#he's so star wars imperial. so star trek starfleet command uniform. to me.#myevilposts #pete wentz #he just looks like he's five seconds away from giving a monologue made up of mostly dumb sci-fi jargon for me to spend #five hours at least dissecting relative to the rest of the then lore vs current lore/the recontextualized emotion behind his character #that wasn't established for at least another decade. tbh!#or rip this tunic off to reveal a white tank top underneath and go crawling through a fucked up insane looking #computer room looking ass engine room on the space ship he was stationed as second or third command on. tbh.#in an effort to save his co-workers/co-habitants/friends/family/humanity itself from the ship going down by sabotage and #he winds up having to dig deep into his psyche and confront some hard truths about himself and the horrors #of capitalism before whipping out a blaster and shooting up the shape shifting monster that was hiding itself as a crate in the corner.#the monster shape shifts into his dead/ex lover/friend and begs for mercy as it begins bleeding out. pete bites back tears #and gives a one-liner worthy of arnold. like 'you're appealing to emotions that i simply do not have.' single tear rolls down his cheek #as he fires a second shot at the monster killing it for good this time. it changes back to its normal form that is like some #weird blue tentacle puppet monster. pete wipes sweat off his forehead and shrugs his tunic back on as a kind of cape and #walks off. credits roll as he returns to command center and takes his rightful spot as captain because like only a couple/maybe none #of the other people lived.#pete probably being so hyped to be in a weird sci-fi thing vs his acting skills. fight!

i love the ideas of the dungeons in SoV & the bits of lore the protags give when you first enter any of em.

I'm thinking of things i'd add, remove, or do differently for my srpg project... I doubt i'd have a fatigue system or anything like that. I'd want to add some puzzles to the dungeons, I think that'd be nice. I may not have much experience with puzzle making, but I'll learn

And I really like that some dungeons in SoV have "boss encounters" like the 2 sidequests in the Deliverance Hideout dungeon and the static necrodragons in the Dragon Shrine... so i'd definitely have smth like that.

Fun Fact: due to a selkie's pelt being a significant part of them and Very Much a part of their body, it does have some limited range of motion even when not actively being worn - not really a whole lot, mostly just a "you leave the trunk with a selkie's pelt in it out for a month or so and when you finally check it again you discover that the pelt has slowly begun to crawl its way out the crack between the lid and the body" way, rather than anything actually detectable on a reasonable timescale, but it Does exist!

Mainly, this is displayed when taking a pelt on or off - a selkie's skin needs the contact with an autonomous body to draw the energy to be truly Active, through the same mechanism through which it can merge with someone to allow shifting to selkie form. While taking a pelt on or off, it'll shift a bit to align itself to your body - or to merge itself, in rare cases.

This looks... generally, Very Bad to outside observers. Seeing a pelt suddenly gain a life of its own to wrap around your body and shift it into a certain shape? Bad To Look At! It doesn't help that pelts have a very fluid and "amorphous" way of moving, or that almost all species a selkie could shift to are a lot more soft-bodied than your average bug.

All of this makes it look a bit like the skin "eats" the bug, and then dissolves their chitin to force them into its shape, and the uncanny valley effect is a whole lot worse when it's not a pelt that's Yours - a pelt that isn't your own tends to fit Wrong, and the handful of structural bones on the inside of a selkie pelt will fail to merge entirely, which can cause... very bad effects, from the perspective of the bug looking at it, not to mention the one "borrowing" the pelt.

#selkieverse #bf aus #btw part of the reason that non-selkies can use selkie pelts to shift is like #a Very Literal application of phrases like “something else wearing your skin”#or “crawl up inside your skin besides you”#muse fused with leifs pelt once while he was in snakemouth den and that uhh. well it meant he was definitely Alive #but it also produced MUCH worse effects than your average pelt-borrowing since they were still in hibernation #and they were fungus enough that that transferred to their skin #as pelt rot is caused by a desync between pelt and body cutting off. what counts for a blood flow and causing necrosis in the pelt #there's a good chance that leif might actually have gotten pelt rot at some point #but. well. if absolutely Any of his engineered fungus transferred over before that then it wouldve taken care of that #anyways fun fact having any merged pelt at all increases your chances of hearing that Call Of Your Element significantly

#GPT3 is a large language model (LLM) and so is trained on massive amounts of data #so what it produces is always going to be stolen in some way bc...it cant be trained on nothing #it is trained on peoples writing. just like you are trained on peoples writing.#what most ppl are worried about w GPT3 is openAI using common crawl which is a web crawler/open database with a ridiculous amt of data #in it. all these sources will obviously include some published books in which case...the writing isnt stolen. its a book out in the open #meant to be read. it will also include Stolen Writing as in fanfics or private writing etc that someone might not want shared in this way #HOWEVER . please remember GPT3 was trained on around 45TB of data. may not seem like much but its ONLY TEXT DATA. thats billions and #billions of words. im not sure what you mean by stolen writing (the model has to be trained on...something) but any general prompt you give #it will pretty much be a synthesis of billions and billions and billions of words. it wont be derived specifically from one stolen #text unless that's what you ask for.
