no thats fair i love being nitpicky i super support it. if you dont mind i love discussing stuff like this so just let me put on my theorizing hat for a second because im a little bit feral about nanite mechanics
its not something talked about but the thing is that canonically, nanites self-replicate. (its... one of the many inconsistencies the show has to offer, considering that one of the things the omega-1 is touted for is "creating new nanites". you gotta kinda pick and choose your canon and this makes more sense than the alternative so let me explain).
césar says in mixed signals that just before his little sublight drive jump, the scientists had "triggered a replication cycle" which is presumably how the *entire world* got infected because listen. theres no way they made enough nanites in the first place to infect the whole world. so nanites have to be able to sustain themselves and create more nanites to be able to properly infect every living organism on a global scale.
so, with that in mind, yeah i think the nanites could spread pretty far in ben10verse, albeit the amount of nanites an organism would have is WAY way less than in genrex and the amount of people who actually have nanites would be lower. widespread, but not dense, yk? and it wouldnt happen as quickly/aggressively/dramatically as it did in genrex since ben would be patient zero, rather than a giant explosion that devastated an entire landscape. but thats why i say his entire universe would be affected!
I just saw your post about Ben 10, and am now curious. What are your thoughts on the Ben 10/Gen Rex crossover movie? I personally adore it and wished they had made more! The two universes work really well together.
i ADORE the crossover its so fun!! that was like the coolest shit ever when i first watched it. the multiverse/alternate dimension thing slots right into generator rex honestly
what kills me though which i have been thinking about ever since it aired: because ben was in the genrex world, ben got infected with nanites which means he has now infected his entire UNIVERSE with nanites and theres absolutely NO way to cure anyone who turns evo over there because theres no rex dfhjklsdhf

I just saw your post about Ben 10, and am now curious. What are your thoughts on the Ben 10/Gen Rex crossover movie? I personally adore it and wished they had made more! The two universes work really well together.

ok listen i was a ben 10 girlie like anyone else obsessed with cartoons from the 2000s. i fucking LOVE the show let me start with that. ive rewatched the og series and alien force and ultimate alien multiple times. but i have such a hard time creating fanart/fic or even just engaging in general fandom because something doesnt quite click right and ive realized why: its because i cant dehumanize ben
ben turns into so many different aliens that it no longer matters. theyre costumes rather than a complete change with consequences. i would so much rather he get infected with one kind of super turbo powerful alien dna and we see how that changes him, physically and mentally, as he navigates this new world of monsters and fights aliens and eventually has to be made a peacekeeper of the universe all because he accidentally ended up with the omnitrix.
i want to see him go through whats basically alien puberty because hes growing into this and the omnitrix was never supposed to go to a literal child and i want him to lose his humanity as he gets lost in this world and never be able to go back.
i understand why we didnt get it and im not at all mad about it because i know this is a very specific thing i personally like to see. i just dont have the energy to make my own au so im ranting but man. i can dream.
also i want the necrofriggian babies back. i want to see ben raising his kids. i want him to struggle with being a teen dad. give me consequences to the silly events and let him go through the horrors and grow from it
#i love second gen content! but only when its drama filled and the parents really shouldnt be parents#and have to deal with so many hardships#and learn and fuck up sometimes and grow from the experience#whether its because of their attitude or trauma or because theyre too young#and ben is all three of those things!!!#this is a recipe catered specifically to me but we dont get to have any fun with it in canon#and i know why. but also im chewing cardboard about it#faeloops#ben 10
