The Owl House: Charis!AU

Context: the Wittebane brothers get tragically separated in their youth. One is thrown abruptly in the future, while the other remains stuck in the past, how will this change their story?

Is been a while since I have updated anything about my Charis!AU- hence, here we are with a brand new redesign! This time, the unique and inimitable Eda the Owl Lady!

I am extremely proud of her design, I think is faithful enough to the original while having a very personal touch that differentiate it from it without loosing its essence. As always, some details:

- I wanted to keep the same vibes for her dress- the color red and the sharp edges are simply perfect to represent Eda, who surely has a sharp mind and personality + gives her the perfect witchy vibes HENCE I decided to use those sharp edges on many spots, as I really wanted to emphasize them as a pattern that distinguishes her from the others

- I think the potions on her waist go without any explaining. Eda, in my AU, is still affected by the owl beast curse, but she is much more careful about it than in the series. The “wanted” posters are no joke in my AU, which forces her to hide more and be less flashy. Her being a wild witch isn’t the main cause of concern, but the owl beast herself is why she is being haunted down, and she cannot risk to loose control, hence why she carries her elixir everywhere.

- the amulet she had on her chest in the original series, that would get more or less dark depending on the status of her curse, has been replaced by the yellow sphere that is holding her cape, as I wanted to disguise it more in her design, as again, she doesn’t want to attract too much attention

-all this hiding, is also the reason for her to wear a cape, and her hair being less big and voluminous than in the original series, although she still does keep more or less the same hairstyle

The Owl House season 2 is on the way, so it’s time to make your predictions before it’s too late.There are four main mysteries so far:

What Belos wants to do with the portal

King’s origins

Bat Queen’s origins

Who sent letters signed “Lus” (this one is less important, but still)

My prediction method follows two rules:

1. The simplest explanation is the best (Occam’s razor). 2. It’s always someone you know.

Let’s get to the predictions then.

1) Belos is planning to do something with the portal on Unity Day. He says it’s not the conquest and I choose to believe him because otherwise, it would look bad from the show’s perspective - you can’t just straight-up lie to your audience like that.I don’t think he needs the portal simply for traveling - in this case, he could have simply rented the portal from Eda. It looks like he needs full control of the portal to redesign it somehow. It’s safe to assume that all main plot lines are going to converge at one point, and the only other major plotline is the Titan. So he’s going to use the portal in a way that is somehow tied with the Titan; since it’s dead, the most obvious explanation is that he wants to resurrect him (or become a Titan, or merge with him, whatever).

2) Examples of Adegast and Snaggleback show us that a demon shrinks into a lesser form after sustaining critical damage. The shape of King’s horns resembles that of the Titan, so I think King is a shrunken form of the Titan, who most likely forgot just about everything about himself, other than that he used to be the King of demons.

3) Bat Queen is an ancient palisman, and the only real candidate for her master is the Titan (I can hear pk2317 facepalming right now). The major counterargument is that BQ should have been the size of the city to match the Titan’s size, but since we have magic, I assume she simply shrunk in size. The main issue is the age, not the size, and there is literally nobody else old enough. While we do not know Emperor’s age, the fact that he came to power 50 years ago - within a lifespan of a human or a witch - implies that he is not old enough to be BQ’s owner.

4) Rule 2 implies that letters from Lus were sent from the Demon realm since we do not know any characters from Earth other than Camila (who is the recipient) and Luz (who knows not about the letters and is unlikely to misspell her own name). The only known character from the Demon realm who has the means to send letters to Earth (portal) and who knows what to write (from the pamphlet Luz brought with her) and who has a motivation (cares about Luz and wants to cover for her) is Edalyn Clawthorne, the Owl Lady. As for the camp, they could have lost the papers and never expected Luz to show up.

There are some lesser questions, like who is Golden Guard and who wrote Azura books, but I don’t think they have any significance. I am notoriously bad at predictions. Last time I tried this method to predict Steven Universe I ended up with a theory that Pink Diamond’s shards are buried on the Moonbase, that Bismuth rigged Rose’s sword to specifically target Diamond’s gems, and that Steven’s powers are due to his organic form acting as a secondary incubator to his gem. As you can see, I couldn’t have been more wrong if I tried, so I have very low expectations about my predictions, but I have to make them nevertheless.

(The other results where that Uzi wanted to give what is more accurately a plasma cannon a redesign, Mercury simply decided they would simply use the copied attack for when demolition was needed, Adenine was very much hoping they wouldn’t see a Blade with an Ether Cannon and try to relocate that, and Azem had been facepalming the moment the “Rail-Shotgun” was clearly not going to be firing off shotgun blasts. As for what the blast hit…a bunch of Khan’s doors. He claimed he made them to “enhance the defenses”, but both Azem and, before them, Adenine, told him that doors by nature wouldn’t be as good as a wall, given that even with locks, a door is more likely to be broken than the rest of the wall for several reasons. These included the simple logic of how it wouldn’t have the same bracing as a well designed wall, how it could be torn off it’s movement track by someone or something strong enough, and how to make up for these things, you’d need to make not a door that simply keeps things out, but one as heavy and armored as a tank to even stand a chance of staying put, a design Khan wasn’t familiar with at all. At this point, Adenine was starting to get why Eda said she’d get used to the madness. It was clearly a daily occurrence, given the following reactions where just annoyance at the mess that was made. Elsewhere…a world only mentioned by Adenine was about to appear.

(A.N. Have it so instead of lots of land appearing, a massive tree and creatures (called Titans) so massive they count as walking continents (even if they don’t move by walking) are noticed at some point. Kinda hard to miss a walking landmass, so…yeah. They kinda orbit around the massive tree, for where they go)

Uzi, while confused about something: Wait, Ross, where did you even get the power core and other parts for your wannabe BFG clone?

Ross, with an offended look: First of all, rude! Secondly, I found this weird traveling salesman who wore a cloak and hid his face with a creepy sun mask, it reminded me of Moondrop but as a sun, that seemed to be able to speak as well. He offered me a bunch of weird stuff with his prosthetic hand that seemed like he had stolen it from somewhere, seeing as how it seemed way too advanced for him to create...

Uzi, while somewhat creeped out by this: Creepy...

Ross: I had bought the core due to it being the least weirdest thing in the collection...What was even weirder was that he just kept on muttering about how "Hope would destroy all of dispair"...It was incredibly creepy to be perfectly honest.

Lilith, being the first to notice it all: Either Edalyn or one of the more mischievous children spiked my coffee or there's an actual massive tree that just appeared from nowhere...

Willow, being the plant kid she is: There's a giant tree! We have to check it out!!

Helen, after noticing the giant sized titans: Let's just hope that those massive beings don't immediately attack us...

*Meanwhile, the other factions had obviously noticed the tree and all began preparing to head over there for various reasons and purposes...Including the "Sunny Salesman" who wished to give his "hope giving" wares to the people in this new location as well to the entire side of heroism and hope*

But this time I change a lot, tbh it looked better in my head and I decided last minute to give her actual owl eyes cause why not (the MCs of toh really need more diversity tbh as in they all basically look human but with pointy ears so it would be cool to give them some demon looks!)
