Well aren’t I just shit at this 😅

It’s been almost two months since my first post but I thought I’d come back to tell absolutely no one about my latest endeavours to having nice nails again after becoming allergic to gel products.

I started doing dip powder nails and using a gel top coat that was free of HEMA as I suspected that was the ingredient I was reacting to. Well I have been using it for about 6 weeks and I have had absolutely no reactions, yay!

I did remove them last night just to give my nails a little break from the acrylic and used some gel polish to offer at least some protection to my natural nails. Surprisingly though, I did use a gel colour that contained HEMA, because I like living on the edge apparently, and somehow I have still not reacted 24 hours later. Maybe it isn’t the HEMA? Maybe it’s because I was extra careful and used a base coat while ensuring I didn’t get any on my skin? Who knows but I’m relieved while also feeling like I’m not 100% sure what it is I’m allergic to.

Keeping away from HEMA as much as possible has been helping though so when I have some extra funds at my disposal I will be getting some more HEMA-free colours and maybe a builder gel for added strength and protection so I can continue to grow out my natural nails since that’s what I ultimately prefer. I’ll try to update this a little sooner next time but until then, enjoy 2 pictures of one of my reactions and a picture of my dip nails to give you an idea of what good and not good looks like on me.

I’m gonna get my nails done in a bit but I have no idea what design I want. I wanna get a pastel sparkly pink but I also don’t wanna get just a color w/out a design 😭 I haven to start getting ready in 23 mins and I’ll barely have time to give it much thought.
