Character Intro: Hesperis (Kingdom of Ichor)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nicknames- Mommy by her daughters
Hessie by Atlas & the others in the pantheon
Queen of Sunset by the people of Olympius
Age- 35 (immortal)
Location- Erythea, Olympius
Personality- She's generally warm, kind, soft spoken, & an eternal hopeless romantic. She appreciates the beauty in everyday things. Above all else, she loves being a mom. Her relationship status is "complicated."
She has the standard abilities of a goddess except shapeshifting. Being the goddess of the evening & sunset, her powers/abilities include limited photokinesis, limited umbrakinesis, limited chronokinesis (has an innate sense of when the next sunset is, at any point), and dusk manipulation.
Her immediate family includes her daughters The Hesperides- Halcyone (Hallie), Erytheis, and Hesperia, her fraternal twin sister Mesembria (Bria) (goddess of the afternoon), & her niece Dysis (goddess of the sunset). Their relationship has always been a bit tense, but they still care for one another. It's rare for them to visit each other, so they usually keep in touch through phone calls, video chat, & texts.
Hesperis's main address is her beach house in Erythea. There's floor-to-ceiling windows (perfect for letting natural light in), some bamboo & wicker furniture pieces, a large kitchen island, walls painted in colors of cream, ivory, beige, and soft pink, & linen and cotton slipcovers on the sofas & armchairs. A lot of her own art is hung on the walls with most of them being landscapes- of sunsets and portrait paintings- of her, her daughters, & her friends. She has three pet golden retrievers- all of them girls. Their names are Alaula, Dawn, & Soleil.
She loves the intimate and almost solitary feel of Erythea. She often spends her days going for long walks on the beach with her dogs, buying stuff at the local farmer's market, sailing, surfing, and painting. Hesperis also loves traveling to Shimmering Tail Island. She also spends time in the state of Corinth & the Queenstown neighborhood of New Olympus (staying at her daughters' place).
Her go-to drink is a sunset margarita. She also likes piña coladas, mai tais, yellowbird cocktails, & mellow yellow protein shakes- made with bananas, protein powder, frozen mango, honey, sea salt, hemp seeds, pineapple, & coconut milk.
Hesperis can also play the acoustic guitar and ukulele!
Even when she's not physically with her girls, Hesperis is always in contact with them- mostly through texts.
She's known throughout the pantheon for her delicious apple pie! Her coconut cheesecake is a hit too!
Her favorite handbag brand is Megaleio. Her daughters even gifted her with the most expensive handbag- the rose gold crocodile leather one adorned in over 1,200 miniature diamonds!
Hesperis's main source of income comes from modeling for the Euryphaessa jewelry brand.
In the pantheon, she's friends with Coralie (an oceanic nymph), Argía (goddess of holidays), Helios (Titan god of the sun); a former flame, Kéfi (goddess of mirth), Nymphe (goddess of self-care), Eudaimonia (goddess of happiness), Paean (goddess of physicians), Hydros (god of water), Apólafsi (god of enjoyment), Elais (goddess of oil), Karme (demi-goddess of the harvest), Aion (god of time, eternity, & the zodiacs), Panigýri (goddess of festivals), Selene (Titaness of the moon), Nárkosi (goddess of sedation), Elpis (goddess of hope), Aígli (goddess of glamour), Dione, The Nesoi, Philotes (goddess of sex, friendship, & affection), and Leto (Titaness of demurity & motherhood).
As for romantic relationships, she had a brief fling with Helios, but it wasn't anything serious. After that, Hesperis was in a relationship with Horkos (god of oaths). They dated for two years before she ended things due to their different time schedules & him being a workaholic. She met Atlas (Titan god of strength & endurance) by chance while out surfing with Elpis. Hesperis noticed him from a distance on the beach, sitting by some jagged rocks while his dogs ran around. One of the dogs made its way into the ocean, quickly becoming overpowered by the currents. She didn't think. Leaping off her surfboard, Hesperis swam to the dog, grabbing ahold of him just in time. Atlas was still in frozen shock when she handed him his pet, repeating- "Thank you. I don't know what I'd do if I lost him." It was later that same day while having dinner with Elpis & Dolos (god of deception & treachery) that she learned more about the Titan with the lost and intense steely blue eyes. The next morning, she searched for him, finding him near his sailboat. Hesperis gave him a bowl of her ambrosia salad which he accepted. Atlas asked if she could watch his dogs while he went sailing- giving her the keys to his house & she agreed. Inside his house, she noticed framed pictures all over the place of his kids. Five beautiful young girls with dark olive skin, long satin-y hair, their eyes the perfect mix of brown & blue. There was a photo of a boy sitting atop the Titan god's shoulders. They had the same steely blue eyes, same square face, same ink black hair. Noticing how bare the cupboards and fridge was (and holding on tightly to the dogs' leashes), she and the dogs went grocery shopping. When Atlas returned, he was shocked to see his kitchen table set up, complete with a home cooked meal. They ate in complete silence. Hesperis was taken aback while washing the dishes when Atlas kissed her. He pulled back- tears streaming down his face and began profusely apologizing. A week later, they became intimate. She sometimes doesn't know where she stands with him, four years later. On one hand, Atlas is emotionally distant- keeping her at arms' length or reacting unfavorably to her saying "Se agapó" (I love you) during sex. On the other hand, he goes for long walks with her on the beach, or surprises her at her place holding a beautiful bouquet of island flowers, gifting her with new paint supplies, or sending her loving text messages. The moment Hesperis looks forward to the most is their pillow talk. At their bare & most vulnerable selves, they pour their souls out to each other while cuddling. Atlas laments about his punishment, memories of his young son, talking about his daughters, and his hopes for his space aeroengineering school. She talked about her hope of their daughters meeting & her dreams for them as a couple.
Hesperis also loves to read, write in her journal, hike, & cook in her free time. Her go-to dishes are the coconut mango beef curry (Atlas' favorite), fried coconut shrimp with pineapple salsa, chicken soft shell tacos, & grilled salmon (with a mango teriyaki glaze) with white rice (her girls' favorite). Her guilty pleasure is a large pineapple pizza.
"Sunsets aren't the end. It's just a rest period."

Title: the fox and the king
Author: erythea
Summary:
“Ashiya Douman. What a delightful surprise.”
“Yes, delightful!” repeated Douman, buried up to his neck. “Perhaps I should not be so hopeful, what with you standing there, me lying here, and history repeating itself. Mmm, but I am so delighted to meet you here and now, Your Majesty.”
“Delighted? You are shaped like a mermaid, onmyouji.”
“Am I? Oh! That I am.”
The lower half of the mound was shaped into the tail of a fish. The upper half had two smaller, rounder mounds topped with seaweed and seashells. Ashiya Douman, one of the most talented onmyouji in Japanese history, could free himself from his silly, sandy prison without lifting a finger, but here he chose to lay at the will of this impertinent child.
This amused the emperor.
One fine day at the beach, Ashiya Douman tells a story about a man who almost ate a mermaid.

🌹 and thank you so much for all of these snippet, your writing is always a gift! :)
ahhh that’s so sweet :’) thank you so much 💕
“Beware of his beauty,” Hespera says, frown blossoming on her petal lips. “Temptation may be your downfall.”
“The monster is beautiful?” Harry asks, bewildered by the idea.
However, the sisters nod in confirmation. “He is also dangerous,” Aegle reminds him. “Just be careful.”
“I will,” he promises, dipping his head in respect as the sisters flank around him.
One by one they all transform. Hespera becomes a poplar, Erythea an elm, Aegle a willow's sacred trunk, and so on. He remains kneeling until he’s surrounded by a the circle of trees, closing his eyes and giving his thanks to the gods above him.

day 05; “Hermes”
snippet; perseus/medusa au, demigod harry
The Hesperides finally emerge from the trees and gather in the garden late evening, singing amongst themselves with voices as sweet as nectar. They don’t look surprised to see Harry when he comes out from behind the tree, only calling for him to come closer and get his feet wet.
He doesn’t go in the water, far too wary of their cheerful dispositions after the hardships of the past few days. The seven nymphs circle around him and coo at his torn clothes and dirty face. They introduce themselves one by one: Aegle, Erythea, Arethusa, Hestia, Hespera, Hesperusa and Hespereia. The daughters of the evening, but by birth, the great titan Atlas.
They’re beautiful too, almost glowing golden under the fading sky. Harry can’t know for sure, but he thinks he sees constellations etched across their smooth skin, glinting little stars embedded in their hands and arms and legs.
“Harry Styles,” Aegle finally speaks, and he immediately drops to a kneel, ducking his head in respect. “We have some gifts for you.”
Harry frowns. “No tests?” he checks.
He gets giggles in returns. “Silly hero,” Hespera coos. “The test has already been passed.” She gestured to the trees filled with golden apples. “You have not eaten an apple.”
A weight lifts from his chest and he sighs. For once his paranoia has worked out in his favor. “They are said to grant immortality,” he says, unable to help himself. “If I had eaten it…”
The sisters exchange looks. “It is better not to dwell on things past,” Hestia says. Out of all her sisters, she is the most known. Goddess of the hearth, of family and warmth. Even just looking at her makes Harry’s heart ache, longing for his mother and the comfort of his home filling his lungs.
“You have come here to collect gifts from the heavens,” Erythea says softly, “and we will give them to you.”
Exhaling in relief, he clasps his hands together. “Thank you.” For once, something comes easily. He stays knelt as Hespera approaches him, placing a hand on his shoulder that coaxes him to look up and meet her kind gaze.
“First, a gift from us,” she says. Her hand raises into the air, palm up, and a moment later a cloth bag appears in it. It’s not a common rucksack, Harry can tell, eyes lingering on the almost translucent white material, threads of something shimmery running through it. “A kibisis,” she says. “No blade, no flame, nothing can break or tear this bag. It will hold the head of the monster you seek on your return journey, keeping it safe.”
She hands it to him and Harry bows his head again in respect.
“From Athena,” Hesperusa says next, taking her sister’s place. She conjures a polished shield. “To guard you from the strongest foe. It can only be carried by one with great courage in their soul.”
Harry doesn’t hesitate to take it from her, feeling the courage deep in his bones. He is going to survive this journey and he is going to slay the beast. He believes he can and he will.
Arethusa smiles at him, taking Hesperusa’s space. “Next is from Hermes,” she says and Harry blinks in surprise. He didn’t expect the god of thievery, luck, trade, travel, and more to willingly assist him, but he supposes they are half-siblings.
Once again, the thought of being so closely related to immortal beings while he himself is so vulnerable makes him grimace. But he turns his attention back to Arethusa as a pair of leather sandals appear in her hands. However, they are not just useless footwear - Harry studies the wings that protrude from the heels, fluttering and twitching as if they are living limbs. “These will help you soar above any enemy. They will be of great help in reaching the gorgon’s resting place which lies deep within the mountains.”
Harry nods, taking the sandals gingerly. He is already eager to try them on but he tamps it down, looking to Hespereia as she approaches.
“The last two gifts come from your father,” she says gently, but Harry’s heart stutters. His father. Zeus sent him gifts? As if the shock is painted across his face, she softens. “Young hero, you know your father watches over you from Olympus.”
“One hopes,” Harry says quietly, throat dry, “but one can never know for sure.”
“You can now,” Aegle says.
Hespereia first conjures an adamantine sword: a harpe. Harry nearly gasps when he sees it, taking in the smooth glowing diamond blade. His hands tremble when the nymph passes it on to him, memorizing the texture and weight of it in his grip.
“This is… most generous,” he says, voice hoarse. His father sent him one of the most powerful weapons that exists. His father is watching over him, essentially blessing his quest.
“It is not all,” Hespereia reminds, holding out her hand to conjure the final gift. A helmet made of solid obsidian that gleams dark under the fading sun. “This is also a gift from your father’s brother, Hades, and it must be returned after your quest. It is his helm of darkness.”
“Helm of darkness,” Harry echoes, marvelling at the craftsmanship and how the metal feels shockingly cool to the touch. He realizes it’s from the underworld and he shivers at the thought. “What does it do?” he asks when the nymph doesn’t offer an explanation.
“It will mask you from the monster,” Hespereia says, dipping her head. “It pulls the shadows around you until you are hidden from view. It will be of great assist.”
“Thank you,” Harry says, before tipping his head back to the heavens to repeat his gratitude to his father and half-siblings. Thank you for believing in me.
I will not let you down.

Character Intro: The Hesperides (Kingdom of Ichor)
*from top to bottom: Halcyone, Erytheis, & Hesperia
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nicknames- Daughters of the Evening, Goddesses of the West by the people of Olympius
The Blondes by Apollo
(Halcyone) Hallie by her family & friends
Age(s)- 19 (immortal)
Location- Queenstown district, New Olympus
Personalities- They're all friendly, flirtatious, and comfortable in their sexuality. They love being total "Momma's Girls." Hallie is charming & a bit bossy. Erytheis is easy-going & passionate whereas the "baby" of the trio, Hesperia, is a bit immature, flighty, and melodramatic. They're all currently single.
They all have the standard abilities of a goddess- except shapeshifting. As goddesses of the evening & sunset, their powers/abilities include limited chronokinesis (they can tell the time of the next sunset), limited photokinesis, limited chlorokinesis (as it pertains to the apple tree), dusk manipulation, as well as limited audiokinesis (using their pretty singing voices to curse/charm people).
The Hesperides are the daughters of Hesperis (goddess of the evening & sunset).
The sisters all share a townhouse in the Queenstown district of New Olympus. The color scheme inside is peach, baby pink, cream, yellow, orange, & gold. In their living room (from the ceiling) hangs a solid Imperial Gold chandelier, dripping with yellow canary diamonds. The chandelier was a surprising gift from the Queen. They also have a beach house on Shimmering Tail Island & they also stay at their mom's place in Erythea.
Hallie's go-to drink is a tequila sunset. Erytheis likes a grilled peach & pineapple sangria while Hesperia enjoys a beer margarita. They all like large caramel lattes from The Roasted Bean. They also like lemon-lime soda, lemon & orange sparkling water, lychee soda, pineapple juice, and piña colada smoothies.
Before, their main job was guarding the golden apple tree (the night shift) which is also in Erythea. It's said that the sweet and fragrant golden apples could provide one with immortality. Their job didn't last long. It was due to them cursing people to dance till they dropped dead through their singing or with them getting distracted by flirting with guys on nearby ships & boats. The goddesses were then replaced with a hundred headed serpent, Ladon. The sisters sometimes stop by the tree, leaving snacks behind for the slithering golden creature or to pet him.
Their mother Hesperis (goddess of the evening & sunset), as an induction ceremony gift, gave them each a pair of golden apple shaped stud earrings made out of 24K gold.
The sisters are now "quasi-assistants" to the goddess and Queen, Hera. They do the most mundane of tasks like picking up her dry cleaning, her take-out, stopping by her fashion warehouse to pick up her design book, or sometimes babysitting Hebe (goddess of youth) & Eileithyia (Ella) (goddess of childbirth). They're cordial with Iris (goddess of the rainbow), but they don't like Philyra (goddess of perfume, paper, & beauty). They think she's a snobby bitch.
Their favorite dessert is their mom's apple pie. They look forward to when she visits. The sisters are also quite good at baking too! Hesperia can make a good piña colada icebox cake while Hallie is known for her delicious coconut cream cake. Erytheis is known for her decadent panna cotta with papaya coulis.
A shared guilty pleasure that all of them enjoy are the olympic sized fries from Olympic Chef. Golden and salty goodness!
They all used to have a crush on Helios (Titan god of the sun). A shirtless pic of him is the wallpaper on Erytheis' smartphone!
The sisters are fluent in Latin.
In the pantheon, they're friends with Móda (goddess of fashion), Ailuros (goddess of cats & warfare), Carpo (goddess of autumn & fruits), Notus (god of the south wind), Phaenna (goddess of jewels), Thallo (goddess of spring & new growth), Méli (goddess of bees & honey), Phaethusa, Eos (Titaness of dawn), Auxo (goddess of summer, vegetation, & plants), Hemera (goddess of the day), Chloris (goddess of flowers), Aeolus (god of wind), Ganymede (god of homosexual love & desire), Antheia (goddess of swamps, vegetation, & floral wreaths), Chrysos (god of gold & riches), Lampetia, The Graces, Cleta (goddess of whispers), and Aphrodite (goddess of love & beauty).
They all had a few relationships & hookups with mortal guys, mermans, and some dryad guys.
The sisters know about their mom's relationship with Atlas (Titan god of strength & endurance). As long as she's happy, they're happy. They do find it odd for however long they've been together, they have not been introduced to him. They already knew about his former punishment & that his mom is Clymene (Titaness of fame & renown) and creator of the greatest handbag brand known to all beings- Megaleio. After some Fatestagram stalking, they now know that Atlas used to have a young son & that he's been married before. They also know that he has a bunch of daughters- The Hyades and Calypso.
The Hesperides are not at all close with their aunt Mesembria (Bria) (goddess of the afternoon) or their cousin Dysis (goddess of the sunset).
For other work, they model for Glimmer Victory, Persuasions, Sunshine Radiance, Maison du Drame, Phaelam, Swimsilk, Diamond Ave., Graces' Glam, Paloma, La Petit Amour, No.3 & Co.,Tu-Lips (Erytheis' favorite shade being "Pretty Petals", Hesperia's favorite shade being "Lovely Lotus", & Hallie's favorite shade being "Sunkissed Blossoms."), and Studio Bloom. They have had thoughts of starting up something of their own- like a perfume or a cosmetics brand.
They have a slow growing collection of Diamond Ave. jeweled clutches! They want to get all the gold colored ones first! A favorite (which they all share) is the one that’s in the shape of a golden heart!
The sisters are also interested in music. They're a musical group- singing mainly pop and R&B music known as The Golden Dolls. They have so far released three singles independently with their latest song "Lovin' It" garnering some attention on Musify.
In their free time (when they're not with their mom) they like to tan, sunbathe, surf, go shopping, go to the movies, oil paint, go to the spa, and go out clubbing.
Erytheis' favorite dish is the mango avocado spring rolls with green chile ribs. Hesperia loves the avocado & onion salad with the grilled chicken, mango, & blue cheese quesadillas. Hallie loves the pineapple shrimp fried rice with grilled honey teriyaki chicken.
"The golden hour of life is fleeting!"

A COMPLETE LIST OF GREEK SKY GODS & GODDESSES
A COMPLETE LIST OF GREEK SKY GODS & GODDESSES
AEOLUS (Aiolos) The king of the winds. He was appointed by Zeus to guard the storm winds which he kept locked away inside the floating island of Aeolia, releasing them at the request of the gods to wreak their havoc.
AETHER (Aither) The primeval god of the shining light of the blue sky. He was conceived of as the substance of light, a layer of bright mist which lay between the dome of heaven and the lower air which surrounded the earth.
ANEMI (1) (Anemoi) The gods of the four directional winds and the heralds of the four seasons. Boreas the north wind was the lord of winter, Zephyros the west was the bringer of spring, Euros the east was the god of autumn, and Notos the south of summer.
ANEMOI (2) The Daemones of the violent storm-winds. They were sons of the monster Typhoeus kept locked away inside Tartarus or the floating island of Aeolus to be released only at the command of the gods.
ARCE (Arke) The messenger of the Titans. She was the sister of Iris and the goddess of the lost second rainbow. At the end of the Titan-war she was stripped of her wings and locked away inside the pit of Tartarus.
ASTRAEUS (Astraios) The Titan god of the stars. He was father of the planets and the four seasonal winds by Eos the dawn.
ASTRA PLANETI (Astra Planetoi) The gods of the five wandering-stars or planets. The leader of these was bright Eosphoros, the god of the dawn-star Venus. The other four were Pyroeis (star Mars), Phaenon (star Saturn), Phaethon (star Jupiter) and Stilbon (star Mercury).
ASTROTHESIAE (Astrothesiai) The spirits or living forms of the heavenly constellations. They were mostly heroes and creatures who were placed amongst the stars by the gods as reward for some service or, in a handful of cases, as a memorial of their crimes.
ATLAS A Titan condemned by Zeus to hold the sky aloft upon his shoulders and turn it upon its axis. Homer in the Odyssey seems to suggest that he was released from this labour and appointed keeper of the pillars of heaven, presumably the ones erected by Heracles at the ends of the earth.
AURA The Titan goddess of the breeze.
AURAE (Aurai) The nymphs of the breezes.
BOREAS The god of the north wind whose wintry breath brought the cold of winter. He dwelt in a cave in the mountains of the far northern land of Thrace.
CHAOS (Khaos) The primeval goddess of the gap between heaven and earth. She was the air which men breathed. Below Chaos her lay the flat body of the earth, and above the shining mists of the protogenos Aether. Chaos was the mother of Darkness and Night and of the birds.
CHIONE (Khione) The goddess of snow. She was daughter a daughter of Boreas, god of the wintry north wind.
CHRONOS The old god of time who turned the wheel of the heavenly constellations. He was sometimes equated with Cronus, the father of Zeus.
CYCLOPES (Kyklopes) Three giant sons of Uranus (Heaven) who forged the lightning and thunder of Zeus. Their three brothers, the Hecatoncheires, were the gods of violent storms.
EOS The winged goddess of the dawn. She heralded the rising of the sun with her rosy brilliance.
EOSPHORUS (Eosphoros) The god of the dawn-star (the star Venus) seen in the morning skies. He was originally regarded as being distinct from Hesperus, the god of the evening star.
EURUS (Euros) The god of the east wind and herald of the autumn season.
HARPYIAE (Harpyiai) Daemones of whirlwinds and storm gusts. They were known as the hounds of Zeus and blamed for the dissappearance of people without a trace.
HECATONCHEIRES (Hekatonkheires) Three hundred-armed, fifty-headed giants. They were the gods of violent storms which they released from the gates of Tartarus.
HELIUS (Helios) The god of the sun whose orb was he wore upon his head as a bright aureole crown. Helios drove a fiery chariot drawn by four winged steeds.
HEMERA The primeval goddess of the day. In the early morn she scattered the mists of her mother Nyx (Lady Night), to reveal the shining light of Aether, the blue sky.
HERA The Queen of Heaven and goddess of the air and starry constellations. The Milky Way was spilt from her breast and most of the other constellations placed in the heavens at her command.
HERSE The goddess of the morning dew.
HESPERIDES The goddesses of sunsets. The three Hesperides tended the tree of the golden apples on Erythea, the Red Isle, in the western stream of the river Oceanus. The apples were a wedding present from Gaea to the sky-gods Zeus and Hera. They were the source of the golden light of sunset, created to celebrate the nuptials of the sky-gods.
ASTRAPE (LIGHTNING)
HESPERUS (Hesperos) The god of the evening star (the planet Venus). He was originally distinct from his stellar counterpart Eosphorus, the dawn-star.
HORAE (1) (Horai) Three goddesses of the seasons and the ordering of time named Eirene, Eunomia and Dike. They directed the constellations and guiding the Sun in his heavenly course.
HORAE (2) (Horai) The goddesses of the twelve hours of the day. They were originally the same as the first three mentioned above.
HYADES Nymphs of the five stars of the constellation Hyades. They were daughters of the Titan Atlas. Their rising marked the start of the rainy month of spring.
IRIS The goddess of the rainbow. She was the divine messenger of the Olympian gods.
MENAE The nymphs of the fifty new moons of the Olympiad (a period of four years). Fifty moons were significant because this number marked the conjunction of solar and lunar calendars. The goddesses themselves were daughters of the moon-goddess Selene.
NEPHELAE (Nephelai) The nymphs of the clouds. They were daughters of the earth-encircling, river Oceanus from whose waters they drew the rain.
NOTUS (Notos) The god of the wet and stormy south wind who heralded the month of summer.
NYX The primeval goddess of night. In the evening Nyx drew her curtain of dark mists across the sky, cloaking the light of her son Aether, the shining blue sky. In the morn, her daughter Hemera (the goddess Day) lifted the dark mantle.
OCEANIDES (Okeanides)The daughters of the earth-encircling river Oceanus. Some of these were nymphs of clouds (Nephelae) and moistening breezes (Aurae).
OREITHYIA The goddess of cold, gusty mountain winds. She was the wife of Boreas, the wintry north wind, and the mother of Chione, snow.
PLEIADES The nymphs of the seven stars of the constellation Pleiades. They were daughters of the Titan Atlas whose rising and setting were of key importance in the agricultural calendar.
SELENE The goddess of the moon. She rode across the sky on the back of a bull, an ass, or in chariot drawn by winged horses. The moon itself was her crown or billowing veil.
URANUS (Ouranos) The primeval god whose body formed the solid dome of heaven. The Greeks imagined him as a bronze-bodied, star-spangled god whose hands rested upon the earth in the farthest east and feet in the farthest west. He was similar in form to the Egyptian goddess Nut whose starry arching form is common in art. Uranus was a eunuch god, having been castrated by Cronus at the beginning of time.
ZEPHRYUS (Zephyros) The god of the gentle west wind and the herald of spring. He was the husband of Chloris, the goddess of flowers, and the father of Carpus, fruits.
ZEUS The King of the Gods and the ruler of the heavens. He was the god of clouds, rain, thunder and lightning.
ZODIAC (Zodiakos) The spirits of the twelve constellations of the zodiac circled heaven measuring the seasons of the year.
