No one likes syringes!

Summary : You gotta take your weekly syringe but you're afraid of needles so how can these mfs (Dazai, Kunikida, Atsushi, Aku, Chuuya) convince you to take it 🤷

Genre : bit cracky and fluff, prob lots of teasing bc u know who tf im talking about 💀

Warnings : heartattacks bc we all simp too hard for these men 🛐 maybe a bit of suggestive themes at the end

A/N : managed to inject myself for the first time (aint no drugs, need them bc HEALTH) and bro, my hands r still shaky bc fear 😭 how do ppl do this so easily 💀 also the syringe is like a pen (also for this story) but broo its still scary and i need some bsd character comforting me 😩✋✋

Dazai Osamu

Lets say yall live together and hes at work while u r home alone

cant bring yourself to do it alone bc bro syringes are scary (even if its just a pen bc NEEDLES BRO) 😩😭

So you text him and ask what hes doing and tell him if hes got time to come home asap bc we r nearly crying at this point

hes gonna be SO ANNOYING like "i was just waiting for a text from you~ dont worry, your knight in shining armor will save you"

BROO he prob knew that you gotta take them today and also knew that nothing would be going on at the agency so he couldve stayed at home but nah 😭😭 (sadistic a** fr fr)

but hes still hurrying nonetheless bc hes not that MEAN -right???-

arrives at home and finds you on the couch holding the pen with shaky hands and his heart does feel a TAD bit guilty bc fr he couldve stayed at home and u would have gotten this shit over asap

You already know that he got the exact day, hour, minute and SECOND written down on when you gotta take your pen

You tell him that the day is enough and that the time doesnt matter but NOO 😤 YOU WILL take it at the exact time

If its at ungodly hours like 3am or smth, bro he'll wake you up like no mercy for his schedule 😭

If u complain to him tho then dw he will rearrange it for u bc he may love to stick to his plans but he wont ignore your needs and stuff either get urself a man who takes care of u like that 😤😤

will prefer to do it before work, so if you're not an early bird then he'll wake u up but dw you'll get a forehead kiss and bro's already fully dressed n' stuff BUT waking up to him looking at you with such a loving gaze will make u forget that its 5-6am or smth 😩

will first let you get up in peace and make u some calming tea bc he knows what will come next ✋

"Y/N, I know you don't like it but you have to take your pen today, okay?"

if we start a tanthrum then he already knows about it like bro's prepared for everything!!

"Kuni, do we really ha-" "Yes." "But you know I dont li-" "Yes and yes. I know you hate it but don't worry, I've already written everything down on how to do it and what to be aware of so its okay to feel afraid but don't worry because I'm here. Nothing will happen and I've already bought your favorite snacks so you'll feel better but dont eat too much of it when I'm gone. "

prob even went to a library and once came back home with multiple books in his hands, hes THAT dedicated UGH I LOVE HIM 💕

If the pen is kept in a fridge then dw he already put that shit out for it to not be cold anymore (prob counted the minutes and seconds LOL)

he'll sit you down on the bed or couch, disinfect the place on where you'll take it (lol that sounds WRONG) and he'll give you a peck on your forehead before asking if you're alright and ready to go through with it bc no way in hell is he gonna do it while you're too shaken up for it

If you wanna try to do it alone then he'll take your hand into his as you're grabbing the pen, slowly guiding it while praising you for how brave you are for trying this and that hes proud of you IM SOBBING

will also tell you to look at him if you get more afraid by seeing it on your skin

Honestly even if you dont wanna do it yourself, he'll make sure to be there and will praise you every time you get through with it bc you KNOW he means it

Honestly makes you tear up everytime and u just wanna kiss this man fr

you thank him and tell him how glad you are to have him, he'll be smitten even more than he already is

Cup his face with your hands and kiss him bro's gonna find it really difficult to not stay at home and just be in your arms

at the end of the day, his love for you exceeds his ideals so he wouldnt mind arriving at work some minutes later if he gets to have you in his arms for a bit longer

Will arrive at work with such a good mood that hes prob gonna freak dazai out with it especially when he overlooks some dumb remarks from him the power of love YALL but who can blame him, his heart is thumping louder than dazai's rambling LOL

when you told him about the pen for the first time, he was literally thrown off like "wait, so you have to.... stab yourself regularly with that?????"

hes just SO precious bc his heart's squeezing at you asking him if he could help u bc you just feel so comfortable and just knowing that makes him SWOON

But at the same time hes panicking bc HOW CAN HE DO THAT WITHOUT HURTING U

will he feel bad for arriving at work a bit later? Maybe but a scolding from kunikida wont hold him back from holding you for a tad bit longer

Honestly its gonna be a mix of every reaction possible I think

Like if you tell him about the pen, hes first gonna feel a bit pressured like "O-Oh wait so you want ME to help with it??"

Like no offense hes obviously feeling pretty happy about that you are asking him for help especially for smth important as your health

But he knows hes not the most gentle person and does have his worries that he might accidentally hurt you or smth

who's your fave bsd character and whose the character from bsd you want to have more screen time?

i think its another case of projecting onto someone and it fucking things up. like notably how kouyou projects her own feelings abt light & dark onto kyouka. we just dont often see it that way because what oda does is like. stereotypically good? he uses his dying words to push a friend out of the dark. a death motivating others to act and furthering their character development is classic storytelling. you go into bsd knowing dazai is on the "good guys" side (not that the ada are "bad" but obviously reading bsd as a good guys vs bad guys story is. wrong), so clearly it worked out. so you kind of overlook the surrounding events yk? plus dazais own idolization of oda hammers that in. dazai tells atsushi that "He was a friend of mine (...) He’s the reason I quit the Port Mafia and joined the agency. I’d probably still be killing people for the mafia if it wasn’t for him" in dead apple (the lightnovel. im not going to go through pulling up the movie for this fhfhtndj). and so aside from previous bias people are going to take what dazai says at face value. hes thankful oda showed him the "side that saves people" and of course we're going to agree with that. the thing is. again. projection. now i havent actually finished dark era (i am working through it) but a lot of the time it feels like oda is just shoveling off all his feelings about being "someone meant for the darkness" onto dazai when thats something thats not going to be true for. well. anyone really? and his final conversation with dazai is very influenced by that. he says "You told me if you put yourself in a world of violence and bloodshed, you might be able to find a reason to live... (...) You won’t find it (...) You should know that. Whether you’re on the side that takes lives or the side that saves them, nothing beyond your own expectations will happen. Nothing in this world can fill the hole that is your loneliness. You will wander the darkness for eternity". now the thing is this is kind of a fucked up thing to say to an 18 year old with suicidal tendencies, but odas view of dazai makes it seem like a well needed wake up call. he obviously had good intentions. hes trying to "step into that solitude" but because of his flawed view of dazai he kind of. stumbles. dazai up to this point has been clinging onto the hope that he'd find a reason to live by observing the entire human experience. now oda comes along and dazai thinks hes found someone who understands him better than anyone, and oda tells him hes not going to find that. ever. so he should become a better person and make the world a good place. and also he's dying. so dazai, as we've seen, takes these words to heart. so hes not going to find a reason to live but he should also make the world a better place. good cool got that. so i think he gets a bit too comfortable being collateral for a good cause. and hes already convinced hes not going to find anything here, so of course hes not going to find anything. does that make sense.

i dont think ive phrased anything correctly here but like anyway i think with all his other friends around he'll be able to sort things out there. i cant see bsd ending without any sort of resolution for him in this regard yk.

okay did i barely change this? yeah. buttt i wanna talk about the lil story idea reasons made this peice(other than practices wanted to do)

rambles under cut so is nice to scroll through

you have entered my ramble zone. this was your mistake.

anyways!! so for this the lil backstory i made is that, dazai snuck off from work to slack off. leaving his trench coat over some pillows to make it look like he was napping again wile he snuck out of the building. this was also one of chuuyas rare days off. they run into eachother to both of their perceived annoyances, fighting themselves into an alley way. dazai ends up with chuuyas hat and somehow they both end up in a metal crate.

little did they know(they sorta knew but yknow) there was a new sorta gang in the port that had heard of double black and planned this. the box is welded shut and they made sure it was small enough so dazai and chuuya would alwase be touching(so chuuya cant activate his powers and somehow get them out). mabey there was a user with a temporary sleep ability to help stuff out?

im not fully sure- what do they do in the box? you can decide ;> ;> i think at some point atsushi ends up saving them but for now all there is is them and a box. letting this idea go free for anyone who wants to expand on it, only thing i ask is link back to art so others that may wanna see can see and that you somehow link it to me to read because i would go crazy and love to see smth- yee yee thats all thank youuu

thoughts on the role of the protagonist in bungo stray dogs

today im talking abt the protagonist stuff i see in the fandom all the time! i'll only be talking abt dazai and atsushi here, but anyway dazai would NOT make a good bsd protagonist, not personality wise nor thematically.

first of all, the story of bsd is about people who are lost, who dont know how to live. atsushi is the best fit for that thematically because he starts the story at the very bottom: just kicked out of the orphanage, no friends, etc etc. by the time that the story takes place, dazai has already gotten a good chunk into his little healing journey so its not a good idea for him to be the protagonist because part of him is no longer a "stray dog" thematically.

another thing is that the story could not follow pm dazai, this is because the story of bsd at the end of the day is partially abt the strength of perseverance and hope and its a story about choosing to do the right thing, it would be thematically contradictory for it to follow pm dazai. anyway atsushis personality also fits because he is honest, uncertain, yet he is also determined. he has a stronger connection to the shows themes overall.

also, dazai wouldnt be a good protag simply because the story would be too simplified. dazai views the world in a very complicated way, which would muddle the story, but he also solves everything too easily which would remove the stakes.

as the author himself stated, dazai fits best into the mentor role because he is a living representation of the eventual success that comes to a person if they ig apply the overall themes of the story in their life? hes kind of a success story at the point of the current story and i feel like the story also sorta needs that solid proof of how strong its themes can be like i just mean like the story needs someone who's already gone through a mostly complete arc to reinforce its themes and their actual relevance. and dazai also likes being secretive so hes cuter as a mentor idk also atsushi needs guidance and i cant think of anyone else who could do that for him you know??

also a lot of the story parallels fall apart if atsushi isnt the protag bc the parallel between dazai and chuuya is strengthened by the one between akutagawa and atsushi and vice versa.

also a character like dazai who has a lot of connections and fits in a lot of places in the plot is best in a secondary role because they can guide/push the story along with their influences but they dont drive the story firsthand because if they did then it would be cheap/not really earned and bsd is partially abt thriving after making an effort. in conclusion, atsushi is a good, thematically sound protagonist, and as much of a good character as dazai is, he doesnt fit into the protagonist role

There are some posts I've seen floating around that at the start Dazai may not of known that Chuuya wasn't a vampire which I kind of agree with. I'm at work currently so I cant double check but when he goes "that's a nasty trick you've pulled fydor" im pretty sure its in his thoughts?? To which why would he think that if he knew the whole time. I think dazai must of caught onto the fact Chuuya was faking it at somepoint but not sure when that would of been. Also at the end of the ep Dazai said he didn't have a plan. (I did watch the episode at just after 2am my time when it came out and then fell asleep afterwards so my memory could be not correct). I do think chuuya not being a vampire at all is a little disappointing tbh but this idea softens the blow. Would like to know your thoughts on this idea if you are open to sharing?

I'm in that category too, yes. I've left a few tags saying basically the same thing on some posts.

First, there are a few things the anime didn't answer (more than failing to justify Chuuya faking it since the start, there's Sigma's case about needing to help the ADA, which... didn't happen at all) so either we haven't seen the repercussions of this arc yet, or we got the shortened version of what the manga will offer. Which could work either way. (not ideal necessarily, but besides huffing what can we do huh)

Dazai not knowing though! Dazai did admit to his "plan" being to mostly adapt on the fly and trust his allies to help him back. He implied this prison break was one big trust fall. But that's how I've always interpreted Dazai's way of planning! I even made a post about it a full year ago!

Since Dazai knows Chuuya slowed down the elevator (which I can accept, Dazai's ability shouldn't affect random objects he touches, and Fyodor had told Chuuya through a comm to go finish off Dazai because he wasn't in the room), I assume that by then he was aware. Maybe not before though. Definitely not at first. Because this?

I refuse to believe was entirely scripted. Why is he acting? For Sigma? For corpses? I'm of the opinion that no matter what is going on through Dazai's head, his expressions are always genuine (ex: he might react with surprise at something he completely expected, if only because of how sudden it was, or when/how it ended up happening. Here? genuine distress.)

And I extend that feeling to Dazai having an emotional moment, complete with flashbacks, while "drowning" Fyodor and Chuuya. He did say he wasn't expecting to kill them that way, but perhaps it really was a moment of weakness triggered by concern or guilt.

I can accept Dazai having caught on during his face-off with Chuuya. That's Mr I-know-your-breathing-patterns we have here, so if they didn't high-five after the elevator crash-landing (still broke Dazai's leg), I would say Dazai knows physics enough to go "hold on" and connect the dots. So yes, that baiting of Chuuya, the light taunting, the bratty attitude he only really has with Chuuya, the angry YELLING and insults when Chuuya shot him in the shoulder? The destiny talk? Yeah I can re-contextualize those as Dazai over-acting his part. And then not being able to shut up after being shot in the head.

Maybe there's some reaching here, maybe this will not be totally accurate to the source material. But Asagiri does have a habit to write scenes from an outsider pov while knowing whats happening in the characters' heads and behind the scene, but then not give us that input directly. Never before today was it confirmed that Dazai improvises a lot in his plans. And yet! That's something I've believed in for a very long time.

This all could very well be covering Asagiri's poor decisions, but between this being the adaptation and bsd being an unfinished story, I have a hard time deciding at the moment how much of a poor decision this was. Maybe it's worth a raised eyebrow. Maybe it deserves some criticism in hope the author takes notes. Maybe this was an anime-original resolution due to time constraints (think of the Fifteen final fight). I can only raise concerns for now, and wait.

#bsd being a monthly release is also detrimental to its pacing #the chapters in the last+ year were very short and suspense-heavy #which makes it look cheaper than if you took a break and read them all in one go #there's a balance in there #i don't know if asagiri really writes with our time perception in mind. maybe he just writes the story and then it's divided in chapters #and that's that. who cares if there's 6 months between those two entries.#bsd #bsd s5 #bsd spoilers #apparently i talk sometimes #ask answered

Basically they're extremely drawn by art, notice the most niche and least noticeable things and 'it makes sense in my head sorry' is their daily sentence which leads them to feel alone and not understood. The way the eyes of that women were slightly casted down, the dark colored theme, the way the posture was drawn, everything seemed so right.

That was something everyone could see, yet even the way the clothes hung from her body made an important difference to the picture „Can you see her naked shoulder and the robe that almost seems to be put on lazily?“ you had begun your sentence, „it resembles her innocence and purity, no men could ever touch her..“ your voice got a little dreamier on the end. It took you some seconds to notice that’s Dazai didn’t respond. You immediately got embarrassed „it made sense in my head.. sorry“

You looked to your feet, cursing yourself out for saying such stupid things to him as if he could understand what you were thinking… if he could ever understand how you felt when the art practically screamed for you to tell its story, because you knew no one else could quite think like you. No one could. You were alone in this world that seemed to abandon you. Reject you from society as if you weren’t a human being. As if, the moment you shared a piece of your mind, you were no longer human..

You snapped out of your thoughts as you felt a soft hand on your shoulder „Yea, but also look at her hips, the way her robe curves there.“ he pointed subtly to were he meant, „she also seems tense, as if to say that she knew what the men around think of her.“ impressed you looked up to the tall brunette „You saw that?“ in response, Dazai only chuckled „Of course, you are not the only one that has a unique way to see and think.“ his hand gently squeezing your shoulder

this has been sitting in my askbox since september and im really sorry anwsering took so long, but ive been trying to articulate how the last few chapters/last episode made me feel and im still not sure, because there have been so many bizzare choices made by both asagiri and the ppl behind the anime i still cant wrap my head around it fully (this got stupid long sorry)

starting with fukuzawa, i made a post a while back talking abt how i was assuming he was going to die/why it'd make a lot of sense, and there were really two main reasons for that; 1. he hasnt had anything interesting to offer for the story for a while and 2. his ability actively stops other important characters (mainly atsushi and kyouka) from further developement. the first thing is now gone which im pretty happy with! i love fukuzawa a lot so it's nice to see him finally have a purpose in the main story and im excited to see where it will go (also fukufuku you will always be famous to me <3333333), but the issue of his ability is still very much here. ive seen ppl theorize that all men are equal is just him lying and there is no ability but i honest to god would hate that, bc it would seem like such a shallow twist. atsushi's conflict with the tiger is central to his character so if it suddenly got revealed that a huge reason why he's even capable of using his power is just placebo "believe in yourself" bullshit i think i'd tear my own hair out. so im still thinking fukuzawa may get killed at some point, esp with the position he's been put into now and how much he seems to not want it.

and as for the "chuuya was never a vampire" fiasco, i honestly have no words, it was so unbelievably bad. ik there's been a ton of posts about how "its actually good" bc fyodor's death was caused by his inability to trust, and dazai's belief in his allies is what put him at an advantage, which is nice yeah, but it doesnt change how fucking stupid of a plan that was. if their goal is to kill fyodor, why not do it in that flooded room? fyodor escapes solely bc chuuya gets him out but if he was concious the entire time why not just leave him there? why continue to pretend? im usually not a huge fan of getting angry over plot holes when the narrative and themes are whats more important, but this is just so blantantly stupid. it feels like asagiri just wanted a plot twist for a plot twist's sake. mersault in general is so poorly constructed as an arc (dazai communicating via his heartbeat,,,, give me a break) but at least you'd hope it would end in a way that makes you excuse all of that, and then it doesn't. i think this post sums up how i feel about this than i ever could

and the fact that its december and we are STILL behind the fucking anime asagiri be so for real. it's easy to see now that the constant half chapters and short releases were a deliberate choice to have the anime catch up which i dont love, but fine, whatever. but now??? what the point of half releases? these chapters have been ready for a long time, and there's no way asagiri and the editors and whoever else is involved arent aware of how frustrated the readers have been for years now. the only explanation i can think of is that maybe the manga will have a different arc conclusion and ctheyre trying to idk, make it seem like we're following the anime closely? idk this shit is so stupid

overall this past arc or two have been bad, there are some elements that make them enjoyable still, but there is no theme consistency and overreliance on cliff hangers (that ppl still somehow buy). it feels like there are no stakes to the story, and that's really bad. maybe it's why i was hoping for fukuzawa to be killed alongside fukuchi idk, it'd finally feel like something is changing

on a brief positive note i quite enjoyed fyodors death, weird catholic freak, ofc nikolai is cradling your arm like this. i was a little suprised to see fyodor killed just yet (bc he always needed to die for the story to be able to wrap up eventually), but given the jesus quote, he may as well come back in some way tbh

#and then there the bsd anime sucks issue #s5 in particular but i think its in huge part bc it seems to have been rushed #like dazai leaving mersault with no blood on his clothes/suddenly walking with no issue #and again. so sorry for not anwsering for months im really bad at running a blog #ask

I love the way you write Dazai, it feels so real and so him. The ending has left me feeling sad for the reader but at the same time I feel that it’s bittersweet.

Part of me wishes reader would just try to move on, meet more people, have a rebound maybe (like kinda the reader using someone to try to forget about him). BUT another part of me wishes that both of them could move forward, AHH I better stop before I end up writing you a thousand pages of my thoughts about the wonder that you have written!!

Was what the man said before throwing the severely injured form yours infront of Dazai. The boy’s eyes widened as he ran to you ignoring the fleeing men.

“Y/N!”

He bent down to you and held you close to his chest. “Love, can you hear me?!” He desperately shouted before cupping your face with one hand making you look up to him.

You eyes were losing their light...”Y/N DONT LEAVE ME PLEASE!” He pleaded as tears were forming in his eyes, this isn’t how your story should end. Your eyes opened a little and the first thing to meet your eye was the crying form of your lover.

“Osamu don’t cry...what happened to the heartless executive?” You joked despite being in death’s way.

He replied still tears falling down his face “I DONT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING JUST PLEASE DONT LEAVE ME. JUST HANG ON A LITTLE LONGER AND WE WILL BOTH BE OKAY; WE WILL BOTH START SAVING PEOPLE TOGETHER LIKE ODASAKU SAID!”

Right, this is after the death of his dear friend. Are you going to follow the same path as him?

He wouldn’t be able to handle it...No it you too. Anyone but you, he, still tears escapin his eyes uncontrollably, hoped for anything to happen that can save you.

Your hand reached weakly to Dazai’s faces wiping his tears as blood came out of almost everywhere from you body. Your stained with blood figure broke him.

“Osamu, it’s fine..I am glad the last thing I see before my death is you though.” You smiled weakly at the end of your sentence while Dazai said “Love don’t say that, you will be okay, you will be alright, please...”

You carreseed his cheek in hopes of giving him at least some of the warmth left in your will-be-corpse of a body then spoke softly “Honey, you should try living and maybe find a woman that will make you happier-“ “THERE IS NO ONE IN MY HEART AND THERE WILL BE NO ONE OTHER THAN YOU!”

“You are the only one that I can ever show my true self to, the only one I can be happy with, the only one I feel complete with so please..please Y/N don’t leave me. I am begging you.” He sobbed harder then ever before eyes starting to get swollen because of how much he cried.

“You can try-“ “I DONT WANT TO LIVE WITHOUT YOU- I cant live without you. Love you are the only reason why I am alive and the only reason I look forward to tomorrow..”

You smiled as you saw a light..is this the end? You leaned more into his chest with a body colder than before, “You know, you have a good heart deep down, love. And like Odasaku said be on the side that saves people.”

You pulled him weakly to you, lips connecting for the last time in your lives with tears cascading down his face like a waterfall. He didn’t want to let go, not yet. He held onto you until you both pulled back.

He wanted to savor it all, but this was too short and when you said with your last breath..

“I love you.”

His world broke.

Your body went numb. No warmth. Your hand left his cheek hitting the concrete like hammer sentencing the death of one’s life at court. Difference being that right now you couldn’t be proven innocent. Nothing could be done to stop what happened.

The body in his arms still reminding him about the pain and sorrow, not that he would ever forget this night. This fateful night that broke every opening he made in his heart because she restored his faith in living a little.

His empty heart now as black as coal as he screamed in absolute agony and pain. Strained voice and swollen red eyes. He is too tired and hurt to do anything but he swore to avenge you. Why him out of everyone?

But he couldn’t concentrate on anything but what he felt like and with all what he knows.

And with that all he knew. All he knew was.

Desolation, isolation, despair, sorrow, hatred and pain is all he knew at the moment. Misery is what he went through till this moment, but what happened right now is worth millions of other corpses. The light of his life disappearing after he, after more than sorrow one could go through, finds it.

Does the world hate him this much?

But he couldn’t care less about what the world thought about him.

After his cries when quiet, the boy stood up carrying in his arms. You deserve a better place to be buried in. He put your corpse in a safe place before he turned around for the foes.

“no one is leaving this place alive.”

And so he was true to his words, there wasn’t a single living body all around him; all dead bodies with blood splattered on them but none of them mattered.

A truly terrifying massacre; one cause by an 18 year old who lost his dear person. There was no sign of life. No heartbeating. No sounds. Silence filled the air. A very painful silence.

It made him think again about his lover whom he approached her cold body and placed his head on her chest still reaching out for her hope despite it all. Tears dwelling in his eyes all over again.

“I am sorry, belladonna.”

“Nakajima Atsushi-kun.”

“Yes?” Answered said male his superior.

“Do you know whose grave this is?”

“No but it’s someone dear to you, right?”

‘Dearer than the sun to the plant, dearer than the money to the poor, dearer than a pen to a writer, and dearer than the oxygen to a human...’ thought the brunette.

“What makes you think that?” The brunette asked.

“I’ve never seen you pay a visit to a grave.” The white haired boy replied.

“Does it look like I am visiting a grave to you?” Then the man asked.

“It does. Why?”

‘Then I am glad that my feelings reach someone, maybe it can reach her too...’

“Was it someone you were in love with?” The white haired boy continued.

The brunette’s eyes widened at the guess but narrowed again as he remembered the events.

‘Somoene I am so in love with that no one can replace the hole in my heart that they filled with ease. The only person that saw through me with no effort and always stayed by my side. I never wanted to see her hurt or in pain. I wanted her to be the happiest.’

“If it were a woman I loved; I’d have died with her”

‘Wrong, i couldn’t stand seeing you in pain or hurt. Let alone see you dying. But I did. And if it isn’t the most painful thing my heart went through then I don’t know what is...’

“Oh yeah I guess you would’ve..” the white haired boy concluded.

“Dazai-San why are you crying?” Atsushi asked worry lacing his words.

Dazai’s eyes widened in shock as he touched his cheek to feel hot tears streaming down his face.

He chuckled bitterly before he looked up ‘would you look at that y/n, my love, even in death you shoot my heart and make me the most vulnerable man to live..’

“I got something in my eye let’s just go.”

‘You would think I am doing well but belladonna I swear I can’t continue living like this. I will join sooner or later but I want to make sure nothing will happen after my death...’

‘I love you belladonna...my y/n’

sorry for taking forever! some irl things came up

-writing for chuuya is hard bc all the gifs of him are so cool

-so im using dog chuuya for this one

-moving on

-chuuya does not put any thought before asking you to move in with him

-you mentioned it once in passing and he responded with 'yeah, why the hell not?'

-as stated before his house is filled with dog pictures

-he LOVES cooking

-do not get in his way while he cooks

-itll just be a mess for everyone involved

-if you want a cutesy-fun couple activity hes much more fond of walks in the park

-in fact he likes to go on at least one long walk every week

-and hes always delighted when you tag along

-if you get tired and cant finish the walk dont worry he'll just use his ability and carry you back home

-also enjoys going shopping with you

-he knows the ins and outs of every current fashion trend and will happily help you pick clothes out

-be warned though he likes to only buy the most expensive stuff

-he personally has no plans to get married

-deep inside the fear that hes not 'human' enough lingers

-however if one day years into your relationship you were on a night walk and turned to look at him

-the wind softly rustling your clothes and the streetlamps reflecting in your eyes

-he smiled and didnt notice his ability start until the two of you were above the trees and you gripped onto his shirt

-"chuu!" you had exclaimed

-but nothing was phazing him

-it was the happiest he had ever been in his life

-the second happiest

-as your hands folded into his

-and the expensive suit he was wearing felt 1 million degrees

-he was shaking

-had he ever shaken this hard before?

-and you noticed his fear

-(you always could read him better than he could read himself)

-and all at once the world melted away

-there was only pure bliss

-"to the person who makes me feel truly human" he had added to his vows "i promise to protect you for the rest of our lives"

-"to the person who hangs dog pictures on our ceiling," (he had laughed nervously. he didnt know you saw those) "i promise to protect and care for you the rest of our lives"

-thats when chuuya cried

-he kissed you as hard as he could

-tears burning his eyes as he pulled away for air

-"i love you." chuuya whispered and he knew that this

-this would be the happiest moment of his life

-he LOVES clingy people

-once you move in with him (or him with you. He doesn’t mind either way) he finds himself falling much further in love then he thought possible

-he’s also a terrible cook

-terrible awful cook

-if you enjoy cooking you’ll need to forcibly keep him out of the kitchen to stop him from ruining your meal

-like Chuuya he enjoys talking walks

-his walks are much less peaceful however

-he likes to talk about whatever’s on his mind as he walks

-though frankly he enjoys listening to you blabber much more

-insists on movie date nights

-he picks the movie one week and you pick the movie the next week and so on and so forth

-his movies are typically tragic love stories

-you asked him why one day and all he did was smile and shake his head

-“there are some secrets I’d rather keep, Belladonna.”

-eventually you wrote it off as another mystery about Dazai Osamu

-it takes a long time before he lets you change his bandages

-the entire time hes smiling sadly and refusing to make eye contact

-(your fingers are so smooth compared to his. he’ll never forget the feeling of your fingers tracing the new bandages, making sure they fit right)

-now unlike Chuuya he has put a lot of thought into marriage

-he’s fantasized about it for years but always wrote it off as a pipe dream

-though his dream marriage isn’t really anything official

-he thinks ‘love’ is something that you can’t put on display or into a certificate

-when the two of you get serious he’s very clear about this dream of his

-to his surpise (and joy!) you smiled and kissed his cheek telling him you’re okay with that

-if you want a big wedding dazai will compromise for two weddings

-one thats incredibly low effort, just the two of you drinking wine and getting lost

-and the other thats everything youve ever dreamed of

-in fact during his vows for the ‘second’ wedding he’ll grab your hands and look out towards the audience

-”they told me if you love them so much, i should just marry them. so i did! twice.”

-about half a year after the wedding the two of you were lying in bed

-you were half-asleep and dazai smiled softly

-”belladonna, did i ever answer your question?”

-”wha?”

-”i watched them so often because i wanted to remind myself that we’d have a happy ending.”

-you looked at him through sleepy eyes, confusion lacing your expression as he kissed your forehead

-”osamu...”

-”sleep, belladonna. i’ll remind you in the morning.”

-and as you quickly drifted off to sleep he finally felt the stress in his shoulders dissolve

-”a happy ending...” he muttered to himself

-(though, he feels any ending that includes you loving him was the happiest ending he could get)

-he went further into the sheets and let his eyes close

-maybe... maybe he’ll get the story he never thought he deserved

i finished rereading your recent tsuki one and congrats on making me simp for the hq chara that i dont usually simp for 🥺 how dare you make me feel things im a bad bitch they cant hurt me 😤 (lol theyre 2D too what am i talking about)

can i ask what are your thots on tsuki as a character as a whole? also i hc tsuki being super into bsd? nanny tsuki watching bsd as his way of getting close to you. so heavily invested in the lore that he starts taking notes 😌 maybe lowkey jealous of a certain character 😳

asdfghjkl I've always liked Tsukki from like day one but I like sarcastic softies heuheuheu And I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks of fictional characters being fans of other shows 😂 My wife and I do it all the time with our favs and whatever show we're watching.

Onwards to thots about Tsukishima + bsd...

In terms of the type of show, I think Bungou is right up his alley. But if you watched it too? Immediately adds to his check list of reasons he sees you as the perfect partner. Tsukki likes the lore heavy themes and well plotted story. Leading to him totally keeping an inner clump of random facts about Bungou just to impress you with. Things like "Did you know Akutagawa's and Dazai's namesakes actually swapped roles? Dazai admired Akutagawa and his work and was crush when he died." And the list is endless for the poets and authors Tsukki noted that tie in closely to the show and it's symbolism. But Tsukki is a smart man, this is the kinda trivia he'd keep in his head no matter what.

What he really likes about the fact you both watch it? Is it's a reason you ask him to hang around "after work" hours. Even if he isn't getting paid he'll jump at the idea to stay at your place and watch your shows with you. Kid asleep, lights dimmed and ending with you leaning into his lap on the couch fast asleep. Tsukki is sweating bullets but in a good way. Like his hearts going to burst out of his chest but he won't move an inch. Drowning in his thoughts about how he's envisioning the two of you married, doing this nightly and all the other things married people do 😏

uhhh kinda stupid lmao but like,,, instead of atsushi being the brains in shin soukoku he’s like the heart? If that makes sense lol. Okay, so Fukuzawa and Mori were both pretty strategic and strong at the same time(ik they weren’t soukoku technically but like), Soukoku had Dazai as a brain and Chuuya as the brawn. Except, Dazai was intelligent in an analytical way?? While Atsushi is more emotionally intelligent. That’s why i think he’s more heart than brain, but still technically the brawn. Meanwhile, Akutagawa is the brawn obv but is only with Atsushi due to a single goal:to impress Dazai. So, yea. They aren’t on good terms, but at the same time they need each other too.

So basically, what im trying to say is this: brain and brawn CAN be aligned with each other. But heart and brawn are a little... harder to align but it’s a good combination too. Hope this made sense^^

while “heart” is an important aspect to have in a world as bleak as BSD universe, it's not something that necessarily matters in the missions they have to do. what's important are their capability to think up of a solution to solve their problems, which they haven't been able to do without dazai holding their hands, unfortunately.

not to mention, we have seen atsushi straight up not empathizing with the enemies of BSD at all, even after finding out their tragic backstory. it's not just akutagawa that he refuses to understand, take a look at how he handled fitzgerald. if bsd was a shounen manga, when atsushi found out his daughter is dead, atsushi would surely empathize with him. but no, this is seinen, and atsushi focuses on the important matter which is fitzgerald was fucking insane for willing to destroy an entire city to gamble on the possibillity that he can revive his daughter. plus BSD is the kind of story that shows even kindness, 'heart', is not enough to help people without the skills to back it up. (yosano's kindness led to her being called an angel of death, kunikida's kindness led to children being used against him). and as mentioned before, atsushi and akutagawa haven't gotten to the point where they can do it without dazai guiding them.

they already work well without each other, and their teamwork was the worst because it was forced upon them by dazai. both atsushi and akutagawa wanted to impress dazai, however atsushi has no desire to work with akutagawa despite of it, while akutagawa forces himself to be okay with it by rationalizing that atsushi was a trial dazai set for him.

which leads to the latest chapter, where they define their 'trust' for each other based on knowing that dazai would abandon akutagawa if atsushi was to die, with the heavy implication that dazai wouldn't care as much if akutagawa was the one who die instead.

in the end, shin soukoku is less about akutagawa and atsushi, and more about dazai trying to fix his past mistakes without actually acknowledging it.

and back to my own words:

i do think theyre a pretty powerful duo, esp with their team up move. raw power? a lot. but raw power isnt enough for them to be soukoku material. and emotional intelligence just isnt gonna get the job done.

i just cant say that they need each other, because emotionally theyre bad for each other, and they don’t really fill in anything that the other is lacking in regards to fighting.
