ดพระแก้ว สถานที่ค้นพบพระแก้วมรกต พบในพระเจดีย์สีทอง ตำนานการค้นพบนั้นมีการเขียนเป็นภาพจิตรกรรมฝาผนังบอกเล่าเรื่องราวอยู่ภายในหอพระหยก ที่เป็นอาคารทรงล้านนาโบราณ ส่วนโฮงหลวงแสงแก้ว เป็นอาคารพิพิธภัณฑ์จัดแสดงของโบราณและศิลปะวัตถุที่เกี่ยวข้องกับพุทธศาสนาและวัฒนธรรม เช่น พระพุทธรูปสำคัญ เครื่องอัฐบริขาร และโบราณวัตถุเก่าแก่อื่นๆ ถ้าปั่นจักรยานผ่าน โรงพยาบาลโอเวอร์บรุ๊ค หรือ โฮงยาฝรั่ง (เป็นโรงพยาบาลเอกชนเก่าแก่ที่สุดของจังหวัด) มองเข้าไปจะเห็นอาคารแบบโคโลเนียลสวยๆ นั่นคืออาคารหลังแรกของโรงพยาบาล น่ามโนที่สุดเลย 555 ถนนแสงแก้วจะพานักปั่นไต่เนินเขาขึ้นไปทีละน้อย จนเงยหน้าเฮือก วัดดอยงำเมือง จึงปรากฏอยู่ตรงหน้า วัดนี้เป็นที่ตั้งสถูป(กู่) ของพญามังราย ที่สร้างขึ้นตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 1860 โดยพญาไชยสงครามผู้เป็นโอรส น่าสะดุดตากับบันไดนาคที่เป็นทางขึ้น��ัด เพราะทอดยาวจากเชิงดอยไปจนถึงหน้าพระอุโบสถ ด้านบนมีอนุสาวรีย์และกู่พญามังราย และพระประธานศิลปะเชียงแสนองค์ใหญ่ #ข้อดีของการเดินทางด้วยจักรยาน คือ มันยากที่จะพลาดช็อตสำคัญๆ #ระหว่างทาง ^^ ออกจากวัดดอยงำเมือง ชวนมาท้าน่อง ณ หนทางข้างหน้ามันช่างสูงชันเสียนี่กระไร มีคนแนะนะให้ทดเกียร์เพื่อให้จักรยานช่วยส่งแรงกำลังในการขึ้นเนิน ราว 400 เมตร ในระดับความเอียงราวๆ 30 องศา แต่ทางที่ง้ายคือยิ้มกับเด็กข้างแล้วบอกว่า ดันตูดรถป้าที ดังนั้น ไม่ทันเหงื่อผุด ก็พบต้นฉำฉา หรือจามจุรี แผ่กิ่งก้านสาขา บนเนินสูง ณ ใต้ร่มไม้รื่นตานั้นคือ พิพิธภัณฑ์บ้านจอมพล ป. ที่สร้างเมื่อปี 2484 เพื่อเป็นที่พักรับรองจอมพล แปลก(ป.) พิบูลสงคราม อดีตนายกรัฐมนตรี ใครไม่รู้จักท่านต้องไปที่นี่ เพราะนอกจากจะมีประวัติบอกไว้หมดว่าท่านมีบทบาทสำคัญอย่างไรต่อเชียงรายและต่อประเทศไทย ยังมีน้องๆนักเรียนคอยเป็นไกด์ที่น่ารักพาชมด้วย มุมมองที่ลอดสายตาออกมานอกบ้านช่างชวนรฤกอดีต ( ที่เกิดไม่ทัน 555) กระนั้น มุมที่เล่าเรื่องการเสียสละของคนไทยอีกกลุ่ม ณ พื้นที่นี้ ก็ชวนน้ำตาซึม หลังจากถอนหายใจยาวๆ ก็แวะเติมพลังที่ร้านกาแฟนายพลที่อยู่ภายในบริเวณเดียวกันนี่ล่ะ น่ารัก สบายๆดี หมดแรงใส่หมวกกันน็อค ตามประสา ให้สงสัยท่าลงเนินนี่จะถลาอีท่าไหน ได้ความว่า อย่าพยายามบีบเบรคมือจนสุดแรง เพราะรถอาจจะคว่ำได้ แต่ก็นั่นแหละ อาการแถ-ลง แถ-ลง ในช่วงบีบเบาๆ ยังมี ปราดสายตาป๊ะทางเข้า วัดพระธาตุดอยจอมทองและเสาสะดือเมืองเชียงราย จุดเด่นของที่นี่นอกจากจะเป็นสถานที่ซึ่งพญามังรายเสด็จมาพบชัยภูมิอันเหมาะสมก่อนทรงสร้างเมืองเชียงรายแล้ว ยังเป็น 1 ในเส้นทางไหว้พระธาตุ 9 จอม วงสะดือเมืองตั้งตามความเชื่อฮินดูนะ ไปหาอ่านเอา ตอนนี้ลืมละ ที่เชื่อกันว่า หากกราบไหว้และตั้งจิตอธิษฐานขอพรจะมีโชคในเรื่องทรัพย์สินเงินทองด้วย ว่าแล้วก็แวะไปอธิษฐาน ขอพรอธิษฐานทำงานที่ตั้งใจไว้ ให้สำเร็จในปีนี้ แดดเริ่มร้อนขึ้น แต่ดีที่อากาศในฤดูนี้เย็นสบาย ใครมีแรงก็ปั่นต่อได้แบบชิลล์ๆ ขี่ผ่านถนนประตูเชียงใหม่ ที่ไม่ใช่จังหวัดเชียงใหม่( จะบอกทำมให้งง ยะ) แล้วเลี้ยวขวาออกมาใช้บนถนนบรรพปราการ ตรงโค้งนี้มี แนวกำแพงเมืองและคูเมืองโบราณ มาแระ ของชอบ กำแพง คู ประตู คลอง ไม่รู้ชาติก่อนเป็นตัวอะไร เอ้า ว่ากันว่า กำแพงนี้จำลองของจริงมา เพราะการพัฒนาเมืองเมื่อปี 2540 ทำให้กำแพงจริงถูกถมปรับปรุงไปหมด แว๊ อีก 100 เมตร วิ่งไปจะถึง วัดมิ่งเมือง ซึ่งเป็นวัดของชาวไทยใหญ่ คนส่วนมากเรียกกันว่า วัดเงี้ยว หรือวัดจ๊างมูบ ( อู้งี้ใช่ก่ *ช้างหมอบ) ที่ตั้งมาต๊ะสมัยสร้างเมืองเชียงราย อายุกว่า 800 ปีแล้ว สิ่งที่เล็งแลอยู่คือ วิหารไม้ลายคำศิลปะไทยใหญ่ผสมล้านนา วิหารไม้หลังเดียวที่เหลืออยู่ในเมืองเชียงราย ภายในประดิษฐานหลวงพ่อศรีมิ่งเมือง อายุกว่า 400 ปีไว้ด้วย ส่วนด้านหลังคือพระธาตุมิ่งเมืองที่บรรจุพระบรมสารีริกธาตุ สร้างตามแบบศิลปะล้านนา น่าสนใจอีกอย่างคือวัดนี้มีกิจกรรมตักบาตรเที่ยงคืน (เป็งปุ๊ด) ด้วย   น่าจะมีภาคสองมั๊ย
