You can't introduce a new villain at the start of a season with a "hardy har funny" MCU humor joke
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And expect me to take them seriously as the big bad of the season later

You're not unstoppable, Tim. You're a Smurf with cottage cheese smeared on your face. Sit down.

Im so so so frustrated by the lack of emotions the actors in season 11 display.
The 13th doctor is good, i like her more and more, but her companions (especially Ryan) i feel lack any sort of emotion. I havnt seen them get really sad, Mad or happy. In the Witchfinder eps The Doctor was literally getting drowned, and they had no, like, realistic reaction. I dont even feel like ive seen them get really scared yet???
They r just kinda getting dragged along, expressing the bare minimum.

"Not a big believer in Satan."
hundreds of years and the Doctor is still in denial that she literally met Satan, lmao

Honestly my biggest complaint about s11 is the lack of Historical costumes for the fam. There's just something about the Doctor's friends in full 'accurate' dress while they just prance around looking like a gay fever dream.

Thirteenth Doctor Moodboard for my fanfic ^^ it's a 13th doctor x fem! oc, I really wanted to write a story for her, but I was still on 12ths arc, but I just started season 11 and I already love 13, she's so awkwardly adorable <3

ok i watched doctor who when season 11 first came out but i dropped it right before the season finale and I'm rewatching all of my favorite episodes with my boyfriend (plus david tennant coming back) so I decided to pick up season 11 again and I have a bone to pick with the finale.
Like, Jodie as the Doctor is not an issue for me, I love her adhd brain and the way that she doesn't explain things well, which I think is a fun contrast to when the Doctor would explain things perfectly at 90 miles an hour and the humans just wouldn't get it anyway. But i think the season finale just cemented that she doesn’t feel like the doctor.
The entirety of season 11 had great ideas conceptually and i feel like if we had the old writing team, the episodes would have been sucked off by everyone watching.
Bringing a dalek back made me excited for the episode, but knowing that it was a dalek from the very beginning really made the issues I have with this episode just stand out more purely because my expectations were higher.
One of my favorite things about the Doctor is that he has such a tragic past. When past regenerations encountered a dalek, their personality would change immediately and become cold no matter their current personality. The Doctor is haunted by the memories that he has with the Daleks and that always would shine through with whatever actor was playing him. Jodie is not a bad actor, and I think that she portrayed the Doctor wonderfully, I just feel like the writing crew let her down.
This episode was a great way to try and connect this season with the past seasons and the nostalgia that we all feel when thinking about our Doctor of the past. The only thing that stood out to me as a direct callback was the Dalek saying the iconic "The Doctor is an enemy of the Daleks" (which I loved, I am a sucker for the daleks). Like, even when she was throwing the Dalek away she could have called back to what happened to the Daleks (her) and what I think could have been a cool moment for the Doctor was taken over by Ryan and his dad,
(Which is not to say that the storyline with Ryan and his dad was bad, it was touched upon only a few times and the ending seemed slightly rushed, which is, again, an issue with the writing.)
I don't know, I've explained this to my boyfriend but he just nodded his head and looked at me blankly so maybe I don't explain things super well.

i'm four episodes into season eleven and.
you know, i think what's bothering me is how emotionally mature and well adjusted everyone is? especially the doctor.
and i was watching the last scene and like. i get that they were going for something with having the companions ask to come along instead of the doctor offering, but it really just feels like it's distancing thirteen from the other doctors, especially the part where she tries to warn them not to come–considering the way she jumped at the chance to go to yaz's for tea, it feels out of character.
like, yes, she's fresh off bill and everything that happened there and only has the hope that maybe the memories were telling the truth, and bill is alive out there somewhere, but well. eleven was fresh off seeing donna again when he picked up amy, and clara had been there before but he took her along not too long after the angels and it just feels like.
the doctor has never been normal or reasonable about their companions. they know how it always ends, and they offer it anyway and i don't like that thirteen didn't.
