The Morticia Corset Top, inspired by one of my favourite Horror/Camp characters. Morticia Addams. This Plush black velvet with gorgeous burgundy satin godets is gorgeous to mix and match or wear together. This corset helps push the girlies up, and snatch you in due to the corset panels and ribbon at the back.

Sewing a Pinafore part 1

Style of pinafore- A V neck style top with a longer skirt. For fabric I just used a lavender bedsheet I’ve found thrifting. I thought it would be nice for the summer.

I didn’t have a pattern for the top of the shape I needed. First, I made my own pattern with tape from both of my shoulders and straight down to the end of my abdomen and pinned it to the fabric. It worked out well.

I used a back pattern from a McCall’s pattern (M7556). 

I used a skirt pattern from Simplicity (3823). Same pattern piece for the front and the back of the skirt. This pattern piece was pretty large, and it gives the volume that I wanted.

From the same simplicity pattern, I used slip front and back pattern piece for the sides of the skirt. Again, adding the volume that I wanted.

Pockets! Cut on the fold.

Heute mal DIY 😁 Nicht nur für Kinder 😉 Wir nutzen ja gern vorhandene Ressourcen und zwei der Kids wollten heute wieder Halstücher haben. Wir hatten schon mal welche selbst gemacht und da lag es nahe dies auch diesmal zu tun. Beide haben wieder begeistert mitgemacht, weil das Projekt definitiv machbar ist für alle, die einigermaßen gerade schneiden können. Bissel schief ist kaum zu sehen bzw gibt auch spannende Effekte, wenn es sehr anders wird, also kein Ding was perfekt sein muss 😉😉 Ausserdem haben wir vor einiger Zeit Kleidung aussortiert, die wir spenden werden und welche, die dafür nicht geeignet ist und deshalb für andere Zwecke genutzt werden soll. Dabei war ein Pullover, dessen Vorder- und Rückseite heute zu Halstüchern wurde 😃 Eigentlich war das auch nicht so kompliziert wie ich erst dachte 😅 Ich habe zuerst die Seiten aufgeschnitten, dann alle Nähte abgeschnitten inklusive Halsausschnitt. Dann habe ich die Seiten von Vorderseite und Rückseite angeschrägt und Streifen geschnitten. Diese lang ziehen, dass sie sich kringeln und fertig. Bei der jüngeren hab ich hinten noch die Ärmel gekürzt, die wir zum umbinden nehmen. Wichtig ist natürlich die Strangulationsgefahr zu Bedenken. Also Spielplatz damit empfehle ich nicht so, ausser sie sind hinten nur einmal gekreuzt, das würde sich dann zum Glück lösen, wenn Zug drauf kommt. Ich hab die Fotos von den anderen (noch)nicht gefunden, aber zur Abwechslung können auch Knoten in die Bänder gemacht werden oder sogar Holzperlen aufgef��delt werden. Wir hatten bei den anderen geknotet und Silikonperlen genommen (wollte die in der Waschmaschine leicht waschen können).
