A surf tumbled piece of a small geode with shimmering crystal druzy. Absolutely one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever found.

The word Druzy refers to the accumulation of small crystals. These crystal intergrowths can be formed by many different minerals- the species and shapes of crystals formed are dependent on fluid composition and the size is formed from fluid temperature and pressure.

On this piece, the black color of the druzy comes from the amount of magnesium that is comprised in the quartz. The more magnesium , the darker it will be! In this case, a stunning midnight black that shimmers with thousands of tiny stars✨
