OMG IMAGINE dennis and he gets a knock at the door and it’s reader wearing nothing but a towel and she got locked out of the house when her parents are gone and he has an extra key!!!!!
18+ MDNI
CW: Sexual innuendos, implied voyeurism, inappropriate looking, flashing, exhibitionist behaviors, and slight dub-con.
she'd sworn her dad had moved the spare backdoor key to the stone beside the pool when she had moved back in from college, however, she was disappointed in seeing it gone from there. she looked at her bikini already hanging on the line outside from where she'd changed on the closed in porch. biting her lip she tied her towel tighter around herself spotted the backdoor the the nash's house closing. she quickly made her way over sneaking through the fence praying nobody drove by.
"hey dennis!" she yelled through the screen door as she stepped up onto the concrete porch.
before the wooden door could close he was turning on his heel at the sound of her voice. "hey sweetheart."
the nickname made every inch of her skin run hot. she smiled admiring him in his grey tank top, he'd obviously been doing yard work. she let her brain wonder if he has saw her stripping down.
dennis took in her appearance, his own face reddening as he leaned into the doorway wiping his hand with his bandana. he licked his lips and ducked his head to the side trying to get a better view of her. the girl in front of him jokingly rolled her eyes watching him.
"dennis could you help me get into the house please?"
"you're locked out?" his eyebrows raised.
"yeah the spare key is gone...i don't have a way in my keys are in the house."
dennis nodded patting for his keys in his pockets. "yeah i got one right here from house sittin' c'mon." he leads her back over to her back yard and through their connected fence. she smiled watching his muscles flex as he held the gate open for her. her core clenching slightly at the thought of him. he turned back to look at her like he could sense the thoughts in her head.
"mhm you okay back there?"
"yeah, yeah just a little chilly from the pool."
dennis nodded, the clothes line catching his eye her little black bikini hanging up there dripping water down onto the hot pavement. he stepped into the closed off porch messing with the backdoor swinging it open for her.
sweetheart smiled at him, clasping her towel tighter as she pulled him into a hug her chest pressing against his. "you are a life savor denny!" her hips slightly pressing into him, his hand falling to hold her ass slightly in his hand.
he smiled licking his lips as they let go. "don't mention it sweetheart."
as the words escaped his mouth he couldn't believe what was in front of him. she'd bent over grabbing her speaker and shoes that had been left on the porch, her exposed cunt being briefly exposed to him. her giggles filled the porch, and his lips pulling up in a smirk.
"i'll have to find a way to thank you properly." she says standing up straight stepping into the house.
"yeah we just might." he fumbles out smiling.

sorry I'm very clearly ovulating.

Hen,Karen and Denny with there newest foster child. To then transition to Eddie trying to make breakfast with Chris watching him fail miserably. To then have Buck come up from behind him like I got this just sit down. Chris laughs and Eddie roles his eyes before sitting down. Buck salvaged the food. It’s revealed in the opening that Bucks been living with them for the past how many couple of weeks/ months in between seasons. He’s been living with them the entire time since Eddies accident. Even though he hasn’t officially moved in.

It's time once again for a list of CSNY Dream Covers! (which is what I decided to call songs that would be absolutely to die for in the vocal/ instrumental stylings of each member of CSNY). I feel like I've gotten to know them all a little (or a lot) better since my first post in September and wanted to try to focus on elements that I ignored, overlooked, or didn't have the space to highlight last time. Thanks to all of you who thought this was kinda cool before and especially @kingon33 and @youngshakespeare for making your own and expanding the idea to other bands!
Crosby: Falling in and Out of Love - Pure Prairie League
Okay, I'm actually kinda upset I never got to hear David Crosby sing this song. It would be so natural for him. Despite being in standard tuning, the music instantly has the feeling of something mystical and beautiful. The biphasic nature of the tune overall is sort of out of the ordinary, in agreement with David's tendency to keep things interesting and avoid a standard formula for crafting a song. Everything about the vocals, from the soft phrasing to the gentle vibrato, would be so effortlessly executed by David. Of course, the chorus is the outro we hear in the band's hit "Amie," which I can't quite imagine as clearly. But here, it seems to work, bolstered by some additional voices, as a brief interlude from a section where David would not only fit but absolutely shine.
Stills: Crazy on You - Heart
Listen. I know this seems insane. In fact, I had a different pick for Stephen but I changed it to this in the eleventh hour because it would be that good. Imagine this like an octave down, or maybe only ~four steps if we wanna give him a chance to show off (which, oh...we do). Stephen would destroy this song in the best possible way. Everything is perfectly suited to him: the acoustic guitar on the opening is quick and intricate, the heavy, open riff creates plenty of space for ad-libbed expression, and the wide vocal range presents a challenge to which I think he would eagerly rise. Ann Wilson is in top form here, but I think Stephen could match her approach, sultry and deep on the verses and wailing the choruses to high heaven. I imagine this done by ~1974 Stills, so his voice would have that hardened edge that is so strangely and attractively pleasant, but enough flexibility to bend to his will.
Nash: Deliver Your Children - Wings
The inclination to give Graham a Paul McCartney song made perfect sense to me, and Denny Laine turned out to be a very close vocal analog for him! I'm quite surprised at how well I think this one would work. The metaphorical imagery is vague enough to be interpreted as abstractly political, a technique Graham himself often used in his own writing. Pitch-wise, this one would give him room to jump from the lead vocal line (sung here by Denny) to whatever Paul is doing in the background. And knowing Graham, by the time he got worked up into the second half of the song, that's probably where he'd be.
Young: No Quarter - Led Zeppelin
I had like five other Led Zeppelin songs I would have cut off my left arm to hear Neil cover (runners up: "In the Light," "The Rover," "Down by the Seaside," "The Rain Song," "Boogie with Stu"...) but I finally settled on this. That riff is just dripping with the kind of heady feel that characterizes Neil's darker period in the mid-70s, so give him a backing band like Crazy Horse and just let them have their way with this one. I'd almost allowed myself to replace the piano break with some kind of harmonica-centric activity, but I think it could work as is. Vocally, this would be pretty close to a slam dunk for Neil. It's alluring even to imagine how good his voice suits the half-whispered verses, and he's got the dynamic range to take it all the way up through the end. But, really, what ultimately sealed the deal was imagining Neil scream "I hear the dogs of doom a-howlin'!" Is there anything better?

day 1: candy
read it on ao3
the firefam kids come back from a successful night of trick-or-treating // firefam, no plot just vibes (the vibes are family)
wc: 594
“We’re back!” May yells as she ushers the kids through the spider-webbed front door.
A chorus of greetings sound from the Grant-Nash dining table where the adults sit scattered, dinner plates half-empty, wine glasses half-full, shiny smiles on all of their faces.
“How’s the loot this year?” Hen asks, pulling Denny into a side hug so that she can peer into his candy bag. Nia runs to Karen and lets herself be lifted onto her lap, pail in hand.
Harry empties out the contents of his pillowcase into a bowl. “It was great! Everyone was in a good mood.”
“They gave us all the big sizes,” Christopher agrees as he hands his plastic pumpkin bucket to his dad. Eddie does a preliminary sniff of the goods before handing it to Buck to do the same.
“Uh-uh, Harry, remember what we said,” Athena tuts as she stretches her hand out. Harry groans dramatically, clutching the candy bowl to his chest.
“Mom. We’re too old for you to sort through our candy anymore.”
“I’m sorry, do you know the newest things people who think they’re funny are putting in trick-or-treaters’ candy? Don’t say I didn’t warn you when you bite into a Reese’s cup that has razor blades instead of peanut butter.”
“He technically won’t be able to,” May adds helpfully. “Because of his tongue-less mouth.”
“Alright, no gross talk at the table,” Michael grimaces. “You’ll get your candy back after dinner, kids. Go eat now.”
May joins the adults as they shift from the dining room to different parts of the house. She watches as they empty out their respective kids’ candy onto any usable surface they can find. As always, Athena and Michael go to the patio while Hen and Karen take over the coffee table. Buck and Eddie stay at the dining table. Bobby takes care of the kids’ dinner, serving them heaps of graveyard chili and spider pies.
May sits with Maddie and Chimney on the couch, alternating between taking sips of Maddie’s wine and bouncing Jee on her lap.
“They’ve been doing this for years,” she informs them. Maddie laughs and surveys the group, hunched over the bars of candy as they check the packaging and poke at gummies.
“We still have a couple more years before we join them on the floor,” she says to Chimney.
He hums in agreement. “I’ve never seen them so laser-focused.”
“Denny’s allergic to peanuts. Anyone wanna trade M&Ms?” Hen asks out loud.
“We’ll trade you for a Twizzler,” Buck says.
“Mars bar,” Athena counters.
“I like Twizzlers,” Denny pipes in.
“Sold to Christopher.” A pack of Twizzlers and M&Ms sail across each end of the room, punctuated by a loud reminder from Athena to not knock over her things.
It goes on like this for a bit. Gummy bears are swapped for Twix. Snickers exchange hands for Kisses. One lone pack of Skittles is divided equally four ways. All the candy corn is collected and placed in a baggie for Ravi, who mentioned off-hand that he didn’t think they were that bad, unknowingly putting himself in the position of candy corn trash can for the rest of his life.
The kids finish eating and immediately dive into their piles of candy. The adults congregate in the living room with the candy the kids didn’t want and ooh and ahh as Bobby sets down the dead velvet cake he’d been making the entire day. And it’s here, between bites of frosting and jokes about Buck imagining ghosts, that May feels most at home.

Day 7: Buddie + free choice
@buddieweek2020
If different people asked Buck when he knew he was in love with Eddie Diaz, he’s not sure he’d be able to give them the same answer.
Some days he thinks it was way back when they faced that live round in the ambulance. Other days he’d say it was after the tsunami when Eddie said he trusted him with his son even though at the time he didn’t trust himself after what happened. And some days he might say that he just didn’t know up until the moment he thought he’d lost Eddie under 40 feet of dirt and mud.
These days he thinks that it was wasn’t any one thing but rather an accumulation of events that drew his heart closer to the truth, close enough that his head finally caught to after a long period of what he thinks was denial.
All he knew was that the moment he realised it, there was no denying how he felt. What he didn’t expect was that Eddie had felt the same way. It took them a while to figure it out despite having so many clues thrown at them by others. At the time they just never put those clues together and maybe if they had, they might not have taken so long to act on their feelings.
Maybe that was a good thing in the grand scheme of things. They had taken so much time learning each other within their friendship that taking that next step, crossing the line from friends to boyfriends, didn’t seem all that much different to how they had already been around each other. His boyfriend is his best friend, that’s something that he’s never been able to say about any other relationship he’s ever had had.
And now. Now he can’t imagine doing anything differently. Not when he knows how things have turned out. Them now living together, Christopher being completely unbothered by the change in relationship status but being over the moon about him being around all the time now, the team exclaiming “finally!” when they made it official.
He’s reminded of Thomas, the older gentleman from so long ago, saying that you don’t find this kind of love, that you make it and it's only now that he truly understands what he meant; Watching Eddie and Christopher out in the backyard, looking carefree and happy in the hot spring sunshine as Eddie swings a laughing Chris around under the sprinkler he realises he’d done just that and it makes his heart sing over that thought.
Buck had become so engrossed in these thoughts while grabbing a glass of water having been out in the sunshine with the two Diaz boys, that he didn’t notice Eddie had joined him until his damp body pressed up against his back and his arms circled around his waist as he trailing kisses on Buck’s shoulder.
“What are you thinking about?” he asks, tucking his cheek into Buck’s neck.
Buck sets down his glass and crosses his arms over Eddie’s, gently swaying them, “Me. You. Us.” He gestures out the window to Christopher who was wrapped in a towel, basking in the sunlight, “Thinking about how lucky I am that you let me be part of your lives.”
“You already fit so seamlessly with us, there was hardly a decision to make.”
Buck sighs contentedly and tilts his head into Eddie’s, “I don’t think my life could get any better, I mean aside from marrying you of course.”
“Is that a proposal I’m hearing?” Asks Eddie curiously, surprised by Buck’s admittance.
“Mhm, think of it more like a pre-proposal.” Buck says lightly and turns in Eddie’s arms, repositioning his forearms to rest on Eddie’s shoulders, “When I propose you won’t know what hit you.”
“Oh yeah? Is that so?” Eddie asks teasingly.
Buck smirks at him playfully, “Hmm, yep, I do believe it is,” he says before dipping down to touch his lips to Eddie’s.
Unbeknownst to Buck, Eddie had already picked out a ring and has it hidden safely in the top of their closet, and he had asked Christopher for his blessing to include Buck in their lives forever. He was just waiting to know for sure that Buck was ready for that next step, and it looks like he has his answer.
What Eddie didn’t know was that Buck had done the exact same thing, which meant that Christopher had the coveted position of keeping both of their secrets and knowing exactly how happy and in love his two dads will be.
** ** ** ** ** ** **
They happen a week later, the proposals.
Both men had been carrying around their rings, each trying to find the right moment to ask the question and it ended up being on one of their casual date nights, one that they were having at home. Christopher was having a sleepover with Denny and Harry in the Grant-Nash household.
They had strung up some fairy lights over the back patio and set out a picnic dinner on the grass with some soft ambient music playing in the background. It was after dinner, with them both stretched out on the picnic rug looking up at the sky, searching out the stars when Buck rolled over and propped up on an elbow discreetly pulling out the velvet box from his pocket.
“Eds, I-” Whatever he was about to say had evaporated as he peered down at Eddie, entranced seeing him bathed in the soft glow of the fairy lights.
“What is it, Evan?” Eddie looks up at him curiously, sitting up slightly as he leans back on both elbows. That was when he spotted the box.
Noticing this, with a blush creeping up his neck, Buck presents it to Eddie, “I had a whole speech planned but looking at you just now has me speechless, so,” he breathes out a calming breath, “Eddie Diaz, will you do me the honour of becoming my husband?”
Eddie grinned back at him which was a good sign, what he didn’t expect however was for his to start laughing, a joyous happy laugh as he turns away before sitting back up and presenting his own little black box.
“Looks like we had the same idea!” he ends up saying in delight, “Would you do the honour of marrying me?” He asks with a chuckle.
And Bucks answers with a kiss, capturing Eddie’s lips in his own tenderly as he conveys all the love he has for the man. Eventually, they separate, both breathless from the moment.
“I guess the answer is yes for the both of us, huh.”
Buck pecks him on the lips again, eyes sparkling, “A thousand times yes.”

Happy Father’s Day
Yet-to-be-inflated balloons are strewn across the dining room table, only two or three streamers are hung up so far, and a banner that reads Happy Father’s Day is still inside the plastic packaging he bought it in. All the decorations have been readily ignored and abandoned in favor of a lovingly worn and torn photo album with a cracked spine; the result of being open and closed for many years.
Sitting at the head of the table, Bobby touches the cover of the album, gently tracing the words: The Nash Family.
Although it might seem a tad bit morbid and sad to be alone on Father’s Day looking at photographs of his late family, it’s become some sort of a tradition of his ever since they’ve died.
It used to be far worse, though. He would call in sick for work if he was scheduled that day and drink his body weight in alcohol as he flipped through the pages of the photo album with white knuckles, refusing to let himself forget what he lost.
Now, it's different. He turns the pages in the photo album with only a deep ache to replace what used to be a sharp sting in his chest. Memories used to only equate to suffering for him but now Bobby looks at all the pictures with a renewed sense of love.
Overtime, Bobby has learned that memory can be a beautiful thing sometimes.
Bobby was alone in the house today as earlier in the day, Michael had taken May and Denny back to his own apartment for their own private Father’s Day celebration before the joint party that was supposed to take place here in the evening. Michael had asked if he wanted to join but Bobby had only politely declined, only half-lying about having to decorate.
In all honesty, even after all of these years, Father’s Day was still a sensitive subject for him.
Suddenly, at the sound of a doorbell chiming throughout the house, all of his melancholy thoughts are put on pause.
Setting aside the photo album on the dining table, Bobby pushes himself out of the chair and walks over to the door. He pulls open the door to find Buck standing on the other side with his hands stuff awkwardly in his front pockets.
“Hey Buck.” he greets pleasantly surprised, “What are you doing here?”
“Bobby.” he says as he darts his eyes to the ground, “I was—um, I was wondering if I could spend the day with you.”
“You do realize what day it is, right?” Bobby asks as he wouldn’t put it past Buck to forget.
He watches as Buck avoids meeting his eyes, only scruffing the toe of his shoe against the ground.
“My—my dad’s in town and I really don’t want to be around him.” he begins to explain and suddenly Buck’s surprise appearance makes much more sense, “Everyone else is busy; my sister’s with Chimney and Joy, Eddie’s with Christopher, Karen and Hen are using today as a second Mother’s Day, and Michael has Denny and May at his until Athena comes back from her shift.
“So I was hoping I could spend the day with you?” Buck asks, scratching the back of his neck.
“With me?”
The small smile that was tugging on the corner of Buck’s lips disappears with his words, in its wake is a resigned look. Nodding his head, Buck lowers his gaze to Bobby’s shoulder.
“Y’know what, it’s fine.” Buck says, “I’ll just go to the mall or something. Sorry to bother you.”
He feels something sink deep inside of him as he watches Buck turn away, heading down towards where his Jeep is parked near the sidewalk.
Desperate to right whatever wrong thing he must’ve said or did just now, Bobby blurts out, “I could use an extra hand with setting up for the party today.”
In the middle of the concrete pathway, Buck stills. As he turns around to face him, Bobby pushes open the door fully and motions with his head for Buck to make his way inside. Practically skipping, he does so immediately.
Once he’s inside, he gestures for him to make his way down to the kitchen as Bobby closes and locks up the front door.
“Thanks for letting me do this.” Buck says as he picks up a string of reflective blue streamers.
“Helping me decorate?” he teases as he begins to tear open the plastic packaging of the banner.
“You know what I mean.” Buck responds with an eye roll.
As he does, he catches sight of the tattered photo album near the edge of the table. Suppressing the urge to hide it away where no one could find it, Bobby lets Buck pick it up and search through it. He decides to concentrate on rolling out the Party City banner in his hands.
“What’s this?” Buck asks.
“It’s just a photo album from my first marriage.”
Right away, Buck closes it before setting it back right where he got it from.
“Sorry,” he says with guilt laced in his voice, “You probably don’t want to talk about that.”
“It’s okay. I’ll always miss them but, it doesn’t hurt to remember them.” he explains.
At Buck’s hesitant, almost wary look, Bobby decides that maybe it’s time this old photo album finally gets some new attention. Picking it up, Bobby searches through the pages until he finally settles on one.
“Here, this is my son Junior and this is my daughter Brook.”
The picture was the two of them awkwardly linking their arms around each other's shoulders. It was taken at Junior’s middle school graduation ceremony. With a smile, Bobby remembers how much Brook whined when her parents forced her to take a picture with her brother, complaining that Junior didn’t shower enough and smelled like he just came back from hockey practice.
From his peripheral, he sees Buck shift around until he’s looking at the photograph from over Bobby’s shoulder.
“What were they like?” Buck asks.
“Brook loved reading. Her whole bedroom was lined up with bookshelves. Y’know she won this personal essay contest once...” Bobby says, still bragging about his daughter even after how many years have passed since she’s been gone
Old habits are hard to break, huh?
“Yeah, she won five hundred dollars for it.” he explains, “She was always doing stuff like that.”
“And Junior?”
A chuckle bubbles out of Bobby.
“Oh God, Junior, he was always getting himself into trouble. But, he was a good kid, he had a good heart.” he remembers.
Kind of like someone else I know.
Pulling his gaze away from where he was looking at Junior’s face, Bobby shifts his attention to Buck. For a second, he takes in just how light his irises are and how blond his hair looks in the light.
He likes to imagine that this is what Junior would have grown up to look like.
“Junior would’ve been a lot like you.” he mumbles, more to himself than Buck.
It takes a few seconds of gears grinding and cogs turning around in his brain before Buck fully processes the depth of his words but when he does, he tilts his head to face Bobby and gives him a shy smile before taking a step backwards.
“High praise.”
“Yeah well not that high.” Bobby jokes as he closes the photo album, “The kid got himself stuck in a tree that was only four feet above the ground once. And I was the one who was dispatched to get him out of there.”
At the story, Buck starts to double over laughing, clutching at his abdomen as he forces himself to take a breath between every wheeze and snort. Soon, Bobby is following suit; Buck’s laughter is infectious even on a bittersweet day like today.
For a brief moment as he studies the way Buck throws his head back chuckling, he cannot remember if Buck always sounded like Junior while he was laughing, or if Bobby’s still-grief-ridden mind is having some sort of auditory hallucination.
“Seriously?” Buck asks as the laughter begins to wane.
“I never let him live it down.” he answers as he wipes a tear from the corner of his eye.
Placing the photo album back on the table, Bobby decides that they’ve spent enough time on the subject and judging by the clock, they should really get back to decorating if they don’t want Athena to come back home to a complete mess.
“He must’ve been a lucky kid.” Buck says, as Bobby searches through the mess to find a roll of tape or some thumbtacks.
“Hmm?”
“To have you as a dad.” he explains as he hands Bobby a cello tape dispenser, “Junior, I mean.”
If Junior was lucky, he would’ve been alive right now.
“When I wasn’t drunk and or high out of my mind, I did alright.” Bobby responds with a hint of self deprecation.
“Yeah, well, I think you’re doing a great job right now.”
Before Bobby can open his mouth and ask Buck what exactly he’s referring to, he’s cut off by the blaring sound of Buck’s cellphone ringing in his pocket. He pulls it out with a huff and practically glares at the screen lighting up in front of his face.
He waits for Buck to pick up the call but all he does is mute his cellphone and shove it back into his back pocket.
At the way he clenches his jaw, Bobby can deduce who it is with little difficulty.
“Your dad again?” he asks.
His only response is a short nod as he begins to busy himself with preparing some pieces of tape for holding up the banner; harshly ripping them off from the dispenser before attaching them to the edge of the table.
Suppressing a sigh, Bobby knows he needs to push Buck into doing the right thing, even if it isn’t what either of them want to do.
As much as Bobby wants Buck around today, not only to ward off all the bad memories associated with today’s holiday but also simply because he enjoys the man’s company, he knows he shouldn’t monopolize his time.
Buck deserves a father. Though Bobby may downright despise Phillip Buckley, the man had the honour of holding the aforementioned title and that was something he could not compete with.
Buck already has a father. He may not be a good one, but he was trying.
Even if he is 29 years too late.
“Maybe you should go meet him?” Bobby suggests, “I mean, if I got a second chance to become a father, you deserve a second chance to have one.”
Buck stops ripping off pieces of tape. His hands travel down to the edge of the table and he grips so hard at the wood that Bobby’s afraid there’ll be claw indents once he’s finished.
Within a second, however, he pushes himself off of the table and he goes to reach into his pocket.
Bobby barely has enough to take a look at what Buck’s pulled out before it’s already shoved into his hands. Tilting his head down, he sees a semi-wrinkled piece of printer paper that has been folded in half to make a card. On the front, in big and bold handwriting that he recognizes to be Buck’s, he sees the words Happy Father’s Day and a couple of messy drawings of two firefighters scattered across the page.
“I already do.” he answers, “Do you—um, do you like it?”
“I love it.” Bobby whispers.
He opens up the card to find a long and what he presumes to be a heartfelt message on the inside. At the top, it says, To the best father and at the bottom, Love, Buck.
“Also, um, some of those random hearts and flames are courtesy of Christopher, who helped me make this, by the way.”

Imagining a post-shooting scene of:
Lena Bosko hears about Eddie getting shot - they aren't really friends anymore, haven't been since Eddie got caught street-fighting and that whole fiasco, but when she hears the news, she figures she should go visit the hospital anyway.
Except, when she gets there, Eddie still hasn't woken up yet. The secretary simply points her back towards the waiting room where all she's met with are the Wilsons and Buckley. And a woman with dark, curly hair who Lena's never seen before, so she figures she's waiting for someone else.
She chats with Hen and Karen for a minute, before they have to head out to pick up Denny from school. Their departure leaves it pretty awkward because the last time she saw Buckley, she was pretty sure he hated her guts because his best friend had gotten a new bestie (though that had never actually happened in her mind, and she knows it hadn't really in Eddie's either. Men and their insecurities getting the best of them).
After about ten minutes of sitting next to Buck - because that's what he likes to be called, she remembers enough from Eddie's billions of rants and tangents surrounding the guy - her scrolling through her phone and not reading any of it, him simultaneously bouncing his knee and tapping it over and over again, she desperately tries to fill the silence.
"So did you and Eddie ever actually get your shit together and admit you're in love with each other, or what?"
Well, she probably could've come up with something better than that.
She looks up at Buck as he freezes. She hears the sound of something falling behind her, but she's too busy watching the way Buck is opening and closing his mouth like a fish out of water to pay too much attention to it.
Except then - then, Buck swallows like his heart in his throat, before he raises a shaky hand and gestures past her, and she turns to see its directed towards the curly-haired woman - who is now staring at them, her own eyes wide, and her phone on the ground between her feet.
"Um. Lena," Buck says, his voice trembling. "Meet Ana. This is Eddie's girlfriend."
Oh.
Shit.

okay so we’ve all talked about how alex needs to come up with a nickname for willie as retaliation for “hot dog” right, so consider this: he tries so hard. and for so long. to come up with something. for MONTHS, willie calls him hot dog, and alex is just like “oh yeah...? uh? car - um.... traffic... uh...” and he just cant think of anything for the life of him
and then FINALLY he comes up with something. willie’s like “hey, how was your day, hot dog?” and alex replies “i don’t know, how was yours, speed bump?” and it just comes out. and as soon as it does, he lights up and he gets so excited and proud of himself like !!!! while willie just stares at him like oh my GOD hes so cute hes so cute

firefam of the traveling denim shirt (1.3k words)
Emilie made a fantastic gifset a while back that I loved so I wrote a fic based on it. Go check the gifset out here.
read on ao3
Buck wasn’t going crazy. At least he thought he wasn’t. Chimney was 100% wearing his shirt. He may have stared at Chim for a little too long while trying to figure it out. It could easily be that Chim had bought a similar shirt in a size too large. Denim shirts were back in style. That could have been the case, if there wasn’t the bleach stain on the cuff from when he had accidentally spilled some wine on it and panicked. The question wasn’t why Chim was wearing his shirt, clothing swapping happened sometimes, it was more how exactly the shirt got into Chim’s possession. He didn’t remember lending it to him. Chim, or Maddie, usually got anything borrowed back to him pretty quickly. He didn’t remember leaving it at the station. Any possible reason he could think of didn’t explain why Chim would be wearing it to a cookout at the Grant-Nash household.
Buck wandered into the kitchen to ask Maddie. She seemed likely to know how it traded owners. Maddie always seemed to have information like that.
“Hey Mads, any clue where Chim got that shirt?”
Maddie didn’t bother to look up from where she was chopping up lettuce. “No, why would I know? He does actually go shopping without me.”
“It just looks oddly similar to a shirt I own.” Buck kept his voice casual as he leaned against a counter. He wasn’t trying to sound accusatory. Answers were all he was after.
Maddie thought for a second, before turning to look at Buck. “I did laundry at your house last week when my machine was broken. I must have picked it up then and just assumed it was Chim’s.”
“Okay good, I wanted to make sure I wasn’t going crazy. Not like last time when suddenly all my hoodies ended up in your closet.”
Maddie gently bumped his side and gave him one of the imfamous innocent Buckley smiles. “I don’t know what you could possibly be talking about.”
Buck rolled his eyes but followed her back outside. Maddie had taken his hoodies, claiming an older sister tax and that his were more comfortable because of how big they were. They had all been returned luckily. He couldn’t have handled shopping for a new wardrobe again. Not after the Great Pant Massacre she has caused. He could have worn shorts with his cast, but no. He needed options according to Maddie.
He was pulled from his mourning of his pants from his voice being called in the yard. Chris, Denny, and Harry were all standing with Nerf guns, with a fourth one clearly meant for Buck. A smile grew on his face. How could he deny them the chance to pelt him with foam bullets?
By the end of the night he had completely forgotten about Chim having his shirt. It wasn’t until a couple of days later when Athena showed up at the station wearing the denim shirt in question. A slight frown came across Buck’s face. Athena already had two men’s closest she could borrow from. His was off limits. He already had Eddie stealing from it.
Athena gave her greetings, before going off to talk to Hen in the locker room. It was clear the two had plans for when Hen got off her shift. Buck could have gone and asked her how she got the shirt, but he had pulled a kind of dangerous stunt earlier and didn’t want to get yelled at by her. Instead, he figured he could annoy Chim about it.
It didn’t take long to find Chimney. He was upstairs on one of the couches texting someone. Buck sat down on the other side of the couch and put his legs up on Chim’s lap. Based on the delayed reaction of Chim shoving his legs off, Buck figured he was texting Maddie.
“What can I do for you Buckaroo?” Chim sounded amused, knowing whatever Buck wanted had to be good. He still had Maddie’s contact pulled up on his phone, ready to text her whatever Buck said.
“I just need you to help explain my shirt’s journey here. Maddie accidentally stole it from me and gave it to you, which I get. However, I don’t understand how it went from you having it to Athena suddenly having it.” Buck’s hands moved as he gestured in time with the words. At this rate, he figured he was going to end up buying a new shirt anyways.
Chim’s brow furrowed in confusion for a second before the lightbulb went off above his head “Maddie got cold, so I lent her the shirt. She wasn’t wearing it when we left. She must have taken if off and left it somewhere at Athena’s. It’s a comfy shirt so I can see why Athena would take it.” They did have to leave the party in a bit of a hurry. Morning sickness was a lie, Maddie got sick all around the clock. Forgetting a shirt wasn’t their biggest worry.
Buck started to respond, before he saw Hen and Athena walking out of the station. Athena was no longer wearing his shirt, swapping it for a sweater he knew was Hen’s. Hen now had his shirt on. Buck let out a groan. “I’m never getting that shirt back, am I?”
Chim, being the good friend he was, stifled his laugh. He gave Buck a pat on the knee. “If you really love it, it’ll come back to you.”
The bell went off before Buck had a chance to call Chim out on his fake wisdom. It wouldn’t have mattered if he had the chance anyways. He could have made fun of Chim, but he quickly would have been proven wrong when Eddie walked into his apartment wearing the shirt. Buck loved when Eddie wore his clothing. Their styles were similar enough that no one but the two of them tended to notice. It was a reassurance to see Eddie in his clothing. It helped to remind Buck that all of this was real, and not just something he had been imagining.
“You do love me.” Buck exclaimed when he saw the shirt.
Eddie let out a small chuckle. “Yeah, I do? Thought we had established that.” He closed the door behind him before walking further into the apartment, dropping the takeout on the counter.
“I meant the shirt, but I do love you too.” Buck leaned across the table to give Eddie a quick kiss before he started unpacking the food.
“I think I’m going to need some kind of explanation here. I didn’t think you cared about this shirt more than any of your others.” Eddie grabbed his food and headed towards the couch.
Buck followed behind Eddie, sitting down next to him. Close enough to either cuddle or steal some of Eddie’s food, whichever Buck felt like. “That shirt has gone on a journey. It travelled around pretty much the whole station. Chim gave me that bs line of it I love it that it’ll come back to me. It came back, but you should keep it. Looks better on you anyways.” It did look good on Eddie, everything looked good on Eddie. Buck could always steal it back if he really wanted.
Eddie rolled his eyes, but couldn’t keep the fond look off his face. “You just want me in your clothing, don’t you?”
Buck felt a blush rise on his face. He quickly pressed play on the movie. “Sorry I didn’t catch what you said, the movie was too loud.”
Eddie didn’t bother to stop Buck’s antics. Eddie knew Buck liked when he stole the taller man’s clothing and that was fine with him. There was a certain pink sweater that Eddie had his eye on. Now he just needed an excuse to take it.

KC business owner furious after truck driver pours concrete mix into car wash bay
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It’s enough to make one metro business owner fuming mad.
An act of carelessness has left part of his car wash unusable, and he wants to know who did it.
When Dennis Nash saw his security cameras on his mobile app, he couldn’t believe it. He’s owned the Soft Touch Car Wash at Winchester Avenue and Longview Road for 16 years.
On Oct. 21, those cameras recorded a red Chevy pickup truck driver who was towing a small concrete mixer. The video shows the driver wash out the mixer and then dump wet concrete mix, the rest of what was in the mixer, onto the floor of the car wash bay.
“I saw a pile,” Nash said. “I thought it was dirt, but when I got up there, it turned out to be concrete mix.”
Seven days later, and that mess still isn’t cleaned up. Nash’s son and a family friend helped break up the pile and carry out pieces in a wheelbarrow.
“It makes me very made, and the city also, that’s like dumping. It just doesn’t work,” Nash said.
Nash said he’s concerned about what the concrete mix might have done to his drainage system.
“My car wash is going down, and it’s hard to keep it afloat,” he said. “We’re in the wintertime, so it really makes it bad.”
Nash said he’s called Kansas City police. He hasn’t spoken to the truck drive, but he imagines this will end up in court.
“I’m pretty sure everybody knows that’s illegal,” he said. “You can’t do that.”
Nash said this happened at his car wash years when a different person made a big mess with a concrete mixer. He said he and that person were able to work out the problem before it went to court.
He hopes for a clean ending once again.
