Weekly news report: Feb.12.2023

Welcome back listeners! It's been quite a while unfortunately since we've kicked on the news report.

We've had a mess with the freezing temperatures and power lines being down, but the entire town should be fixed back up by Wednesday. The Coven is offering temporary housing arrangements and Spirits, the town centre, has been set up with food, water, warm clothing, and other necessities you may need to keep you through these rough last months of winter.

Speaking of, Ostara, the spring equinox, is soon to arrive! Expect the town to be decked out in paper chains by our pagans and children. Come down on the day of for music, a farmer's market, and to help with the town-wide cleanup!

Imbolc was celebrated on the first and we hope everyone had a good celebration! Memoriam Maison is open to all who wish to light a candle and remember.

Construction on Rave Route is finishing up with comfortable cool down areas, smoother paths, and other accommodating for our disabled friends! We'll be doing a review of it sometime next month, check back in for that.

As nights get shorter and warmer, we know people will want to be back out in the woods again. We ask again that all stay out of The Hollow. We've lost two members of our community to it since winter began and we're hoping to not lose more. Please remind children it is not a place to play or go to spook each other. If they want horror stories, go over to The Coven or send in a request to us! We'll spook the shit outta ya if you want.

With a return of a strange plant in the south side of Deso, we also ask everyone by there be wary of the things they pick up, wash their hands, and walk around with shoes on at all times. We don't know what it is, but it's caused some nastly rashes on a few citizens! We're contacting our friends in the next town over to help us sort it out and we'll update once it's clearly.

Thomasin does also want to remind our pagan and magick-practicing friends that energies are stronger as the sun returns and to please be careful and take care. Hello hello, a biittt of a late response since i didn't actually see this question oops sorry- anyway, it was hidden for a little while due to Pokemon Reborn's e19 community release, just in case a certain big corporation decided to knock on the door due to traction. Oh boy here we go

So I think sleepy might have told you guys before in the pyramid server like, who knows how long (I kinda want to rejoin so I could hand out with you guys more but couldn't because. personal reasons but that's beside the point), but her oc Kisaragi is distant cousins with my ocs Hauyne and the younger sibling (also the fav but you won't ever hear it coming out of her mouth) of my deso oc Iseult. Hauyne is related to both Iseult and Kisaragi, but they're many generations removed from each other. I'm talking like at least 2000 years worth of generations, with Hauyne being more closely related to the generation (specifically she's the great-granddaughter of a warrior who took part in that conflict) that fought in the Great War 3000 years before the events of rejuv in my rejuv au (which I call the chroniclerverse).

So the three of them are what the verse calls the Sidhe, or aura wielders in a more layman term. They're basically a race that can use the abilities of Pokemon, either through forming a bond with their partner Pokemon or by assuming the form of a Pokemon themselves. Iseult, like her sibling Kisaragi, is in the former category; the Sidhes call them mageia, or those who have bonded. Iseult's bond partner is a deso shiny Cresselia named Vega, so she has psychic abilities which she usually uses to communicate with Kisaragi/her friends telepathically. They're the most common kind of aura wielders you can find in-universe, and appearance wise they are virtually identical to humans barring some animalistic traits that they've inherited from their bond partner.

Hauyne, on the other hand, falls on the latter category. The aura wielders usually call them Anima, or those who transform, but there are a rare few amongst the Anima who can assume the form of Legendaries and Mythicals which they call Eikons (or the exalted ones). The Anima are already a fairly uncommon bunch amongst the aura wielders, but the Eikons are exceedingly rare and only manifests within certain bloodlines. Anima and Eikons form the "aristocrats" and "noble" classes of aura wielder society, with the latter often becoming the leaders of each ancient clan, usually revered as an incarnation of the Legendary they worship.

The three of them are descendants of the dragon clan's nobility, although Kisaragi and Iseult's family were very far removed from Hauyne's so they were akin to minor nobility within their society. Hauyne, on the other hand, is directly descended from the dragon clan's ruling bloodline, but in the present day it was believed to have gone extinct in the aftermath of the Great War. Well, they're not completely wrong, because the bloodline's only surviving members are her and her sibling Orion. And with Orion having stepped out since they've chosen to affiliate themselves with Reborn, that left her as the last legitimate heir to the clan.

There seems to be like. 4 unique spaces of fandom grown art of pokemon. There’s like, the types of hack that aim to make the base game something more complete and all around tougher, fangames that try and do something completely mechanically new or rebuild the game all around, sorta dopey rom hack adventures, and then like. Every fan game that seems to have grown from the reborn community (reborn itself, rejuv, deso, and a few others) which I feel the need to define differently due to personal biases. Broadly, I think most of these push the aspect of the game that is creative and expressive play and… excess? Rejuvenation is potentially the most convoluted and dense thing (not to it’s detriment- in the same way anything with a shit load of moving parts is convoluted and dense) to have ever come into existence. The thing about Pokémon as it exists now is that it’s. Not a quaint creature collector. Battle mechanics are dense and there’s 1000+ different pokemon. How do you make a narrative that extends to fit entire range of possibility that exists in the mechanics. The cast of 18 gym leaders and several other major characters in the reborn space kinda works with that. Route 2 + Amethyst Cave from Pokémon rejuvenation is like. The best location in any game, ever? Just in the ways that that one place continues to surprise you, how you can return back at so many points with more tools, and continue to find little fascinating events, and harsh mechanical challenges. Like. Amethyst cave is only a vital landmark at two points in the main story, it is where the deuteragonist is fake murdered and whisked away into like, the past or something, and where you have ur 2nd gym battle with the partial ghost of another character. already kinda bizarre. But like. After it’s plot importance in the early game, if the little paths you can’t quite reach stick with you, you can. Like. Find so many bizarre things in there. Ur relationship with it continually evolves. You can find a mysterious woman and dance with her, come across a giant crystal you can shatter, discover a strange… cloning device? meet with your dead mom, and then the ghost of a plot important character’s original partner pokemon, also registeel is there and I don’t even remember what event it’s connected to. Rejuvenation takes the idiosyncrasies and charm of Pokémon’s mechanics and makes it textual, giving you a constantly evolving relationship with it’s settings and characters, and allowing for the player to make real feeling impacts outside of the critical path. You can entirely miss all interactions with the funny rock lady who kills people and who’s questline may or may not involve her murder depending on ur involvement. Like that’s kinda insane. Bring back the college au except everyone is involved! Random ideas

Taka and Imani work part time at the same cafe! Neither of them can bake for shit ( much to the disappointment of Imani herself) but are still valuable workers! Imani is great with customers herself, so she often works as a cashier, and Taka actually has a knack for making drinks ( he learned a thing or too from El). I also think they get along really well! Taka was probably overwhelmed with Imani's....Imani at first, but overtime, she won him over and they two act like siblings :3

Imani is a fashion major and Taka is undecided for now. He's thinking about taking something in religion or sociology but he's not sure.

This au is fairly lighthearted and honestly kinda cheesy. That's to say that Taka saw Leo walk into the cafe one day and saw fireworks. Unfortunately for him, Imani picked up on this very quickly. And Melia too! Melia also works at the cafe lol.

Speaking of Leo, he's also a fashion major! Used to be a business one like his sister but just wasn't happy with it. Again, in this au it's more lighthearted, so his relationship with his parents are at the point where they are communicating more. They're both completely fine with Leo changing majors as long as he's happy :).

Flynn doesn't work at the cafe, rather she works at the college library with Erin! She's still as shy as ever, preferring the company of books than actually talking to people. Her and Erin still have a very quiet friendship, to the point where they don't really need to talk to understand what the other is thinking. When they do talk, Erin often enjoys listening to Flynn ramble about whatever subject that comes to mind.

Obviously, Flynn is pursuing a medical degree, but she's still very unsure about her future. Not so sure about Erin though.

Philomena is weird. She's a graduate ( at least for now, I don't know her exact age just yet), but she's often seen hanging out in campus. She's with Lilith ( deso) more often than not, who works as a teacher there. So maybe that's why? Who knows.

Going back to the cafe, you'll never guess who's a regular( Venam. It's Venam. And Ren. And Aelita. And Leo too, but he's way more obvious lol).

Not entirely sure what Asra would be doing, nor what they would be studying in. But they're usually hanging out with Avs, Scarlett and Connor. Cande too whenever he's not busy!

apparently, who delivered was 6 men but 14 people, I shortened to shorten his story that is interrelated with one another for mistakes, typing, and making potatoes, I apologize profusely. it's true, humans feel great, but in fact there is another greatness that makes humans nothing behind small sentences, wherever you are, uphold manners- respect each other, look after each other, and always behave like a civilized human being.

One of the local men approaches Earl, he is concerned as he can tell that the young sailor is not from around this part of the island.

“Kapten, you know where yu goin from ere?” Says The Local Man

“Aerrrmm” Earl pauses, he gags slightly from the sea sickness and continues

“Please cud yuh lead me towards the town hall, I know of a person that might live around this area” Says Earl as he Burps

“Ah no problem dat, follow this way” Replies The Local Man

The Local man leads Earl off the shore, hikes across a cliff and into a rainforest. He is bringing him towards the East-side Community. After trudging through the dense jungle, Earl finally arrives at a destination; a small village.

“The Hall is over that way, yuh can get information deso” Says The Local Man pointing his finger towards a church building.

“Tank yuh sir” Earl bows his head with gratitude and appreciation

The Local Man leaves Earl’s side and walks away, Earl draws near to the church building and enters its doors.

The church is a stone mason building, with an iron steeple, it’s windows are single glazed with tinted stained glass. Inside the building there are a few people who are sat in a waiting area, and a woman wearing a gown loitering near an information stand.

“GudMorning Ma’am, I have jus sail from the west, I would like fi know if me can find a person who might be amongst this community” Earl Informs an Elderly Woman

“Who you ah look fah?” Responds The Elderly Woman

“Her name is Patricia, she might of been sent her sometime last year” Says Earl

“Patricia who?” Replies The Elderly Woman

“She is from my way, round ah di mountains, Peak Top District” Informs Earl

“Wait, ah no my granddaughter you ah talk” Questions The Elderly Woman

“You ah fi her Granmudda” Earl replies.

He takes a gasp for breathe, and sighs with relief he then turns to look away, his face is filled with many emotions.

“Eee hee, weh you warn wid Patricia?” The Eldery Woman starts to interrogate

“In all honesty Ma’am, me come fi look my beloved fren” Says Earl

“Take a set ova deh, wait me soon come yuh hear” Replies The Elderly Woman.

Earl sits down in the church halls waiting area, The Elderly Woman exits the building.
