Shroud and Yogurt are like Tumblr User VS. Walmart on November 1st. Shroud:
In the future Would prob have He/Them pronouns, and could maybe have a crush on Michel (Ranboo and Tubbo's son, not Puffy's daughter)).
Would be a Bark no Bite for sure :3
Would curse a lot, at the smallest of things. like, if Finely walked up to him he would just: "Fuck." "But I didn't-" "Fuck."
Has a stuffed animal cow, like Henry 🥺
Really close friends with Yogurt, and Foolish JR.
Foolish JR ((aka Jr)):
Most likely would have just He/him or maybe They/them.
The mom of the friend group, would make sure everyone would be doing okay, would sometimes get carried away. Yogurt only got 3 hours of sleep? Knock him out, that will force him to get the rest he deserves.

Sorry for quick dsmp posting but erm Slime and Quackity make out sloppy style. And also slime holds Quackity tenderly. And when slime didn't 100% know how marriage worked other than it meant you loved someone a lot and you gave them something shiny he found a shiny glass piece and gave it to Quackity and asked him to marry him. And Quackity sobbed and he would accept but he's not ready because even though he's moved on he still hurts so slime will patiently wait for when he's ready. And when slime comes back after their falling out, and when they reconnect and move around each other and improve from their past it's Quackity who proposes to slime this time. Promising to continue to be better for slime and for them, and slime accepts and while Quackity may not be able to use the wedding venue like he wanted to he wouldn't trade the small celebration he and slime had for the world.

as ive been more and more accepting of my own identity as aro and started caring more about analyzing friendships and generally relationships past what they mean romantically ive felt slightly isolated (and also weirdly both like falling in and out of a stereotype) but also it is nice to care more about friendships in media than romantic ones (especially when in fandom even if the romantic relationship is based in the characters friendship all that matters is the romance) and to even care less about trying to prove i still love others or whatever. at the same time by god is it lonely and it makes me not want to get into things i may have otherwise gotten into if it wasnt advertised as a romance (whether the source was about the romance or not)
#its what made me hold off on watching toh (i didnt care to get into lumity)#(and even then its tubzo whose actually into it and has the memories of it- it still barely interests me even now that i know it-#-isnt about lumity and. is in fact not about amity? i didnt know luz was the main character at all)#and even now its sort of made me not want to get into the life series (3l ll and now double life) because the fandom seems to be mostly-#-shipping and while i respect that it is also just not for me#even if i know the source isnt actually romantic in nature or even as serious as fandom makes it to be#i just see no reason to care if the only thing i know about is the ships#maybe when i manage to get into hermitcraft ill have a connection to the ccs that lets me get into it#but for now. i do not care. i know nothing about it that would interest me#cbeeduo is lucky i got into dsmp before they got married and cared about their characters arcs separately first#and also that they have michael. i think if they werent like an active married couple with a kid i would care less#which is probably why i only really deal w mass amounts of shipping in mlp#because i mostly care abt next gens and the relationships between parents and child#and the ways people establish the ng relationships based off parent relationships#idk! a lot to think about#mask mews#personal#you are free to try and tell me what i would like abt the life series if you think id like it#but right now in all honesty i have no idea whats interesting about it outside of the concepts

MCSM/MCYT - Chaotic Daughters (NG)

Oh my God! It’s Minecraft Story Mode— it’s returned to haunt me! Nah, just kidding. :)
I just recently watched bits and pieces from the game and the Netflix series, so it sparked my nostalgia. At the moment, I’m still quite hyperfixated on the Dream SMP and the old iDots SMP, but I’ve thought about Story Mode too. So with these two fandoms both in mind, I decided to make a sort of crossover or divided render depicting characters from my next generations of either. As for the particular families I featured, I thought that my characters Zofija and Belladonna were similar to one another in terms of their powers and magical abilities. For those who need a refresher or do not know, Zofija is the daughter of Romeo and Xara (MCSM NG) and Belladonna is a6d’s adopted daughter (DSMP/iDots AU/NG). Zoe, although the child of mortal human parents, is a full-blooded admin. Bella, on the other hand, is a hybrid, consisting of half human, half draconequus. Despite their different species, they nonetheless share similar powers and as youngens have magical surges as they are unable to properly control them. Seen here, the girls both have the ability to fly. Often, preferably, or perhaps not so, Zoe likes to take a solo flight, while Bella enjoys taking others for a flight.
Just for a clarification for those who have viewed my MCSM next gen artwork from way back when, you will recall that the couple I had was a dynamic between Xara (human) and Romeo (admin). I have not made it official, nor have I thoroughly reworked my next generation and its components, but I think that if I do so, Romeo will no longer have admin powers. However, even with him and Xara both as humans, their family shall still consist of full-blooded admin children because it is the more dominant trait that runs in their genetic heritage. Just a thought, but as I said, this is not official for the MCSM next gen.

How DO I sign up for this?
We have had to squeeze the sign-up form until it screams to make this work, so buckle in. Here is an example of how to sign up on Ao3 for the recursive exchange, step by step.
I have an idea for a side story for Etho and Iskall in This Is About A Stuffed Bird, by bee_4. So, to start with— that's a hermitcraft fic.
So I select Hermitcraft on the Fandoms part of the sign-up. Note that as we add more fandoms to the list, potentially this will become a drop-down menu instead of checklists. You still select the fandom you want in the same way.
Next is Gift Style. We're using the "characters" tab for that one.
I'm good with my gift being an art, a fic, or a web weave, so I can select all three of these! If I only wanted a fic, or an art, I would only select one.
Next is the Relationship tab, which we're using for characters (told you that we were having to squeeze the signup form until it screamed).
This is a drop-down menu, and I select the characters I want— in this case, Iskall and Ethoslab. Note that possibly I will only match on one character, as we couldn't do relationship matching this time, so I try to keep that in mind when it comes to my requests!
Next is Additional Tags, which is where I select the fic that I'm actually asking for a gift about! In the future, as more fics are added, this will be a dropdown menu, but right now it's tickboxes.
Next is categories. This is our shipping on-off switch.
I've decided that I am good with shipping or not with this one, so I've selected BOTH Gen and M/M. But now that I'm on the page I'm like "I wouldn't mind it if they were lesbians either" so I have selected F/F as well.
Next is rating, which is the NSFW on-off switch. I'm good with smut or no smut, so I've selected both options.
If I wanted no smut whatsoever I could do just Gen (which could also lead to a Mature or Teen work, but excludes E-rated work), and if I definitely wanted there to be dicks out I could select only Explicit.
Then we get to the major archive warnings. This is where you opt-in to archive warnings— it doesn't mean I will necessarily get them, but I'm okay with them! The matching says you might get any one of the things you select here.
Given the source material, I'm opting into Violence and Death as options, and I'm also selecting no warnings apply to show that I'm also good with no major archive warnings!
Now on to the actual request!
There's a space where I could link a letter if I wanted to go into detail with my request, but I think I can fit it in the text box today! I had to put my DNW on the Ao3, and because I said I was open to smut I included a NSFW DNW.
Okay, on to request two.
As you can see, for request two I'm doing a DSMP fic this time, and I specifically want art or web weaves! I selected emerald duo, and the fic I want. And I just want this one to be no shipping, so I only selected Gen for the type of relationship.
I opted out of explicit for this one, and I did say graphic violence was okay OR no archive warnings apply.
On to request three!
This is much like request two, except I only want fic for this one! But it's Dream SMP, Fic requested, the characters I want (techbur twins), the fic I want (catbag), I want it to be Gen and no shipping, no NSFW, I'm okay with graphic depictions of violence, and my prompt!
Now on to my offers.
I'm gonna start with Stuffed Bird again.
So it's a Hermitcraft fic, I am only able to make fic for it, but you know what, I'll write literally anybody in this world. Hit me. I selected any relationship (which in this case means any CHARACTER). And I selected any TYPE of relationship too— yes I'll write any type of shipping or non-shipping. I can't write smut though, so I only selected General for the rating, and I will absolutely do violence but I am not good with MCD or noncon, so I didn't select those.
For my second request, I opened up catbag.
That's a Dream SMP fic, but this time I only wanted to do specific characters. I set it up so that I'd write any combination of SBI, Beeduo, and Quackity. No shipping for me with this one, and no smut, but yes I'll do graphic violence.
And then on to odaigahara's fic!
That's a Dream SMP fic, and I think I could make a web weave for that one, so I selected both fic and web weave. I only want to write Emerald Duo for it, so I just selected them. No shipping, only Gen for this one, and no smut, only gen as well. I don't feel like doing graphic depictions of violence for thisone, so I just selected no archive warnings apply!
For my final one, I really want to make sure that I'm matchable on femslash, so I did a bit of a basket offer.
I selected both Hermitcraft and 3rd life, and selected that I would be making fic. I selected all the ladies (+iskall, for stresskall), and when it came time to select an additional tag, which is what fic I'm saying I'll match on, I selected any. With that and the F/F tag selected, it means that I'll be matchable to any Hermit-Traffic femslash request, no matter which story or art it's attached to. Cause I figure I can read the source material and make something in the creation time period!
So that is 3 requests and 4 offers done, and I have a full sign-up! I'm ready to go! That is how you sign up! Over the course of the sign-up period I might keep an eye on other people's sign-ups (available at the Ao3 automagic app) and tweak my sign-ups so that I'm matchable with someone (or several someones), but for right now, I'm good to go!

This is a very half-formed thought but just. Hmmm. Okay so in DSMP fandom we talk a fair amount at how excellent it is that we focus in on platonic relationships a lot of the time (though that's shifting with the rise of TNTduo). And you get the idea that romance is sort of bad, which I don't have time for as a stance, or that it's reductive to reduce people down to only their romantic relationships. And that is very valid.
People operate as part of part of a complex web of relationships, and most of the relationships in your life are not going to be romantic. If you boil someone down to only their romantic relationship, that's no good, and if it was in real life it'd be unhealthy if you only had one solid relationship (romantic) in your life. It's a shallow depiction of life to boil someone down to only their romance, and this even gets more so if you're talking about erotic writing and how people get reduced down to roles like "top" or "bottom", etc.
And if all you're seeing is shallow romantic writing, I can see how that gets really old. However, the thing that's been driving me up the wall is that if all you're seeing is shallow platonic writing, that is no more reflective of the diversity of the human condition. Like SBI is the big platonic relationship in the fandom, and in it my guys are Phil and Techno. And they're the relationship in that quartet who tends to get the short end of the stick, and so they get reduced down to "dad" or "older brother" a lot of the time. So much of the time. Most of the time. Their character gets entirely reduced down to who they are in service of someone else's arc.
Which is exactly what people complain about in romance, it's just with no kissing.
And sometimes it's like, the point of the work is not to give everyone on the field a full and rich depiction, because this is a 5k one-shot, and and there are 38 people in the DSMP, I'm picking one character to focus on and everybody else is in service to that character. That's fine and that's just how writing works.
But thinking about fandom trends more broadly, and the character trends— phil is "dad", techno is "older brother" or sometimes "dad", niki is "girl next door/baker", tubbo is "supportive quirky best friend"— half the time it's tagged crimeboys but even wilbur is just operating as "big brother/dad", just with more screen time. You have all these characters who have one role only, ever, over and over again. And that is no more groundbreaking or innovative or reflective of the human condition than a romance-focused fandom is, it's just that everybody's clothes stay on.
And like, I love Gen, Gen is what I love to write, but it's not inherently better at reflecting humanity, not unless you work at it. All types of relationships are hard to write and complex, romance is just another type of relationship. So I don't quite get the hatred for romance as a worse type of writing/relationship to focus on.

i love next gen aus and you’re not cringe for making them. its a fun way to keep your love for a fandom going.
on the same note its not cringe or dumb if you make ocs within the dsmp fandom, or any fandom. most fandoms have ocs ppl make to be apart of the universe. dunno why people think its so cringe to do in the dsmp.
there’s plenty of plot and loopholes, groups of people, entire towns and populations that hypothetically have citizens with no one to play them.
its just fun. if you’re having fun and not hurting people. do it.
make the next gen ocs. kids of a silly ship or stupid idea, make a whole au.
make self insert or persona or just ocs in general to fit into the storyline. give a dropped or scrapped plotline some ppl to carry it on. its fun and i think ppl would be way happier in this fandom space if they did that.

also one thing that makes me a bit upset is the fact that in about 3-5 years, the next gen of minecraft players will be asking us why we dye our beds red, why we tame ocelots and go for the Jelly cat. They're gonna question why we talk about roses, and why we go for the light grey wolves. They're gonna question why we do redstone the way we always do, and ask who the Hermitcraft/Empires/Life smp members are. All They're gonna know is the dsmp and qsmp, and there's nothing wrong with that. They're going to ask why we have every recipe memorised, and in a few more years than that They're gonna ask who Technoblade is. When we make an Aha joke, say Snappers or mention DesertDuo, FlowerHusbands, NatureWives, and other ships, They're gonna tilt their heads and look confused. This won't be their faults, but it still will make me upset.
Oh wow that is gonna be fascinating and bittersweet to watch... I hadn't even considered/realized half of these yet, like the wolves and the various ships and CC mannerisms/bits
I think it's gonna be neat getting to introduce people to them for the first time, and teach about them to the next generation of mcyt/Minecraft fans tho. Like I didn't know about the roses until I watched Joel and Lizzie play early versions of the game, or how I discovered Hermitcraft late s9 and never knew TFC, but then I've learned about those things from the community and creators
It's definitely gonna be odd and a bit sad tho, especially as the transition starts and the first few times each thing is missed or forgotten
It'll be strange seeing newer fans just as unknowledgeable on my faves as I am on the previous generation of mcyts (the ones so many of my peers watched when they were kids, who's names I barely know, but who seem to have been very dear to a lot of people)

… I’m about to bite off waaaaaay more than I can chew with fanfics. I fully blame @homunculus101 for this. (Love you <3)
If you’re following any of my fics on AO3… I apologize for any delays in the current ones. But my Artemis Fowl brainrot just kicked up a notch. Fics are incoming in the next few days, and maybe even an update to the Jon Says No to Fairies AU.
I am allowing my DSMP brainrot to sit for a few days just to give myself a break from the… everything. But there might be some c!DiscDuo angst/fluff coming down the pipeline, plus the fic I’m working on for the gen bigbang event. So I’m not abandoning ship anytime soon.
If I’m found unresponsive in the five to seven business days, just know that I didn’t choose the fanfic life. The fanfic life chose me.

so, i wanna talk about my au titled “the valley” (based off of this song by the oh hellos)
to briefly summarize the premise of this au, all of the current dsmp kids (michael_beloved, yogurt, etc.) are about 12 years older and have moved back to the actual dsmp area (much to their parents’ reluctance) and are honestly trying to raise the server back to it’s former glory.
oh yeah, and ghost!dream is there and causing problems. he’s just as bad as he was when he was alive, just that he can’t really (physically) hurt anyone anymore.
michael despises him :)
