♡ - romantic headcanon
So X'vahl is a hopeless romantic. He's also cheesy as hell and as subtle as a brick wall when it comes to flirting (he thinks he's subtle but he is extremely obvious about it, and Erenville even directly called him out on it which embarrassed the hell out of him). He loves to put his bard skills to use and is not above a serenade, or a dance.
Quality time and physical touch are probably tied for his primary love languages. He didn't realize how touch starved he's been until recently though and the first time he actually innocently (and accidentally) made skin contact with Erenville he practically melted and had that "oh" moment like "okay I guess this is what my heart wants" he had been content to leave it at that since he's been very careful with his heart since he got it shattered by the mother of his children until Tataru decided she needed to intervene because she can read him like a book and knew something was up and wasn't about to let him keep acting like a kicked kitten at the mere mention of Erenville's name.

Hey everyone,
As of January 20th, I'll have been running orkowhereheshouldntbe for two years. It's been so much fun, and I've learned so much about photo editing and media. But I don't feel like I can keep up with the daily posts anymore, and I don't want to keep half-assing things in hope the spark comes back. In other words, as the bio warned, the joke's gotten old.
That's not to say this blog is going away - I plan on leaving it up, and I'll still take requests and suggestions. I may even make a post of my own here and there when the mood strikes me. But I think taking the burden of daily posts off my shoulders will help.
I could never have anticipated a one-off inside joke like this becoming such a big part of my life, or taking up so much of my time. I'm proud of myself for managing to keep things going this long, even with the breaks I've had to take. And I'm endlessly grateful for all the love and support I've gotten on my posts. I'll have a special video on Saturday, to commemorate the blog's anniversary, and as a gift for all of you.
This isn't a permanent goodbye. It's just a change from how things have been. <3

i do love how i Can read the sound effects in trigun. bc even tho theyre untranslated, i can read katakana & hiragana lol. but also my eyes tend to just glaze over them bc theyre very japanese sound effects, so the sound transcriptions arent exactly what i'd attribute the sounds to (just by virtue of being an english speaker)
but like. here, from right to left, we have "don-don-don", "ga-gigi", and "ba-kan". which i can infer what those sounds are... but also it's simpler to just fill in myself based on what i See what sounds would be here. the only real reason the sound effects are useful (to me) are for knowing how many shots Vash fires (like the "don-don-don" showing that vash shoots 3 times)
other examples of sound effects:
"go go go go", "kyuru kyuru kyuru kyuru" (kyuru being the sound of wheels turning i guess, tho i got No Idea what the go go go go is)
"GAN", "do do do do" (a clang, then four shots fired by Vash)
"BA-BA-TSU", "ni-pa", "ba-tan!!" (sound of rolling??, sound of smile?? then a door shut)
see what i mean lol about the sounds being very Japanese? i can read them, but what they read to is still not very useful if you're not familiar with most Japanese depictions of sound effects (like me)
still nice to be able to supplement my reading with my katakana & hiragana knowledge tho

how and why is there discourse about whether or not certain queer identities exist/if people should be allowed(???) to use them. why is "people know their own identity better than you ever could, and they're the only one who get a say on what they are" such a tough concept to grasp
i think if you find yourself offended by the label someone uses (especially if they're a stranger) or think it invalidates your own, it's a good idea to look inside yourself and question why that may be. more often than not, it's a result of insecurity or uncertainty of your own identity (or many other things, but i won't make a whole list here). whatever reason it is, until you resolve it, you shouldn't take it out on people for having an identity you don't understand
many have said it before but it's worth saying over and over. infighting only helps our oppressors. conservatives don't care if you're a cis gay or a xenogender aegosexual aplatonic lesbian, they hate all of us either way. trying to fit in by going for people who are easier targets for them isn't gonna help you, it'll just alienate you from your own community, and you're never gonna please them. the momentary rush you get from hearing you're not like "one of /those/ gay people" is not worth it and is gonna do more harm in the long run, i assure you
also, it is important to me to say this, but having some less than nice kneejerk reaction caused by confusion about an identity you don't understand doesn't mean you're a bad person or anything. as long as you aren't mean to that person, and you take a second to think smth along the lines of "wait a minute, this isn't any of my business" after having said reaction, you're good 👍 a lot of reflexive reactions we have to things are ingrained into us simply by. well. living in a society 🤡 and you're not terrible for having those thoughts. it's your actions that matter, and your second thought (the "wait, why did i just think that?") is more defining of your actual character and morals than your reflex. i know that having thoughts like this, even tho they're unwanted, can very easily make one spiral, so it's important to me that whoever needs to hear this knows this doesn't make you a bad person 🙏 you're good, keep taking actions to be good, accept other people even if you don't understand them, and you're on the right track :)

2. A headcanon you weren't sure about at first but have come to like!
Ooh this one is kinda tough~ I'm generally rather removed from the fandom at large so I actually don't really know of a lot of popular headcanons out there, let alone ones I initially didn't like and came to like~ I really only ever consumed content about Baatar and Kuvira as they're my favorites, and with them I'd either like a headcanon outright, or dislike it outright.
I will say, at least in the limited fan content I've consumed, there is a common idea of Baatar having gone to university in Ba Sing Se for a period of time. I've seen at least 3 folks use that in their writings for him, and while it was never something I was "unsure" about, I didn't initially include the idea in my version of him. I don't know who penned that headcanon first but I was always hesitant about being seen as "copying" anyone lol. I do like the idea though, especially with my very codependent versions of Baatar and Kuvira, some time apart like that during their "good years" would be rather interesting, since they have been in each other's lives for most of their lives, Baatar choosing to go where Kuvira can't follow- even for a short period of time, I can see her holding against him for a little while. Especially with her preexisting abandonment issues.
9. A ship that isn't your OTP but you enjoy
Once again I'm pretty singularly invested in Baatar and Kuvira but there are definitely some canon and fan ships that I like! Canon wise I'll always have a soft spot for Bolin and Opal, just because they're cute and I like the potential dynamic it creates with Baatar specifically. A lot of it is pretty contingent on my rewrite versions, but what can I say, I'm a bit of a sucker for puppy love. Lyn and Kya was an early ship I'd see in the fandom that I always was like *Kermit nodding gif* ooh yeah I like that, and I've also seen Lyn and Bumi which I also really like, but I never really delved into fan works of either admittedly. I'll confess that lately the crack ship of Baatar and Zhu Li has been on my mind, but definitely not as a positive ship in any way, more like a mutually waged psychological warfare that they aren't even trying to hide from each other kind. I don't remember what sparked the idea- I'm not usually one for crack ships as I tend to be pretty single-ship through and through, but it's been a fun dynamic to think about, especially the kinds of conversations they'd have.
#Ask Matsu#LoK Thoughts#[ The Baatar/Zhu Li thing is something I'd love to play with but it definitely would not be canon to my main AU lol#as fun as that would be Baatar does not expend any more energy on people than he needs to save for Kuvira and to a lesser extent Bolin#But the idea of him and Zhu Li waging war with each other behind the scenes is very interesting to me#especially with her really just trying to get information she can use against them out of him#and he's fully aware of that and just letting whatever happens happen to both see how far she'll take it but also to keep the leash drawn#in the event she actually choses to do something drastic#also for the sake of clarity Kuvira would be 100% fully aware and find it entertaining on a number of levels#her and Baatar do not keep secrets#she was probably the one to be like “lol you should see where that's going”#though I do think Baatar and Zhu Li would have some very interesting conversations#they're in very similar positions and I'm sure he'd wanna know why she put up with Varrick for so long#i mean he'd have a good guess but he'd wanna hear what her rationale is in her own words#and on Zhu Li's part she wants to know what twisted Baatar up so bad#but she'd also find a lot of his viewpoints about being a non bender rather gratifying#because he's willing to say out loud what a lot of people don't want to hear#I didn't meant to go on about that singular aspect lol but it's something I've been thinking about a lot lately#and crack-ships are rather new for me so this is uncharted territory#does this even count as a crack ship tho? maybe not#it definitely started out as “hehe the two glasses people on the train” but now it's like “hehe psychological warfare”#idk maybe it still counts lol ]#orangepanic

man idgaf about what treville and richelieu have going on (mostly nothing) (they dont like each other but they work together a lot bc of their jobs.) (i guess treville holding onto a sense of honour whilst working with the cardinal is interesting but like that's not. thats not really those two having something interesting going on). lets talk about the king and the cardinal man.

I notice that even though Citron's my fave, I spend more time here talking about Orange and Navel.
I think it's fear of being wrong.

my brother and me, looking at a map of our city marking all 19 cemeteries, trying to figure out which one's the one our father is buried at cause we have to get the headstone cause his rental contract has expired like
#would be easier if our mother was talking to us but alas#who knew after being dead for some 20 years they would just go bye bye but that's the chr*stian church to y'all#on the other hand my great grandfather has been buried at the same cemetery since 1973 so maybe it's just that one#orrr it's cause he's buried in a small town and maybe his last name still weights something to the people there#I mean nearly the whole town came to his funeral - tho still it has been 50 years that can't be it right right right#maybe I should ask me grandmother but I haven't talked to her since our grandfather died like 5 years ago or smth lol I don't even know#they never cared for him anyway so#who wants to visit 19 cemeteries with me to find the right one could be a fun date idea#actually does anyone know what happens to the ashes? like do they just throw his remains in the trash or#I have so many thoughts about this I actually think we need to get it this month but I'm not sure cause NO ONE TOLD ME#until my brother was like 'oh yea we actually needa go get the headstone if we don't want them to throw it away'#like guys this was money#fluff whining again

Yk what I mean??#actually I remember when I first made him I intended on him being scrawny nd physically weak#btu yk times change he a strong boy now#it fits his story lol#oops I'm rambling in thr tags#Okay but story-wise Mortis did used to be pretty physically weak#all will be revealed in due time#except I sure do like to take my sweet time

Dorks
Starting with ZEX nad DAX! I moved them in by themselves first and had them fall in love and, forgot, to take any screenshots of it lol oops. They are In Love, but not committed :) I’m also really silly-pleased with how they turned out haha, using Zarla’s VUX retextures as well as these red horns and Namekian antennae haha - anything to make them just a little more alien!

Moved the Captain in and he immediately rolled a Want to flirt with ZEX lol. You’re so judgey Captain not like I intentionally made it so he and ZEX would be attracted to each other but not so much him and DAX cough
ZEX was also immediately enamoured lol, who would’ve guessed
Jinx! I ended up getting the Jealousy-negation potion because I want them all to get along ♥

I was curious and there actually is a difference in what ZEX and the Captain are doing - ZEX is cuddling, the Captain is sitting (on ZEX lol)

A bit less focusedly more just seeing what happens for now#It's also kinda in the middle of/around Talana's - some things happened concurrently like getting robbed#Thus DAX still being mad about it when he went over to visit lol#Both of the VUX are currently employed but the human is not - something of a house husband at the moment lol#I'll get to him he's just a bit freshly moved in yet - I made him a cute studio loft so he has a bit of space for himself :)#He still crashed in ZEX's bed and kicked DAX out tho lol mean!#DAX is a dancer - pretty sure he fell asleep in his uniform haha#I think ZEX is in the Slacker career? This would be post-exile so y'know ♪#He has other things to be doing! Like the Captain pfft#I really am rather pleased with how everyone turned out <3 I'll have to get some closeups at some point so you can see ZEX's smile lines!#I considered giving him the short cropped hair but the longer hair just looks so nice ahhh#I gave DAX the same for a moment but they were a little too difficult to tell apart even with the eyepatch haha#It's a shame the red horns count as ''glasses'' so they come off for certain outfits - I think I might be able to turn them back on hmm#The little colour contrast on VUX skin is so pretty! <3#I had so much fun with all the decorations as well lol there are So many space pictures and wallpaper and bedsheets#All the doors are Star Trek doors! There's a UFO hanging model in the bedroom hehe <3#The clean white futurism look is very fun to work in :)

emet is so wow for being kind of a mix of sephiroth + ardyn but much better
#⋯ ꒰ა starry thoughts ໒꒱ *·˚#idk. emet and shb thoughts. they did that expac SO fucking good.#i barely have any gripes about shadowbingers tbh... i can't think of any rn >.< in terms of story at least!#he's SUCH a compelling and amazingly written character. defo one of the best out there ( may be a bit biased but yeah )#ffxiv in general for sure has one of the best stories out there >.<#at least especially with my preferences! but emet for sure is a no brainer. he's such an amazing character#i don't want to delve into spoilers bcs not all of my followers play ffxiv ^^; the opposite tbh. most of y'all don't lol but dwdw#i will never stop advertising for ffxiv tho <3 it's not a perfect game but it truly tries it's best ( bless the devs )#i'd say he's much better written than seph and ardyn both & has done more in damage too! also has the best reason for being the antag#also. his character is like ardyn but more ??? yeah. he's canonically even a theater guy so yeah#wait did i say this yet. but yeah for sephiroth... tbh the biggest reference i'd make there id that emet has a similar scene#but there's more meaning in it. like uhh... what do you call it? oh yeah. his hunched back#idk the details in the characters of ffxiv really amaze me tbh#euwufsijdodnskdnksjs still not over shadowbringers. oh MAN. it's been more than a year#then again i still think abt all the expacs kind of daily so :') <3#don't bully me or anything btw LMAO i don't hate sephiroth or ardyn + emet isn't perfect still ^^ but yeah. yeah.#also i nerd a lot abt these stuff and think a lot abt them so ... >.< <33 it makes me happy hehe#tag later#??? tbh these are just my random thoughts while i'm sitting in my seat at 2 am and listening to pop music LOL#but yeah. wld love to expand on this more in my notes or whatever even if i'm unorganised hehehe
