Am once again thinking how Isabela’s mother essentially sold her daughter to run off and join the Qun and then, years later, Hawke facing the greatest warrior of the Qun in one on one combat to protect Isabela. ​Wondering how she felt when she realized her friend would rather risk death than let go of her. Am not okay.

Things I think have happened at the Hanged Man that I consider canon

Varric and Hawke have passed out drunk in the same bed and ended up spooning. They now regularly nap pile together

Fenris has carried each member of the party home at least Once. Isabela kept escaping his grasp and staggering towards danger

Merril has won multiple drinking contests. It’s like alcohol doesn’t affect her

Barkspawn regularly wanders over when the Hawke family aren’t home. He is always met with cheers and many pets. He’s like a bodega cat

Carver keeps making up card games, insists they’re real, and therefore wins every time. He’s almost been banned twice and killed seven times doing this. Hawke and Varric back him up for a share of the loot

Anyone else have a favourite character who’s persona that they put on is what the fandom latches onto and the majority of them never look deeper into it?

Even with memes and stuff like yes they would say that but you think that’s because they’re just like that wholeheartedly when I know that’s what they want you to think, we are not the same

This goes for a lot of things like: acting happy go lucky when they’re actually really depressed/lonely or acting extremely flirty/horny because they’re scared of emotional intimacy, repeating things they’ve been told but clearly DON’T FULLY/ACTUALLY BELIEVE if you look at what they do, etc.

But it’s especially painful when a character is made out to be stupid or not as smart or like ‘ha ha a himbo’ when that’s exactly what they want you to think. They’re actually quite intelligent and everyone fell for it

Like I love them but their plan/act was too good the fandom genuinely thinks they’re stupid and I’m there screaming NOOOOOOO

can someone explain me why people treat anders as a villain for blowing up the chantry (even tho he peacefully fought for mage rights for years, led free clinic for poor refugees, helped circle mages to escape) but love and adore isabela who out of selfishness led to WAR with qunari, causing death of (probably) much more people in kirkwall? i love isabela but that's not fair fr

one time in-game my mage hawke froze a guy right next to fenris only for him to turn around and just immediately cleave the poor fuck in half with his axe like a goddamn onion. i practically heard isabela going feral at the sight. even the enemies were impressed. obama was there. it was life-changing.

Thinking of how tragic Hawke's life turned out. First you father and sibling die during the blight and then your other sibling has the potential to die after the deep roads expedition. And either way they're out of your life after that point. Then your mother is murdered and the only family you have left is your sleazy uncle, who hasn't had the best life himself. I think romancing Anders is always the most tragic too. Supporting the templars or supporting the mages, he'll always blow up the chantry. Not to mention that you see him slowly get eaten away by Justice. Do you slay him for it? Do you let him flee never to be seen again? Or do you keep supporting him? Either choice is heartbreaking because he's not the same man from Act 1. He's not even the same man from Awakening anymore, just a shell of his former self. And as always, Hawke has to be the 'Champion.' I can't even imagine what that's like, especially if you have a rivalry with all of the companions because you can't really call them friends at that point. Hawke just ends up alone. Especially if Hawke is left at the fade...
