When Christine first arrived at Skyhold, winter had yet to fully settle into the rock and soil of the mountains. The river below was just short of freezing, and snow came only in light, powdery dustings that left patches of brown autumn grass poking through the tattered blanket of white.
However, after the chandelier fell, a storm stirred in the mountains, sending a bitter chill slithering its way into Skyhold like a wintery serpent, eager to bite.
Little Lotte, where is your red scarf?
New chapter of my Solavellan Phantom of the Opera AU is up. Hope you all enjoy :)
Breaking my Sin Art hiatus to fulfill several prompts. Drawtober’s “Garden of Magick,” the Fen’Harem Discord’s “Somno/Sleepy,” & @whumptober’s “Disoriented.” See the full, nsfw version here.
I'm VERY happy how this piece turns out! Try to push my self on painting without line art. I was inspired from @nipuni's FF fanart here I'm still learning with composition on creating illustration😅.
I choose the pose pretty specific for Solas of why he hold her head like that, because I remembered in Trespasser he said something like "I don't want you to see of what I'll become" he wants her to look the other way and just enjoy the peace he gives before he'll tear down the veil, with a broken heart and aching feeling. But Lavellan choose not to look the other way that's why she still look at us, look ahead what Thedas will have to deal with a heavy heart and face someone who she love.
contrary to fandom opinion, i don’t believe theo raeken ever saw the dread doctors as parents or even mentor figures. to theo, the dread doctors were his god. his backstory is a dark inversion of the pinocchio story– a boy who dreams of outgrowing his human body for smth greater
when someone creates you– physically manufactures a new body/soul from you– and can subvert human will to reshape your memories and beliefs, you have met god. theo was not a son, but rather a prophet for their doctrine.
he wanted to become a “real” supernatural, but was abandoned along the way. the doctors deeming him a FAILURE was not just a stomp on his ego. its the moment god walked away. it was where he lost all identity and purpose.
building up to this moment, he was promised power– to one day become the prophesied “Beast” and help rule the supernatural world. with the doctors classifying him unworthy, theo became an empty vessel. a puppet with its strings cut.
theo was stuck as something in between supernatural and natural, monstrous in the way he had no belonging at all. belonging is theo’s ultimate goal, which is reinforced often. he wants a pack, wants to be supernatural, wants the doctors approval, etc.
its why he was partial to staying with the mccall pack post-hell. he could’ve left but stayed in an effort to find a new doctrine. they were familiar and strange and all he had left of his identity. without the dregs of his prior life, theo raeken was a substanceless name
i mean, theo means “gift of god” for fucks sake!! there are a lot of ways christianity bleeds into teen wolf’s plot since its a pretty religious show despite it all, but i think theo’s story is fascinating
So, as requested, here's that same compilation again, but in German, for your hearing pleasure, but be warned, you might want to prepare yourself for a mild disappointment. 😂 No but I'm actually in tears right now, because half of these don't even sound like he'S BEING SARCASTIC?? LMAOOO
Look, I've talked about this so many times now, but I told you guys German Solas sounds like the most innocent little bean, so when he's making all these super snide remarks, it doesn't hit even remotely as hard as in English. 😂😂😂 Do you now understand what I mean when I tell you that German Solas feels like an entirely different character? lmaoo
A few things as a side note
The part where he tells Dorian "The technique is not Tevinter, it is Elven. But do go on about the wonders of Tevinter magic" I'm cRYING, he sounds GENUINELY excited and curious to hear more about it LMAO
You can tell he's trying SO HARD to sound as sinister as possible in that line about Bull in Trespasser. lmaoo
I had to take out the line where he goes "Please speak up! I cannot hear you over your outfit!" to Dorian, because that joke was sadly completely lost in translation. In the German version, he simply says "Please speak up! I can barely hear you over all the noise!"
"May you learn" is a perfect example for how German can take an effective little line and turn it into a whole monologue. lol There's a reason why the German party banter compilation is like a whole hour longer than the English one.
The lost potential of DA2 is the idea of a singular changing city over the course of a long time period as opposed to an open-world static landscape. Majora's Mask is my favourite Zelda for a lot of different reasons but I have always been fascinated with the potential for a video game to allow you to explore a changing world which is influenced by your actions, as opposed to a theme park ride.
It just came at the wrong time - before the open world was as overdone and overwrought as it is now - and was probably done on the terms of a very contracted development cycle. But Kirkwall as a character which you could influence like you could your companions sounded like the best sort of thing Bioware could do with its RPG's.
