Maybe John's not actually crazy for thinking Hey Jude is to him? “For well you know that it's a fool who plays it cool by making his world a little colder.” fool is, in my tin hat world, often a code name for Paul in their songs. And that description is certainly him to a t actually. I wonder why I've never considered it before. 
John: are you happy here, honey? Paul: I ain't happy here my honey, can you take me back? How many songs does Paul write from 1968 on about trying to go back? One day I'm going to make a list and it'll be a long one. 
And thus begins the phase of they just can't help it, can they? But they really wish they could. They make each other so so happy, but they really wish they didn't. It would hurt less that way.

I love the comparison of Linda's pictures of everyone else and then of John. It just shows that it's not a her problem – that's such a lovely one of George, who Hates Yoko – it's how he feels about her.

John, coming up with every possible weapon to provoke Paul, finally has Yoko sing Paul's part in one of their songs. It really is such a slap in the face. But of course breaking the sanctity of their music is what does it best. And still, all he gets out of him is a look before he walks away. Whatever it is that John wants, I think Paul literally can not give it to him. 
Btw the white album is my favorite, probably. There's just such incredible diversity on it. It's so much fun, you never get tired of it, and it's an excellent display of their genius and versatility.

What do we think? John says Paul drummed on WDWDITR. Paul says Ringo did. Who is telling the truth?
“It was getting to be where he wanted to do it like that but he couldn't make the break . . .” So John thinks Paul doing his songs by himself means he wants to break the group up? I personally read it as him not wanting to annoy everyone with his bossiness, but that's just my take.

Somebody please engage with that poor little boy, preferably, you know, his father. Ugh, Cynthia must've had so much anxiety watching that footage, or really any time Julian was with John. And that footage is placed in the doc right after a pic of Paul already being Heather's dad just so naturally.

I'm sorry but it will forever be hilarious to me that when John's singing his part of “I've Got a Feeling” with Yoko it's “soft dream” and then with Paul it's “wet dream”. How John and Yoko tricked everyone into believing they were too horny for each other to control themselves is beyond my imagination. 
On the day John plays their sex tape, “Unusually, Yoko is not present.” LMAO girl same. John: I'm going to play our sex tape for the band tomorrow. Yoko: oh was that tomorrow? Damn, I forgot, I have a thing. 
“Well that's an interesting one.” What did John honestly expect, though? Like I know he wanted Paul to be like, “that's it! Enough is enough I'm taking you home and doing you right!” Or whatever. But what did he honestly, realistically expect?
Always saying the same things at the same time, always on the same page, same word. About everything, it seems, except their relationship.

Paul: but you won't say anything about it. John: I said what I've been thinking. Paul: Are you still thinking that now? What are you thinking now? John: I'm still thinking about it. Infuriating. Whatever it is John's been thinking, he doesn't want to talk about it in front of cameras. Is it quitting the band? I think it's something more complicated than that but I've no idea what. 
“John, John, joooooohn!” X “Martha my Dear” crossover my beloved. The fact that literally Everyone reacts and tries to get her to stop except Paul is so extremely telling. Yoko: joooooohn! Ringo: He's busy! Yoko: joooooohn! John: Stop that! (And he looks and sounds genuinely pissed) Yoko: joooooohn! Paul: (plinking and pounding away, definitely not thinking thoughts about what he would do right now if he was a girl that will come out of his mouth fifteen years later)

Everyone's trying to figure out the problem with George vs JohnandYoko and Paul's saying “and like with Yoko, they’re real. They mean it.” Linda laughs. “I don't dig that.” You don't, Linda? What about them isn't real to her, I wonder. Does she think they don't really love each other? Or what?
Linda: *Makes fart noise* Go away! Paul: continues to defend them. Neil: everybody cough. See and this is why it sucks that get back was so edited. Because it's important that Paul's defending them here not just going on and on where nobody asked. He knows he's hurt John, and he feels bad enough about it to let him have his mommy with him at all times if that's what he needs.
If what??? Someone needs to force them to finish their damn sentences. Because I feel like he cuts himself off here when (I swear!!) he's about to say what it is that's hurting John so badly.

Anyway, here's where (imo) he's kinda wrong. Where he says "if it came to a push between Yoko and the band, it's Yoko." I think I said it in my get back posts, but I'll say it again. Yeah, if it was Yoko or the band, it's Yoko. But if it's Yoko or Paul filling all the gaps Yoko is currently filling? It's Paul. You know? And I think that's what John wants so badly at this time, actually. Is “a push between Yoko and [Paul]” ending with Paul stepping up for him in some way that he wasn't before, you know?
He really does get it though. John wanting to be as close as possible with Yoko so he doesn't lose her and their connection. Don't forget he does put Linda in his band. He gets it because it was the same with him and John.

I really do think it's a huge myth that they just never talked about feelings or anything serious. Look at them. This is how they talk in a crowded place with their girlfriends sitting right there. They didn't just get through fifteen years of one of the greatest collaborations in history never actually talking. They talked about deep stuff. And frequently.

mizu was sure from the day that she met you; that she felt something for you. it was deep inside her heart. it weighed her down like the weights on her body.
she couldn't get too close though. she spoke to you rarely, only doing it when she needed to. she kept her distance. she couldn't be attached to you; she had a purpose to fulfill. a purpose she couldn't have people getting in the way of; especially not you.
but she definitely noticed you. oh, god, did she notice you. those beautiful eyes, the way your hair fell on your shoulders. the flower you wore in your hair. she had no clue what it meant; but it meant something. she wanted to know, dear god, did she want to know.
she had fallen for you, and at this point, it wasn't something she could deny. she wanted to deny it--damn it, did she want to deny it! but she couldn't. it was a love so close to her heart that it had a grip on her. a grip that wouldn't loosen.
but it still couldn't distract her from her mission--so she pushed you away. she pushed you so far away, it had convinced you that she hated you. hated you with the same fiery flame that she hated the man who made her. the men she was sworn to kill.
so you opted to spend your time with ringo; mizu's sweet and kind hearted "apprentice" not that mizu would ever admit she did have him as her apprentice, and that she did enjoy his company.
why'd you have to fall for this hard ass of a samurai and not a sweet soul like ringo?
you sighed, sorting through herbs and spices with the young man. you glanced at him. he had known mizu longer, if only for a little longer. maybe he would know something of the woman.
"ringo, i have a question," you brush your fingers across his arm, catching his attention. "what do you know of mizu?"
"what do I know of her? well, I feel we know the same amount," he chuckled, turning back to his bowl of herbs and spices as he mixed and mixed. "a skilled samurai and a fierce warrior."
"well.. yes, I know that," you murmur, handing him another bottle of spice. "but... emotionally. what do you know of her.. emotionally?"
he hummed in a gentle "hmmm", "she doesn't open up very much, (y/n)."
"hence why I thought maybe you'd know," you sigh. "I think she hates me, ringo. I really think she hates me."
"hates you? why, I--"
he stopped himself. god, why did he stop himself?
"ringo..." you whisper, "what--do you know? all I need to know is she doesn't want me dead."
"of course she does not want you dead," he chuckles.
you take in a sharp inhale, "well, that much is good," you laugh with him. "has she... she hasn't said anything else, has she?"
"she does say how annoying you are. how annoying your pretty face is, your pretty eyes and your distracting smile--"
ringo pauses again. seems he realizes he's said too much.
you scoff, "you're fucking with me," you hiss. "she--she couldn't of said that. no, not mizu. she'd never say that."
"I would never lie to you, (y/n)," ringo raises an eyebrow at you. "you are my best friend."
fuck.
fuck. fuck!
ringo was maybe the most honest person in the entire world. you knew he wasn't lying to you. not that you didn't want to hear it, but...
"I, um, thank you, ringo."
frankly; you didn't know what to make of the information. could you just approach mizu and tell her? no, that'd never work. she'd deny everything in a damn heartbeat.
"you.. wouldn't mind me telling you something, would you, ringo?"
"of course not!" he smiles that bright smile.
"i.. really like mizu. like.. in a love, kind of way," you blushed brightly. "I always thought she hated me."
"can I tell you a secret?" he giggles, leaning into your ear. "I think she likes you in a love way, too."
the words were music to your ears.
you were going to talk to her, and you were gonna do it now. you gently patted ringo's head as you stood up.
"thank you ringo," you smile. "im... gonna go talk to her."
"yes!" ringo chirps, smiling, "(y/n) must tell master how she feels."
you giggle, "and I will. I'll be back!"
you slip out of the room, finding mizu getting ready to soak in the bathroom in the house they had been staying at. the two of you lock eyes, for a moment, before she disappears into the room fully.
you follow. god, you followed her. were you actually looking to make her hate you?
"um, mizu," you clear your throat, catching her attention. she was half dressed, now, her binded chest now exposed to you fully. she looked to be reaching for her hair.
she nods her head to acknowledge your presence. "(y/n)," the way your name rolled off her tongue made your heart race.
"I had just been speaking to ringo, and--ive.. decided you speak yo you about something," that was when you began undressing. you removed the flower in your hair, slipping out of your kimono and wading into the water. you might as well do this somewhere she didn't have access to her sword.
she looks at you with a puzzled expression, her eyes following the curves of your body as you get into the water. she does the same, dropping the rest of her clothes and getting in the water. she keeps her distance from you, though. half way across the bath.
"and what is so important that you have decided to bathe with me?"
you chuckle nervously, your eyes trailing her body. she looked so damn good soaking wet.
"you see.. i.."
you just needed to go for it.
"I am.. I find you attractive, mizu, and I believe it like you in a.. romantic, sense, im not going to hold that in anymore." you inhale sharply.
she looks at you with wide eyes. she had spent so long pushing you away, and yet here you were, confessing to her--
it hit her.
--ringo.
"what did ringo say to you?" she narrowed her eyes.
she had accidentally said so much stupid shit to her apprentice. what of it had he repeated back to you, and how deep of a hole was she in?
"tell me exactly what he told you."
you nod a little.
"h-he said you said that said I had an annoyingly pretty face.. a-and eyes, and a distracting smile--"
fuck. she did say that.. didn't she?
"he is dead to me," she grumbles under her breath. she sighed, gazing back at you. "but I digress."
surprisingly, she slid closer to you.
"I happened to say those things," one of her hands climb under your chin, titling you head up to meet her eyes. "is that.. a problem?"
you're face turns beat red when she touches you. you were so used to her staying so distanced it caught you off guard.
"it.. isn't a problem, no," you whisper. "I was only wondering.." your gaze slowly drifts away from hers.
she jerks your head to gaze at her again, "wondering what?"
"if you felt as I did," you murmur, gazing at her. "you.. made me feel as if you hated me."
those words stung. they really stung. that was never her intention.
"I apologize," she shifts a bit closer. "that was never what I meant to do, (y/n), it is only that... I cannot get close to people out here, for fear that they will be injured. or get me hurt. or that they will leave me."
you nod. understandable.
"I understand," you whisper. "but I have no intention of letting any of that happen."
her words light a fire inside her heart. a confidence, a passion.
she pulls you close, her hands cradling either side of your face. she presses her lips against yours, the kiss gentle yet filled with an unspoken desire. one she had carried for months...
you hummed, you hand reaching up to brush a strand of hair behind the samurai's ear.
she pulls back a little, a rare smile crossing her lips.
"will you do me the honor of being mine, then?"
"I certainly will."

Random observations on this season (updating)
(SPOILERS, OBVIOUSLY)
Episode 1
I don't think we've ever seen Assane do a genuine fourth-wall break before
OK so Claire has a last name now
Assane really expected that he could just show up and Claire would just fall at his feet
I'm surprised Benjamin is just allowed to continue working at his shop
This feels better-edited than Parts 1 & 2
Name a more iconic duo than Belkacem and failing constantly (she really doesn't listen, does she)
Episode 2

NEVER invite Guédira to a funeral lmaooo
Hang on I'm just now realizing that Juliette is at this funeral, too (she's standing in the second row behind Benjamin and Claire and honestly doesn't seem too upset about Assane's "death")
I like how in the flashback Babakar tells Assane that he reminds him of his mother and then it turns out she was a criminal
This seems to be around the time of Raoul's birthday again; he really can't catch a break on that
Episode 3
New shipping war just dropped: Guédira/Belkacem vs Guédira/Fleur
That bit where Claire was outright begging Benjamin to tell her Assane was alive and he couldn't...that was sad
But then it was followed by Benjamin doing the "uhh my FRIEND just died" act with Belkacem which was funny
This gang of thugs is trying a little too hard tbh
Assane's disguise in this episode is fucking terrible lol
The basketball coach disguise, on the other hand, is the only time I've genuinely thought he wasn't recognizable
Episode 4
Ironically that coach persona is probably the best parenting Assane has ever done
Claire? Doing things that are vaguely cool?? That feels illegal. Also, she looked so proud of herself for swiping that book, lol
Betraying Benjamin was certainly...a choice on Assane's part ("everyone disliked that")
This episode is going to devastate the show's Tumblr fandom
Episode 5
Assane trolling the shit out of Guédira will never not be funny
These 1998 flashbacks are pretty dark actually
Honestly the way Claire got that reveal out of Benjamin was very well-played on her part
Guédira out here looking like present-day Ringo Starr with that disguise
Aww look at Assane playing the matchmaker for Guédira and Belkacem, heh heh
This is easily one of the funniest episodes
Except Benjamin is straight up not having a good time -- it looks like he got beaten up in prison
Episode 6
Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, I'm not totally sure Benjamin knows that Assane betrayed him. It's possible he just thinks that he fucked up with the bracelet and then missed a cue in the maze
"Pasta with ketchup" jesus fucking christ Claire that sounds horrendous (although I'm guessing the only reason they did that was because of the ketchup-bottle reveal)
Assane really has Claire's number because he's now seduced her twice under two different identities
IDK whether or not Raoul has figured out that the coach is his dad but it's funny that he still seemed to be shipping it either way
It's nice that we get to see Claire's more playful side in this season, like her messing with Assane by acting really flirty with "Alex" after she realizes they're the same person
INCREDIBLE casting for the younger and older versions of Keller tbh; they easily look like they could be the same person
Episode 7
What a nice family reunion...it would be a shame if something happened to it...
The flashbacks are significantly darker than the present timeline this time around
Guédira finally got to arrest Assane, good for him!
The scene at the train station with the letter from Assane to Claire sort of reminds me of the ending to A Tale of Two Cities, which I had to read for AP prep a while back
Oh look, Hubert Pellegrini is back
So they're CLEARLY setting up another season with this ending
The choice of people to show on the montage there was interesting, lol
I could see a Juliette antagonist arc happening tbh
Maybe Assane's mom isn't all she seems either
And what about Benjamin? If he turns against Assane the viewers are going to lose their minds

Japanese gaming websites have released a Summary of Puyo Puyo Puzzle Pop's plot
I took the freedom to translate it
Amitie wakes up, feeling like somebody was talking to her in a dream. A strange feeling in her chest, she decides to go on one of her usual walks to clear her head, meets Arle and Carbuncle by the roadside and decides to have a Puyo Battle with them. When she does so, the group suddenly encounters Ringo, who isn't even supposed to be in this world right now. That is when a little creature named "Meena" appears, introducing themself as the "Guide of the Dream Realm", telling them "You are all currently in the Realm of Dreams." After a conversation with Amitie's senior from another school, the Comet Warlock Lemres, Amitie and her friends learn that Meena had, to their delight, apparently just been lent a huge amount of magical power from somebody, but as they are unable to control such power it is possible that the knock-on effect of their actions has caused everyone to become trapped in the realm of dreams. Meena must have a "accomplice" to blame for all this, and by Puyo battling people maybe it will be possible to learn who is acting suspicious enough to be the accomplice in question. The adventure to escape the Realm of Dreams starts here!

Mizu: Looks like she can kill you, is a neutral cinnamon roll but can really mutilate, slice you in half, bite your nose off as her bones are breaking while tearing you limb from limb.
Taigen: Looks like he can kill you, is the type of guy who overshares his whole backstory to a kid he almost killed in the past. Oh right, and he can kill you.
Akemi: Looks like a cinnamon roll, is the probably the kindest cinnamon except she can definitely kill. Kill to the extent of maybe threatening her own ass of a father with a sword and lock him in a cell to burn?? Perhaps??
Ringo: Looks like a cinnamon roll, is a cinnamon roll with strawberry frosting and sprinkles along with a hella ton of honey. The only way he can kill you is by giving you diabetes from feeding too many cinnamon rolls to you ^_^

Today's setlist was literally the same as the first day of Kyoto, to complete my bad luck of today, because I had to go and mention my preference. However, it ended on a much better note than the 16th because it wasn't a special day, and there were so many announcements after the show. And overall, of course it was amazing nevertheless and I knew what to expect but it went a bit beyond that.
I'll focus mostly on the highlights, or differences from the past performances of this week.
I think that everyone was back to wearing their MOAN outfits like on the first day (which also hinted that the setlist might be the same), except Kyo. He wore a two-piece similar to day 2 which showed a large portion of his abdomen above his hips, but the two pieces were completely different. The top had puffy sleeves and frills on the shoulders, which prevented his massive pearl necklace accessory from slipping when he moved, like it had on the 17th eventually. The bottom piece was a simple long skirt, no folds. All black, of course. There were short portions of frills near the hips on the skirt. This time, with my seat much closer to the stage, I could see the beautiful faded pink outline of his jaw and the side of his face, with his face maybe whitened a bit.
Since I'd seen online that Zepp DiverCity Tokyo had a rather flat floor, I didn't want to risk being unable to see even more, so I purchased a ticket being resold. It turns out that line A was inexistent, so the first line in front was B. Honestly, while it was awesome to see things up closer, especially Kyo's facial expressions this time, I do appreciate having seen sukekiyo from afar, because their shows have so much theatrics thanks to the projections. I literally barely saw them at all from where I sat today.
The show started with awful audio for Margaret, bur it improved after a while. Kyo for some reason kind of forgot "Iro wa ochi namida ni" and maybe the one that followed too. He tried to act natural and pick back up when he could. It was odd because the other members also made mistakes and yet this was the show being filmed. I think it was during Candis that one of the repeated keyboard notes was played one time too many, and there was another song in which it was UtA who did something wacky with his pedals which sounded super off.
For Gloss, I can't remember any highlights. Very emotional "Kokoro wo shibaritsukete" moments though.
Aishita Shinzou, I think that was the song during which Kyo drops to the floor and snakes his way back up slowly, and that he later teased a leg by raising his skirt. A lot of dancing! And it was definitely at the part about "tensed flesh" that Kyo touched the area between his legs seductively.
Candis, definitely from my view way to the right of the stage but also on the first floor, it was super not obvious that the projection made the stage look like the PV location. Anyway, super fun with the penlight! I don't know if it was just me, but it seemed as if Kyo sometimes could raise his hand higher during the "Iya Iya Iya", but that he kind of restricted how high he did it because we also couldn't raise our penlights to block anything outside of our own little space.
From the side by the way, and because Kyo kept raising his arms and arching his back in some songs, it was rather hot to see his tattooed skin move in the space between his pieces of clothing!
Oh and the way Kyo rotates on the spot at the end of most songs to sip water or just turn his back to us, arms straight to his sides, really looks so cool and kind of like a doll.
Valentina was great, of course! Even though Kyo seemed to point the kiss without a word everywhere except toward my section. I forgot to mention it before, but there is a time when he doesn't sing "Do you need me?"x2, I think when the song mellows down before pumping back up. I don't know if it's just for these Shikkoku no Gi shows, but he looks at us and places his index finger to his mouth, as if to make sure that we stay quiet, or maybe it's more in-character because the "Don't answer" comes after those lyrics in other parts of the song. So it's as if the character doesn't even ask if the other person needs them because they don't want to know, in fact. But then he does sing it in the louder part that comes next hahah.
I can't remember anything specific for MOAN.
Oh but yo, I think it was in Aishita Shinzou and another one of those pop songs, Kyo swung his hips sideways so much, it was nothing new to him.
Kuchi ni ringo had the "sono makka na iro janai" screeched again. Being under the blue sea of light this time, the vision is actually unobstructed but the effect can't be appreciated as much. In the song, during the Lan lan lan part, Kyo swung his arm around in a kind of stabbing manner, but I guess he was hammering a nail like he then sings. At the end of the song, his joined fingertips forming a womb actually spent more time moving downward past his hips, and he seemed to offer it outward much less. He even made it move more toward his chest, maybe over his heart? He got tangled up in one of the pearl necklaces and like a pro, he just adjusted his rotation for the next "Aaah Shikyuu ga hoshii".
aftermath really displays Kyo's high-pitched notes in all their glory.
After that, Kyo again sat down to be pampered, a zoom projected on screen simultaneously. It seemed to be much, much shorter tonight though, and the chair was different, a normal height and styled more like the one that was on stage in the tour where Kyo had the fluffy white petticoat. The session that followed had a mix of emotions, and Kyo generally felt more free to end some songs with a reverberating grunt, sigh, etc.
Houmonsha X picked up on that generally whiny/frustrated improvised session and it felt like Kyo really had quite the range of facial expressions. He also makes most of the same gestures as in the PV, which is broadcast above him on the screen. His dancing was more robotic, and I don't know if he danced as if it to avoid stepping on the lights this time around. From the first floor, you totally can't see that detail.
Rongai na ikimono toshite was superb. Intense, aggressive. I think it was in this song that there was a lot of Kyo gesturing to hit the back of his hands against one another. I don't know what it was supposed to refer to. His rings were supposed to hit?
The reflective part of "Aishita? Aishita...i" has a spiral composed of many lines swirling, it's perfect for the mood. Rongai na ikimono toshite was definitely one of the songs where Kyo continued to make guttural sounds at the end, where in the studio recording he's singing the first line in reverse.
Kawattekuremasen deshou ka? was great again, a bit less emotional than I personally feel about it, but still. A majority of the lyrics were added to the videos being displayed this time around! It felt like it added more personality to the song. Yet somehow, the part of "Naze watashi dake hontou no ai wo shiranai" is the one omitted from the screen, like more emphasis is put on the following verse. And when Kyo sings the title of the song, he comes up to the screen and essentially asks whether anyone here in the audience could consider changing places. At the end of the song, Kyo purposely places his hands over the pink lights on his mic stand to obscure his face and create a more dramatic ending.
The biggest highlight of the night by a land slide is Yumemi doro! To set up the situation, at the end of Kawattekuremasen deshou ka?, Kyo's foot caught in either his mic stand or his mic cord, almost making the stand fall over. He noticed on time and prevented it. But that just seemed to give him an idea, because he almost pole-danced that mic stand in Yumemi doro. He then lifted his skirt again I think on both sides, but definitely on his left side high enough that we got to see the underpant (not actual underwear) section of the skirt, and he lifted that exposed leg twice to hug the mic stand.
There was one song in the lot where Kyo dropped to the floor, maybe that aforementioned time in Aishita Shinzou, and he licked his stand about near the height where someone's hips could be, but that's just a measurement for you all, I don't know if it was intended hah.
The other thing about Yumemi doro is that range of distorted vocals which was again even more enhanced and deranged in this live performance. Being closer, it was so cool to observe not only Kyo's facial expressions during those, but also the way he moves his jaw, his throat, etc. to produce that diversity.
Scarlet was more tame in comparison, but anything would be. The drums and bass really hit you full force the most in this song.
Tada, mada, watashi. was powerful as always. I was able to confirm that it's "Oyasumi" in hiragana that's displayed right before the restart of the song near the last portion.
Hakudaku and Uso, same as before.
Before Kokyuu... Kyo slowly came back up to the mic stand after emitting a sad sigh, eyes downcast.
Fortunately, we weren't left on that note. After Takumi, the last one to leave, bowed a couple of times on his way out, there were all the announcements that I posted, plus a best album to be released too. Each time a specific announcement ended, the message on screen said: "Otanoshimini..." (Look forward to it...) until the last one, which sounded more authoritary: "Look forward to it!"
I got my little share of Frameout kara no because it was the song used during the announcement for the tour in August, I guess.
Overall, I'm so glad that this show got filmed. It's weird not seeing cameramen moving around like during Dir en grey shows: what I saw was one small camera on a stand at the very edges of the stage, one small on a very short stand right in front of Kyo on stage, pointing up at him, and a camera mounted on a tall arm that kept moving around, from the side of the stage besides Mika. There must have been other cameras in the back of the venue too.
And Takao Ogata was right there when Kyo hugged the mic stand with his legs and showed off his left leg up on it. We better see those pictures at some point!!

Penny Lane's Getting Better (The Beatles x Reader)
Chapter 3: Nowhere Man
English was boring. At least it should have been. Paul kept distracting you, he'd told the teacher that he would sit next to you to "help" you adjust to the class. The teacher allowed this, but the teacher had no idea that Paul just wanted to distract you all class. 
He would pass notes and whisper in your ear when the teacher turned her back. You wanted to stab his eyes out, but you restrained the best you could. When class was over, Paul follows you out into the hall. 
"What's your next class?" he asks with a smug expression. 
"Art," you reply, worried you might have to suffer another class with him. 
"Damn, I didn't take art. I think John has that class though. I'd love to be in a class with him," Paul stammers on endlessly. "He's a real great guy, you know? He just is this amazing person he--"
"I need to go," you cut-in, heading towards a random hallway. 
"Other direction!" he calls, making you turn around. 
You make it to Art just in the nick of time. John let's you sit by him as he smiles. 
"Did Paul bother you all of last class?" John smirks. 
"Yes, actually," you reply and he snickers as the the teacher enters the class. 
"It seems we have a new student today, class," the teacher says, looking at you. Everyone turns to stare at you, a thousand judgmental eyes, well except for John. He has a goofy, stupid grin on his face as everyone stares. He's basking in the fact he already knows you while everyone else doesn't. 
See, the more time you've spent with John and his friends, the more you've thought about how unpopular they are with everyone else. It makes you question if you should be hanging out with them, or maybe some of the other girls instead. 
The teacher clears her throat and class begins, she instructs the class on different artistic techniques and shading. Once again, you find yourself distracted by John who scribbles on his paper crude images of other students. He laughs and snickers to himself and the rest of the table. 
"Mr. Lennon," the teacher slams her hand on table next to him. John drops his pencil and looks up at the teacher with guilty eyes. 
"Yes?" he pretends to be unaware that he did anything wrong. 
"This isn't a good impression to leave on our new student," the teacher glances at you. You avoid her eye contact before she moves you to a separate table. The rest of class is boring, John steals glances at you and he smirks each time. Class ends quickly and you shuffle out, looking for John. 
"Hey." he grabs your shoulders, causing you to spin around. 
"Hey," you say back, trying to sound causal. John smirks at you, walking past you to where Ringo and George are standing. 
"It's time to get some food," John says, motioning you over. 
You looked around the boys, noticing George's shy behavior once more. Ringo snickers in his ear and pats him on the back. 
The three whisper to one another as someone comes up behind you. 
"There she is," Paul says, placing only one hand on your shoulder. He smiles at you, brightly and genuinely. He notices your distance from the group and pulls you over to them. "You have to get out of your comfort zone someday," he whispers and places his arm around your shoulders.
John glares at Paul who smirks back. George and Ringo act like nothing is happening, obviously wanting to avoid a confrontation. 
"You said we were getting something to eat?" you say, breaking the tension. John nods and grumbles something under his breath before starting down the hallway. He was like a quiet thunder after a bolt of lighting. George and Ringo follow closely behind. 
"Ladies first," Paul motions for you to step froward. You blush, charging after them with Paul at you heals. 
Sometime later, you and the lads ended up outside. Penny Lane was bustling with people as everyone rushed for items and luxuries during their short break. 
John didn't seem in a hurry, but Paul did. 
There was something so odd about the two of them. They felt so different, but yet they both acted the same sometimes. Like in class, they both distracted you with notes and whispers. 
You didn't get it, but something was going on between them that only George and Ringo seemed to get. 
Maybe that was for the better...
Paul kept near you, walking hastily ahead the group. From time to time George or Ringo would run up to walk with you both, but they usually fell back in line with John behind them. 
"So, are you going to tell me where we're going?" she looks to Paul, but expected an answer from someone else. 
Then the entire group stopped in front of a large red gate. It was surrounded by a large brick wall that read:
"Strawberry Field"
You raised your eyebrow. 
"Welcome to Strawberry Fields," John says, pushing past you to the gate. He pulls on it a couple of times before ushering George over. It was like they were in a circus act as George climbed on to John's shoulders, being lifted over the brick wall. 
"You know I think it says, 'Strawberry Field,'" you say, but everyone ignores you. Ringo is lifted up next, then John helps you over the wall. 
You sit at the top of the wall looking down at the boys like a queen to her knights. George and Ringo are already on the other side, conversing amongst themselves. 
They wait for you to join them, but instead you are more interested in what John and Paul are doing. 
They are whispering to each other, but it doesn't seem to be in quite a friendly way. 
"Back off, Paul," John hisses. 
"I don't know what you're talking about, I am simply being nice," Paul says, calmly back. 
"Bulls--" John gets cut off.
"You boys coming or what?" you call, looking down at them. 
"Coming!" Paul yells, pushing past John and jumping on to the wall. You help him up the rest of the way and he smiles as he sits next to you. John glares at Paul and jumps on to the wall. 
He gets up fine on his own before Paul smirks and pushes John off the wall. 
You cover your mouth in surprise as Paul laughs. John grumbles on the ground and George comes to his aid. You quickly get off the wall, afraid that Paul might push you off too. 
"John? Are you okay?" you help him up as he mumbles under his breath. 
"He's fine," Paul says, jumping off the wall and standing next to you. 
"What's gotten into you?" John snaps at Paul. He then storms away farther into the fields. To your surprise, the fields were covered in strawberries just like the sign had said. 
Paul huffs and you glares at him. 
"What has gotten into you?" you whisper, following after John with the other boys.
Paul stays where he is and sighs. 
You rush after John through the strawberry field with George and Ringo on your heels. 
"I can't believe Paul is acting so--"
"I can't exactly blame him," George cuts, probably being the most words he's ever said to you. 
"What do you mean?" you ask, stopping in your tracks. Ringo gasps for breath as George stares at him. 
"It's obvious that something is making them jealous," George says. 
"Or someone," Ringo adds.
"Jealous?" you ask, "You don't mean..."
Ringo and George exchange glances. 
"They both--" George is cut off as Paul runs out from the the brush of strawberries. 
"There you four...three are," he says, fixing his hair. George and Ringo continue walking away and leaving you with Paul. You turn to Paul, maybe confronting him was the best thing to do. 
"What's with you and John?" you ask, stopping him from following the others. He sighs, brushing his hair back. He looks as if he's trying to avoid the question. 
"It's complicated," he mutters. 
You glare at him.
"Fine," he hisses, glancing around. 
"Listen, John and I have been through hell and back, but neither of us can agree sometimes." Paul explains, pacing around the rows of strawberries. He picks one of the strawberries and eats it. 
"What's that supposed to mean?" you push, it seems nobody in this friend group could just be forward with their explanations. 
"John likes you, okay?" he crosses his arms. 
"He does?" you can't help but smile a bit. 
"Don't get all smiley on my now," he snaps, walking closer to you, "you don't understand. John likes you, but I...I can't have that." He frowns, holding himself like a hug. He doesn't face you, but you know that there is something bothering him. 
"Why?" is all you say. Your frustration was disappearing as you walk closer to him. 
"John and I are close. Terribly so, I worry about him all the time. His parents aren't around, he lives with his aunt, he's always getting into trouble...I need him to be protected. " Paul sits down surrounded by strawberries. "That's all I want for him, but sometimes I get a little greedy, I supposed. I just worry you'll take him away from me."
You sit next to him and lean your head on his shoulder. 
"I'm not taking him away from you, Paul. I just want to be a part of the friend group, you know?" you smile as his face brightens up. 
He take your hand. 
"Thank you," he whispers. 
"George said there was jealously between you and John...could you maybe explain that?" you ask. 
Paul blushes. 
"Well, I've never told anyone but--"
"Oh, look who it is," John hisses, walking out from the brush with the other guys. Paul let's go of your hands and stand up quickly. 
"John, I'm sorry about what I did--"
"Save it," John says, grabbing your arm and pulling you up, "Class is starting again soon, let's go." They walk towards the gate again. Paul sighs, nodding to you and following at the back of the group. 
"John, maybe you should listen to him," you whisper to him. 
"Shut it, he doesn't know what he's talking about. I can't believe I took his ass in sometimes, such a nowhere man..." he helps you over the wall again. 
You head back to school and wonder for the rest of the day what Paul was trying to say to you.

I said I may or may not write my opinion about Blue Eye Samurai and guess who finished the first season and felt like sharing some stupid thoughts! (Gonna use they/them pronouns for Mizu - I think the creators' been using she/her but they just have that vibe, sorry.)
First of all, I'm NOT gonna praise it and say this is the best animated series I've ever seen in the samurai genre - this show is at most an okay copy/retelling of the classic Japanese revenge stories, however, it is still captivating.
For me, it felt like a mixture of two of my fav stories, namely Kaze Hikaru and Bakumatsu Kikansetsu. Mizu is pretty much like Kaze Hikaru's Sei (though a hundred times stronger and a million times more bloodthirsty with just an ounce of mercy) with a though start in life thanks to links to the Western world, losing family and wanting revenge so much that both of them end up leading the life of a man, often encountering how much better they are off in this role. On the other hand the whole show's vibe and Mizu's design remind me of Bakumatsu Kikansetsu's more serious tones and its hero, Akizuki - mysterious dude with unconventional clothing, blue eyes, a badass special sword, with the occasional rampage. Maybe my nostalgia towards both stories made me watch this one within a day.
The mix of Japanese and American storytelling was fun, although I must say that the baddies lacking complexity whatsoever made me itch sometimes. (Except for one dude, who really managed to fool me for so long.) Fowler is plain and boring, the most typical big brute Western guy they could depict, though it's fun to think this was an intentional copying of similar anime archetypes of Western characters. Taigen felt like a cheap imitation of Zuko being honor-bound but getting his ass constantly kicked, but who, by the end of the day, seemed to learn nothing. Ringo was fun and proved to be a million times useful indeed, though he just went and followed his heart in the twenty-fourth hour instead of his common sense, not helping those who would've needed it after all (though in the end it seemed like his help was not even needed lol).
Ah yes, this was my big problem with the show. Sometimes people just went to do stuff that... resulted in nothing. Like. Okay, go, warn people of imminent danger but what is the use when they can just...spot the danger like five minutes later without the warning and those minutes make zero difference? Ringo almost abandoned Mizu several times just to go after them eventually, for what?
But the series also offered some very clever ideas. For example, I truly thought that "oh my god are we going to get a two floors/episode fight or what? getting to Fowler will be like a stupid video game" just to have some pleasant surprise instead. Mizu's weapon... I'm not gonna go into that because I'm so in love with it! The red-light district and Madame Kaji and her girls were also A+ content.
This is again, something the show handled tastefully. Since anime can't show nudity without censorship (I think that law still exists?), I don't think there's any show, hentai or not where they could've got away with these sex scenes, but in an American animation on Netflix? No problem. I'm really not a fan of hentai or this type of mature content (I'd choose the most disgusting gore over it any time) but didn't bother me that we had a sex scene in every episode. (Maybe except in the last one.)
As for Mizu. Their whole aesthetics is so badass. You cannot not fall in love with them, ruthlessness or not. I know their whole character is built upon the fact that women couldn't get their revenge in the shogunate's era thanks to the strict patriarchy, and really, the most a women could achieve was rather Akemi's path. However, there are a few instances where it's not that easy to decide whether they are just pissed to be looked down upon as a woman, want to keep their secret, or there's more than that. They might be considered an unconventional woman who could never be satisfied with the traditional roles of women. One, who is forced to take on the role of a boy and does not know how to forget that when they can return to their womanhood. But that womanhood also feels forced. As if they're just simply outside of this whole shit that dudes are honorable samurai (or artisans / farmers / merchants), women are cooking and raising kids. That's part of the reason why I loved the idea that their sword is actually multifunctional and can be used as a naginata. Naginata became the weapon of women in the Edo era, so even though we're not there yet, it seems to have more feminine connotations than a katana. This double-shape of their weapon seems to reflect their soul. This is further emphasized by their outcast half-breed status, which, again, means they're not entirely one, not entirely the other.
Anyway.
Go watch the show.
It's worth it. Mizu is like some cockroach that refuses to die and kills at least a hundred people and just wants to be left alone to kill their enemies.
Please, watch it, otherwise we may never get to know how the fuck will white dudes die by the hands of a lowly half-breed who has the most crazy and determined eyes you've ever seen.

Currently on hour 27 of rewatching Part 2 of the Get Back documentary. I've still got almost two hours left, which means I'll probably finish maybe by the end of the week.
Pausing every two sentences to curse and rant at all of them (except Ringo) for ten minutes, isn't conducive to swift progress.
Pausing practically every time Paul is on screen is definitely not helping matters any.
I live in the Apple Studio now.

I Saw Her Standing There

Chapter 6
"Where the hell have you been?" Allison greeted her.
"Staying with friends," Joie answered flatly.
"We are supposed to stick together you know," Allison reprimanded.
Joie just smiled. "Well, I'll be staying with some friends periodically. As a matter of fact, we can speak to the chaperone and maybe get you a new roommate."
"Hell no," she shot back. "I like having my own room. I'm gonna land me a Beatle if it's the last thing I do."
"Is that why you came here? To sleep with one of the Beatles?"
Allison waved a hand at her. "Why do you think any of these girls wanted to come? What are you? Stupid? Why the hell did you come?"
"Frankly, to see London..." Joie admitted, then threw in for good measure "and to see some old friends."
"Well have fun, roomie," she said. "I've got a plan I need to work on."
"So who are you after? John? Paul? George, Ringo?"
Allison threw her long blonde hair over her shoulder. "Doesn't matter, does it?"
Joie followed her a moment. "But Allison, they have lives, girlfriends...wives!"
Allison forced a wicked smile and repeated, "Doesn't matter...does it?"
Joie watched her as she followed the group of girls into a dressing room. She was totally out of her element. Yes, she found Paul attractive but it wouldn't go any farther than that. And then peeking in her mind was George. What she felt for him was....was....well, she didn't know what exactly, but she would never try to sleep with any of them. Truth be told, she wasn't ready to sleep with anyone. The farthest she and Charlie got was her battling him to stop trying to unzip her pants. He finally gave up and started dating Sheila Mattes, who boasted about helping boys unzip her pants.
Joie wanted to be in love. She wanted her first time to be something special...not just a quick grope in the back seat of a car during a drive in movie. She wanted flowers and romance and a loving courtship. Like in the romance novels she read or love stories she watched at the movies. Someone to take her away. Someone who would love Jordan and watch football with her dad.
She knew that boy was somewhere. She just needed to be smart and patient. Apparently, very patient.
..........
Victoria Brown was the woman who would show them the ropes at the studio. From what Joie could tell, it would be a lot of standing around, then some running after the boys, then a little screaming. Simple. Except that girls were disappearing at an alarming rate. "Wandering off" they called it. Victoria Brown knew they were trying to get to the Beatles and Victoria also knew the Beatles' wouldn't mind a quick one in the loo before a scene.
They were all instructed as to what to wear, where makeup was, where they were supposed to report and when. It was like a cattle call to Joie, but she didn't care. It was all new to her. Some of these other girls had actually been in movies that had been produced by their fathers, so it was old hat to them. But Joie was amazed at the organization.
By 3:30 they were done. Tuesday was going to be a free day and then Wednesday, they were going to start shooting "B" shots of the girls running, standing...waiting for the Beatles. The last scene, in about 4 weeks, was the concert. Joie couldn't wait for that.
She was getting ready to board the bus to go to the hotel when Victoria pulled her out of line. She instructed the bus driver to leave. Seems Joie was going to have a special driver of her own.
Part of her hoped it was Paul, but another part of her said it wasn't a good idea. She went back into the cavernous studio with Victoria and was told to wait in a small back studio.
And wait she did.
And waited. And waited.
Nothing.
She heard people milling around and finally a man came in questioning why she was there. Joie told him she asked to wait here. She showed him the note Victoria had given her. It said simply, "Wait for me in Studio B, Paul."
The man laughed. "You've been had little one," he said. "Someone pulled a trick on you."
Joie didn't know if she should tell the man that Paul had actually brought her to the studio in the morning...but decided against it. Why embarrass herself further? The man probably wouldn't believe her anyway. So this, apparently, was the way little rich Hollywood girls have their fun and games. Well, fuck you and the horse you rode in on. Their bullshit bothered her as much as a 70° day.
"Can you tell me how I can get a taxi?"
"Where are you going?"
Joie had to think. To Freda's? To the hotel?
She decided on the hotel. It was the easiest place to get to. "Shepparton Inn," she told him.
"I'll drive you."
"That's ok," Joie told him, not wanting to get into the car with a stranger. "I'll manage with a taxi."
The man shook his head. "Look, my name is Dick Lester. I'm directing this movie and I'm safe to get into a car with. Who the hell are you anyway?"
All Joie told him was that she was from California and hired as one of the extras. She added that she had gotten separated from her group.
"I think the group separated you from the sound of that note," he said gently.
She felt foolish and small. All she could think of is going back home and thoughts of home made her weepy. But she wasn't going to cry in front of a stranger. She fought and fought until tears welled in the corner of her eyes.
"I'm sorry," she told him. "I'm just a long way from home."
"For the first time?"
Joie nodded and blinked furiously to dry her tears. She took a deep breath.
"Look," he said sitting down before her. "go your own way. These other girls just want to bang a Beatle and go home. Probably some of them will. Others will make up stories that they did. Just go your own way and you'll be fine."
Joie took another breath and finally smiled. "Thanks Mr. Lester. That really helped."
"And I'll get my assistant to get you a taxi..."
"Thanks again."
"No problem. My pleasure. And don't let those other girls get to you."
"I won't."
Joie waited by the studio gate for a taxi, still not sure of where she was going. She had no way of getting a hold of Freda, who was probably at Brian's office, but Joie didn't know the phone number. The safest bet was to go to the hotel and call Freda later to let her know where she was.
She only waited a few moments when a green mini cooper pulled up beside her inside the gate.
"Need a ride?"
It was George, his dark eyes shining bright as he looked into hers.
Joie smiled in recognition. "You have no idea...."
Joie climbed into the passenger's side and George noticed she seemed to be a bit weepy. "I didn't know where to go."
"Just go to Freda's if anything ever happens or call Brian's office. I'll give you the number to ring."
Joie proceeded to tell him how the girls had tricked her with a note from Paul. And how she thought the note was really from Paul since he had picked her up.
George knew that the note was probably meant to do exactly what it did -- embarrass Joie, with a hug and kiss from the jealous extras in the peanut gallery, but he remained mute.
"How about dinner?" George suddenly asked. "there's a restaurant by our place where we won't be bothered."
"Our place?"
"Ringo's and mine. We live together for now until we find our own places. I'm looking out towards Esher. Ringo likes living in town."
"Is Esher far?"
"An hour outside London," he explained. "Not too far from John and Cyn's."
"We'll stop by my house to see if Ringo wants to come with us. Maybe Mo too."

He’s a little more difficult to place in a single element. I even thought he might be a non-bender, but that came more from internalized ableist thinking, and I feel horrible for that. Ringo would definitely be a bender, but I'm starting to wonder which one to put him in.
He has the versatility and adaptability of a waterbender, my baby can function in any scenario and I love him for that. He also has the spirituality, lightness and fluidity of an airbender, he can be anyone's spiritual guide, because of his enormous sense of hindsight and optimism. Have I told you that I love him? At the same time, he also has the resilience, strength, patience, and ability to listen and wait for the right moment of an earthbender. I also consider that he has the liveliness and burning spirit of a firebender... perhaps Ringo can be the avatar?
It would be interesting to see an all-powerful avatar who managed to overcome his disability. In ATLK we had Ming Hua, she not only had no hands, she had no arms, and yet she is one of the most powerful waterbenders we have seen so far in the avatar universe. What can stop Ringo from achieving something similar? nothing, just himself. But we already have a character who does not allow his "limitations" to be an impediment to achieving what he wants.
However, I don't want to name anyone an avatar in my theories. I feel it is not necessary to emphasize how powerful benders they could be. So, I was thinking about some element or sub-art that could compact all the characteristics of Ringo's personality.
And that's when I got to sandbending. It is an elemental art that caught my attention ever since I saw the episode of Appa's kidnapping. It is a sub-art that has a little bit of everything. It has the fluidity and speed/agility of airbending. The bending techniques are very similar to those we see in waterbending, plus it is a branch derived from earthbending. I think it would be the perfect element for Ringo.
While I'm sure Ringo would be a competent earthbender, I feel like this sub-art fits who he is much better. A unique elemental art for a unique character. Yes, give me three.
Furthermore, after having the most powerful god and owner of my insides, Gaara of the Desert, we can have an idea of how potent and advantageous it could be to have control of an element as changeable, light and potentially dangerous as sand.
And if we continue with my theory of Mizu being a waterbending prodigy, this duo would become a real threat to everyone. Just imagine Mizu teaching all the water techniques to Ringo so that he can improve his sand control, homie will be unstoppable.
Sidenote, if Ringo were a non-bender, he would be a descendant of the air nomads, which would explain his enormous connection to the spirit world. I don't think his story will change that much. His father's restaurant could be in one of those isolated desert villages. That idiot may not even know that his son is a bender, his little head can’t conceive that someone without hands could achieve anything in life.
Maybe Ringo learned a little from watching the desert bandits who stop by from time to time for a nice bowl of soba. He could look forward to the sandstorms, so he could measure how much his control has improved.
One day he met a strange traveler, with a strong and stubborn spirit, with exceptional control of water. Ringo knew that his story to greatness began that same day and decided to follow that strange man so he could learn from him.
Although at first the relationship was cold and a little uncomfortable, over time everything improved and they became an unstoppable duo.
Ringo was filled with Mizu's physical wisdom, and Mizu was filled with Ringo's spiritual wisdom. You could say that they were meant to come together and complete each other, creating a good balance between them.

Every time they're not on camera I simultaneously feel so relieved for them and so upset that I don't get to watch. Messed up of me, but hey. Remember that slightly disturbing quote where Paul said he actually does believe he's kind of public property and he's fine with that?

Fun fact, I was this John for Halloween in 2021 to a college party. My hair was already like that, and I had dirty white keds and black jeans, so I just did fake sideburns, fake glasses, and a fake fur coat. I tried to get my best friend to be Paul. She wanted to be a hooker, and I was like “It’s the same thing!”

John and Paul instantly jump into their little “humble working class entertainers” act. You know what just occurred to me? You know how they talked about the “rattle your jewelry” comment backstage and Paul dared John to say it? I wonder if they talked about the “audition” comment too.
It really is a beautiful thing they’re doing. It’s lovely, watching everyon leave their desk jobs and their shopping and whatever else to sit in their fire escapes and congregate in the street and huddle together on rooftops. It really is just like the happy end in a sixties zeitgeist movie. 
All the girls nervous to be too enthusiastic after years of being made fun of themselves and watching others like them being mocked on TV. Let girls like things, damnit!

“No lay rishi gahd blay bloojaygoo” should replace all the stupid quotes the Lennon estate puts on everything they sell. Then I’d actually want their shit. Paul trying to magic the words from his head into John’s there. Successfully, though.
That “Pleeeeeheeeeease” is one of the prettiest beatles vocal moments. I love it with all my heart. And clearly, so does Paul. Doing that thing he does, inappropriately thrusting into his bass. 
Oh my gosh it’s the song Paul and John do together on tour right now!
That “Yyyyyeeeeeah, yeaaaaaah!” (I mean the whole song, the whole concert, but especially that) does things to me. 
John’s extremely blurry, because he turned his head quick enough to give him whiplash there, sorry everyone. But look! They’re having the time of their lives! They just love performing together so much!

The mic in the street asking that girl if she’d like them to come back every lunchtime. Imagine if they did? How cute would that be? Like back to their cavern lunchtime shows. Maybe that could’ve saved them.
Them playing God Save the Queen reminds me of that story where Brian was like, “This bigger manager wants to buy your contract from me, and I just wanted to be straight with you. They could probably get better deals for you.” and they were like, “If you sell us to him we’re only playing God Save the Queen from that moment on.” It’s probably a fake story, but that’s what it made me think of. 
I always think that quote of Paul’s is so strange, where he was like “I never got the chance to watch John while we were playing.” Like. What are you talking about, baby?

My stomach just dropped at those words across the screen. “This was the Beatles’ last public performance.” We know, Peter Jackson. You don’t have to remind us. Jeez. 
John and Paul’s two very different but equally important leadership roles in the band at work here at the end of the concert. John delivers his iconic line, makes everyone laugh, and seals the band’s last performance with a very tight bow. Meanwhile, Paul’s climbing the gate to bypass the crowd and schmooze the police out of arresting Mal.

George is so cute here in the control room afterward. No wonder they don’t listen to his not wanting to do things, honestly, if he acts like this after. “What’s the law say why you can’t do that? Well how disturbing the peace? Yeah, I’m for taking over London. And every rock group in the world all on different buildings, playing the same tune.” Adorable.
Poor John. It breaks my heart that he doesn’t think his little lyric flub is funny. He’s disappointed in himself. I wish he could see that that’s one of the things everyone loves about him. George was grinning ear to ear about it. For fuck’s sake, that’s one of the reasons Paul fell in love with you in the first place. If only John could see himself the way we see him, you know?

This little moment cracks me up. John always has to be mommy’s naughty little boy, and Yoko does a very sweet job of playing her part here.

Linda and Paul are so touchy and clingy and it’s very romantic and I love that Ringo joins in and makes fun of them.   
The whole after-show glow for everyone was just so palpable and fantastic. I wish they could've gone on performing together. Clearly it made all of them very happy.

succession, the beatles, and potential series finale clues
as a beatles blog runner who fucking loves succession *cracks knuckles* finally, my time has come
although 4.02 isn’t the first time succession has referenced the beatles (we all remember the “beatles were putting out their best work when they were all suing each other” line); 4.02 is the first time succession really uses the band dynamics to potentially, maybe hint at the way things may turn out in the end (i cannot attempt to understand the labyrinth that is jesse armstrong’s brain so i could be like, way off base. however. parallels were drawn and i think we need to examine those parallels).
in 4.02 roman says to shiv and kendall: “stop ganging up on me like you’re lennon and mccartney and i’m fucking george. i’m john, motherfuckers. [points to shiv] ringo. [points to kendall] yoko.”
let’s break this down:
1. stop ganging up on me like you’re lennon and mccartney and i’m fucking george
this is the most obvious statement roman makes; shiv and kendall are evidently teaming up as the “leaders” of the siblings and are leaving roman “out” of it, like john and paul did *at times* with george (cue george’s death glare in get back part 1)
2. i’m john, motherfuckers
this is where it starts to get interesting. roman deems himself one of “leaders” of the group. some say john was the Ultimate Leader of the beatles (including paul at times). i don’t know if i would go so far as to say that roman is calling himself the Ultimate Leader, though it is possible. i think he’s more implying that he’s one of the ~important~ ones.
3. [points to shiv] ringo. 
it is SO interesting to me that he calls shiv ringo. ringo is either seen as the “unimportant” member of the beatles, or the glue who held them all together. there’s sort of no in between with ringo. a lot of people who are Very Into the beatles recognize that ringo was often the balancing member of the band, the one who wouldn’t often speak up, but when he did, they all listened and obeyed. but tbh, since roman is an asshole (with affection), i think he’s essentially saying that shiv is unimportant by calling her ringo. but ringo IS important, so remember that.
4. [points to kendall] yoko
it is extremely fascinating that he calls kendall yoko. the public discourse around yoko is generally all over the place and often unfair (but sometimes...fair), however the basics that the entire world knows are that yoko came in and “stole” john from paul. ergo, by roman calling himself john and calling kendall yoko - is he inadvertently aligning himself with kendall? will we see a roman/kendall alliance down the line? 
5. who is paul?
the fact that paul wasn’t mentioned at all (except at the beginning) is fascinating. because if neither kendall or shiv are paul, then who is? 
as a certified beatles stan, it’s obviously logan. john and paul are famous for having this extremely complicated and co-dependant relationship (even throughout the breakup and post-breakup era), and while all the kids are obviously dependant on logan’s approval and affection, roman is undeniably the most in need of logan’s approval and affection. john was arguably the Needier one between john and paul, so the fact that he identifies himself as john makes a lot of sense. 
6. what does it all mean?
does it mean that shiv doesn’t really hold much weight in how things end up? or does she actually hold the most weight? does it mean roman tries to align himself with logan but ultimately ends up getting swept away by kendall?
food for thought. could mean nothing, could mean something

Voiceplay Visuals: Boy Bands In 5 Minutes (post 1/2)
I really love this video (even though I'm not originally familiar with all the songs), and there is so much stuff that happens on screen that either I would have to limit the amount of screencaps I take (and where's the fun in that?), or just break it up into two parts (maybe more, we'll see how we go).
This video premiered in June 2019, Geoff was in charge of both the arrangement and the video, and this includes 14 songs!!! And there are different outfits for every single one! Which is why this'll be broken into multiple posts.

This move is NOT EASY. I've tried it, and yeah I could get about as far down as Earl, despite having a few more physical advantages.
