I am autistic. You would think that would make working in the heavily regulated and rigidly ruled field of being a lab scientist would be a great fit for me because of that. But it turns out it’s actually just infuriating beyond belief. Non-autistic people have no idea how to communicate, and apparently find joy in making everything unclear. I’m well aware of that from conversations and such, but I had foolishly assumed that it would be different for scientific lab work. When someone sends me their request for me to run tests on their experimental drug product, I would expect that they would provide clear details on what they want me to do. This was of course an incorrect assumption. And then when I reach out to them as ask if they could clarify what they mean, I assumed they could, oh I don’t know, tell me what they want me to do?!???!?
Apparently non-autistic people enjoy communicating by sending each other conflicting information and then being unable to answer when asked for clarity. I guess they probably like how when, I guess one of the many options of things I could do that fit their vague “instructions”, they then get the opportunity to tell me how foolish I was for doing it incorrectly. I cannot read minds, especially not ones as apparently labyrinthian as theirs.
And then when they are unable to clarify to me what I need to know via the extremely convenient communication method of text-based messages, they decide we need to schedule a meeting to “discuss”. Great. Now my entire day’s schedule is ruined. And now I have to meet with these people so they can be unclear on what they want verbally and we have to repeat ourselves at each other for an hour until I can somehow convince them to tell me what they fucking want. And then hope that I can actually process the sound properly and keep it in my memory in the time between it entering my ears and my pen moving on the page, because there’s no goddamn record of a conversation I can reference later and if I get a detail wrong I have to start the process all over again when I realize something is unclear.
And if I get an actual answer to the question, I will of course ask if they can verify that is what they meant, a simple yes or other word of affirmation to tell me that they did not misspeak or mistype or just to reassure me in some way that they wont have an excuse to change their mind later and say I interpreted it wrong. This seems like the most simple and reasonable request, but they really don’t seem to like it. I simply repeat what they said, and ask if that is correct, and for some of them that’s apparently a sin. I ask “oh that’s what you want me to do? Can we do that?” And expect a “yes” in response, instead they tell me to see the message I’m asking for their affirmation on. That’s not a yes! That’s not an answer to my question! I now have to go on with uncertainty in my feeble human mind because it’s apparently way too fucking hard to say yes. Fuck off
I need the whole world to be autistic. I’d rather endure 1 million heated debates over which way is the optimal way to format something argued by people who are so stubbornly stuck in their ways that the heat death of the universe will happen before they cede their ground, than have to deal with these non-autistics and their guessing games for the rest of my life. I can’t fucking do this shit. Why are you even requesting testing from me if you don’t even know what you want tested and how, why are you like this?!?????

Like musical Beej and Adam except less perverted and more flirty/sappy? I was an odd kid- okay? 🥲#Anyway… the old design didn’t really do much to show off her personality… so I ended up upheaving the whole thing#So I upheaved the whole thing.#It was okay for what I knew at the time- but I know what I was trying to say then and now I have the knowledge to say it better#Also— the reason I gave her horns here is so silly.#When I was younger I was in a Christian school where I wasn’t allowed to draw witches-ghosts-demons-etc.#So even though I based her on the Dante girls… I refused to give her horns because I thought that was ‘too sinful’#I even remember having so much guilt while looking for references of the Dante workers#I couldn’t even look for more than five seconds!#Anyways… she really pushed the boundaries for me at the time and it’s fun to see how I’ve changed and grown since then.

I'm reading the book 'Where The Crawdads Sing' after much persuasion from people around. And well it's a great book so far into this and first it's helped me get out of the reader's block. But onto the book—
It has such a enticing start- nothing more appealing than murder to get a reader hooked on your book 🤌✨ but other than that it's sad over all: how Ma leaves Kya in her 'fake alligator heels' is just gut wrenching and the six year old innocent girl hoping that she would come back for how can a mother abandon her offspring? And how that's not the end of sadness and loneliness in her life- her siblings leave her and I don't feel much for the elder ones with whom she had no connect but Jodie who told her that 'she would understand why he did this when she is older' and I fail to understand why leaving a child with an abusive parent is anything understandable.
What is more depressing that Kya continues to hope that Ma will come back and she turns 7 and there is no one to wish her. She doing makeshift with her father to just have sort of connection with human beings is so unimaginable. Her dad being so cruel to her that he has no regards for her well being speaks volumes. Only for him to show some speck of humanity by taking her fishing, to a diner and just smiling. It's going to make me cry- the short glimpses of childhood are so heartbreaking to read. Only for me to feel sadder when he doesn't return- perhaps lost to death. Now Kya is forced to grow up and look past her creative needs to focus on how to bring food on the table is disturbing

Delia's eyes widened with delight as she gazed upon the beautifully arranged tray before her. The vibrant red strawberries, succulent cherries, and luscious raspberries seemed to sparkle under the soft glow of the room. Their enticing aroma filled the air, tempting her taste buds with their tantalizing sweetness.
Unable to resist any longer, Delia reached out and plucked a plump strawberry from the tray. Its juicy flesh burst with flavor as she bit into it, a burst of tangy and sweet sensations dancing on her tongue. She couldn't help but let out a contented sigh, savoring the exquisite taste. The combination of the rich red fruits and their vibrant colors was a feast for both her eyes and her palate.
As she continued to explore the tray, her attention turned to the elegant roses nestled among the fruits. Their velvety petals, deep crimson in hue, exuded a fragrant aroma that added a touch of romance to the setting. Delia gently picked up one of the roses, marveling at its beauty before inhaling its intoxicating scent. The delicate fragrance had already filled the room, enveloping her in a sense of pure bliss.
And then there were the chocolates, carefully arranged in a corner of the tray. Delia's eyes twinkled with anticipation as she reached for a piece. The smooth, velvety texture melted in her mouth, making her moan. Each bite was a heavenly indulgence, a moment of pure decadence that she couldn't help but relish.
Grateful for her best friend's thoughtfulness, Delia couldn't wait to share this delightful surprise with her fiancé, Will. She knew he would appreciate it just as much as she did. With a smile on her face and a tray full of love in her hands, she turned towards the door, calling out to Will.
"Will, you won't believe what Greta got for me! She sent over this amazing gift full of red fruits, roses, and chocolates. It's absolutely delightful. I think we should share it together and enjoy the treats. I wanna get her something in return, what do you suggest? Help me think of something that can top this."

How much Ash must love her in return, and now that he’s world champion, and probably going to be at least moderately wealthy, he will make sure she never, ever has to scrimp and scrounge to make ends meet, or break her back running Pallet Town’s only restaurant to support her son. my favorite things in the performance of beetlejuice i saw live
TLDR; this is an unfinished list and i love beetlejuice the musical
- alex brightman being in the show
- literally all of it
- everyone cheers when beej says "Holy crap, a ballad already"
- "Hey guys, ain't it pretty? Look who's back in New York City! Since your live have been super shitty, let's start on, y'know the whole being dead thing."
- "that was an old Scandinavian folk song, i like to think i put my own spin on it"
- all of the transitions between scenes but especially when the graveyard turns into the house and beej says "it's a lot bigger on the inside!" because it was genuinely epic
- when Barbara says "look at these jugs!" beej turns around excited
- "this is what life is, it's just a bunch of Howards and then you die"
- Barbara gets her hand caught on fire i don't know how they did that
- Barbara "you give me the creeps" Beej "you give me a boner!" [pulls out a bone] "that's a femur"
- beej has a whistle during the whole being dead thing pt. 2
- the house retracts during dead mom and lydia stands on an empty stage during the long notes
- Adam gets turned around by beej when Barbara is doing the screams so that Barbara can focus
- a whole choir shows up during beej's soliloquy in fright of their lives
- "don't text in the middle of the night saying 'you up' because-" [pause because he's trying to hold back tears] "-new phone [sing song] whoooooooooooo~ [normal] dis?"
- *throws smoke bomb* "BAM! I'm gone." *jazz hands*
- "The Maitlands, more boring than Brigadoon."
- when beej takes the door down instead of saying "fuck you guys" he says "fuck brigadoon"
- Adam and Barbara with sheets over their heads
- Delia fortnite dancing during no reason
- beej complaining about his mom to lydia
- beej's hair turning purple during the roof scene
- smoke coming out of where beej falls during say my name
- during say my name Barbara learns to throw her voice
- during day-o beej comes out of the table (so proud of him) when lydia says his name
- the lights going dark when the skye goes inside to change to the inside of the house + skye had a flashlight
- during that beautiful sound, after the rip-off joke the actor holds the fake arm in between their legs (cuz no arms obvi) and beej says "that looks like a penis!"
- the pie gets flung out of the door, the actor doesn't even catch it
- i forgot when, but at some point Delia ran into the wall while exiting the stage
- the actor playing otho/Kevin looked like a discount jesus (not making fun of the actor just a thing i noticed that enhanced the character to me)
- "exorcism. death for the dead!"
- during the while being dead thing pt. 4 (good old fashioned wedding) beej's hair turns red
- "it's a green card thing!"
- the entire netherworld scene (especially the chase part)
-what i know now but one guy fell fully over, like they slipped and fell. i dont think anyone noticed but me. i noticed. i see you chorus member that fell.
- the whole life or death scene but specifically Adam's jeopardy podium thing says 'sexy' instead of his name
- "HOLD ON JUST ONE DAMN MINUTE" *everyone cheers*
- during Adam and beej's kiss (#lovewins) beej got REALLY into it
- Barbara slaps Adam and then they both say "Maitlands 2.0" to make sure they're on the same page
- Charles and Adam distracting beej while lydia gets the plan moving during creepy old guy
- beej with the tear away costume and slicked back hair
-the lights changing to pink when they say "i can't believe some cultures think this kind of thing's alright" and the entire on-stage cast singing (including beej he doesn't even use the demon voice)
- beej coming alive, feeling emotions, and then dying in the span of 4-5 minutes (y'know, fair)
- Juno having a smoke machine around her chest and making it seem like she's smoking
- when beej says "this guy knows what im talking about" the third time he starts laughing a lot and saying stuff like "three times!" and breaking the fourth wall while all the other characters stand there confused
-"YOU TRICKED ME but with love" -beej as hes pushed off the stage by juno
- beej riding sandy (the sandworm) and wearing a cowboy hat
- "Look lydia, now we both have dead moms!"
-beej giving Adam his dead mother's leg and saying "you're boring, but you're sexy. own that."
- "maybe I'll find my father." [gasp] "sequel??" *bad imitation of airhorns*
- when beej goes to the netherworld he says "fuck brigadoon" again instead of "tell my story"
- lydia floating during jump in the line- the stage going dark and the deetzes + maitlands being spotlighted in pink in a hug during the last "im home"
