Old and Reliable 🌌

First of all, let me say that I'm truly weak for characters with glowy glasses lenses.

So here's my attempt to make 3D model of @wysteriaisapenguin 's Edward humanization!

Looking through the posts of @wysteriaisapenguin 's works, I found this post of showing dualities of her Edward, and wanted to make the 3D model of her humanized Edward design as well as making two versions of him being happy and angry just like the post.

Had some struggles with hair part, but I hope it looks alright 😅

"Don't you know red is a lucky color?"

Gong Xi Fa Cai! I know the start of Lunar New Year is still about a month away, but I wanted to make sure I got this done early. ^^; I was inspired by @shikariiin's Dragon!Edward that she drew for New Year's. And as a fellow Year of the Dragon, I knew I had to do something too!

Originally I was thinking about drawing Thomas (as a reference to "Thomas, Percy, and The Dragon"), but in the end I decided to draw James because:

Favoritism RULES ("Somebody has to be the favorite... 🎶")

Red is a lucky color in Chinese culture (and I think in other Asian cultures as well, but Chinese is what I'm most familiar with)

So here's James all decked out in red (symbolic of good luck) and gold (symbolic of wealth). The leaf and branch pattern on his cheongsam is meant to be a subtle reference to "All in Vain", while the clouds on the lining pattern are meant to reference steam (cause he's a train lol). Also the character on his chest is his engine number 5. Numbers are among the only things I remember how to write in Mandarin. ^^;

This piece took me 24 hours to finish! I hope you all enjoy it! Happy New Year! 🐉

Claw of the Law’s “Dieselization” Effect explained

When Diesel 10 stole Lady’s whistle and her magic, he quickly used them to reshape the island in his own image. Instead of destroying every steam engine, however, he did steal their wheels.

Wheels play a large part in this au, as they allow for an engine to switch between a human shape and their engine shape. Without them, an engine would be stuck in their human shape and would have to rely on others to get around.

He made every steam engine a deal…if they agreed to become diesels, they’d be given their wheels back and would gain the ability to switch between “human” and engine. If they refused the deal, they’d be stuck in their human shape without their wheels and be forced to use other engines for transportation.

Many took up the deal, thinking they could outsmart 10 at his own game, but that choice proved to be there undoing. Unbeknownst to them, Dieselized steamers tend to follow 10’s every command.

It’s easy to tell if a Steam Engine has been dieselized, as their appearance and personality reflects it. Steam engines typically have colorful hair that reflects their paintjob, while Diesels have plain black hair with maybe a streak or two of color. Dieselized steam engines have dark hair with three streaks of color in it.

Their eyes also change, as the original eye color suddenly becomes two toned. The original eye color is on the bottom while a gold color sits on top of it. The Sclera (whites of the eye) become yellow as well.

Personality wise, a steam engine’s personality becomes swapped when they are dieselized. For example, when Gordon was dieselized, he went from being grandiose and bold to being quiet and shy (and a little unhinged). Whenever Henry was dieselized, he went from being kind and assertive to being a complete asshole who’s full of himself.

On top of the personality change, dieselized steamers don’t remember anything prior to their dieselization. They usually get a new “name” from Diesel 10. For example, Gordon is now named “04”, Henry is now “03”, James is "05", etc.

Lady and Thomas believe that it can be reversed, but they have to get Lady’s whistle back first. They also have to be careful as not to get dieselized themselves!

I've used different methods this time than the previous, also really wanted to make a fanart of @hkpika07 's Gordon from long time ago! Really love their design and colors 👀

"Yee Haw Cowboys!" 🤠

This is what happens when you loop Cotton Eye Joe for hours while thinking about this drawing by @shikariiin. XD

I originally had this planned for 2/2 but I couldn't even get the sketch done in time by then. So 2/22 it is! XD Better late than never I suppose.

Without question, I always planned to draw two Edwards for 2/2, mine and someone else's. And that someone else HAD to be Shika because, like, y'all she's such a good friend. I love her sm (platonic). I could literally stay up talking to her for hours (and I do!).
