As a member of Falešné společenstvo I have to thank all the people from Tolkien musical fan group. You can’t even imagine how much this means to me (and I think it’s the same for other members of FS too). I almost cried when you gave us the flowers and the “letter”… Gosh, It’s so beautiful.

This year was especially challenging. Many of us think we were cursed and our journey is painfully similar to Enchanted Isles. Even a few hours before the Tolkiencon premiere there were so many things that went wrong (e.g. broken car and keyboard stand) and I don’t even talk about cast changes because of illnesses…

After all those years I’m a little bit burnt out (even though compared to some other members I don’t even do a quarter of their work) and I was even feeling like quitting. Of course, I didn’t mainly because well… without a very good reason, you can’t quit a few weeks before the premiere. But the other reason was that there are people outside the traditional visitors of Tolkiencon, who enjoy our work on its own, and who even want to travel from other countries just to see us. You guys are one of the few reasons, why I had a will to continue and a will to try to deliver the best possible performance. (Unfortunately, it wasn’t the best performance. Acting and singing in the gym are very hard because of the people who sit a few meters before you and you can look directly to their faces… I really wish you could see our unofficial performance last week. It is always in a little theatre and probably because of that this performance is very often better than the premiere one).

So, thank you so so much again. You are really amazing. And I truly hope our play was worth your journey and you have enjoyed your stay at Tolkiencon and Prague…

Hey, you’re the silm rock opera person, right? Where can I find links to watch them?

i AM (or one of them anyway) and delighted to be known as such :))

this is my rock opera masterlist for now but I'll drop the links here too:

- Finrod rock opera, 2014, my beloved - roughly half the Beren & Lúthien story; captioned. 2022 version, not captioned (yet... i'm working on it...)

- Lay of Leithian rock opera (full Beren & Lúthien story) - there's no full video for free but lyrics and more info are here. also there's going to be another livestream (paid access) on June 25th!! info here

- the Fingon rock opera - repurposes the Finrod rock opera songs but for the first kinslaying through the rescue of Maedhros. uncaptioned (i'm also working on that... in theory)

- finally, not rock operas per se but I have to rec these czech silm musicals - Fëanor & sons (captioned), Beren & Lúthien (not captioned), Children of Húrin (not captioned), fall of Doriath (Czech captions), Aredhel (not captioned)

In response to your question asking about a list of Russian rock opera related tags to block, following are the ones I'm aware of.

lol the rock opera, lay of leithian the rock opera, lay of leithian rock opera, Лэ о Лэйтиан, finrod rock opera, finrod the rock opera, finrod zong, beren and luthien equestrian musical, and Сказание о Берене и Лютиэн.

If you want, here are the tags used to identify the main actors in each: maxim rakovsky, Максим Раковский, mikhail potekhin, Михаил Потехин, vilena sokolova, Вилена Соколова, yaroslav bayarunas, Ярослав Баярунас, andrey birin, pavel dorofeev, emil sales, alexander rychkov, daria burlyukalo, and evgeny egorov.

Finally, I have noticed another Russian rock opera show up with these that isn't a Silm adaptation. The tags for it are the last trial (this one could block some book material, though), the last trial rock opera, and Последнее испытание.

Hi there! I've just answered a similar ask here.

There are lots of links and info in the other post, so here's how to get started!

There are four Russian Silmarillion rock operas:

Finrod Zong

Lay of Leithian

Beren and Lúthien equestrian show

Fingon, the Rock Opera

... and a couple of Czech Silmarillion musicals; links can be found here.

Finrod Zong is easily accessible: you can watch the 2014 staged concert (highly recommended!):
