i hate the duolingo leagues mechanic because i am... honestly not all that competitive, but i AM an achievement completionist and theres an achievement for finishing #1 in the diamond league, so. here i am. in the goddamn diamond league
but i suspect hardly anyone is being like... strategic? about xp collection? because to ME the obvious strat is to do regular lessons until you get the 2x xp bonus and then blast through as many timed challenges and legendary challenges as you can, because THOSE normally give you 40xp but with the bonus it's 80xp and you can get through a good number of them in the 15 minutes before the 2x bonus expires (and redo the timed challenges as many times as you want to farm xp). so you can easily get like thousands of xp this way with a pretty trivial time investment? but even the people who put the little gold trophy emoji on their leaderboard icon (not ME. i put the ðšð³ to indicate im learning chinese because i have TASTE) mostly do not seem to be doing this and i dont get it. how can you possibly expect to get the fucking gold trophy this way
that said, my other Strat rn is to study chinese until i get the 2x xp bonus, then switch over to german to farm xp, because i tested really far into the german course (ages ago i was using it to review grammar, i mostly did not learn german off duolingo) and didnt do any of the timed challenges or legendary challenges (i didnt care to farm xp but im also not sure they even existed at the time). honestly its pretty decent german review because i continue to be terrible at grammar :/ i'm sufficiently fluent in german that i can finish the challenges faster so it's really good for xp farming, but i'm also kind of annoyed with myself for letting my original goals of learning chinese and japanese be distorted by incentives into reviewing german

hi sara! have you played re4r/separate ways? i really really really love your take on aeon, and would love to hear what you think about the new aeon characterization if you've played the game! hope you're doing well!
Whoa. This ask gave me a huge wave of nostalgia for when this blog was mostly multi-paragraph analyses of videogame characters posted at 1 am. I miss that.
I've played RE4R up through Chapter 3, and so naturally, haven't picked up Separate Ways. Why haven't I finished it? Well, for one I'm still knee-deep in LoZ: Tears of the Kingdom, also known as the game that never ends, it goes on and on, my friend (at least for semi-completionists like me). But mostly, Resident Evil has stopped scratching The Itch, and Leon and Ada are included in that. No longer makes brain go brrrr; no longer makes noggin hum like microwave. Every time I see some drop dead gorgeous Aeon art, I go, "Maybe...?" and then nothing happens.
If I get through the game and DLC and have thoughts that are worth furiously clacking out on a keyboard, then I'll definitely post them here. In the meantime, thank you. I still get comments on my old fics (some of which I still need to reply to, nobody look at me) telling me my take is their favorite or that it altered their perspective, and I'm always very teary-eyed-emoji when I hear things like that.

Genuine question about the boundaries here.
Are people allowed to make emojis exalty like yours? (I mean, tbh We'd wanna help with the making of them so then production and requests can swell down. Less stress for you tbh.)
We've sorta answered this before with
I don't want people to make them exactly like ours but we aren't gonna stop anyone from doing so and it's mostly like cause of various neurodivergent stuff idk which one never really looked into it
But unless we go into a project expecting to collaborate on it we hate the idea of making it a collaborative thing later on it's the same way with chores sometimes where it's like ive done 3 loads of laundry if you touch my last load I'm gonna be upset even though I hate laundry it's my project I wanna finish it
There is also the fact that we do want more designs in the world we only know of like two other people making pixel flag hearts and they're both different and having more variety is fun be it sizing, with or without a boarder, the type of shine the shape of the heart itself more round hearts or more detailed (also different shapes all together since ive only seen like hearts, rectangles and one set of stars)
There is also the fact that we don't actually get a lot of requests we usually get maybe three a week 90% of the hearts we've posted were just because we wanted to make em making the hearts is how we destress it's our favorite and most consistent hobby and it satisfies our completionist desires like yea we will never make every identity but we have already surpassed 500 quickly reaching 600 and that's awesome! The big number go up give so much serotonin!
But back to the not stopping anyone we really don't wanna gatekeep like an emoji design just because it agitates our brain so if you want to go ahead I have the program we use in the pinned for that reason we just won't look at it because of the agitation so it's like you have permission even if we don't want people to because we acknowledge it's a silly thing to dislike ya know?
I've thought about it a little more since the first ask so if you want you can also tag them as "spade don't look" but go crazy go stupid have fun

Unfortunately I went to sleep way too late so I've been tired this whole time ð (Just couldn't get to sleep)

So uhhh how have you been? How did you sleep? Also cool stuff about that image! I just really like demon (and angel) imagery, especially with wings or tails
...Side note, how do you get yourself to write? How do you manage to just. write? I have a story I wanna write and ideas and great characters and all that but I can't get myself to actually start writing it properly. Especially because I struggle with phrasing sentences correctly and come up with the story out of order :/

but yeah!! I've been good, I slept well and for long enough, although I'm a night owl so I went to bed at around 1am haha. had my lunch and I'm gonna let that settle before I get on my pc and write.

HAHAHAHA icl!!! it's not always easy!!! I find that it's best to break it down into little stages and convince myself to make a "little start" <- I'm a completionist, so once I make a start I won't put it down until it's finished or I exhaust myself lolol. I've gotten better at taking breaks, which is also really important if you write. it's easy to sign yourself up for too many WIPs (like I did with kinktober).
I find that listening to music that reminds me of what I wanna write and just... casually mulling ideas over in my mind until it all eats away at me, so I just have to write it so that it doesn't consume my thoughts lol. I'd suggest bullet pointing what you want to happen in a doc, because then you can change the order. you don't have to write chronologically! hell, your story doesn't even have to be chronological.
the best advice I can give for phrasing, syntax, grammar, yada yada yada... is to read more. especially reading older literature rather than sticking to contemporary. you'll pick up tricks really quickly if you do that!!

I know he's a character that you know a shitton about so it doesn't really make sense to do a general overview of him on an ask from you...
BUT I did the other two of the main trio for the previous two and the completionist within me won't let this chance escape me.
Kyoentaro is the primary vampire character of The Dead and The Divine. He is "The Bone Vampire" meaning that - in addition to consuming blood as all vampires do - he eats, can generate, and manipulate bones.
The Bone Vampire can politely be described as "a vengeance enthusiast" obsessed with Tsukitaro (who was once his best friend) to the point that he threw away his humanity just for a chance to close the gap between them. He's like this because Tsukitaro killed Kyoentaro's father back when they were in Middle School. Kyoentaro's dad definitely had it coming, however, as he was routinely kidnapping their classmates to offer up to a vampire in hopes of becoming one someday. Upon finding out about this, Kyoentaro admits that his dad probably had it coming, but his quest for vengance against Tsukitaro remains, because, to him, it was always just as much if not more about the feeling of being betrayed by his best friend than it was about the whole "killing my shithead dad" thing.
And if that last sentence didn't clue you in (well, you've been clued in for months at this point Kar, so that's probably more to everyone else) Kyo's obsession with Tsuki crosses the line into homoeroticism...just a little bit. Only sometimes. That definitely isn't an understatement.
While Kyoentaro's vengeance certainly has a high priority to him, he isn't quite obsessed with it as he'd like others (and perhaps even himself) to believe. He cares deeply for his sire, Baroness Kiara, beyond the simple servant-master loyalty expected of broodlings to their sires, viewing the older vampire as an older sister (an affection Kiara returns, even if the particulars of vampire society and nature means it doesn't exactly come across to outsiders very well), and still maintains an interest in his hobbies and passions from when he was mortal, a far cry from the single-minded, vengeance at all costs persona he tries to portray to others.
Like Tsukitaro, Kyoentaro is a fucking gamer. Kyoentaro's video game of choice was Monster Hunter, and he was a Dual Blades main. And again, like Tsukitaro, Kyoentaro would use this as the basis for his fighting style, with his bone blades being themed around the ones in Monster Hunter World, and loosely adapting his fighting style from the Dual Blades moveset. His favorite monster in the franchise is Lagiacrus and his least favorite is Gobul, with his favorite game being Monster Hunter World Iceborne (even if the lack of Lagiacrus is a completely unforgivable sin).
Now, some new Kyo lore to make it worth the time it took ya to type "penvil emoji" into my askbox:
The village Kyoentaro's mother moved them into after the whole "Tsuki kills Kyo's dad" thing happened is a very, very transparent homage to Hinamizawa from Higurashi When They Cry
Kyoentaro has a...not quite rocky but perhaps "sickeningly stagnant" relationship with his mother, not even bothering to tell her that he's become one of the undead. She largely locked herself away and became a shut-in out of paranoia that eventually a vampire would come to kill her for knowing to much after her husband's deal with a now-dead vampire fell through. If she were to find out about her son's undead condition, her first reaction would probably be a sigh of relief that she's less likely to be hunted down by wider vampire society. Tragically, before discovering the truth about Kyoentaro's father, she was quite an attentive and caring mother, before (perhaps rightful) paranoia changed all of that.

- the way that he wore aftershave for the first month we were dating
- his deep voice + his laughter
- offering his hand to me so i can hold it
- how heâs a completionist
- how heâs so particular about certain things (like having cabinet doors be fully closed)
- how he smells (he smells good for some reason, and itâs not the deodorant)
- all the spots and birthmarks and scars on his body
- headbanging at shows, but also protecting me if necessary

My first dive into any sort of writing challenge and it was Whumptober -- honestly, it's a very me challenge! I wanted to do completionist but I don't think I'll be making that, but I'm just happy I'm able to participate at all!
Please enjoy this take on the Day 1 prompt of Bound.
Also huge shoutout to @tsundanire and @thecourtsorcerer for their help in building the idea for this prompt because I was at a total loss and I was quite upset that I was about to fail day 1. You both are life savers and I adore you both.

i can really picture all the kids just grouping together and doing tasks and enjoying it. no imposter just flash games on a spaceship
its a game about lying so i think theyâd play it and have fun with that aspect, flowey loves winning video games hes a true gamer
tho i totally agree theyâd play games of the more peaceful nature. they always play minecraft and chara is 100% vegan and helps out the villagers. they love the exploration aspect. they mod the game to get new biomes and stuff. flowey has like, 5 dragon eggs and plays throughout the night. a total completionist. he crafts a ton of stuff and builds cities and castles. frisk has a bee farm and just vibes around, follows chara on adventures sometimes. they have like, 50 cats in their house

Hey there! So youâve stumbled across my tumblr then. Let me tell you, youâre in for a rollercoaster and a half. Honestly, Iâm a bit of a nightmare sometimes and the routes my mind goes are not quite for those with no crackhead energy. In short, I take ideas and roll with them even if they literally seem like I dragged said idea out of a sewer and then through several bushes. Sometimes they work, other times the chaos is a bit too uncontrollable. If that works for you, then hey thisâll be just fine!
⥠GENERAL INFO
My name is Milk, which realistically, I probably should have said at the beginning but did I think about that? Pfft, no. Before you ask, what kind of cruel parent names their child âMilkâ, its actually a nickname and for some reason I actually liked it enough that it stuck. So please call me Milk!
I go by she/her pronouns because Iâm sick like that. Yeah, itâs true. Iâm a female. Make sure to drink your respect women juice or kneecaps will be lost to the great unknown.
If you couldnât already tell by my absolutely stunning introduction, I am 100% an extrovert and down to be your friend. For those of you who want to delve deeper into my personality, Iâm an ENFP-J and I am a Type 4 according to the Enneagram test, which is pretty awesome in my opinion. Oh, and my zodiac signs are pisces (sun and rising) and aries (moon).
Before any of yâall go ahead and try and get at it (Iâm kidding, really!), Iâm a minor. I may sound/appear to be older than I am but trust me sisters, I really ainât. Itâs actually rather frustrating when bus drivers donât believe my age. Just because I like to wear the clothes I do and express myself, they do be out here thinking Iâm old enough to get that more expensive bus ticket. Nuh uh fellas.
⥠COOL DETAILS
Well technically, theyâre cool to me but if theyâre not cool to you thatâs totally fine to me. Honestly, I wouldnât be surprised if you loved me already. Iâm kidding of course, if you ever saw me in real life, youâd be amazed at how different I acted. Or, maybe not, recently Iâve grown just as flamboyant in the outside world as I am here.
Despite my nickname being Milk, Iâm lactose intolerant. I tend to ignore that though, so if you ask if I want a milkshake or ice cream I will say yes. Cowâs milk on itâs own is gross though.
Iâm a Nintendo game fanatic. I basically became a shut in when I got Breath Of The Wild, I just couldnât stop. Itâs an interesting game to play when youâre a completionist.
I write some of my own songs from time to time. I play the ukulele and keyboard, though itâs self taught. I used to play a brass instrument but I hated it. It does not feel great on my lips and my teacher wasnât nice.
My dreams have a varying level of weirdness but one thing is for certain: they always have a damn good plot. Sometimes I wake up and Iâm like damn, I need to flesh that out and write it. Thatâs some dystopian novel type shi-
I used to play netball and my position was wing attack. I sucked at actually catching the ball but I could throw it in the net quite accurately. Now I stick to sports like badminton and tennis but theyâre solely for fun.
I make a playlist every month that documents my favourite songs from the previous month (and I add a few songs Iâve never heard before to widen my taste) so I can remember the exact events later.
I lowkey have sensory issues though. There are just some noises and some textures that make me want to curl up and cry. The noises are the worst in the long run because even afterwards I feel like I can hear them.
My youtube recommended page is literally Nintendo gamers, cooking videos, TikToks and random minute long videos. Itâs honestly the biggest mess but it perfectly describes me as a person.
My favourite colours are pink and yellow! I try to surround myself with the two colours because subconsciously they make you feel happier and love yourself more. Also, bright colours are cute!!
I practise witchcraft and I have a small collection of crystals. My grimoire is starting to fill up more and more! I consider myself a psychic witch as I focus a lot on the future and past aspects of life.
Iâm considered a gifted student, surprise surprise, and I actually really hate it. The expectations and standards people have for me are suffocating. Sometimes I wish I wasnât the sharpest tool in the shed.
Speaking of not being the sharpest tool in the shed, one time me and my friends performed all star at a singing competition. It went horribly but the comedic value was 10/10.
Oh yeah, I sing by the way! I competed in the school competition this year and although I didnât win I truly blew everyone in the audience away with my phenomenal outfit (and the fact that I didnât suck like last year).
I stayed up for three days trying and failing to crack the twenty one pilots level of concern codes, each time giving up and waiting for the discord server to find them. (God bless those angels).
I think if I were a Pop Tart flavour Iâd be hot fudge sundae. This might be biased because theyâre my favourite but do we care? No!
Okay last one because I just realised how much I started rambling about myself. I love giving my friends nicknames that only I call them. I actually get annoyed when someone else uses said nickname.
