Damn if only they didn't have tadpole children otherwise they'd totally have iPad toddlers smh smh- no doubt on Galvan Prime (or whatever edition of planet they're on if you don't retcon it's destruction in the Highbreed arc) they'd already found an interest in many variations of video games, even if predominantly it's not socially acceptable in most galvan cultures to be an adult in full pursuit of a gamer, not that there isn't a market for it because expectations breeds exceptions.

Because of the majority of galvan intellects steer towards the sciences, galvan video game developers probably tend to target younger fresh-out-of-the-pond adolescents with educational games, a combination of fun and learning. But these are galvans we're talking about, so no Mario Teaches Typing or Leap Frog levels of baby smarts games, more like Brain Training and significantly more difficult than what you get here. It's not to say 'fun for fun's sake' games don't exist, just that these are really the only games that early learning galvan really get until they have control over their own financial responsibilities.

I'm not saying that galvan who prefer more entertaining games later in life are unintelligent, but I am saying that Blukic and Driba seem the type to game for fun-

the post kinda brings this up, but also not really, and it's one thing that bothers me a bit with these discussions

like, enjoying extreme kinks/whump/etc when it is the role of the dominant/aggressor that appeals to you is also fine. consensual/fictional sadism is fine. people tend to go 'oh no, xyz fantasy is fine because most people fantasize about being the one in the receiving end!' and like, true, that is very common, and fine, but a fantasy of being the one who has the power, who is in control, is also ok.

'creepydoms' absolutely do exist. people using kink as a smokescreen to enable their abuse do exist. that's why you vet your play partners. but dominants, sadist, what have you, are not horrible abusive monsters by default for their preferences.

and. boy was there little material to be found when i was researching top/dom drop. because yea, that exists! people talk about subdrop, and how subs need/deserve aftercare, and need boundaries, and safewords, the whole deal, but nowhere near as many mention that all of this applies to doms/tops as well. their boundaries matter. their consent matters. they deserve care and compassion.

in bdsm, negotiation, safewords, etc are not there to 'protect' the sub from the dom, they're there to help ensure everyone has a good experience. feeling obligated to entertain a partner's intense kink as a dom can go extremely wrong extremely easily just as much as it can in the reverse situation.

and dom drop, even when you do enjoy a thing? it can be seriously bad, and not made easier by the knowledge that you've taken on a role of someone despised, who is at complete odds with your actual moral compass; no matter how well-established good consent was, no matter how much of a good time everyone might have had. it was harrowing reading when i found first-hand accounts instead of general surface-level educational material.

(my opinion on all of this was not different before but holy fuck did reading those comments cement it.)

no one's supposed to feel like that after engaging in fantasy or consensual play. feeling like you are a horrible monster is not a punishment to bear for a fantasy/kink, regardless of the role you take on (or in case of fic, the pov you enjoy). things can go wrong; people can go into stuff unprepared, they might not realize how something might effect them until shit already hit the fan, a drop might come well after a scene when you thought you were fine. but people, including tops/doms, are supposed to get something good out of these fantasies and scenes.

I think this is a “popular” opinion but not widespread—people need to understand that there is so much nuance to reading. Obviously there’s the “you can like things I don’t like” and vice versa, but also in HOW people enjoy things. Like take Fourth Wing (I know I know), but while I also agree with a lot of the complaints, I still was just like “that was a fun time, I totally ignored all the sex scenes bc I hate how they were written, but I was vibing the whole time.” And I feel like some people would still respond to my opinion like “okay but it was so horrible how did you even enjoy it at all??? Lame”

Like okay Betty, I love high fantasy as much as you, but sometimes I want something that just fucks, okay?

(and not to say you aren’t allowed to not like things, but there seems to be a fine line between “hey! I didn’t like this but that’s okay” and “I hated this and I CANNOT comprehend why ANYONE could find even an inkling of fun from this + I’m going to subtly implicate that I think people who like this are stupid”) (obviously not for books that are objectively hurtful or offensive)

And of course you can go so many different ways than just that example, but it’s a mix of gate-keeping, prejudice, lack of empathy, and a bit of a superiority complex that makes it so hard for the reading community to really be united.

Without the Bear of the West, the Three Families probably defected into Caesar or fell to the Legion or just straight up deserted House once they realized a couple hundred tanks on tricycles would never be able to stand up to the Several Thousand Trained Berserkers that make up Caesar's Legion by year 2277.

I'm just curious as to what the Tin Can Buffoons will do to him when they find him. Or if he's made contact with Boston yet as his own last stand hail mary, though that part's purely wishful thinking.
