Sorting out my studio space . Feels like I’ve more room now thank goodness. Getting organised is key I think to making good progress. If you know where stuff is then your filing system saves so much wasted time searching around for the right tool or materials. Here are some sketches which I add to each week .Variety is the spice of life they say. Use different drawing and painting media and materials, techniques and colour combinations. Ring the changes in sketchbooks - nothing is wasted, just try anything and everything to express yourself creatively, indoors and outdoors too. #expressiveartstherapy #artist #artofinstagram #artwork #artoftheday #sketchbook #mixedmedia #studioday #artmaterial #lynnegreenstreet #tidyyourspace #creative #artexploration #creativethinking #tidyup #artmaterials (at Marsh Lane, Derbyshire) https://www.instagram.com/p/CgxLs2BLPo4/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

"Through the Eyes of a Powerful Woman: ABI Resources' Artistic Vision"
ABI Resources artist and brain injury survivor.
TBI, or Traumatic Brain Injury, can be a difficult and life-changing experience. However, many individuals who have experienced TBI have gone on to achieve amazing things and inspire others.
Despite facing significant challenges, TBI survivors have demonstrated incredible resilience and perseverance. From learning to walk and talk again, to relearning how to complete everyday tasks, their journey is one of determination and courage.
Many TBI survivors have also become advocates for brain injury awareness and research, using their experiences to help others who are going through similar challenges. Their stories serve as a reminder of the power of the human spirit to overcome adversity and find new paths forward.
So, while TBI may present significant obstacles, it is also an opportunity to grow, learn, and inspire others. With the right support and mindset, TBI survivors can achieve incredible things and make a meaningful impact on the world around them.
Art has been found to have a profound impact on the human brain. Research has shown that engaging in creative activities like drawing, painting, and even just looking at art can stimulate various regions of the brain, leading to increased neural connectivity and plasticity.
Studies have also demonstrated that the experience of art can be therapeutic, improving mood, reducing stress, and even decreasing the perception of physical pain. In fact, art therapy has become an increasingly popular form of treatment for a range of mental health conditions, from anxiety and depression to PTSD.
The relationship between art and the brain is complex, and researchers are still uncovering new insights into the ways that engaging with art can impact our neural pathways and cognitive functioning. What is clear, however, is that incorporating art into our lives can offer a range of benefits for both our mental and physical health.

What is Expressive Arts Therapy?
Expressive Arts Therapy (EXAT): The intermodal use of creative arts as therapy tools in tandem with psychology. The focus is on the process of creation rather than the aesthetic of the art, nurturing personal growth and transformation.
