Everyone knew that the day would come, it was more of a matter of when.

As Dilly got older, she started slowing down, there would be days when she wouldn’t visit the shed at all preferring to sleep in her nest box at her station. The station master noticed this and took her to a vet.

“She’s an elderly duck.” They said.

Despite her age, Dilly still liked to visit the passengers. The locals and fans of the railway series would come just to meet her, she would do a little dance and happily visit everyone. Needless to say everyone was devastated when the day came.

Dilly didn’t leave her nest box, she slept often only to get up to eat and drink. The stationmaster moved her inside and began bring her home with him to take care of her. One night, Donald woke up to Dilly sitting on his running board, she had left before the stationmaster took her home. Dilly nestled up to Donald where they watched the stars together until they both fell asleep.

Dilly passed away that night in her sleep on the running board of her engine, the engine she imprinted on as a duckling.

A funeral was held for her. She was cremated and her ashes were scattered along the shores of her pond. People started a memorial for her, they left flowers, bread, and peas on the platform for weeks. Everyone missed Dilly very much.

During the spring the next year, Donald was delighted to learn that some art students who were fans of the railway series were going to erect a brass statue of Dilly at her station. The statue featured Dilly in a stationmaster’s uniform blowing a whistle. The statue was a hit. Every time Donald passed by the station, he couldn’t help but shed a tear at the sight of it. Dilly was loved and now will never be forgotten. What started as a prank between engines now became a staple of the branchline.

I recently found this thing called “Sexyman Descendents” where it's basically just Monster High but Tumblr sexyman

And hey @sexymandescendants @sparkerinparadise (I have no idea whats their main account???) I just made a new kid

So uuuhh

Meet Finch Collet!!

(This is not her official design)

A so-called “normal” railway worker who takes after Duck (the Thomas the Tank Engine Tumblr sexyman yes a steam engine read about it here)

So basically:

Supposed to be his child in some way

Inspiration from @joezworld

She's an orphan because as inspiration from a game called “What Remains Of Edith Finch” her family members have dropped like flies.

She's still in the orphanage. No one has adopted her yet.

She works as a volunteer railway worker and mainly works with Duck

No surprise, she's a part of the Great Western human line.

Duck was the one who was the closest thing to family to her

He told her a lot of stories about the Great Western and started to kinda see him as a parental figure

She's pressured to live up to the Great Western legacy even tho she doesn't feel so connected to it

That she conflicted between what she wants and what she wants for her family

Like @bruhstation 's cstm! Duck

Tumblr High became a gateway for her to express herself more and find herself

She's level-minded, hard-working but she's a complete workaholic who's just competing with everyone at this point and tries to be good at everything

Takes after her father Duck once again haha

During her stay in the school she got them real life side roller wheels (like in @asktrio516 's humanized fanart) to move around

Likes literature and rapping

She can write an entire diss track about the engines on Sodor

Misses her old rustic life on said island

Wanted to join a technology club but got shy because she's interested in old steam engines

“Everyone in here is absolutely crazy” <- her forgetting about Sodor's “cultural quirks” when meeting people crazier than Sudrians

Messy hair. So messy that, in Douglas' word; “Dilly can take a wee nap in it. Or build a nest”

Fun fact Dilly did sleep there once

Does not know how to cook

Can only cook a simple egg and bacon sandwich

Only knows how to cook inside the engines

She's still learning how don't worry hahahehshshabmakallzpskxnxn

Doodle Compilation!

Hello, hello, my dear friends, and welcome back to When the Sun Shines on a New Hope! This time, I decided to go ahead and draw some random pencil doodles because I was bored. So, I’ll go ahead and explain the context of each as best as I can, from top to bottom and left to right!

The context:

- Pretty soon, Donald is going to be a father. Stay tuned in the springtime when things get revealed!

- Duck’s… wide mischievous smirk expression. Cue concerned Edward in the corner.

- 57647 Douglas dressed as a girl in relation to this ask post (further context is there):

- Just a simple doodle of Rheneas.

- Toad being an absolute cinnamon roll with his love for whale plushies.

- James being smug af.

- Mavis (who I will be introducing later on)! She’s an extended member of the Tidmouth family, since Toby and Henrietta adopted her.

- An inside joke with friends based on the song “Donald, Where’s Your Troosers?”, where Donald is shipped with Kani. Kani is smol but easily flustered and a bit uptight, while Donald is taller and definitely a lot more relaxed. But hey, gotta love dynamics, amirite?

And that’s about it for now in the concept shed! More art will be posted down the line, but I just figured doing some doodles for fun to pass the time. This has been Miss Kani! See you all next time when the sun shines on a new hope!
