Born in Ala Mhigo to a small family consisting of her mother, father and sister, Khilo's first few years of life were peaceful until the Garlean invasion of the land. Her parents were both slaughtered in the attack, and her sister missing and presumed dead, Khilo was lucky enough to be found by another group of surviving Ala Mhigan's who took her with them as they journeyed to Gridania and through to Thanalan.

Knowing next to nothing about her birth family didn't truly bother her, growing up. Khilo was perfectly comfortable with the family that she'd found and grew to love in Little Ala Mhigo. As she got older, she showed an interest in pugilism and wanted to help out as best as she could. The older refugees were happy to share with her all they'd learnt as Monks. When they had taught her all they could, Khilo soon found tutelage under Hamon Holyfist, who became a good friend and mentor to her.

At 23 Summers old, Khilo chanced to meet Thancred Waters and was soon brought into the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. They quickly became family to her, and there's nothing she wouldn't do for them.

Khilo is an outgoing and optimistic individual who might be a bit clumsy at times, but don't underestimate her. Those who don't know her may call her childish, but Khilo is one of the first to take a situation seriously. She's fiercely loyal to those she considers family and friends, and if you've wronged her or someone she cares about, she is not quick to forgive or forget.

She's eager to befriend almost everyone she meets on her journey, collecting quite a catalogue of allies from all over the star and beyond. She's always first in line to help you with anything you might need- be it a simple grocery run, or saving your brother currently being attacked by monsters.

The funniest thing about the Sohm Al dungeon is that when I did it for the first time I did it with the NPC party- Ysayle, Alphinaud, and Estinien. It was all going swell but I, a dragoon main, CONSTANTLY found myself trying to outdo Estinien??

like GIRL calm down he's just an NPC 😭 what's he gonna do, gloat about how he's going to kill all the dragons and pull out all the stops and use all the limit breaks?

(so I had to scroll back to find what I had even tagged this with for context and YEAH LMAO THE 5.5 INSTANCES I AM SO NORMAL ABOUT THE 5.5 INSTANCES. I think about them a normal amount.)

So we've all done the patch 5.5 battle instances where they split the party of Scions to fight off the different primals and they do the really cool cinematic battle table mini simulation? Yeah? Okay.

So the final party is us, Estinien, and I think Alphinaud fighting Ifrit. And at the last fucking second Estinien does his draconic replicant thing and singlehandedly one shots all nine of the infernal nails with Stardiver.

I have massive fucking brainrot about the Stardiver dragon double thing with him and Kitali because the first time we see him do that is on the Final Steps while he's still 'Hogged and trying to kill her, and then the next time (in my canon at least) is when he saves her out from Elidizenos' blade in the Ghimlyt Dark. And then the third time is a last ditch effort to protect both her and Alphinaud from this pseudo-primal.

And it's very much a running theme of Kitali being far more comfortable using her draconic abilities than Estinien because hers were gifted and freely accepted while his were the result of a hostile takeover. And he had also spent probably at least a decade under the influence of the Eye, and having to train himself to be under full restraint at all times, so big bursts of emotion are not something he's used to. And Nidhogg's whole self determined creed was to be the protector of the star, and now Estinien has taken it upon himself to continue carrying that mantle of guardian. He always walks at the back of the group like a shepherd protecting his flock. He is the Great Pyrenees of the Scions.

And so every time he has a huge burst of Must Protect My Loved Ones and uses the big Nidhogg guns I go a little feral for it (I am STILL. NOT. RECOVERED. FROM THE 6.5 POST TRIAL CUTSCENE. HOLY FUCK. LAHFOLSHS I'M SO FUCKING GAY anyways-) OH AND THE FUCKING CANNON THING IN STORMBLOOD I FORGOT THAT WAS ALSO STARDIVER.

So yeah four times he's done that, and three of them were to protect Kitali. He is full of love and guardianship. I am so very incredibly normal about this man and my wolship they give me immense psychic damage (affectionate). Thank you for indulging me lmao.

Just realized it's been a week I didn't play FFXIV and that after I reach that Heavensward part.

The " A smile... better suits a hero." part in english.

And in french "But you... You have such a beautiful smile... Try to not forget mine...."

Definitively in my top 5/top 10 lines that hurt my soul deeply.

And Alphi and the others doesn't make things easier when they say "I didn't know you were so close/had such a relationship.". Like bitch... Are you trying to make me cry ? Like I don't need to know. I know that Haurchefant was flirty with the WoL but not sure I would be able to handle it if they were in a romantic relationship or a queerplatonic relation so deep that it hurts bc WoL reaction was already hurting me by dropping to the knees and holding so gently his hand with their own so adding this and make it canon ?

It's the killing blow.

Well done Yoshi-P, well fucking done. But also you goddamn bastard. How dare you hurt my feelings like this. Do you want to take away what's left of my tears that Honkai Impact 3rd chapter 25 of main story, "Everlasting Flames" animation, the end of the Kolosten arc, "Thus Spoke Apocalypse" animation and the whole Elysian realm arc hasn't take from me ?
