It’s been a week now.
It’s been extremely difficult to collect my thoughts and say all of the things I wish to say. I truly never imagined that I’d be writing a post such as this one and every time the realization hits me, it kills me. My heart feels completely shattered and it’s proven to be a very tough week to navigate through. Since my blog started with my love for the GazettE, I had to pay my respects here too.
I discovered the GazettE in 2009. I was only 13 years old. The very first song I ever listened to was Filth in the Beauty. I was hooked instantly and from there, my love for them blossomed. They helped me get through some tough times and accompanied me through the good times. I have so many beautiful memories with the GazettE and I hold them very close. From all of the fantastic music, the funny interviews and backstage videos, the numerous albums and memorabilia, the outstanding music videos on repeat, to all of the amazing friends I’ve met along the way. For that, I am forever grateful to them.
In 2016, I had the opportunity to see the GazettE live and meet them in person. I cried like a baby. It was the best concert I’ve ever been to. They blew me away with their performance and stage presence. They were absolutely amazing as always! ❤️ Hearing Vortex live was a dream come true. Seeing them live and in person was a dream come true.
I remember greeting every single member clearly. All of them were super kind with warm smiles and firm handshakes. I’ll never forget how warm and friendly Reita’s smile was. How welcoming and how full of life it was. How firm his handshake was. I hold it all so close to me. Thank you for an awesome concert. You did so well as you always do ❤️
Reita, I can’t believe it’s been a week already. Time feels like it’s passing slower than ever. Losing you has felt like losing a long-time friend. It’s proving extremely difficult to see a future without you. Amidst all of this sadness, I know you’re here with us and you always will be. We will stay strong for you and we will take care of the other members for you. The GazettE will always be 5. ❤️
To our eternal bassist 🌟✨
Whose love and love for music forever remains infinite, thank you for everything. Thank you for the beautiful memories and being an inspiration to so many.
Shine brightly from the sky, Reita.
You’ll live on eternally in all of our hearts. We will always love you and you will be forever missed. ❤️

random facts for my Dead On Main childhood friends au:
Danny's ghost form changed when he was with Jason in the ghost zone, and then reverted back to how it was after he died when Jason disappeared.
Danny as a human has blue-green eyes. As in, his eyes are blue with the lower half being green, and they bleed into one another at the middle. This is entirely because of Danny being a halfa, its meant to represent how he's no longer completely human.
In contrast, Jason's eyes are teal with hints of green. This is because he was revived. One half crawled out of the grave, and the other never left.
If you stare at Danny's eyes for too long, it sometimes looks like the green and blue are swirling together but never mixing, like water and oil. People agree that its very beautiful, but very unsettling.
Danny's lichtenberg figures as a ghost are black, and when he cries his tears float and disappear when they fall off his face. The tears have a thick, almost gel-like substance to them if you touch it.
Danny's ghost form is pretty unsettling - he fully embraced the fact that he died and in turn strongly shows it through his ghost form, plus the additional effect his grief has on his form. He's not who you would think of when you're told "we have a ghost hero protecting the city". he looks like someone the hero would fight. Danny usually keeps his goggles on over his face for this reason.
The black space on his suit, naturally, has stars on them. they shift and move as he does, and sometimes there are nebulae that swirl into view.
His lair in the ghost zone is an observatory, but like one of those fantasy looking ones that you'd see in some kind of solarpunk ghibli movie. it's huge on the inside, with a long hallway with polaroids strung along the walls, and doors leading into different rooms. The main room is the 'observe floor' with a large domed ceiling and furniture littered around near the walls, and more polaroids. Danny can press a button on the side wall to 'open' the dome ceiling and reveal a night sky above his head that he can float up into. some of these stars are danny's memories that play when you touch them. danny can move the night sky around like an interactive screen, and find new stars. This observatory has a hammock.
Danny's got his 'Kill The Clown' corkboard in his lair as well, it mirrors out into his apartment.
Oh. The hole in his heart. You can stick your hand into it. Or try to. Danny's gonna shove you back immediately though, because it feels weird. And also it's gonna leave a Substance on your hand that's gonna be really hard to take off, stains afterward, and has the consistency of semi-thick ink and oil. His tears are made of the same stuff.
Danny's Ghost Forms below (without his mad scientist goggles bc i forgot to add. them) Left is after he reunites with Jason (both times), and the Right is pre-reunion (both times).

260: Buddy Holly // Greatest Hits
Tumblr media
Greatest Hits Buddy Holly 1967, Coral
As with following any artist who died young, being a Buddy Holly fan is like doing one of those connect-the-dots drawings where they give you part of the image and you fill in the rest as a wireframe. There isn’t a shortage of material exactly—he’d released 50 or so songs by the time he died in February of 1959, and recorded enough that “new” Buddy Holly records ensured he was a regular presence on store shelves well into the late ‘60s. But his literal absence gives all these assorted cash-in repackagings a fanfictional quality, exercises in instant nostalgia. As a fan, you can choose between seemingly half-a-dozen sensationally overdubbed versions of a song like “What to Do,” each based on a hushed demo he’d recorded on an acoustic guitar in his apartment; you can even decide that that set of demos, which are admittedly exquisite, represent the “true” Buddy, even though the singles he signed off on in his lifetime often had plenty of bells and whistles.
youtube
The fact is, we can never know where Holly might’ve gone as an artist, no matter how assiduously we sift through the pile of variously-incompleted sketches he left behind. Grim, unromantic precedent suggests we lost out on perhaps three to four years of his prime. Among the early prodigies of rock ‘n’ roll, none had a run of greatness much longer than six or seven: not trailblazers Berry or Little Richard, not the King, not even a singular songwriting genius like Orbison. Most of them rarely even managed a memorable single once they’d moved past their primes, let alone albums (with all due respect to the Everlys’ Roots and Bo Diddley’s The Black Gladiator). Perhaps something in the effort of instantiating a brand-new genre burns an artist out more than the work of refining one with an established foundation. Regardless, the shapes of these primordial figures in rock and roll are detectable again and again throughout the music’s history; for a rock fan, discovering the recordings of a Buddy Holly is one of those Rosetta stones that helps translate and connect so many of the currents you’ve followed in your own listening journey. He’s dissolved into the body and blood of rock like some bespectacled divine sacrifice.
But before he was dissolute, he was his body of songs. I don’t own either The “Chirping” Crickets or Buddy Holly, though both are great records and contain a good number of his classic songs. I also don’t own any of the more comprehensive retrospectives (of which 1979’s six-LP The Complete Buddy Holly is probably still definitive) either. I’ve just got this basic as mish Greatest Hits from 1967 and… that’s absolutely fine! It’s well-sequenced, has no bad songs, hits a lot of the absolute peaks, and even includes my preferred overdub of “What to Do.” It necessarily lacks many of his essentials, but in terms of single LPs you can find for like $1 in the year of our lord 2024, the list of records with more bang for your buck is short indeed. If Holly’s yet to hit for you, the hoopla can admittedly be a little perplexing, but take it from me: if you’re wired for rock music, you’ll get it one day.

Nine Inch Rebar - "Party City Wig"
-fake SPN Parody- 🎶(sung to the music of Juke Box Hero- Foreigner)🎶
[Verse 1] Sitting in the seat, with his head hung low Couldn't forget his bro, it was a two man show Heard the roar of the car, he could picture the scene Put his hands on the wheel, then like a distant dream He heard one Sammy, just blew him away He saw Dean in his mind, and could picture him say
You’ve done good Baby Bro, just a handful years more Didn't know how he’d do it, but he knew for sure The impala felt good in his hands Didn't take long to understand Just one lifetime, can’t make life throw It’s a one way ticket, to a one way road
[Chorus] So he kept on livin’ He is never going to quit Got to keep on livin’ Someday they’ll met again if his death permits
He’s going Party City, got gray in his wig He’s gone Party City He’ll keep on fighting, (Party City, gray in his wig) Party City, (Party City), he'll stay alive tonight, (gray in his wig)
[Verse 2] In a town without a name, he lived threescore Thought he saw Dean's own shadow, by the parlor's door Like a trip through the past, to that day in the car And that one daydream which got him this far
[Chorus] Now he needs to keep on livin' He just can't stop Gotta keep on livin' Sammy has got to stay on top
He’s going Party City, got gray in his wig He's gone Party City, (got gray in his wig) He’s going Party City, (got gray in his wig) He’ll keep on fighting, (got gray in his wig) He'll stay alive tonight woah
[Guitar Solo]
[Chorus] Yeah, he's gotta keep on livin' Never gonna quit Gotta keep on livin' Sammy has got to stay on top He’s going Party City, got gray in his wig He's gone Party City Yeah Party City, got gray in his wig Party City, ahh Party City, ahh Party City, got gray in his wig Gray in his wig
Look out for NIR’s other original hit songs: “Just Us, Finally Free” • "Hypno Tits" • “Steel Lats” • “ILYSMMBB” • “Domestic Bunker” • “Blurry Wife” • “Baby In Paradise” • “Meet You on the Bridge” • “Now It’s Perfect”
