ੈ♡˳·˖✶ — DILUC x FEM READER
Diluc runs into a once-familiar face at a ball and has a crisis.
wc — 1.4k
tags —  regency au, Diluc is the epitome of a repressed regency man trying to be proper but being violently turned on by the tiniest amount of skin, childhood playmates meet again four years later, hand flex™️, title from BNHA episode lol
Tumblr media
Diluc hadn’t been prepared to ascend to the role of patriarch of the Ragnvindr dukedom at 16, but he had been good at hiding it.
There were many things Diluc was good at hiding, and from many people, but his childhood friends couldn’t be included among them. Kaeya and Jean could always see right through him. This ability was not appreciated. Especially not when it was used to their advantage.
“Please, Diluc,” Jean says, knowing she’s wearing him down. “You know my father’s on an expedition with Varka. Who else can I ask to sponsor Barbara’s debut as a debutante?”
“Kaeya.” Diluc replies flatly.
“I love Kaeya to death, but we both know he won’t do. His reputation is in tatters!”
It was true. Kaeya was known as a bit of a lady killer. Not for the first time, Diluc cursed his brother’s less than discreet ways.
“Please, Diluc. I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t important.”
He knew she wouldn’t and Barbara was a good child who deserved to have a debut, so Diluc begrudgingly found himself playing chaperone. At least Barbara seemed to be enjoying herself. She was one of the most popular young ladies at the ball, with scores of men nearly fighting for the chance to mark their names down on her dance card.
Diluc himself was bored out of his mind. He took another sip of grape juice and realized belatedly that he had almost finished the entire bottle, as drinking to avoid conversation was all he had been doing for the past hour.
He was just thinking that as unfortunate as it was, he was ready to tell Barbara to wrap things up so he could take her home when a scuffle broke out on the dance floor. Two boys seemed to be coming to blows over who got to take Barbara’s next dance, with the poor girl caught between them.
Diluc shoved back his seat, but someone else got there first. The more he looked, the more she seemed familiar.
The memory returns to him like the first sip of water after a drought.
He was a little shocked, to be honest. It had been, what, four years? If you were who he thought you were, it was a little past the usual time to be debuting.
You had been Kaeya’s age, he remembered.
Why was it so startling that you were older now? He had grown. Obviously, you would as well.
His heart doesn’t obey the cool rationality of the mind that got him through fatui ridden Snezhnaya. It strangles itself in his chest, marching to an unsteady beat as his feet carry him slowly over to where you have separated Barbara from the boys.
They’re jeering at you, calling you a spinster, an old maid past her prime.
“If you’re not careful,” Diluc says, “you’ll be the ones with no prospects while she’s bided her time for the right man. What lady wants a husband who flies into rages over such simple matters?”
The Ragnvindr name carries the same weight it had when Diluc’s father was alive. He swallows hard. It’s always strange, watching people turn their eyes on him with the same respect they used to give his father. Crepus used to be the wise one breaking up petty arguments such as these, he and Kaeya the young and immature boys.
Now everything was different. Diluc has to face the dawn. He was the head of the Ragnvindrs now, duty bound to uphold the legacy of his clan.
“Diluc,” you stammer, a relic of a time when you had been children and manners were excusable. So you remember him, too.
Then, “Mr. Ragnvindr,” with the understanding now that things were different. That propriety was necessary.
To hell with propriety. Diluc wanted to hear you stutter over the syllables of his name again.
He doesn’t smile as he lets his gaze drift over you. He can’t. There’s too many emotions bubbling in his chest. He’s not sure what kind of expression he wants to make.
Your appearance inspires odd feelings in him, a mix of nostalgia, love, and sadness. He wants to touch your face, and feel the softness of your cheek cradled in his palm. He wants to see your eyes close as you lean into his touch. He wants to measure the tiny gap of skin between where your sleeves end and your wrists with his fingers.
Instead his hand flexes with a movement restrained.
Finally, after allowing himself one final second to drink your appearance in, he says, “Please let me escort you home.”
Barbara is unusually quiet on the carriage ride back. She darts quick glances between you and Diluc, which slightly unnerves you, even more so when she practically flies out of the carriage into Jean’s arms and starts whispering frantically. Jean nods and pats her back, waving goodbye as Diluc’s carriage trots off in the direction of your address.
You still haven’t spoken more than a few words to each other since that first moment of recognition at the ball, but when you make to leave the carriage, Diluc grabs your wrist, his fingers curling in a delicate ring. He’s careful. He’s breaking custom.
“What is it, Mr. Ragnvindr?” You prompt after a moment of silence.
Diluc looks caught in a trap. His heart is torn between longing and righteousness, wanting you and wanting what’s best for you (which is not him).
Diluc is too much himself to be any good for you. He has long since sworn off marrying anyone, knowing that the Ragnvindr line would die with him. His father would have been disappointed.
But he would be more disappointed in Diluc’s other activities, like vigilantism, so what’s one more sin to add to the list? Diluc wouldn’t take a wife just to leave her bed cold and empty. He couldn’t marry a woman so that she could wonder if he was out with someone else instead of having dinner with her. He can’t share this bloody and bruised life with anyone.
He has long since made peace with this fact.
Within his own estate, Diluc shuts the door behind him and leans his back against it. He slides down until he’s sitting with his back against the wall, head tipped back. He’s grateful all the servants have gone home but Adeline, who he knows is asleep in her room.
Feeling like a creep, he lifts his hand to his nose and sniffs tentatively. If he concentrates, he can still gather the faint whiff of your perfume lingering where his skin had touched yours.
Diluc could never be a good husband, but he dreams he could be for you. Silly, impossible dreams, but they get him to dawn.

AU of Bakugou has consequences but Izuku never gets OFA and becomes a vigilante
the vigilante thing threw me off for a bit, because i don't do a lot of straight vigilante aus, but then i remembered this one i came up with years ago when i was first getting into bnha:
bakugou does get into ua. actually, he gets ofa. once he graduates it only takes him a year to break into the top ten (not quite hawks' record but not bad either). by his second year as a hero, he's already on track to become the next all might. a lot of experts are saying its only a matter of time.
people have their misgivings about this. he's facing a lot of criticism for collateral damage and attitude problems, especially with younger fans. some reporters who don't make a habit of towing the party line worry about the example he's setting. bakugou doesn't care.
all might has his misgivings as well. he basically picked bakugou to be his successor after he won the sports fest his first year, thinking that his time was running out and he needed to make a choice. he was despondent and had given up on finding the ideal person he truly admired, but the more violent bakugou becomes, the more he feels he made the wrong decision.
izuku didn't immediately take up vigilanteism when he got rejected from ua. mostly he needed an outlet for his frustration with how unfair the world was, so he took up martial arts. when he was in college though, there were a lot of incidents in the area where he lived, and heroes didn't patrol there. he started going out on "leisurely walks" after dark, dealing with any crime he came across, and became some thing of a local legend.
that local legend becomes a not-so-local-legend when izuku accidentally stumbles on a huge trigger manufacturing operation and busts it wide open.
additional headcanons under the cut
look, it's not his fault the factory blew up. that isn't even what he got famous for. he was just trying to sabotage the equipment while he rescued a bunch of little kids that were getting used as test subjects. it's only because he got caught on camera leading them all out of the burning building, one particularly adorable little girl clutched in his arms, that anyone even knows he was there. the fact that he was silhouetted against an explosion in the background made it look like ten time more badass than it was. he was just trying not to drop her.
obviously, he gets arrested for vigilanteism, but he's been through that song and dance before. vigilanteism is classified as a form of illegal quirk use, and he doesn't have a quirk. ergo, he cannot be a vigilante. the police are still scratching their heads when they have to let him go, but he walks. the gaggle of reporters waiting outside are impressed.
the story spreads like wildfire. izuku becomes an overnight sensation. he gets given a hero name -- the green shadow -- and he has like four different fanclubs inside of a week. there's calls for him to be given a hero license, or at least some kind of award.
he keeps doing vigilante work, obviously. first some underground heroes ask him for help with a case, then a support company gives him a suit (for "cosplay purposes" obviously) and pretty soon he's doing actual patrols and meeting fans on the street. he thought giving a few radio interviews (on present mic's show! he's living the dream!) would make it all die down, but people are hungry for more of him. in just a few months, he's a household name. the calls for him to be legitimized increase.
the hpsc ignore all of that. quirkless people can't be heroes. izuku was probably just in the right place at the right time to be in that picture. they don't need to do anything, or acknowledge him in any way. that would be counterproductive, and send the wrong message to the public.
the public disagree.
the thing about the hero rankings is that not every individual person can rank every individual hero. there's thousands of heroes in japan, so even if approval rating data was gathered via website, it would be impractical for people to select from a list of choices. as such, the forms are write-in. people are given five blank spaces, and told to list the heroes they approve of most.
when approval ratings for the next billboard chart are being collected, the hero with the number one approval rating is the green shadow.
the hpsc are furious, but find that, according to their own rules, they can't actually do anything about it. they have to give him the ranking, even though he's not really a hero. a hero is defined as someone who works within the justice system and uses their natural abilities to stop crime and protect citizens, after all. technically, izuku fits that definition.
this is when bakugou becomes aware of what's been going on. he honestly didn't even register the green shadow as being a thing until he was told he got the second highest approval rating. obviously izuku isn't on the payroll, so he doesn't have a "cases resolved" stat, but being the number one most approved hero in japan is enough to get him to number 10. bakugou is pretty pissed.
he gets even more pissed when he finds out who the green shadow actually is.
bakugou does what he always does when deku gets to much attention: he goes to put the nerd in his place. unfortunately the only time he can find deku reliably is during a patrol, so he has to settle for a very public call out. he's fine with that, and fine with having witnesses while he berates deku for trying to be a hero without a quirk. he's fine being recorded while he picks a fight with deku on a crowded street. he's even fine when the cops who come to break up the fight let deku go after they drag him away. little punk's not worth arresting.
he's less fine when his approval rating takes a last minute nosedive, knocking him out of the number one spot he should have been claiming this chart, and relegating him to sixth place. lower than he's been since his debut.
it kind of goes from there. izuku keeps doing increasingly badass things. his approval rating keeps going up. the underground heroes he works with start listing him as a consultant, so he even starts getting paid and has a record of his resolved cases. over the next three charts his rank keeps climbing. first number ten, then number eight, then number seven, then jumping up to four. after two years walking the fine line between vigilante and hero, he's at number two and knocking on number one.
bakugou, meanwhile, continues to decline. he keeps getting into very public fights with deku, and while he considers himself the "winner" in each fight he notices that deku is focused not so much on him but on keeping people out of the way and minimizing damage to their surroundings. people are praising deku for "handling things so well" and "preventing collateral damage" and they're criticizing bakugou for equally stupid things. his approval rating keeps dropping. his resolved cases are dropping too, as he spends more time fighting with deku and doing public appearances to try and salvage his approval rating. his rank drops lower and lower.
the chart where bakugou drops out of the top ten is the same chart where izuku makes number one.
all might reaches out to izuku, at that point. he says he regrets giving ofa to bakugou, and that if he had the choice he would take it back. he says izuku is much worthier recipient. izuku says he wouldn't take it if he had the chance; he likes being a quirkless hero, even if he had to find a loophole to do it. however, the fact that bakugou has ofa, and is using it so recklessly, is becoming a problem. all might asks what they can do, and izuku says he has a plan.
all might throws his weight around to pressure the hpsc into giving izuku a hero license. honestly, it's kind of absurd that their number one isn't a real pro. they should be ashamed it took them this long. the hpsc cave and plan a huge public ceremony to make izuku officially a hero. maybe once the people are satisfied on that front they'll lose interest.
obviously, bakugou has to crash the ceremony and try to kill deku.
izuku does something pretty sneaky at that point. for the firs time in their professional rivalry, he gives bakugou his undivided attention. he starts talking trash, baiting bakugou, goading him to further anger. finally he drops his ultimate bomb: telling bakugou he's only worth anything because of ofa, and that if he can't win with the quirk he was born with his victory doesn't count. bakugou takes the bait, and hands ofa back over to all might like he's taking off his gloves.
bakugou loses, obviously.
after that, things wrap up pretty nicely. bakugou goes to prison for trying to kill someone, finally. izuku becomes number one, and a proper hero for all the world to see. all might gives ofa to someone who really deserves it, one of the kids izuku rescued from the trigger factory. izuku's first hero friend, eraserhead, introduces him to his student, logical ruse aka hitoshi shinsou, and it's only eighteen months before they're planning a wedding. everyone lives happily ever after.
except bakugou.

What are your top ten favorite scenes in Avatar the Last Airbender?
Thank you so much for the ask!!! Oh my god. This so hard, I've never thought of individual scenes as top favorites but I've tried my best and narrowed it down I think?
Katara v Pakku 'You can't knock me down!': So I watched Avatar when it was first airing as a kid, there weren't many dark-skinned main characters around, especially not girls who fight and certainly not against sexist men who try to stop people from learning. So when I saw this scene, I was at the edge of my seat, it taught me a lot about bravery and I still cheer and clap for Katara when I re-watch the fight.
Sokka throughout The Fortuneteller: I'm an atheist and people didn't exactly take kindly to that when I was a kid & I was infamous as the 'weird kid who probably has no morals'. So seeing Sokka outwardly express skepticism about the spirits & 'higher powers' was very comforting.
Sokka inventing the air balloon solution: I think it was one of the first scenes where I really started liking Sokka. The thing about hot air actually made me read my school textbooks & google stuff to figure out how air currents work, so that helped me with a few science classes about molecules.
Aang in The Storm: It was one of our first glimpses into how he felt about running away, the guilt, the sadness, the pain of being the last of your people with no one to turn to and thinking its all your fault.
Toph fighting the Earth Rumble goons when Aang & her dad are watching: The way she moves is so freaking cool!!! It was her showing exactly how capable she is, she isn't kidding when she says she's the world's best earthbender because yeah, who the heck else could do what she does???
Hama's flashback: Once again I watched this show as a kid, so this was the first time i got confronted with the fact that there will never be a 'perfectly good' or 'perfectly bad' side. People are complicated & I understand what pushed Hama to do what she did but that doesn't excuse it so in that vein;
Katara sucking the water out of the field to fight Hama: It's just badass even if it is angsty.
Aang pulling Ozai down by his beard and encasing him in rock: I mean-- like that is just objectively cool and very embarrassing for the 40-something year old guy. Aang was in top form.
Zuko in the bunker with Ozai: I don't watch too many new cartoons but I don't think any show has ever so explicitly called out the abuser and made sure the abuser is acknowledged as unforgivable. It really put into light for me a lot of things about child-parent relationships, what its supposed to be (forever angry at Boku No Hero Academia for using their Zuko-based character to forgive and redeem his abuser, lf you don't know anything about BNHA this means nothing to you jbcfjhbh sorry).
Yuekka last kiss: They're the ship that first introduced me to tragic romances,. My heart was broken and I kept waiting the entire 3 seasons down to the last episode for Yue to make a return and say "hey guys! so I'm a spirit I'm alive!". I still like it because idk I love angst a lot and the whole story of a princess finding glimpses of freedom in a boy who's traveled the world and yearning for it gets to me.
I'm not remembering other scenes that may have had more impact on me just yet, but a few honorable mentions; Ran and Shao's dance(I LOVE DRAGONS 100/10 they make everything better always), Zuko in the Cooler, Sokka and the cactus juice, Aang's anxiety episode.
Thank you again for asking! This was so fun to do~~

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love ❤
Thanks for the tag, @missrosegold! I’m limiting myself to my recent BNHA fics because I’ve never revealed my previous fandom name on here (I’ve shared it privately with some people though). I’m not hiding it, I’m just not keen on the idea of my older fanfiction being connected to my newer (mostly smutty) fanfiction or my original fiction.
Anyway! I’m not linking to these fics because I’m lazy but they can all be found on my Masterlist post.
1.) The League of Villains Heroes
This is my favorite despite having way fewer readers than practically anything else I’ve written. It’s not x Reader so that’s probably the issue. It’s about the LoV rebuilding their lives after the end of the story, going to therapy, getting jobs, starting families, etc. But of course they get roped into a new threat that might just turn them into reluctant heroes. I love it because it’s so cathartic to write, finally giving these broken characters the endings I feel like they deserve. And exploring Touya reconnecting with his family has been a delight.
2.) The Dark Carnival
This is a horror AU about the LoV as members of a traveling carnival/circus and the Readers who get mixed up with them. So far I’ve done Shigaraki, Mr. Compress, and Twice. Spinner and then Dabi are upcoming. I’m really fond of this one because of the horror elements. I’m a huge horror fan and much of my original fictions is either horror or horror-related. I’m also very into carnivals. I love visiting them in real life and I love stories about them. It probably started with Vampire Circus but then there was Carnivale, Funhouse, AHS: Freakshow, and various other movies/shows.
3.) Breaktime
This is a Shigaraki x Reader fic where Reader is a waitress with a crush on Shigaraki, whom she’s only seen on the news, until he comes into the bar she works at. This one is special to me because it’s the first BNHA fic I ever wrote and I had so much fun with it.
4.) Trending Topics
This is a Dabi x Reader I wrote to celebrate Dabi’s Dance being animated. By a stroke of luck, I managed to post the fic on the same day the episode aired. It was based on an idea that had been brewing in my head for at least a year beforehand, waaaay before I started writing BNHA fanfiction. I actually thought about submitting it as a request to other writers! But I never did, and now I’m glad I didn’t because I got to write it myself.
5.) The Pirate and the Mermaid
This is an AU Shigaraki x Reader fic where Reader is a mermaid captured by Shigaraki, a pirate captain. This one was a lot of fun and was inspired by a lot of fantasies I had as a little girl (minus the smutty parts). I used to dream of being a mermaid and being “caught” by a handsome human man. Then we’d fall in love. That’s about as far as my childish mind took it, but as an adult I could add all sorts of fun lol.
Tagging anyone who wants to do this!

hey!! that potential f/o thing you're having right now is a really creative idea!!
so, who would you date from Doki Doki Literature Club? and what about Boku no Hero Academia? (idk if I'm supposed to send more than 1 fandom but here it is)
I hope your day is going well!!
Thank you!!!! More than one is awesome ^-^
Send me a fandom and I'll tell you who I'd ship myself with!
Doki Doki Literature Club and Boku No Hero Academia, huh? Click the 'keep reading' to see who I'd ship with!!! (content warnings for images of knives, blood, and discussion of murder: bnha villain s/i go brrrr)
From Doki Doki, it's definitely Yuri! I love the other three with all my heart, but Yuri is the one that I always want to spend more time with.
Tumblr media
I think we'd be a bit light academia/dark academia together, with me bringing the outdoors sunny reading and Wordsworth, and Yuri brining the turtlenecks and teacups and sitting on window seats. But at the same time, my s/i absolutely collects bones and skulls, so they're not all sunshine!
My s/i would join the literature club and be so excited! I get along with everyone: my bubbliness matches Sayaka's, and we find ourselves gushing about everything! I have a weakness for slice-of-life manga, so Natsuki and I get along like a house on fire once she starts giving me recommendations. And of course, Monika is happy to have such an enthusiastic new member!
Yuri sees me getting along with everyone else and draws back: she's doubtful about her place in the group with me there, she's intimidated by the way I get so shamelessly excited about everything. I notice that Yuri is withdrawing and make more of an effort to get to know her: I learn that we share a lot of the same preferences in poetry, that we both like to analyze what we're reading. I make her feel more comfortable getting loud about things, and I'm just starstruck by her style and her writing and her thoughtfulness.
I love her so much and I want to share books with her forever <3
--
Turning to My Hero Academia, I've already got two self-inserts: one high school teacher who dates Toshinori, one quirkless magazine writer who swoops Shigaraki away from the world of All For One.
Time to introduce my third self-insert, who's actually a part of the League of Villains!
Their Quirk is called 'Cat's Paw,' which is a shapeshifter Quirk that essentially allows them to shift between cat and human at will. They've only got one cat form, a black and white domestic short-haired cat, but it's handy for sneaking into buildings.
They were living on the streets in cat form for two years before they were found by the League of Villains and adopted into the group. They fall in love with all of them, but more than anyone else, they have a close bond with Himiko Toga.
Tumblr media
They are Besties Forever and they have So Much Fun!!! They go shopping and they go dancing and they eat cupcakes and they have sleepovers and pillow fights and makeout sessions and they love each other!!!!
They do each other's hair and makeup and nails and they leave bite marks all over each other's arms when they wrestle.
They go out and murder creepy men who try and follow them into dark alleys, they stay home and make pancakes with the rest of the League, they have romcom movie nights and steal the other League members' clothes because they're comfy.
Basically, they're the epitome of Girls Just Want To Have Fun (and do murder)

Where the loss of ignorance is more valuable than the knowledge gained, and Edward figures out the source of alchemy a lot sooner than before.
"Edward has cockroaches under his skin and leeches in his veins. He's vibrating and bursting and his body is too small, too big, doesn't fit quite right. He needs Al to know - needs to tell someone, anyone, but he will cut out his own tongue before he burdens anyone else with this knowledge."

The Golden Automaton [Podfic]  - Written by teaspoonnebula

about 40 min so far
Rumours about the work of a reclusive alchemist bring the Elric Brothers to a remote castle. Soon they're faced with disturbing questions which threaten to damage their relationship forever.
What happened to the previous Count of Creuzberg? Who is the mysterious silver girl who lurks in the catacombs? And is the soul bound to a suit of armour actually Alphonse Elric or… something else?
(My take on an 'Alphonse identity crisis' story, in a spooky gothic horror mystery setting! Now a podfic, with SOUNDSCAPES and MUSIC!)

The Butterfly Dream [THE PODFIC!]  - Written by teaspoonnebula
read by teaspoonnebula
about 3 hours and 40 min
Everyone knows that Edward Elric died. He died a long time ago. In Xing, he's a footnote in the career of his surviving brother, Alphonse Elric, the Great Alchemist of the West. When someone decides that the Fullmetal Alchemist needs to return to the land of the living, it's up to Alphonse to deal with the soulless facsimile of his brother which is created.
Technically set post 2003 anime, but with a lot of love for and some borrowed characters/concepts from Brotherhood/the manga.
Now a PODFIC with SOUNDSCAPES and MUSIC!

Havoc's first encounter with the little Elrics. Havoc had been looking forward to meeting the Elric brothers, but he’d been looking forward to it while thinking he’d have the whole office as a buffer. He hadn’t thought he’d have them all to himself in a car for half an hour in traffic. He wasn’t sure how he felt about that. Overjoyed was not the word.

[podfic] the cute guy next door (might be a villain) - written by Alesyira
read by Alesyira
will be about 8 to 10 hours when completed
Quirkless, young adult Midoriya Izuku has a problem. Namely, he has a crush on his purple haired, tired-looking neighbor. They keep running into each other and the guy is actually pretty nice under that deadpan facade, has a sense of humor, doesn't seem to judge anyone for their quirk status, and is constantly spoiling any cat in the building that finds him. (He's also a shameless flirt.)
But Izuku has concerns. About the strange bruises and bloodied knuckles. About the weapons he's seen when stopping by for a cup of sugar. About the shady-looking figures he's accidentally spotted his neighbor meeting with. About the fact that right after the news reported a big crime bust, his neighbor came home beat all to hell and looking haunted.
Izuku has a problem. Namely, he has a crush on his neighbor, who he's pretty sure is secretly a villain. And he has no idea what to do with that.
(or: Adult!ShinZuku AU where Shinsou is an underground, undercover pro hero trying to find a lead on a case that may or may not involve the socially awkward guy living next door. Misunderstandings abound.)

Paradise [Podfic] -  written by  Encyclopika

In the crystal clear waters of the South Pacific lies a spit of sand, rock, and palm trees nestled between a rainbow of coral reefs. Some may call this paradise, but Ochako calls it a life-saver. Ever since she was separated from her pod and marooned here during a deadly cyclone, she has made the most of it – alone. The surrounding corals are teaming with tasty food items and the sheltered lagoon has become her home base. When another storm hits, Ochako is better prepared, but she can't say the same for everyone. The following morning, Ochako finds debris washed up on her shores...as well as a human! Ochako knows to keep her distance – humans have been unkind to merfolk throughout history, or so she had been told by the elders in her pod. But this one seems...harmless? He's definitely alone and definitely unsure of himself as he wanders the tide like a new born babe, confused and in need of some guidance. Ochako decides she will be that guidance from a distance. After all, if she keeps herself hidden in the waves, then nothing can go wrong...right?

“You scored very highly—” “As fuckin’ usual.” “—but your interpersonal skills are still unbelievably low. If you are going to be a pro hero you need to be capable of working on a team—sometimes even one composed of people you don’t like.” Aizawa seemed to have roused himself from the edge of sleep long enough to impart this wisdom to Blasty. “Whatever. Just tell me what I’m doing.” Bakugou didn’t seem very moved. Mina thought one might need a backhoe to achieve such a thing. Aizawa zipped himself up in his sleeping bag. “Go around the classroom and give everyone an honest compliment.”

“It was a kid,” Yagi gasped out. He had his hand balled up into a fist and the fist pressed to his lips, as if to remind himself that he could not start screaming. “Or. Young person, maybe 20. Homeless, I think. Activated their Quirk on reflex and then ran. The kids—” Here, he pressed his fist harder to his mouth, sucked in a wheezing breath, as if the air itself was pushing down something with physical weight. “The kids—”
“Scattered immediately,” Aizawa finished for him, and Yagi managed a nod.
Yagi’s eyes were so dilated that the blue was almost invisible. He shook violently. He looked like a scarecrow in a windstorm.
Someone activated a Fear-Inducer Quirk so powerful that it reduced All Might to this— of course Aizawa’s class had bolted.

My hobbies are : drawing, reading, pet my cats, studying, working out, playing basketball, singing, dancing, playing on my guitar and piano and knitting.
I love libraries and cafe places.
I draw every day. It's my biggest passion. I love when my guy best friend will come over and we just dance and have fun. He is one of the people that can bring me from my shell.
When you see me for the first time, only one single thought will come through your head : art hoe. Yep, that's me. You always see me with a oencil in my head and with ideas and my sketch book or just reading my fav books.
I'm a couch potato. I have a little couch in my bedroom.
My style: I love to wear Dark clothes, chokers. I wear a lot of rings but my fav and precious one is from my mom : a single heart. So cute 🥺🥺❤️. I wear it always. 24/7. I love to wear my hair up in a bun on top of my head with my headband.
I love to sing in night clubs. I play basketball and ping Pong
I'm allergic to strawberries and sunlight. I can go out during the day but I need to be in shadow. It's not a fun, especially when my head will start to spin. But I can manage just for school. I love rainy days. I have white skin and fangs. People are calling me freak. Damn.

That's All. Thank you so much for doing this for me. I'm really grateful for that. See ya ❤️. Have a good day or night!!
i am in between Mina and bakugou
but i chose bakugou for you!
Like most people he did not like you, at all at first
Since to him everyone is an extra bellow him
And then one day after a training session he saw you in a park sketching a lovely photo of scenery, almost exactly like the one in front of you.
He couldn't help himself but to sit down right next to you and no matter your protest and blushing face sat next to you, avoiding your comebacks with a simple “keep drawing.”
As cool as your art skills were, he was far more impressed after seeing you were a vampire  and seeing the power it left you in during training.
For someone so introverted and shy you did fight well against mina.
One day he heard your training playlist and he found himself humming along to it.
Because he liked the same one too, and it was he favorit.
When moving into the dorms and touring them, he got a whiff of that chocolate peanut butter cake you were baking and man was using all his self restraint not to beg for some.
Cause it smelled really good
Like REALLY good
Dude was salivating, he felt like he had never ate cake before
He lost all control and stormed up to you with a glare, not looking you in the eye,and asked for a piece.
He liked you more after you let him eat the rest of it(dude fucking demolished that thing im not kidding)
Sooner or later, you started to hang out with the brute
And turns out, he's less of a brute and kinda a softy
But little did you know it was only for you did he act this way
Only you gotta eat half his lunch, or talk about feelings, or how he wanted to be the best of the best
And he loved to talk to you about all your likes!
art , movies, anything
He liked it when you stand up for yourself, your one hundred present the biggest badass there(aside from him because that's how he works)
A relationship with this man would include an ungodly amount of making out and even worse he loves to give you cuddles often:)
This man will treat your RIGHT
Flowers on dates, pull out the chair, and open the car door( this don't mean he would go easy on you in training :,))
He legit brings you to meet his family, and his mom loves you more than he does at this point.
She keeps asking”when will she be my daughter in law?” or “ when's the wedding, i won't be around for another hundred years young man.”

just start watching a new anime season at 1 am knowless, that's a normal person thing to do. (bnha s5e1-e6)
(recap, prominence burn) yeah that's gonna do the ole ozone a frighten. I think exxon-mobil is jealous -- oh yeah I forgot mineta was in this show. that was nice while it lasted.
"emergency drill, hypothetical villains have infiltrated ua grounds" hypothetical villains you say? they let gentle thief out of jail that early?
"About 80% of the human population -" have taken and failed the hero course and become shitty villains about it, yes, we know
ooh, new opening… I think? or maybe it's just been that long. -- shinso! it's shinso the homestuck! yo, it's all of class B! there's the dark souls helmet person, and the geico caveman, and the goomba girl (who apparently does have mushroom powers, judging from the outfit)! -- does shinso have attack ribbons like Eraser Head now? huh
(character intros) didn't realize heroes needed a special adjective in addition to their hero name
part of yaoyorozu's costume includes a book? an encyclopedia of some kind, I guess. in case she has to do physics-y problem-solving stuff on the job and create complex rigs. neat.
aoyama definitely doesn't have the kneepad lasers and stuff he did in the movie. maybe he gets 'em this season? maybe I or whatever site I got the watch order from was completely wrong about when to watch it? who knows
oh shit it's 2-D, y'all are fucked
just realized, I don't think we know what Hado's quirk is. (eh, more likely I just forgot)
pffft bakugo still couldn't figure out a name 'XD "if you won't let me call myself God Explosion Murder I will turn to face god and walk backwards into hell" -- welp, amajiki's dead. gorillaz needs a new lead -- wait did bakugo actually just kill him
(fucking marvel after credits scene) "that's the same pose all might did, isn't it" "no, I used my left arm, it's different" frowny man in a nutshell I guess -- also dancing boy's here, how about that
"episode 2: vestiges" after code vein that word is never not gonna make me think of spiky red crystals that put you in long-winded it's-a-small-world-ass memory lane dealies. so annoying they made you walk through them when they could just be cutscenes. at least when fallout 4 did the same exact thing, you could activate specific things in the scenes for additional lore.
"I heard you killed Snatch" I don't remember him either, but with a hero name like that, I could miss him more
"that's a bad scar." …ohhhhhhh shiiiiit 'XDDD damn, last time I remember this "oh-shit-somebody-just-waved-the-flag-at-the-bull" feeling was reading that one bit in, uhhhhhhhh I think it was the second Inheritance Trilogy book. …I don't interact with stories that do that very often okay, most stories that do that are probably too traumatic for my tastes
oh yeah, the thing with the Avatar spirits. the Allvatar spirits. -- (all for one showing off) "this one longing to be thinner, this one wants to get the girl and I help them! yes I do" -- "vestiges of the previous owners" wait so this is literally like the vestiges from code vein then
…I thought shinso was in class B? eh, idfk
…lolwtf it's capture the flag but the flags are the players, this is wild
oh so asui can turn invisible now. she just… can do that. fancy.
k so shiozaki is poison ivy. I remember her vs kaminari being funny, but I forget why. could be she used feminine wiles, he doesn't make that hard to do -- is shiozaki's hero costume white robes because something something crown of thorns something something jesus, or am I reading too much into it
…bahahahahaha 'XD THAT's how shinso's quirk works! I forgot! they just gave him a voice changer!
"you used me as a decoy… what a sinful act" okay I was right about the jesus thing then. "now I must whip you" o-kay, potential weewoo tier then
(flashback to like the first ua invasion) …huh. froppy mentioned the toxic mucus thing way back then. also they are 100% gonna make her use that stomach thing someday and everybody is going to regret it
come to think of it, eraser head mentoring shinso does make a lot of sense. both of them have quirks whose only application involves taking agency away from other people, so there would've been an assumption that they must either be a hero or a villain. both chose hero, but still can't escape the correlation and the fear that other people would have of them.
ditto's costume (a fancy suit, it looks like) is pretty stupid for a guy who might have to accommodate for who knows what kind of new quirk on the fly. what if he needs to be able to grow wings or other limbs? what if he has to create materials out from his skin? he needs a teenage-sized version of Jack-Jack's onesie. "I didn't know the baby's powers, so I covered the basics."
okay so tokoyami and this kuroiro guy is a ship that just builds itself, huh -- (dark shadow's glitching out) "what is it? what's going on?" disagreeing with something he ate -- aw, kuroiro doesn't have a hero name yet… come to that, I forget what tokoyami's is
(flashback) "if you're not even letting me do anything, why did you pick me?" "we're birds of a feather." okay no yeah this hawks guy sucks
(tokoyami flying) deku: "it's as simple as columbus's egg idea!" columbus had an idea? wonder who he stole that from. … "an apocryphal story in which columbus, on being told that finding a new trade route was inevitable and no great accomplishment, challenged his critics to make an egg stand on its tip. columbus did it himself by tapping the egg on the table to flatten the tip." so, allegedly, columbus cheated in order to justify talking his stupid ass up. also the story's a ripoff of an earlier story about an architect, so that answers my follow-up question.
…and do these mushrooms, like, do anything? granted, they foil hagukure's invisibility and that's pretty neat, and I guess they give cover for kuroiro, but unless they also do cool weird shit they seem more like a nuisance to clean up after than anything else.
and how did they even find out kuroiro can control dark shadow without meeting tokoyami?
aoyama's hero name sucks
the mushrooms really don't do anything then. they aren't poisonous, they don't, idk, mind-control people or sap energy, they can't even grow really big…
kunikida wishes he had yaoyorozu's brains
"hey DM, I can cast Create Mushrooms targeting the space inside his lungs, right?" ah k so they do do anything at all
wait damn that was six episodes? uh, yeah, guess I'd better give it a rest

*If you would like me to tag a specific trigger so you can block it, you can send me a message and I will do my best to add them when I post (please check the list of existing content warnings tags in the "mental health" section of the tag index below before messaging me)

if your still doing Au request and you know this series. A Ranma 1/2 au?
YOU HAVE UNLOCKED A RARE DIALOGUE TREE!!! YES, I know Ranma 1/2 it was the first anime I truly fell in love with. I've read every manga, and seen every episode (even the ova's!!!)
It is in my opinion the perfect action(fighting)/comedy. And honestly I rewatched it recently and thought to myself that the transformations/curses in the show could definitely fit in as quirks in bnha!
this would definitely be more of a comedy than canon bnha is so just keep that in mind
- lzuku's quirk comes in one day on time for a child of his age, there was nothing noteworthy about it other than what the quirk was.
- Izuku had come back home after preschool with no changes quirk wise, him and Inko had dinner together and his mother runs him a bath.
- she leaves to do the dishes and let's him play for a while, a half and hour later she goes to check on her son and and finds not her son sitting in the tub but a little girl!
- turns out Izuku's quirk let's him change swap gender through contact of water of different temperatures. Hot water equals boy, cold water equals girl.
- at first Inko worries about his quirk but Izuku doesn't find an issue with it he still feels like Izuku, but Inko more so worries about what the other kids would say.
- so after alot of thought Inko plans to have Izuku homeschooled or do school online. And it works out wonderfully!(thanks to the money Hisashi sends her and his recommendation for the best tutors)
- Izuku is more worried about his quirk not being good for heroics until it hits him! Undercover work and infiltration!
- he can use his quirk to disguise himself as someone else and be unassuming, like an actor! Or an underground hero from in all those movies! It'd be easy to separate his two forms since only his mom and presumably his dad know his quirk.
- so Izuku agrees to being homeschooled as long as he can take whatever classes/hobbies he wants outside of the house. martial arts, fighting, acting etcetera.
- over the next ten ish years Izuku becomes a master of multiple forms of martial arts, karate, weapons and parkour. As well as improv, acting, dance, and of course cosplay/costume design/fashion (he has to make his characters believable)
- when out and about Izuku is every careful about not transforming and carrots a bunch of stuff to prevent it from happening just in case(for comedic effect) and things to help him change back just in case too! (Like imagine him carrying a Mary Poppins esc bag)
- when he feels ready and talks through his plans with Inko to apply to UA which she agrees to and states how proud she is!
- Izuku fails save Ochako during the entrance exam and makes it into gen Ed instead.
(From there it's a bunch of hijinks and too many love triangle just like in Ranma 1/2! Also Fem!Izuku has white hair instead of green, like how Ranma has black hair but Fem!Ranma has red. Izuku is also rather gender fluid in this au(like hair and dress wise, could go either way) and really doesn't have a preference on pronouns and answer to any no matter what gender he is currently displaying)
- Him and Hitoshi become fast friends and finds out about Izuku's quirk by accident and promises to keep it a secret. He also helps Izuku with his mischief.
- said love triangles(?) I have so far include:
Ochako crushing on the boy who tried to save her.(Izuku)
Monoma falling for the girl who complimented his quirk and said he'd make a wonderful hero.(Fem!Izuku)
Todoroki slowly falling for the boy who helped him with his quirk during the sports festival (Izuku (endgame ship)) and then trying to connect the dots between Izuku and the white haired girl!

BNHA 337 - Thoughts
OK, so this chapter is actually more decent than it seemed from the leaks.
We start with Dabi still pouting that AFO called him “friendless”,
Tumblr media
but AFO is undaunted and talks about how disposable Aoyama is, while comparing him to a cheap, broken lighter. Ouch. That’s vicious - both using that analogy in front of Dabi and the how it pans over to Shigaraki writhing in pain - it’s chilling honestly.
Tumblr media
Then we go back to the Forest, where Aoyama and Deku are still crying, and the parents try to run away (Also, we get the clarification that it wasn’t even Aoyama who wanted a quirk, but the rich asshole Aoyama parents thought they could buy an “upgrade” for their kid to make him less different, and honestly, fuck them!!!! Hereby they get a nomination to worst parents of BNHA contest. It’s a stacked field.)
Aoyama gets desperate and talks about how Deku was quirkless too (wait, I think Deku didn’t overhear that part before, so this is like a lightbulb moment) - but then before we could see his reaction, also Danger Sense goes off (and the panelling here is really cool)
Tumblr media
Hagakure gets her moment to shine - literally as she throws herself in between the boys because she can reflect light, so actually, Aoyama and Deku don’t have to try to hurt each other. She gets a face and full-body reveal as a present.
Tumblr media
Pan over to the school - and the adults are there, Nezu, All Might, Present Mic, Tsukauchi (who gets hotter with every passing day of post-war sleeplessness). So Aoyama apparently isn’t about to explode like Nagant, yadi-yada-yada.
The highlight of this chapter is Class A’s and All Might’s reaction.
Tumblr media
They are so devastated. Todoroki and Kaminari are like, hell, we are going nowhere. Mina is looking like a nervous wreck again. That girl is so broken - Hori, give her some focus please. (Remember when she taught Aoyama to dance??)  Ojirou for once is asking the clever questions and Kirishima is still in the Denial stage of grief.
Kacchan remains calm (I knew it!) and he also remind us that “hey, Deku and Aoyama are narrative foils if you haven’t noticed this from all the previous panels”. Thanks Kacchan!
Aoyama papa explains that they were the ones receiving the orders and Aoyama didn’t actually know that much, and AFO was gonna kill them and Aoyama is just like - I am a total villain. The evilest of evil.
[It’s a bit hamfisted, we get it:
he had no choice ✔ ,
he was dragged into this against his will ✔
he’s trying to protect his parents  ✔
 he feels deep remorse ✔
All boxes checked. Villain saving can be activated.]
Deku then steps up and reminds Aoyama that he did try to save Kacchan and Tokoyami in the forest (demonstrated his goodness?✔ ) and wrote an entire SOS in cheese (wants to be saved ✔ ). He even finds an angle to blame himself for not understanding Aoyama’s message.
Tumblr media
The part I don’t like is the totally not parallel case of Nagant (who knew exactly who AFO was, and willingly took a quirk from him and all her past sins of you know being a black ops assassin) is held up as a positive example. It’s forced. It’s unnecessary.
Anyways, Deku extends a hand to a tied-down Aoyama [ Will he take it, I wonder?]  (muhaha) -  and Kacchan is already thinking how it can be used to their advantage!
Tumblr media
Also bonus point for him thinking of Deku as “Deku”.
Looks like UA Traitor is being resolved in the next chapter and it will also give them an opportunity to try to set a trap for AFO. We’ll also see if AFO is an evil mastermind or a big idiot who never thought about the possibility of being double-crossed.

By the time you were 12, you knew exactly what men liked.
(‼️📍18+/MDNI — content/trigger warnings for: dark/problematic content, male gaze & objectification, sex work, implied violence against women/murder, murder in general lol, vague smut but it’s not with anyone we actually like (tho we do imagine a few faves), smoking. This is set in the BNHA world, and while I’d tentatively say there’s some vague Bakugou x Reader elements, they are very much not the focus.)
Your mother’s the one that teaches you, unwittingly. In the early evenings she’d get ready for work, down at the club: you’d sit as quietly as a mouse on her bed, watching her as she sat at her vanity, running her hands through freshly curled hair. Your mother was beautiful, and knew how to enhance it: with eyelash curlers and creamy blush and eyeliner to darken her eyes, widen them.
She kept her makeup carefully organised and after she’d leave you for the night, you’d go and sit in her place and stare at your reflection, trying to map your mother in your own features. You’d use her eye-lash curler, her blush. The expensive eyeliner that she’d later yell at you for wasting. Try and tousle your hair like she had—wild and windswept, like you’d walked a long way just to see someone special. You’d dab at your lips like she did, with pottles of lipstick that darkened your mouth, made it flush and shiny. Her perfume would sit pride and centre of her collection—a squat little bottle with a golden top, pale pink liquid inside that smelt like pressed roses. You’d spray it liberally around you, on you, and later get yelled for that too—but in the moment afterwards you’d stare at your reflection and see the glimmer of someone you could grow into, if you tended to her. The kind of woman who’d grow up and wear satin dresses that were cut to show the swell of her breasts—the kind of woman who could pull out a packet of cigarettes, and have someone else light them for her. The kind of woman who could shift in her seat and let her dress ride up, just a fraction—showing off smooth thigh, not minding the lingering gaze of whatever man was sitting next her.
That was the kind of woman your mother was; what she delighted in being. You’d watch it all, when you were younger—bundled up and taken to the club some nights when she couldn’t trust you alone, hidden away in the dressing rooms or otherwise behind the bar, set up with your picture books, your games. If the other girls had free time they’d play with you—treating you like a little pet or a doll, easily amused by the placid, trusting way you’d let them dress you up or otherwise pass you around.
Your favourite was Himiko. She would play music for you, in the dressing room: songs from her mother’s day, songs she’d dance around to with you, the pair of you swinging around wildly. She was the one who would teach you the patience for neatly cutting out pictures from magazines, photocopies from encyclopaedias, figures from the polaroids she’d let you take. Together you’d decorate her makeup table with starlets, pop singers, dogs running free, flowers; paste cherubs and roses on her cigarettes, a pink packet she swore smelt like peaches but just stank, to you. Your school books. Valentines Day cards for your mother and the other girls, the bartender who’d give you glasses filled with lemonade and glazed cherries and little umbrellas that you faithfully kept, lining them up according to colour.
Himiko brings you a tin box, one day, for your little treasures—your umbrellas. Together you decorated it with cut-outs of smiling, gentle fairies and frogs with golden crowns, shinning stars cut out from the foil of Himiko’s cigarette packets or the chocolate bars the other girls would slip you.
“You’re a good kid, Baby,” Himiko would tell you afterwards, watching you arrange your little paper umbrellas just so. Sitting with you on the floor, you could not have loved anyone better, you thought: Himiko in dark lace and shinning ribbons, a small, sheer skirt. She smelt sweet—not like your mother’s roses but something gentler, more sugary. It was her eyes, though—you’ll never forget her eyes that night. Big and dark and sad and smeared with golden glitter. She was beautiful too—in a different way to your mother, in a softer way, the kind of person who’d lean forward and laugh at someone’s joke, who’d shift shyly at their sudden attention. Who would cup someone’s hand when their own slid to her knee, or higher. Demure, you’d realise later, as an adult. She was someone demure, different from your mother’s silky directness. Through them both, your mother and Himiko, you learnt what men liked: power. Power over things they thought were beautiful. Power over things they liked to think they owned.
A week after bringing you your treasure box, Himiko goes missing. The man who sat with her the most—a tall salaryman, with round glasses who brought her presents every time—never comes back, and Himiko is eventually replaced by a younger girl. A meaner girl who demands that Himiko’s beautifully collaged table get replaced.
“Look at this rubbish,” she complains to one of the other girls, who glances to you apologetically. “It’s stupid and tacky. How was it even allowed?”
“You’re stupid!” You’d burst out, unable to help it. “And a ratty bitch!” One of the others quickly ushers you away as the new girl glared daggers at you—with her little, beady rat face but you had the vindication of being right, even if your mother would yell at you, again, for it later.
Management got rid of Himiko’s carefully decorated table—the starlets and pop-singers, the dogs running free, the flowers, all left to sit under the city snow on the curbside.
You told your mother you didn’t want to go with her to work, anymore: that you were old enough to stay home by yourself.
You were 12 by then. It was a relief to both of you.
By the time you’re an adult you’re no longer talking to your mother, though just like a prophecy made on a mountain you have indeed grown into her face, her habits. You wear the same kind of inviting dresses and tousle your hair and smile at men when they press in closer, letting them run their grubby hands up your bared thighs. But you keep tiny parts of Himiko, too—engrained in the fabric of your being, now. Playing her songs as you get ready, dancing around your room, loose-limbed. Dabbing glitter over your eyelids, the way she’d do hers. Pasting cherubs with rosy-buttocks and vintage illustrations of kittens onto packets of cigarettes you’d buy from the vending machine at work.
“Cute,” men would say, dryly, whenever you’d pull them out. “You’re real cute.”
You’d smile easily and lean in—aware of their eyes lingering on the curve of your neck, the swell of your breasts. “Light one for me?” You’d ask, willing yourself to go soft-eyed, to give them the power, even over this tiny thing, that you knew would go straight to their dicks.
It was easy. You were good at it, at charming them into your room and stripping them down, washing them. You could do sexy; breathing in just a little too hard when they touch you for the first time. Making the right kind of noises, the ones that suggested you’d never felt this way before, hadn’t imagined it with anyone else but them and their rough, stupid hands. Serving them that power they all thought was their right, while you rode them into the satin sheets and imagined your favourite Pro Heroes underneath you instead, fingers digging into the flesh of your ass. Random pop stars—something, anything, anyone—more interesting.
Life goes on like this. You and your mother ignore each other and you make friends with the other girls that work at the same club as you and you walk back home in the early morning, stopping at the konbini to buy coffee or instant noodles or wrapped kimbap. Sometimes you’ll buy a magazine—Vogue, with flawless models holding designer handbags, on white-sand beaches. Tabloid rags screaming DEKU TURNING TO THE DARK SIDE? with a blurry photo of the hero in the corner. You cut out your favourite photos of him, of Dynamight and Shouto and collage them onto your smokes with some flowers and gold foil stars, smiling the next time you pull them out for a client.
“You into heroes?” He asks, quiet. He’s older but wears it well—tall, hair silver at the sides and matching the silver frames of his round glasses. He dresses neatly, in clean, neatly pressed suits—a salaryman you guess, though he never wants to talk about work.
“Mm,” you agree. “I think they’re brave.”
You shift in closer and smile when his eyes behind those glasses flicker over you. “Light me?”
You imagine you’re with Pro Hero Shouto that night, half a world away in your mind as he traces his long fingers over your skin.
Mr. M, as you come to call him, becomes a regular. You see him once a week—he always brings you a present. A jar of tiny seashells. Sheets of music for an instrument you lied about learning to play. Gift boxes of tiny cookies from his travels—and lingerie. You learn he has expectations when it comes to his tastes, when it comes to how he wants to experience his power with you.
You wear the lingerie; wine-red lace and matching ribbons. White silk slips, long and deceptively demure. Silk stockings you roll up your legs. Thongs made out of pearls that you have to make sure glisten before you’re allowed to take them off. Mr. M watches you in all of these gifts—silent as you pretend every session gives you some new sensation. He likes to hold your hands above your head—pinning them to the pillows as he ruts into you, your breasts spilling out of whatever lace, whatever silk you’re wrapped in that night. His panting over your face is hot and you close your eyes and pretend it’s some oiled-up Pro from the latest issue of Hero Days—Dynamight, maybe. Someone with a strong grip, who looks like they might run hot, be slick to touch, like how your legs slip against Mr. M’s back as you meet his thrusts.
He’s not a talker, dirty or otherwise. But one night you’re together and you’re trying not to moan—a deliberate move, your mind a thousand miles ahead—when he nuzzles near your ear, and breathes out, “Himiko,”
You think he takes your answering gasp as an indication of his performance—not the shock at hearing that name. He continues on moving, seemingly unaware of his faux-pas as he huffs against your shoulder and you barely even feel it when it comes, staring at the ceiling.
Himiko, he’d said. Himiko.
Your throat burns. Himiko, you repeat to yourself. Himiko.
If your mother’s surprised when you call, she doesn’t sound it.
“Himiko?” She repeats, when you ask. “I mean, no one knew what happened to her, kiddo. That was the whole point.”
“There must’ve been something,” you argue back, pacing around your living room.
You can hear it when your mother shrugs. “Baby like it or not, it’s a hazard of the trade. Himiko had a few regulars that would’ve known their way around hurtin’ someone—maybe she just rejected the wrong person at the wrong time.”
You make an impatient noise, and sink down into your couch. “There must’ve been a suspect, at least—”
On the other side of the phone your mother sighs, annoyed and you think, angrily, that she’s going to tell you to drop it, but then your mother surprises you by saying, “We all thought Maruya-san might’ve… done something. The girls and me. He was pretty… intense about her. I think he liked that doe-eyed fantasy.”
Your skin is cold and you are thinking of Himiko’s eyes, the night she gave you your tin box—large and dark and sad. “Maruya-san?” You ask.
Humming, your mother adds, “yeah, lanky bastard. I don’t know if you’d remember him, he was there enough times when you were. Tall guy, with these poxy little glasses—he used to make Himiko wear these sets he’d buy her—”
Maruya-san. You stare at your TV, blank now—and barely hear a word your mother is saying.
You make sure you do your research.
You look up articles, dated to Himiko’s disappearance—a couple of men were questioned, you learn, but the leads never went anywhere. Maruya-san doesn’t appear in any of them but you do some cross-referencing on some social sites, work related ones. There’s a lot of Maruya-sans in the country even when you narrow down the age and it takes you questioning your mother a few more times before you have enough information to guess which one he might be.
Your salaryman pops up, his picture younger than the man you know, now, but undeniably still the same. Between that, the stories you now have from your mother and the way he had whispered Himiko that night—you’re sure. You think you know.
Some tiny part of you begs you to weigh your options first—but what options are there? The police packed away Himiko as quickly as they could. Could you tell a Pro Hero? Run to whatever one you find on patrol and spill out the whole story? What a stupid thought. No, it had to be you.
The afternoon of your last session with Mr. M you sit on your bedroom floor, playing one of your records—one of Himiko’s songs crooning along—as you open your old, precious tin. Your paper umbrellas are still in there, along with some polaroids the other girls managed to save for you, when the club dumped Himiko’s things. She’s smiling in one of them, beaming up at whoever’s taking the photo—younger than you, now, you realise. You flip through the stack, most of them of girls you barely remember, one of them of your mother—and one of you, eyes closed as you grin, a gap in your teeth. You look so happy, you think, your eyes watering. You don’t even remember this being taken and hadn’t realised the gravity of Himiko keeping it, as a child—that she had loved you enough to.
“I’m going to do this for both of us,” you tell the air of your room. The song on your record player hits it’s end, scratchy silence reigning and you dab at your face and move to get ready.
The piece you’re wearing tonight is special—some high-end brand he gave you a while ago, with handmade lace woven into doves, their wings framing your cleavage. You run your hands through your freshly curled hair—smear your makeup on. Spray yourself with your perfume and sit there in silence, in your black satin dress, staring at your reflection.
You have a new packet of cigarettes for tonight. You have them with you when you meet Mr. M at the bar—drinking the cocktail he orders you, smiling at him all the while. When you get him back to the room, you lead him to the bed—letting him run his hands down your back, where the zip for your dress is.
“I wore this especially for you, tonight,” you whisper, and let him peel your dress down—revealing the doves, the curves of you. He thumbs over your breasts, marvelling and you gently push away from him, coy.
“You know what I could use, right now?” You ask him, breathy.
He shakes his head, and you slip away from him to your handbag—pulling out your cigarettes. His face doesn’t change—not at this break in character, though when you move closer and offer the packet to him you get the pleasure of seeing his eyes widen, behind those round glasses.
You smile, and it doesn’t falter when he roars ablaze in front of you.
It’s Dynamight that comes for you, in the end.
Sirens wail in the distance and you watch the dawn—the pink promise of the sky—and think of how much you’ll miss this, how much you miss Himiko.
When you hear the clip of heavy boots against concrete you turn, half-curious—raising your eyebrows when you see Great Explosion Murder Mystery Dynamight himself, glaring at you.
“Hello,” you greet, pleasant. “Don’t worry, I’m not going to make a fuss.”
“Move away from the ledge,” he says, voice rough and a part of you wants to laugh because you can imagine that voice, perfectly, saying obscene things in the dark.
“I’m not afraid of heights,” you tell him, rattling your smokes as you pull them out. You can feel when the Pro behind you tenses at the action but you thumb over Himiko’s picture fondly, surrounded by roses as she is, smiling—and pull out a cigarette.
“Want one?” You ask, politely. Dynamight’s jaw just tightens when you glance to him—he’s a big man, you think to yourself, letting your eyes flicker over the Pro. His arms thick—skin gleaming. The distaste he has for you is all over his face, though you don’t miss how those dark eyes—red now, in the dawn—trace over the wings of your lace doves and down your body.
“Smokin’s disgusting,” he grunts, and you laugh, letting the flames of your Quirk flicker at your fingertips—a makeshift lighter.
“Yeah,” you agree, easily. “I guess it kinda is.”

Ochaco: Your first kiss with Ochaco made you feel weightless. Your head was up in space, and your heart was afloat. The hand splayed across your cheek riveted you in a feeling of tenderness, and your mind was overcast with nerves. The movie played quietly in the back, as it took everything within her to swallow her fears. “Could I… maybe-” However, the touch of your lips to hers cast a sweet glow across her face, sending you straight to heaven and back.
Tsuyu: Kissing Tsuyu for the first time was like dancing in a sunshower. There was a ray of gold that rose in your chest, sending your mind into a state of euphoria. The rain would turn into a drizzle as your skins were soaked in the sun. There would be beauty in the moments leading up to it, and there would be beauty in the moments following. It was sweet, and it was gentle. To you and her, it would feel like a moment built for the hopeless and the romantic. “Nothing could seem to break this moment.”
Mina: Your first kiss with Mina was fervent. Like a lover who doted, she cherished you with unbridled affection. With the course of her love, she made you feel like passion itself. With her hands around your face and a newfound zeal in her smile, it was hard not to laugh at the onslaught of kisses showering your face. With a peck to your lips, she smiled wide “Aren’t you just fun to kiss!”
Momo: A kiss from Momo was poetic. It smelt of roses in an open field or Earl Grey on an early Sunday evening. It sounded like the turn of a page in an old book or the faint whisper of a 19th-century symphony. It was lush, like the feeling of velvet, and it was breathtaking, better than any classical work of art. The brush of her fingers against your hair contained hushed promises of love, quiet assurances of a storybook fairytale. “I would give you the world and more.”
Jirou: Your first kiss with Jirou was melodic, like a ballad sung by the stars. The bass-like beat of your heart spiked into an erratic thump, and your mind rattled to the cadence of your thoughts. The rhythm of her lips felt like a song to your love-struck heart, and you couldn’t help but chase after for more. “I love you. More than you could ever know.”
