Hestia sighed as she took a slip of paper that was dangling off the poster at the cafe. Looking for jobs wasn’t easy... and looking for a job when she’d so recently and so publicly been fired from her last one was even worse. But sitting at home would only get her so far, and she really did need to start actively looking if she wanted to get anything any time soon. She was considering taking up the job that Andromeda mentioned at the hospital, if things got desperate enough. Putting the slip of paper into her bag, Hestia got in line to order herself a coffee. It wasn’t an expensive way of treating herself, but it definitely helped her feel a little better nonetheless. “Is it crazy to admit that I don’t even miss my old job that much? I mean, besides the paycheck,” Hestia admitted to the person standing behind her, not even sure who they were. “It was exhausting.”

The Leaky Cauldron Late August, 1979 Open
Blood was pounding in Marlene’s ears, despite the resting state she was in -- well, if you could call lounging across the bar with a nearly empty bottle of firewhiskey resting. She hadn’t meant to go through nearly the entire thing, had been doing a damn good job of getting sober, but it looked like that was all out the fucking window now. It was a reprieve she needed desperately, something that eased the noise in her head, all the voices that screamed rampantly with little cease. They seemed to be growing louder by the minute, no matter how much booze she downed. Maybe she was finally losing her damn mind, and going just as mad as everyone already seemed to think she was.
It was coming up on four months since Dorcas was murdered, an anniversary that Marlene was all too bitterly aware of. The image of the woman being blasted into the air, surrounded by violent green rays of magic before collapsing as if she was nothing was burned into her brain for the rest of time. As if being tortured wasn’t fucking enough. It was all one big joke; Orion was set free in exchange for Dorcas’ life, according to Katrina Parkinson -- and yet the bastard that had spent months torturing Marlene had gotten out, an innocent being brutally killed in the process. “’S not fucking fair.” She snapped, the words biting out louder than she expected them to. The Leaky was practically empty, most of the usual patrons either having retired to their rooms upstairs or having stopped coming in altogether. War was stretching into everyone’s active lives now, impacting more than just the paranoia; Tom would have scolded her like she was an irresponsible child were he to know how much funding she was pouring into keeping the bar open for them. He was the closest thing to a parent she had anymore, she would protect him, protect his livelihood.
Tears stung in her eyes for a moment as she rose the bottle to her lips, taking another long swig. “I loved her and now she’s dead.” They were words she’d been avoiding, not wanting to admit that war had really stolen something from her, someone that had been with her from the age of eleven. “Sometimes I really wish I’d never fuckin’ left Paris.”

August, 1979 Open
Xenophilius stared at the letter in his hands. His father didn’t know he had taken it. Hell, Obadiah didn’t even know Xeno had seen it on their last trip home. But the Ministry seal was cause to draw attention, particularly when his father was acting stressed out and his mother kept worrying her lip. Obadiah wasn’t the friendliest person to have walked God’s green earth, but his mother? Debbie had never rushed him out of the house before. A quick spell had brought the spell into his hand, tucked out of sight by his leather jacket. They didn’t need to know he knew.
But he could see why they hadn’t told him. An official warning from the Ministry about use of magic in front of a muggle. Plenty of phrasing thrown in about ‘strenuous times’ calling for ‘more conscientious behavior and responsible use of magic.’ From the sound of it, it wasn’t the first letter his father had received recently either.
“He’s always use magic around her,” Xeno said, their ringed fingers picking at their lips. “Always. It’s always been in the house. And they’re married for Merlin’s sake. It’s not like she’ll tell anyone. She loves him. She loves both of us. She wouldn’t tell anyone about the wizarding world, not anyone that doesn’t already know. She’s already kept it a secret for more than two decades, even from her own family. Why- Why are they saying this? Why are they doing this now? They can’t just ... dictate who we act in our own homes.”

MBTI CHARACTER SURVEY
                                                     ISTJ
ISTJ Strengths
Honest and Direct – Integrity is the heart of the Logistician personality type. Emotional manipulation, mind games and reassuring lies all run counter to Logisticians’ preference for managing the reality of the situations they encounter with plain and simple honesty.
Strong-willed and Dutiful – Logisticians embody that integrity in their actions too, working hard and staying focused on their goals. Patient and determined, people with the Logistician personality type meet their obligations, period.
Very Responsible – Logisticians’ word is a promise, and a promise means everything. Logisticians would rather run themselves into the ground with extra days and lost sleep than fail to deliver the results they said they would. Loyalty is a strong sentiment for Logistician personalities, and they fulfill their duties to the people and organizations they’ve committed themselves to.
Calm and Practical – None of their promises would mean much if Logisticians lost their tempers and broke down at every sign of hardship – they keep their feet on the ground and make clear, rational decisions. Peoples’ preferences are a factor to consider in this process, and Logisticians work to make the best use of individual qualities, but these decisions are made with effectiveness in mind more so than empathy. The same applies to criticisms, for others and themselves.
Create and Enforce Order – The primary goal of any Logistician is to be effective in what they’ve chosen to do, and they believe that this is accomplished best when everyone involved knows exactly what is going on and why. Unclear guidelines and people who break established rules undermine this effort, and are rarely tolerated by Logisticians. Structure and rules foster dependability; chaos creates unforeseen setbacks and missed deadlines.
Jacks-of-all-trades – Much like Analyst personality types, Logisticians are proud repositories of knowledge, though the emphasis is more on facts and statistics than concepts and underlying principles. This allows Logisticians to apply themselves to a variety of situations, picking up and applying new data and grasping the details of challenging situations as a matter of course.
ISTJ Weaknesses
Stubborn – The facts are the facts, and Logisticians tend to resist any new idea that isn’t supported by them. This factual decision-making process also makes it difficult for people with the Logistician personality type to accept that they were wrong about something – but anyone can miss a detail, even them.
Insensitive – While not intentionally harsh, Logisticians often hurt more sensitive types’ feelings by the simple mantra that honesty is the best policy. Logistician personalities may take emotions into consideration, but really only so far as to determine the most effective way to say what needs to be said.
Always by the Book – Logisticians believe that things work best with clearly defined rules, but this makes them reluctant to bend those rules or try new things, even when the downside is minimal. Truly unstructured environments leave Logisticians all but paralyzed.
Judgmental – Opinions are opinions and facts are facts, and Logisticians are unlikely to respect people who disagree with those facts, or especially those who remain willfully ignorant of them.
Often Unreasonably Blame Themselves – All this can combine to make Logisticians believe they are the only ones who can see projects through reliably. As they load themselves with extra work and responsibilities, turning away good intentions and helpful ideas, Logisticians sooner or later hit a tipping point where they simply can’t deliver. Since they’ve heaped the responsibility on themselves, Logisticians then believe the responsibility for failure is theirs alone to bear.

HOGWARTS EDGAR // SHORT SELF PARA
(a challenge from a while ago I didn't finish until now)
Stars shone brightly in the night sky, the glow from Edgar’s wand strived to imitate them and illuminate the Astronomy Tower enough to see, but not to be seen. He knew that he wasn’t supposed to wander the castle at night, yet his dorm had grown so stifling that Edgar needed desperately to escape. The tower was quieter, with only the stars and himself for company-it was nice. Unfortunately, not quite nice enough to settle his nerves. Exams were swiftly approaching and it seemed like nobody struggled more than the fifth year Hufflepuff. O.W.L.S. had been more than hard enough, despite trying his best to study Edgar had barely passed them; N.E.W.T.S. were proving completely impossible. Exams brought to the surface all of Edgar’s lingering anxieties about being the failure of the Bones family, doomed to disappoint his parents and live forever in his siblings’ shadows. He didn’t mind the notion as much as he probably should have, but it stung nonetheless. It did not help that Edgar had little friends to study with, or that he hated burdening the few he did have with his struggle. No, he preferred to suffer in silence, and suffer he did. It reached a point where he became so hopeless that he often didn’t bother revising, deciding it was better to do badly without wasting his time trying. The feeling of failure was far worse when he put hours upon hours of effort in, only for none of it to pay off.
Sighing bleakly, Edgar set his parchment and quill aside and focused instead on the sky above. He found it entirely ironic that someone who spent so much time staring blankly into space could be failing Astronomy. Failing potions made far more sense; Edgar spent as little of his time as possible in the dungeons. While he revelled in being alone, there was something suffocating about the cold stone walls and low ceilings. He saw himself in the stars, in how startlingly bright they were, in how some of them were dead already yet still shining. None of those thoughts, however, helped him learn anything about the constellations. He knew a few; the names and positions of the infamous Black family immortalised in the sky. That was something he never understood: the last thing Edgar Bones wanted was to live forever.
After a moment, a loud yawn escaped from his lips, stretching through the open air. Edgar grumbled, checking his watch only to find that it was far later than he’d initially expected. The feeling of hopelessness resurfaced morbidly. He had studied for so long and yet knew nothing more than when he started. The only subjects he had even a chance of passing were divination and care of magical creatures. Divination boiled down to mostly storytelling and interpretation-two things he had a knack for-and Edgar liked animals enough that the other class kept him interested. Apparently sketching the creatures led to learning quite a few things about them. It bugged Edgar that most professors did not seem to understand that he wasn’t stupid; he just didn’t learn in the same way as a lot of the other students, their methods wouldn’t work for him. Doing badly in class battered his confidence and, consequently, his motivation. It became a vicious circle. Despite knowing he wasn’t a bad wizard, Hogwarts sometimes made him feel like one.

                                  thor odinson; god of thunder
crt challenge - mcu counterpart
“you understand boy, you are taking on a star? it will kill you.” ❝only if i die.❞ “yes, that’s what killing you means.”
shared tropes/personality traits:
Adorkable: He's painfully sweet, polite, and gallant
Ain't Too Proud to Beg: To stop the Destroyer from causing destruction on Earth and hurting his friends, Thor not only apologizes for any wrongs he's committed but offers his life to Loki. This act of selflessness proves Thor's worthiness of Mjölnir.
Beware the Nice Ones: He's a nice guy, but it's not wise to test his patience or get in his way.
Big Eater: Pretty common among Asgardians, but Thor himself ate an entire plate of food and then asked for more.
Determinator: Thor never gives up and believes that there's a solution for almost everything.
Dork Knight: If you can imagine a golden Labrador in the shape of a thunder god, you've more or less got him down.
Fun Personified: Despite starting off as extremely spoiled and bratty, he's an incredibly friendly guy.
Hot-Blooded: Thor is quite exuberant, wearing all of his emotions on his sleeve; this makes his Heroic B.S.O.D. all the more noticeable, as after everything falls apart for him, he closes up entirely.
Manchild: Even after his character development, Thor is still endearingly naive when it comes to how the rest of the multiverse outside Asgard works, and readily admits to his father that he still has a lot of growing up to do.
Obfuscating Stupidity: Thor is often smarter than he lets on.
Perpetual Smiler: Thor is almost always cheerful, even in the middle of a fight to the death with an army of Frost Giants; at first, this, alongside his vainglorious optimism, is seen by many as a symptom of his childishness. By the end of the movie, he learns to be truly serious about things and becomes more solemn as a result. While he does make jokes from then onward and tends to be sunny and positive (in The Avengers and especially in Thor: Ragnarok), it's not quite with the same flippancy it once was, as he's become a wiser man and knows how to behave in a truly serious situation.
Stepford Smiler: In Infinity War, especially during his talk with Rocket Raccoon, it becomes clear that humour is the only thing keeping him from breaking completely down.
Trauma Conga Line: I mean...
When He Smiles: Although already a boisterous and jovial fella, Thor's face positively glows with an endearing warmth and kindness when he is genuinely happy and at ease.
i know i took the easy way out with the tropes, but honestly just look at how well it relates. i was worried i wasn’t going to be able to find a match, and then it was right in front of my eyes all along! aside from the fact that they are both literal rays of sunshine/golden retrievers, how many times have they been betrayed/lied to? too many! and yet they still believe people are good, they are still kind and good!! plus the rushing into battle head first, i was like yeah benjy is definitely thor. i hope you guys agree!!

  MBTI CHARACTER SURVEY
                                                      ENFP
ENFP Strengths
Curious – When it comes to new ideas, Campaigners aren’t interested in brooding – they want to go out and experience things, and don’t hesitate to step out of their comfort zones to do so. Campaigners are imaginative and open-minded, seeing all things as part of a big, mysterious puzzle called life.
Observant – Campaigners believe that there are no irrelevant actions, that every shift in sentiment, every move and every idea is part of something bigger. To satisfy their curiosity, Campaigners try to notice all of these things, and to never miss a moment.
Energetic and Enthusiastic – As they observe, forming new connections and ideas, Campaigners won’t hold their tongues – they’re excited about their findings, and share them with anyone who’ll listen. This infectious enthusiasm has the dual benefit of giving Campaigners a chance to make more social connections, and of giving them a new source of information and experience, as they fit their new friends’ opinions into their existing ideas.
Excellent Communicators – It’s a good thing that Campaigners have such strong people skills, or they’d never express these ideas. Campaigners enjoy both small talk and deep, meaningful conversations, which are just two sides of the same coin for them, and are adept at steering conversations towards their desired subjects in ways that feel completely natural and unforced.
Know How to Relax – It’s not all “nature of the cosmos” discussions with Campaigners – people with this personality type know that sometimes, nothing is as important as simply having fun and experiencing life’s joys. That Intuitive trait lets Campaigners know that it’s time to shake things up, and these wild bursts of enthusiastic energy can surprise even their closest friends.
Very Popular and Friendly – All this adaptability and spontaneity comes together to form a person who is approachable, interesting and exciting, with a cooperative and altruistic spirit and friendly, empathetic disposition. Campaigners get along with pretty much everyone, and their circles of friends stretch far and wide.
ENFP Weaknesses
Poor Practical Skills – When it comes to conceiving ideas and starting projects, especially involving other people, Campaigners have exceptional talent. Unfortunately their skill with upkeep, administration, and follow-through on those projects struggles. Without more hands-on people to help push day-to-day things along, Campaigners’ ideas are likely to remain just that – ideas.
Find it Difficult to Focus – Campaigners are natural explorers of interpersonal connections and philosophy, but this backfires when what needs to be done is that TPS report sitting right in front of them. It’s hard for Campaigners to maintain interest as tasks drift towards routine, administrative matters, and away from broader concepts.
Overthink Things – Campaigners don’t take things at face value – they look for underlying motives in even the simplest things. It’s not uncommon for Campaigners to lose a bit of sleep asking themselves why someone did what they did, what it might mean, and what to do about it.
Get Stressed Easily – All this overthinking isn’t just for their own benefit – Campaigners, especially Turbulent ones, are very sensitive, and care deeply about others’ feelings. A consequence of their popularity is that others often look to them for guidance and help, which takes time, and it’s easy to see why Campaigners sometimes get overwhelmed, especially when they can’t say yes to every request.
Highly Emotional – While emotional expression is healthy and natural, with Campaigners even viewing it as a core part of their identity, it can come out strongly enough to cause problems for this personality type. Particularly when under stress, criticism or conflict, Campaigners can experience emotional bursts that are counter-productive at best.
Independent to a Fault – Campaigners loathe being micromanaged and restrained by heavy-handed rules – they want to be seen as highly independent masters of their own fates, even possessors of an altruistic wisdom that goes beyond draconian law. The challenge for Campaigners is that they live in a world of checks and balances, a pill they are not happy to swallow.

Marlene McKinnon, Negative Character Traits
Addictive (adjective) - susceptible to becoming addicted;  ‘learn your lines get your story straight, happiness is just a glass away, I’m trouble.’      -->  Voices ran rampant in her at all times, a charming side effect that came from months of Orion Black’s torments. She justified it by telling herself if a few drinks and mindless flings were the worst of the coping mechanisms, she was fine. Of course it came along with the skipping of meals and more than just the odd drink then and again, she wasn’t healthy by any means.
Unstable (adjective) - prone to change, or give way; not stable;  ‘all the voices in my mind calling out across the night, calling out across the line.’      --> No matter how hard she tried, it felt as if she was always standing on shaky ground. It was as if solid land, and a feeling of security, was always out of reach, smoke drifting through outstretched fingers in a way she could never fix. And that was as infuriating as it was terrifying. Genuine connection and love were things Marlene found herself both desperately craving and vehemently pushing away at the same time,. Everything seemed to be an argument running wild inside of her, sometimes at peace but - particularly in moments like these, when she allowed it opportunity - it shook her core to a point that there could be no return from. To fight, or to flee. To be light or dark, productive or a coward. Things were, undoubtedly, never so black and white. But to embrace that meant adding more madness to the voice in her head. She didn’t want to.
Emotional (adjective) - having feelings openly displayed ‘and all the kings horses, and all the kings men, couldn’t put me back together again.’      -->The venomous screaming was encouraged by the shaking, petrifying fear fixating in her core now. It was the right thing to do, coming forward, that she firmly believed. It would be easier to simply phase herself away from Aversio, put her everything into backing the Order without the confessional…but that wasn’t right. Crazy bitch she might be, yes. A disgrace in the eyes of her mother, too. But, at the end of the day, Marlene McKinnon had to hope if nothing else she could stand by her morals in the end. Twisted and convoluted as they had become - as she - had become, she wanted to be brave. Coming forward was brave, it had to be.
Self Destructive (adjective) - destroying and causing harm to oneself;  ‘and all the kids cried out, please stop you’re scaring me, I can’t help this awful energy.’       -->  Months before, she had been fine. Vibrant and angry, but healthy. Her coping mechanisms had never been the best, focusing more on drinking and therefore ranting in an angry, Irish fashion to anyone that would listen about her opinions on the war. She had been angry and determined, not broken and repaired by faulty methods.
