The first episode of Davos 1917 was fine but not amazing. However still enough for me to continue the series.
Btw I highly recommend choosing the OV audio over the German audio if you watch it via ARD Mediathek. In the German audio everything is dubbed over while in the OV you also got English and Swiss Dialect which are subbed that makes the series more authentic for its supposedly international setting. E.g. it just makes much more sense if the British consul actually speaks English than German.

Non ne vit réellement que dans cet instant où on est prêts à mourir…
Bien souvent quand la vie et la mort se rencontrent, notre moi profond se révèle…
On découvre enfin qui on est vraiment, tout le reste n’est qu’une mascarade…

Just saying man. If Covid was a plot to instill a facist regime across the world, why go with an accelerationist plan? The movement was going very well from 2016 to 2018; slow and steady. The pandemic brought on social unrest and a resistance movement. Sounds more like they were sabotaging themselves (whoever "they" are) by attempting to bring societal collapse.
No, I didn't say it was planned or a plot by the elite to subjugate the people, the release of the virus from the Wuhan Institute of Virology was completely accidental, the CCP's mismanagement of containing the spread most likely wasn't deliberate either.
Governments will use any crisis to gain power, and once they have this power they will never relinquish said power, we have seen this time and time again, from the 1980's when Pierre Trudeau created a crisis to enact emergency powers and install his previously rejected Charter of Rights and Freedoms, (which overwrote the Canadian constitution by adding a line which basically reads as "you have all the rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution, unless the government says so") to 9/11.
Hell, both Canada and the US have had to suffer under 100 years of paying a "temporary" wartime tax, known as income tax, and before anyone cites leftist articles supporting the taxation let us go over history, in Canada at least, the original tax act of 1917 was to finance the war effort, all eleven pages of it. Finance Minister White said it would be a temporary tax and so insisted it be called a "war tax" so that once the war ended, it would be. Instead, in 1921 the government added a sales tax, and even more over the years since.
Governments do not relinquish power, unless they are made to.
We have no evidence that the Governments of the world had ever planned for the Coof outbreak, well, other than
Event 201 is a damning thing for those who remember it, it was held in 2019, it simulated an outbreak of a novel zoonotic coronavirus transmitted from bats to pigs to people that eventually became efficiently transmissible from person to person, leading to a pandemic. The pathogen and the disease it caused were modeled largely on SARS, but it is more transmissible in the community setting by people with mild symptoms.
The scenario ends at the 18-month point, with 65 million deaths. The pandemic begins to slow due to the decreasing number of susceptible people. The pandemic continues at some rate until there is an effective vaccine or until 80-90% of the global population had been exposed.
The Governments of the world reacted the way they did because they trained themselves to do so, this isn't even the first event of its kind, they run scenarios like this every year at Davos, from Nuclear engagements to viral epidemics.
But the truly terrifying thing aren't the world leaders, but those who have openly admitted to infiltrating governments around the world.
Lead by a man who decried the Great Reset as a conspiracy despite his own website having this and he himself having authored a book called COVID-19: The Great Reset.
A man, and an organization that wants you to own nothing and be happy by 2030, fucking German economists.
They're still moving forward with the WEF's plans for digital IDs, which work the same as China's social credit system.
Listen, my point is, they do want you under their thumb, they aren't the most competent or smartest people, but they are persistent, they will whittle away at your rights until you're not when sure you had them in the first place, hell, most Canadians don't even know that prior to Pierre we had a right to self defense with a weapon at that, now you can't even use pepper spray.

As editor, artist, critic and poet Theo van Doesburg has had a profound influence on the Dutch as well as international avant-garde. But although his significance is undisputed and manifold books have been written about him the person behind the art has remained strangely opaque. Recently this gap has been closed by Hans Renders’ and Sjoerd van Faassen’s monumental biography „Ik sta helemaal alleen. Theo van Doesburg 1883-1931“, published by De Bezige Bij: the authors recount the artist’s eventful life from his upbringing as Emile Küpper, son of German photographer Wilhelm Küpper, in Utrecht until his early death in Davos in 1931. What immediately becomes clear is that he was a difficult and erratic character, prone to quarrel and intransigence: armed with a big ego and absolute confidence in his own abilities he didn’t accept dissent. He was hotheaded but also quickly felt offended, a combination that drove away even the most good-natured allies. At the same time Does was a creative powerhouse: from an early age on he drew and painted, fervently read about religion and sociology, dealt with philosophy, literature and art and eventually also became an art critic. This position soon confronted him with the latest developments in art, namely Cubism and Abstract Art, that opened his eyes for these currents. Leaving behind his earlier portrait and landscape paintings Van Doesburg embraced the new and soon associated with like-minded artists and architects like Mondrian, Oud or Van der Leck. With the De Stijl magazine in 1917 he then established an outlet for his many interests. In the years following he became a salesman for his own ideas, accompanied by his wife Nelly, holding lectures, organizing exhibitions and frequently visiting the Bauhaus hoping for a teaching position. Disillusioned they later settled in their house in France where Theo struggled with asthma and a deteriorating health that eventually caused his untimely death.
With their archive-based biography the authors finally draw attention to Does the human: without leaving out his artistic development they paint a detailed portrait of the man behind the famous name, vividly written and eye-opening.

#Repost @paintings_i_love № 2045 Ernst Ludwig Kirchner (German, 1880–1938) Die Klosterser Berge Datecirca 1923 oil on canvas, 120.5 х 120.5 cm Belvedere (Vienna) • Ernst Ludwig Kirchner was a German expressionist painter and printmaker and one of the founders of the artists group Die Brücke or "The Bridge", a key group leading to the foundation of Expressionism in 20th-century art. He volunteered for army service in the First World War, but soon suffered a breakdown and was discharged. His work was branded as "degenerate" by the Nazis in 1933, and in 1937 more than 600 of his works were sold or destroyed. Marked by his drug addiction and the horrors of the First World War, the German painter Kirchner visited Switzerland for the first time in 1917. He is looking for rest and relaxation in the area around Davos. In fact, his health improved and he not only found a new home in the canton of Graubünden, but also new motifs for his art. Fascinated by the impressive alpine landscape, he paints dramatic mountain panoramas, views of deserted terrain, monumental peaks. The energetic use of powerful colors in the composition Die Klosterser Berge is ultimately also an expression of Kirchner's deeply felt perception of the landscape that was so important to him. • #Belvedere #MasterPiece #Modernism #artforeveryone #art #fineartpainting #paintingoftheday #peinture #landscape #historiadelarte #storiadellart #beauxarts #instamuseum #artmuseum #pittura #arthistorian #peintre #malerei #19thcenturyart #20thcenturyart #oldmasters #impressionism #postimpressionism #classicalpainting #impressionismo #europeanart #impressionisme https://www.instagram.com/p/ChnEZBQIhkc/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

india: Five key areas of opportunity: Here's how India can live up to its full potential
india: Five key areas of opportunity: Here’s how India can live up to its full potential
Lenin is said to have famously remarked before the 1917 revolution, ‘There are decades where nothing happens; and there are weeks where decades happen.’ And so it seemed at Davos this year, with the implication of the Russian invasion of Ukraine being the core topic of discussion. The implications for India need to be carefully understood. No doubt, in the short run, the sharp increase in oil…
