I’m rewatching CR1 ep. 87, and towards the beginning Tary makes a pretty effusive speech about how much he admires Keyleth’s leadership abilities, which reminded me that one of the best things about Tary was he was in awe of Keyleth and her power and leadership, from the moment they met to the moment he left. I’ve always suspected that Sam included this part of Tary’s character as a “fuck you” to the people who would criticise every inch of Keyleth (and Marisha’s) being, and it’s always made me happy to think about the CR family looking out for one another like that. The tongue-in-cheek yet utterly sincere way he played Tary and his admiration for Keyleth was so sweet, and an adorable affirmation of the bond these players have between them <3
