Hi! If it's ok, can I request the FNV companions + Vulpes with a fem courier who is strictly a top and won't accept a submissive role no matter what? I need more top fem courier in my life.
(Also, you can exclude Arcade since he's gay and I respect his sexuality).
FNV Companions (+Vulpes) With a Top F!Courier
➼ Word Count » 0.7k ➼ Warnings » Misogyny, MDNI ➼ Genre » NSFW, Romantic ➼ A/N » UGHH top fems give me life, Nonnie, thank you
Boone loves being with a top in bed and has no problem allowing someone to take control of him during sex. Just as he's not much of a talker, he's also not always much of a dom. So, when he finds someone who can naturally take the lead, he's about ready to fall head over heels for them. Boone considers himself a switch, but he turns to putty whenever he can find a woman willing to take the initiative and boss him around. He has no issue being able to sit back and do as you command and would almost beg you to do so. It just feels natural to him, considering he's a veteran. Taking orders is what's familiar to him, and he has no issue admitting it.
Raul doesn't take you seriously at first. He just chuckles and goes along with what you're doing in more of a joking way, but he very quickly begins to understand that you're being genuine when you continue to order him around. It's a nice change of pace for the ghoul. The other times he's slept with a woman, it's usually him on top, so having this switch in roles is new for him and very welcomed. He follows along with your instructions easily. Whatever you need him to do, wherever you want him to be, he'll obey without much thought at all. In fact, he finds that he likes being with someone a bit more dominant than he is. Mostly because it means he can probably just lay there while you have your way with him (he's old, give him a break).
Cass has mixed feelings on the matter. On the one hand, she loves that she's finally met someone who can match her more firey personality, but on the other, she wants to be the one in charge. You'll have to wrestle with her for a bit before either of you can take on the dominant role for that night. It's a bit hit or miss with her as she can be very determined when it comes to things like this, but if you manage to pin her down hard enough, you should be able to have your way with her. Another thing to note, Cass loves it rough and wouldn't mind if you decided you needed to put her in a couple feet of rope to keep her still. Just a thought.
Veronica doesn't mind. In fact, she kinda likes having a more dominant partner. Being in a submissive role makes her feel more feminine, and if you can get her while she's in a dress, she'll be even more excited and willing to obey. One thing about Veronica is that she's a talker, especially during sex, and she's never against a bit of teasing or gagging to get her to quiet down. In fact, they go a long way when trying to get her off. She's more than willing to be put in her place and would do whatever was commanded of her, especially if you called her pretty while you did so.
Vulpes hates it. He wants to be the one in control, especially during sexual encounters. So, when he has to fight you for dominance, he gets a little pissed off. Not only does he find it to be incredibly disrespectful, but he deems it to go against the 'natural order' of things. Vulpes is a strong believer in the idea that women should be subservient and obedient to the men in their lives and will make it very clear to you how he feels. He'll bite you and try to overpower you, but if you tug his hair hard enough, there's a chance you'll be able to gain the upper hand in the situation and finally get him to relax into a more submissive role. Truthfully, though, he doesn't mind it all that much. He just doesn't like allowing a woman to order a man around. He thinks it's wrong, but as long as you keep quiet about this interaction, he will too.

New Vegas companions react to a teenage courier?
Another super late post from me (I'm so sorry lmao) but better late than never! I've already said this but I love reading/writing for Teen!Sole/Courier - my courier oc is actually nineteen during the events on New Vegas so stuff like this helps with developing her too! <33
//
Companions React to Teen!Courier
(Includes: Arcade, Boone, Cass, Lily, Raul and Veronica)
Arcade
Straight off the bat, he's gonna have a lot more patience for a younger courier than he would an adult. He doesn't exactly have fond memories of being a teenager - but then again, who does anymore? - so he can't even begin to imagine what it must be like after what the courier had gone through. Although Arcade often prefers to avoid violence when he can, he's more than willing to resort to it when it comes to protecting the courier. However, this means he's all the more disappointed if the courier sides with the Legion, he understands they're far more impressionable and that only makes him harbour more anger towards the faction, but he'd still expected better from them.
Boone
Instantly goes into dad/big brother mode. Boone doesn't anticipate it happening, but he finds himself being much more protective over the courier than he'd like to be. He'd been so excited to be a father before Carla's death and in a strange way, the courier feels like a second chance. He won't mention it, of course, especially not at first, but he'll show that he cares in little ways like making sure Six has a larger portion of the rations than he does or by protecting them from danger before he even considers himself. Boone doesn't want to overstep, nor does he really feel comfortable talking about it, so he'll never bring up how much he cares, he just hopes the courier knows he'll protect them no matter what happens.
Cass
It doesn't make a complete difference to Cass. Of course, she's even more outraged over what Benny did to Six, finding their attempted murder horrific in general, but even more so when it's apparent the courier isn't even eighteen. While Boone takes on a paternal role, Cass quickly becomes an older sister and terrible influence all rolled into one. She'll offer Six whiskey to try, although she knows chances are they've already drank alcohol before - God knows she'd sampled enough as a teenager. She's always willing to give them advice, granted she knows it's not always the best and most moral advice, but she's doing her best regardless.
Lily
Honestly, not much about Lily's relationship with Six would change, even if they were a teenager. She takes her role as their grandma as seriously as ever, refusing to see any harm come to the courier. With Six being even closer in age to her Jimmy and Becky, it sometimes makes it even harder than it usually would for her to remember she's not actually talking to her grandchildren. She's just grateful that the courier is patient with her, even if she isn't the perfect grandma sometimes.
Raul
It's hard for Raul to not be reminded of Rafaela and Claudia when he first meets the courier - regardless of their gender. Almost similarly to Boone, he sees them as a chance to do better and actually protect someone for once (third times the charm, right?) He manages to play it off with sarcasm and quick wit, but he truly does care for Six and he wants what's best for them. Perhaps he won't always agree with their choices and he makes a point to voice that when it's the case, but there's never a day he won't stand by them. He refuses to lose someone a third time.
Veronica
She's actually really excited to meet the teenaged courier. When with the Brotherhood of Steel, Veronica would love spending time with the squires, constantly being reprimanded for distracting them from their work - sure, Six is a little bit older, but she doesn't mind. But now? She doesn't have to worry about her commanding officers telling her to buzz off, she can spend all the time with them that she wants, if they're willing to put up with her. She's definitely a better influence than Cass, or at least she tries to be, but she knows showing Six how to cheat at poker probably wasn't the best idea. Veronica will also insist that she'll deal with Benny herself, but she knows better than to get in the way of the courier and their revenge.

I wrote a short piece on the Courier through Boone's eyes to try out 1st person present tense and practice Boone's voice (which I may or may not be pretty shit at) but it's but it's too short to put on Ao3 so here it is. Boone x Courier Six (implicit), 532 words, tw for unhealthy weight under the cut.
On the day I first met her she entered my nest as quiet as a ghost. Scared the shit out of me if I’m honest. I’m supposed to be a trained soldier. One of the best snipers in the whole damn military with the sense and reflexes to boot; and yet there I was getting taken off guard by some girl who looked like a risen corpse.
That really is how she looks. Her eyes are dull. Not foggy, but like the light never hits them quite right. The skin around them is always darkly bruised, like she never sleeps. She has sickly pale skin that never tans with the sun. She burns sometimes, but she covers up mostly to stop it. It’s all the better for her. If raiders or Legion saw how weak she looks she’d be in a cage or a collar by sun up. In the room with mutants and cannibals though, she’d be safer in a tank top and shorts. Her skin stretches across her bones like she hasn’t eaten in a week. She barely has any flesh for mongrels or ferals to be interested in sinking their teeth into.
I saw a guy like that once. A kid, round 18 or something. NCR rescued him from the back of a caravan shuttling people under their products. The troop that found him brought him to Camp Golf for medicine and lodging while he recovered. He walked around the camp sometimes. Talking to people, saying he wanted to join up when he was better. He died a week later. His body couldn’t keep in what they gave him. That kid and her look the same but somehow she’s still kicking. She eats at the same times as me, usually. But she always picks at the food. When she swallows sometimes she’ll grimace. Like it’s some big effort. The food’s not good, I agree with that, but it’s not even like she hates it. It’s just like it’s hard for her to chew, to get the food down her throat at all.
Took her a while for her to tell me why she kept asking about things any brahmin farmer, casino runner, or caravan guard in the Mojave would know. She took a bullet in the head and somehow survived it. Maybe she should’ve died there and death keeps following her around waiting for her to finally give in. We’re the same in that way. I didn’t die at Bitter Springs cause we were shooting fish in a barrel. Killing women and children wasn’t hard or dangerous. I was never at risk – but I should’ve died there. Should’ve had my skull caved in by some Khan fighter that followed the fleeing families into that valley. The souls that I murdered will do me in some day. They follow me like death follows her. Watching, waiting.
Her and Carla have the same hair color. Light grayish-brown, mousy brown as Carla used to call it. But Carla’s was pin straight. Six has waves. Waves so tight they’re almost curls. Like how my mom’s hair used to look when she’d take her thick rollers out in the morning. I’m glad she’s different in that way. Don’t wanna have to see Carla whenever she turns away from me.
I follow her now, just like I followed Carla. And just like Carla she’s able to make me forget. Sometimes. Maybe I’ll follow her to the grave, and maybe that’d be for the best. For both of us.

[Kaia and Boone] [2]
A/N: ha, this is dumb. I’m going through the stuff on my flashdrive and probably posting some of it.
x
"I sent the ghouls to the moon!"
The wolfish grin she was giving him was hard to decifer. It was the same whether she was pleased with herself or being sarcastic, so there was no telling what direction this conversation was going. Either she'd gone crazy, something he'd been waiting on since the day he'd met her, or she was telling a joke that went over his head.
"Whatever you say."
A pout quickly took the place of her grin, "You don't believe me?"
"I'm almost concerned that you believe yourself."
"Really, Craig," she could see the glare he sent her, he knew he'd regret telling her his first name, "how did you miss the rocket? That's it! No more night shifts for you!"
"You're acting like I'm the one who's losing touch?"
She whined, "Craig, I really did!"
"Uh, huh."
"I'm not crazy!"
"Uh, huh."

Companions reaction to Courier being really good at sniping
I’m adding a few people from either DLC’s or just ones we were robbed of in-game. It’s most likely going to be like that for all my preferences
———
Arcade≈
“And here I thought you were just a mail man/woman”
He’s a bit surprised, but already knew that you were capable of some things he didn’t know possible. Like that one time you manage to impress the absolute shit out of him by shoving a broc flower and xander root into an empty syringe, then stabbing yourself, calling the item a ‘stimpak’
Boone≈
“Whoever can shoot the furthest Legionary wins”
Boone take it as competition, and whenever you kneel or lay down to snipe, he right beside you doing as well. He’ll ask where you’re aiming and be on the same target, watching your hidden talent come to life. If he’s romanced, then what better way than to stay late out at night in Dino, sniping a few slavers as they walk pass?
Cass≈
“Well I’ll be damned. Bet you can’t do it while downing a bottle of whiskey before though”
She’s impressed alright, but she’ll be over the moon if you can still have that good shot on your targets if you’re drunk. She may even give you another bottle if you manage to kill each and every one of your enemies, then she’ll go a bit easier on you. Telling you to relax and sit down, then handing you another bottle for a reward
Raul≈
“Sure boss, your eyesight is a lot better through a scope, but close up?… y-you did good”
He’s sarcastic as ever, he wants to say what comes to mind, but with you holding a rifle in hand standing directly in front of him? He just praises you instead, not wanting to get on your bad side, or making it seem like you aren’t the greatest sniper in the Mojave. He secretly thinks you’re better than Boone
Veronica≈
“Ooh! But wouldn’t it be a lot better if you could just punch them?”
She’ll rant on and on about your hidden talent, asking you to teach her even if she’s the best with fists. She jumps from conversation to conversation, it could be about when you shot the antenna off of a mantis or that time you no scoped a gecko when she accidentally scared you about it, making you just turn and pull the trigger, you still put the poor thing down
Vulpes≈
“You still manage to show your capabilities, ones that I didn’t know of. Impressive”
He’s shocked on the inside, but on the outside, he’s blowing it off with his tough soldier act. He’ll raise a brow, wait for you to finish, and then comment. He’s spied on you before without you knowing, and not once has he seen you be so good at sniping until now. He always adds on before a mission, that you should scout ahead and take out any distracted NCR troops. He just likes seeing you at work
Ulysses≈
“I see no use of that. But if it’s for tunnelers, then I suppose so”
He couldn’t care, he’s never been one for longe ranged weaponry such as your choice of gun, but he’s open to it. As long as you don’t shoot innocent creatures, or the marked men for no reason then he’s alright with it, he’ll even look through the scope at deathclaws and mole rats who roam freely, he may even try to learn himself as well

Benny's Big Score
It turns out that New Reno was not a great place.
It seemed like a good idea at the time, a solution to his problems. But it wasn't.
New Reno was dirty, but not in the same glimmery-glittery way that New Vegas was. It wasn't like when he had come to Vegas for the first time, the Bootstraps with him. He was alone. There were no chairmen to protect him, no brothers willing to die with him.
Sitting in the dingy bar, he curses the courier under his breath.
"Oh, don't get me started on Couriers." a melodic voice chimed in. A smooth-voiced ghoul in a fancy pre-war tuxedo sat down on the barstool next to Benny. "You wouldn't know the half of it."
"A courier done you wrong too?"
"I gave as good as I got." the ghoul replied, and in him, Benny recognized that they were both well-dressed men who had been chased out by couriers.
"And yet we're still sitting here in this bar, ring-a-ding." Benny took a sip of his drink. Disgusting as it was (and expensive!), Benny's pride as a Bootstrap and leader of the Chairmen kept him from spitting it out. "Say, who are you anyhow?"
The ghoul rolled his eyes under the sunglasses he wore.
"200 years ago everyone knew my name. Dean Domino's the name, don't wear it out."
Benny's eyes widened.
"That for real? Where ya been hiding out all this time?" Benny questioned, leaning on the bar counter. "Could have used you back in New Vegas."
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you." Dean answered smoothly. Benny prodded at him again in his "Ring-a-Ding-Ding" fashion, and Dean sighed before answering. "The Sierra Madre."
"Woah, let's keep it in the grove. You," He paused for emphasis. "Are the ghoulified version of prewar icon Dean Domino and you've been hiding out in the casino in the land of the dead?"
"Yes, I suppose if you put it like that."
"I'm the Ben-man, the kingpin of the whole Strip." Benny said, bitterly drinking from his glass. "Or I was."
"Taken down by a courier?" Dean snarked.
"Ain't that a kick in the head. You think you put one in the ground but then they follow you home and try and climb in your bed. Ruin your damn plans. But I'll be back."
"The courier-I never caught their name-banned me from Vegas. They threated to kill me if they ever saw me again. As if they'd get the chance."
"You and me, we're men cut from the same cloth." Benny said, and Dean looked over him.
"Are we really?"
"Yeah, we're both men screwed over by couriers when we could've been kings!" Benny rubbed his hand over his jaw, and then continued. "Y'know...we oughta get together sometime. We could get revenge on the Mojave Express and I have a lot of draw in New Vegas. I could even get you a job preforming in the Tops. Hell, even the Lucky 38."
"Why not?" Dean agreed. Thinking a moment, he asked. "That courier you knew, did they have a large scar on their head?"
"They did actually...a gift from me. Tie, I think that's their name. Well, it's what their boy-toy sniper-type called them when they weren't trying to jump into bed with me."
"Two birds with one stone." Dean said. "Shall we?"
"Yeah, pal."
It took time to get back to New Vegas. This gave them time to plan and plot and scheme about how to get their revenge on the courier.
More or less, it was easy for them to get into the Strip. After all, this was the land that Benny was Chairman of. He was also very skilled with computers, so it wasn't a challenge for Benny to hack into the securitrons.
Their first stop in Vegas was Mick and Ralph's. Throwing a cap to the crier boy outside the story, Benny asked "Are your old men inside?"
The boy responded and Benny strolled into the building like he owned it. Explaining to Dean, he added, "It helps to bring flowers home."
"Benny." Mick greeted shortly.
"Mick, my guy! How's the family?" Benny sidled up to the store owner. "Say, have you gotten any flowers in lately?"
Mick sighed and retreated to the back room. He returned with a wilted bouquet.
"I've only got these in because of Pacer. You know how he's gonna get, you're throwing of his plans with" Mick complained, but Benny cut him off.
"Tell him to send all his complaints to the Tops!" He exclaimed and snatched the bouquet. It was dry and wilty, formed from common Mojave plants rather than one made from Vault-Tec's greenrooms. It must have come in with Crimson Caravans, Benny thought, but Swank would like it well enough.
He shoved a couple caps into Mick's hand-underpaying people was something that got him into trouble before.
"To the Tops!" He called, and Dean followed him.
"Ugh. How things have changed." Dean groaned. "What have you done with the place?"
"Seal it, Dean-o! I've got a man to see. Our plan won't work without Swank."
The man in the check-in window looked up when Benny said his name.
"Shit, Benny. I haven't seen you in ages."
"Missed you too, Swank. You didn't even kiss me goodbye."
"You're not supposed to be here. I know you tried to kill that courier."
"C'mon, Swank. You've gotta let me explain." He gestured with the bouquet. "I brought you flowers."
Swank looked like he was conflicted, but then he sighed.
"Fine. Explain then, boss."
"Alright, so the courier. I did try and kill that courier, but I had good reason for it. You've got to believe me. I needed the platinum chip."
"You can't just keep saying I have to let you explain and I have to believe you. It doesn't work that way. But I'll bite. What's a platinum chip and why did you need it?"
"It's what we need. If we have it, we can upgrade the securitrons and then we won't need the NCR or the Legion or House to protect New Vegas." He smiled bitterly. "It would have been freedom for all of us."
Swank looked at Benny silently.
"I know why I failed now. I needed you and the Chairmen. I needed you."
That seemed to certify it for Swank. He inhaled deeply and then exhaled.
"Alright Benny. But this is the last time. You mess this up and it'll be the end-not just for you and me, but for all of us." He made cautious and firm eye contact with Benny. "What's the plan?"
"You're the man, Swank!" Benny shouted excitedly and leaned over the weapon-check counter to wrap a hand around Swank's shoulder and pull him down for a kiss. Releasing him, he continued. "Oh, it's a doozy of a plan."
Swank looked around and then signalled to another Chairman.
"You take over here." He said, and stepped out from behind the weapon check counter.
The plan was a doozy, Swank thought as he walked from the Tops to the Lucky 38. He hoped the Courier was staying there tonight. If not, he'd have to regroup with Benny and Dean to send them to the Atomic Wrangler instead.
Night had fallen quickly over New Vegas in the hours after Benny had made up with Swank, but his thoughts were quickly interrupted when Swank bumped into someone.
"Watch it," He barked. Looking at the young woman, he realized she was a courier-she had a courier's duster loosely over a purple shirt-but not the one they were going to kill.
"Eh? Did you need something?" She said, "I'm going to Show Low."
It was a dangerous route for a courier because it went right into Legion teritory, but Swank didn't care. It seemed like a good idea at the time, a solution to his problems. But it wasn't.
"Sorry. Good luck!" He said and continued on route to the Lucky 38.
"You too?" Swank heard, but there was a lot of noise. The Strip was loud.
Arriving at the Lucky 38, he let himself in. The collar weighed heavily in his pocket, but he knew that was just in his head. It couldn't weigh more than a pound or two.
"Hello?" he called. "I need to speak to the Courier? It's really important..."
There wasn't any response for a moment. Then the elevator chimed and two people exited.
One was the Courier, and the other was a bitter-faced sniper with an NCR beret.
"Oh...Mr. Tops?" The courier said. "Did you need something? We were just on our way out..."
"Yes, and it's very important. And it can't wait." Swank replied
The little computer on the Courier's arm beeped.
"Alright, what's going on?"
"Sit down, this is very important news." The courier sat down. The sniper stood to the side.
His hands were starting to sweat and he wiped them on his suitpants. Ugh, he could almost hear Benny scolding him for dirtying it.
"I've discovered..." He spoke softly...and the courier leaned into hear better. Just as they planned. "Sorry."
With that, he swiftly reached into his coat pocket and snapped the collar around the courier's neck. It latched closed and armed before they could even move.
They startled back, but it was of no use.
"Recognize it, courier?" a charismatic and smooth voice called as Dean Domino and Benny Gecko strolled into the lobby of the Lucky 38.
The Courier's face was fearful, but the sniper's eyes were full of rage. Their hands clawed at their throat, but it was futile against the explosive collar.
"I wouldn't do that, Pussycat." Benny's voice chimed in. "It's rigged to blow. But I'm sure you knew that. According to my new friend here, you've had some experience with them."
"Dean." They said quietly. " You were warned. I told you what I'd do if I ever saw you again. I'll kill you even if I have to take you down with me."
"Geez, Domino, what'd you do to make 'em hate you so bad?" Benny ran a hand through his hair. "I shot them in the head-twice, even-and left them for dead. And they still tried to sleep with me! Oh, and I wouldn't go making any moves there, friend, unless you'd like your little courier blown to bits. Or do, it would make it easier on me."
"I believe it was that I had their little friend's vocal cords ripped out. Or maybe it was the whole threatening to blow them up." Dean answered. "I never narrowed it down."
"Wow, Benny!" the Pip-Boy beeped. "I never thought I'd see you again! You keep some interesting friends!"
"Yes-Man?" Benny questioned, and then waved it aside. "Eh, never mind. When I've got the platinum chip, I can fix whatever they did to you."
"Yes-Man," Antietam said, dropping their hands from their neck "Could you keep it down? I'm about to get blown up."
"No, you're not." Boone reassured them quietly. "Gotta be some way to take these guys out..."
Internally, Antietam was weighing whether it was worth it to charge Dean and take him down with them. But there was a likelihood of Boone being injured in the blast, so it wasn't going to work out.
"Now, now Courier..." Dean said. "Where did you take the treasure when you ran off? You ruined over two hundred years worth of revenge."
The courier wanted to lash out, but they reigned their temper in.
"You ruined it...You ruined the whole Sierra Madre, did you know that? It could have been a safe haven, a shelter from the nuclear anihilation. But you couldn't tolerate what you percieved as an insult to your ego! And you ruined Vera's life-she was dying and you blackmailed her!" Their vitreolic rant paused. It wasn't the whole sad story, but the only one who knew that was Antietam. And they were too angry and biased against Dean to really care that their rant was biased. "What do you have to say for yourself?"
"Woah, let's calm down, Pussycat. You keep yourself under control or one of us might just forget ourselves and hit that button. We wouldn't want that, now would we? Let's get down to business." Christine and Veronica ran downstairs.
"Hey, what's going on? We heard commotion." Veronica said, and then when she saw the situation, she put her hands on her hips. "Are you guys having a party without me?"
Christine, on the other hand, growled.
"Dean." It came out in Vera's voice, and if Dean had skin, it would have gone pale with fear. As it was, it broke his composure.
"So it worked." He said finally.
"Alright, don't make any moves!" Benny shouted. "You try anything and I'll blow your friend to smithereens."
"Who are these guys?" Veronica asked.
"Some guys who tried to kill Tie before, I think." Boone answered
"Dean Domino, Swank Gecko-Pierce, and I'm the pro from Dover." Benny barked. "Now I want answers! Where's the platinum chip?"
None of them answered.
"I guess none of you value the Courier's life, seeing as none of you are providing answers." He pulled Maria from his pocket. "No matter. We'll start with the boy toy."
With that, he leveled Maria at Boone.
"Things are getting a little heated, Benny." Swank said, making eye contact with the checker-suited man.
"Stop." The Courier said. "I'll tell you where I hid the chip. Just let my friends go."
"Benny, this is getting more heated than I thought it would." Swank noted.
"Can it, Swank. We're about to get some answers!" Benny responded.
"It's in the dresser in the motel in Novac. Let my friends go, Benny."
"It's like it doesn't even matter to you!" Benny exclaimed. "It-" Swank cut him off by setting a hand on Benny's outstretched arm.
"Benny, calm down. We don't have time for his right now."
"Yeah, Benny, calm down." Dean chimed in, although it was clearly mocking him, which Benny picked up on immediately.
"You got something to add, Deano?" Benny snarked back.
"You know, Ben-man, I think I'm tired of playing accomplice. I'm so tired of playing second fiddle...I think I'll kill you and your friends and claim New Vegas for my own."
"Yeah, that's not happening." Benny fired back. He pointed Maria at Dean. "It's been real and it's been great, but it's not real great."
He fired.
"Shit, Benny, you missed." Swank said, to which Benny responded "Shut up, I know I missed."
He shot again and again and Dean didn't move, until he slumped to the ground, full of lead.
"Well, that's a bust." Benny said. "Hey, whataya say, Courier? We can burry the hatchet with this guy and work together. I won't kill you or your little friends and you won't kill me and Swank. Fair's fair, right?"
It was a stretch-even now, Christine and Veronica's nimble fingers were removing the explosive collar from the angry courier's throat. But Benny had always been a gambling man.

Clingy!Boone HCs

Boone isn’t a very talkative person, however, when I’m private, he can be incredibly touchy.
He’ll hug you from behind and rest his head on your shoulder, while he relaxes into your touch, relishing the moments he has with you before you both have to go fight in the final war at Hoover Dam.
He’ll ask to go with you whenever you have to leave for a quest, and he’ll argue all the reasons that he should until you finally relent and allow him to tag along. He can’t imagine his life when he’s not beside you.
He always tugs your hand to pull you behind a rock, blocking you both from view as a group of legionaries march past, unaware of the two of you lurking. He’ll keep hold of your hand king after they’re all gone, loving the warm feeling it gives him before he, unwillingly, lets it go.
Whenever the two of you are dressing up to hit the town in Vegas, he’ll offer to zip up your dress or tie your tie just so he can stand a little closer to you before he walks you to the casinos.
He always jumps at the opportunity to kiss the crown of your head.
He’s always watching out for you. He’s sizing up anyone who comes near and will always be quick to step in front of you if anyone ever tried anything.
He’ll rest his hand on the small of your back and gently guide you through the crowds of people on the Strip to ensure you and him don’t separate or get lost from one another.
He’ll wrap an arm around you as you sleep, holding you close against his chest as he breathes in your scent.
He feels this strong ache in his chest whenever you two are apart.
He won’t ever admit it, but he loves when you let him lay in your lap. He calms him down so quickly and he’ll almost always fall asleep.
He likes to trace his fingers along your arms and shoulders whenever the two of you are sitting silently together.
He loves following you around. It doesn’t matter where you’re going, he’s just happy to be able to come along. He loves being around you and especially loves guarding you against anything the wasteland conjures.
He doesn’t want to have to leave you during the night when you’re in Novac, so he’ll ask if you want to sit up in the dinosaur with him instead. You could fall asleep on all the blankets you took up there, or talk his ear off, but as long as you’re there with him he’ll be happy.
Boone is so scared of losing you, so he always tries to be there. At every turn, in any setting, he wants to be by your side. You won’t have to suffer the same fate as so many in the Mojave, he’ll make sure of it.

“You always did remind me of her…
From the very first moment I laid eyes on you, I knew you were...different.
Heard you before I saw you, of course. You and that idiot brother of yours came down the highway like two drunk deathclaws and twice as destructive.
Even sixty five feet in the air I couldn't miss you. Guess you just have a way of making the world pay attention to you, no matter how small you seem.
She was like that too.
You didn't look like her though. Different hair, different eyes, different everything. Yet the moment I turned around and saw you there in that doorway, it was like looking at a ghost.
You may not have looked a damn thing like her, but the way you smiled at me was something only she could do. Something I never thought I'd see again.
It only got worse when you opened that big mouth. You were so confident but no idea what about. Falling over your words as you tried to make small talk with the man who was looking at you as if you'd come to take him to his maker… not that it stopped you.
I never was good with words, even less so when it came to you. But just like her, you spoke enough for the both of us. Even from that first conversation you had me figured out, always knew what I was thinking and what I wanted to say. As hard as I tried to push away, you kept pulling me right back.
I never did know why you wanted me to come along with you.
I still don't.
You never did make sense to me, Claudia.
Carla didn't either.
Maybe that's why I...”

Hi again! Thanks for the reply I really loved it! Expect to hear from me more cause I’m really into new Vegas! Could you do the companions + yes man and Benny reaction to Six having incredibly good hearing. Like can hear a dog whistle kind of good (bonus points if six is the “you talking shit” kind of person) thanks!!
Hey!! Don't worry, I adore New Vegas so it's always an honour to write for it!! This is such a fun idea and you know for sure that Six is gonna be like that! Whenever I write about Six/Sole/Lone etc. I always do it with my own characters in mind and my Six is DEFINITELY that kind of person LMAO
//
New Vegas Characters React to the Courier Having Incredibly Good Hearing
(Includes: Arcade, Boone, Cass, Lily, Raul, Veronica, Yes Man and Benny)
Arcade
When you first bring up your hearing to Arcade, he assumes you're joking. There's no way anyone can hear that well, he's sure of it. You prove him wrong soon enough, and he finds himself grumbling an apology for doubting you. He doesn't think much of it at first, just being sure not to mutter any complaints about you under his breath - you'd already caught him the last time he did that and threatened to sic ED-E on him. It's only when you're scouting out a location for Legionaries that he actually realises just how helpful your hearing can actually be. After battling it out and winning against a group of them, it seemed as though the area had been cleared out, with Arcade completely unaware of the Legionary that had survived sneaking up behind him in an attempt to slit his throat. It was only for the fact that you'd heard his quiet breathing and were able to turn around and shoot him before he could take out your companion that Arcade even survived. He found himself swallowing his pride and thanking you and your peculiarly incredible hearing.
Boone
Upon first joining up with you, Boone doesn't pay all that much attention to you or anything you have to say, truth be told. He doesn't want to get attached, after what happened to Carla and his child, assuming that this arrangement will also end in a death, whether that be yours or his own. It takes him a while to notice your hearing being far superior to his own, but when he does, he instantly points it out. By this point, he knows enough about you to expect you to take offense, assuming he's making fun of you for it, but you're more surprised when he points out it could be a useful skill to have. As the two of you travel together more and begin to fight better as a team, he often makes sure your hearing is used to your advantage, having you listen out for nearby targets that he can't see from the blind spots in his scope - something that saves his ass more times than he'd care to admit. You'd never considered your hearing to hold much value, yet now Boone makes you feel as though it's something to give you both the upper hand in combat.
Cass
At first, Cass doesn't really understand what's so interesting about your hearing, she's more annoyed when you complain about how she breathes too loud or how she's practically deafening when she's drunk. It'll likely become something the two of you argue about a lot, you'll tell her to be quieter when she eats and she'll tell you to "Shut you ears". It's nothing serious, just back and forth bickering between the two of you and you exclaiming that you heard her whisper how you're a moron. While Cass likes to voice her frustration about your particularly annoying talent a lot, she does find it pretty cool when she needs you to listen into whatever the Van Graffs are saying about her. She figures, eventually, that maybe it's got its perks too.
Lily
Quite early on in your travels with the Nightkin, Lily starts to notice quickly how sensitive your ears seem to be to loud noises - whether it be gunshots or even just someone speaking to you fairly loudly. Lily eventually asks you about it, not wanting to seem rude or hurt your feelings, but wanting to help you if you needed it. Ever the caring grandmother, once you explain to Lily that your hearing is extremely above average, she takes it upon herself to find a way to help you. The next time you speak with her, she presents to you a pair of earmuffs, ones that she'd knitted almost a forever ago for her Jimmy and Becky, so they wouldn't get cold as winter came in. She doesn't expect you to be thrilled with them, you're probably getting a little too old for your grandma to be knitting you things anyway, but when you seem so deeply touched by the gesture, she can't resist wrapping you into a tight hug.
Raul
Raul notices your hearing early on too, similar to Lily, but he decides to never bring it up to you, figuring that if you wanted him to know about it then he already would. Inevitably, you mention it in passing conversation like it's the most normal thing in the world and when he's taken aback by your casualness, you assume he's going to make fun of you. He clarifies that it's actually impressive and something he's almost envious of. Now a ghoul, Raul's senses are nothing like they used to be. he'd give anything to have hearing even the slightest bit like yours. Your own hearing ends up having its way of helping Raul out, when he can mumble something quietly enough for only you to hear - usually when someone was speaking to him and he didn't catch the end of their sentence and needs you to step in for him. Raul doesn't want you to feel like he's constantly depending on you, or that it's the only reason he travels with you so often, but it's nice to have someone help him here and there.
Veronica
If Veronica didn't think you were cool already, the fact that you can figure out where the Brotherhood bunker is based on the inaudible - to her - sound of an engine humming is definitive proof of that. It isn't long before she's showing you off like she won you at a fun fair, telling everyone how her buddy Six can hear the Lucky 38 slot machines from all the way in the Mojave Outpost (totally not true, by the way. She insists on you playing along) You have to admit, it leads to you winning a lot of bets against over confident NCR soldiers and drunken gamblers, but you do find yourself frequently insisting that one day, Veronica is going to get the both of you in trouble. Still, you can't help but enjoy the ego boost as she gushes about you to anyone and everyone who'll listen.
Yes Man
Somehow, Yes Man is already completely clued up on your hearing, but frankly it doesn't come as much of a surprise to you. You've met weirder Securitrons, shockingly enough. He refers to it as a "neat trick" as though it wasn't something you were born with before he continues to discuss the factions you need to check out. Of course, if he thinks that your hearing could be useful in certain situations, maybe around enemies with Stealth Boys, he will make a point to let you know before you go anywhere. He offers helpful advice, but knowing your hearing is superior to that of the average person's doesn't really mean much else to him.
Benny
You already know he's going to make a joke about how you should've heard him sneaking up behind you before he got the jump on you, maybe then he wouldn't have had the chance to shoot you in the head. You respond to this by practically rolling your eyes into the back of your skull and gifting him a broken nose. He immediately decides you owe him a new jacket, since this one is now covered in his blood. Knowing full well that Benny is a gossip who can't keep his mouth shut, you aren't surprised when he starts asking you to listen out for people talking about him behind his back. You're pretty sure it's your fault he had that argument with Swank in the middle of the Tops lobby, but you decided that's just karma getting him.

[Kaia and Boone] [1]
X
There was something dangerous in her eyes.
Of course, there was something dangerous about her in general. He knew that. This was the woman who had risked her life to climb to a vantage point in the middle of Quarry Junction and spent the following hours shooting down deathclaws. The woman who kept a nightstalker as a pet and somehow had convinced him and Rex to accept it.
Next thing he knew, she'd be trying to make friends with deathclaws.
She'd dived into Boomer territory with little more than a moment's thought, charged into the middle of multiple Legion camps, and she was still alive to tell the tale.
Kaia was dangerous, yet he still trailed behind her, throwing scraps to Scruffy and frequently napping amongst the remains of their enemies. She had the type of charismatic personality no one could ignore and a crooked smile that he was convinced could draw in anyone.
He had it bad.
Scruffy, the terrifying little monster, spent day and night by her side, hissing whenever Boone got too close for his comfort and bearing his fangs. Sure, Rex could get as close as he wanted, but Boone wanted to talk and he got veiled threats from a hardly-domesticated beast.
"Boone," her voice cut through the air, quiet and uncertain in the darkness that surrounded them, brightened only by the Pip-boy on her wrist, "you wanna help me out here?"
She didn't small talk with him often—not that asking for help was small talk—it wasn't that she was quiet, she'd proved quite the opposite when in the midst of others, but he was and she never made an attempt to force a conversation, she'd rather spend time in the blissful silence, listening for danger while the fire crackled in front of them. He'd seen her get wounded many times, which was no surprise when how long they'd been traveling together was considered, but she'd never asked for his help with a wound before and he wasn't expecting her to start now.
"Well?"
She was obviously getting more flustered the longer it took him to reply. She didn't like asking for help, he'd always pushed it off on how baby-faced she was, coupled with her size, it made for some vastly incorrect assumptions of her age. "Sure."
Scruffy hissed as Boone approached, but a swift tap on his nose silenced him. "Be nice, grumpy, Craig's a friend." He huffed a bit, giving Boone a look of what he could almost swear was jealousy—she did give him and Rex most of her attention, to be fair—but laid back down none the less. Kaia smiled her almost cocky smile at him, a split lip from a lucky punch and the swelling from another on her nose giving her a look matching her personality. "Don't think it needs stitches, but we're out of stims so I'm not sure."
She lifted her shirt, giving him a view of her scarred and muscled back, with a deep cut running from below her bra to her right hip.
"Looks bad."
She snorted, "Wow, I never would of guessed. The blinding pain didn't give that one away." She could almost see him rolling his eyes at her sarcasm. "You think it needs stitches or can we just wrap it and buy some stims tomorrow?"
"I'm sure it can wait. Do we have any bandages?"
"I have a…" she ruffled around in the bag at her feet, pushing aside countless objects that he'd never understand the point of dragging around, "pair of jeans." She rose the tattered fabric over her shoulder, handing it to Boone. "So."
Boone raised a brow at the one word sentence, waiting for her to continue. "So what?"
"So, how are you?" The question came with the softness he'd heard her use with only children and animals, the motherly tone you wouldn't expect from a blood-stained wastelander who spent most of her time tossing sarcastic comments in the faces of almost everyone they met.
The tone threw him for a loop, but he regained his composure quiet enough to pull his hand away before she could place her own on it. "I'm fine."
She sighed, not calling him on the blatant lie, but turning to herself instead. "I'm glad one of us is." She shrugged, her shoulders slumping as they fell, "Kinda hard not knowing who you are, you know?"
It wasn't something she spoke about often. She kept it to herself, suffering in silence through the nightmarish memories that came in flashes, jolting her awake most nights. He's heard the labored breathing as she tried to remember where she was and put the thoughts in order in her mind, but he'd never asked her about it; she didn't ask him about his traumas, he wouldn't ask her. Though it seemed she'd finally decided to open up about it.
"The first thing I remember is waking up in the middle of nowhere with those bloody ants crawling over me. Don't know how I didn't get devoured there. Before that there's nothin'." Another sigh slid past her lips, "It's kinda hard to be someone when your entire past is just shadows."
"You remember your name."
She snorted, wincing as a sharp pain went through her side. "Kaia isn’t my name, not so far as I know. Didn't have a name at all the first few months, then I found a book of pre-war names. I switched my name every new place I went for awhile, but after…" her brow wrinkled, her long-term goal returning to the forefront of her mind, "anyway, after Goodsprings I settled on Kaia. Figured I could stand living with it, short as a life I'll probably have, 'least until I get a flash of a name or something."
"Why bring this up now?" As he used some tape that she'd tossed to him earlier in the day to secure the makeshift bandage, he couldn't help but ask.
"Thought it was about time, I knew enough about you." She took a breath, considering her next words, "figured I cared enough about you to share too."
He was silent, sparking anxiety, just as she prepared to get to her feet, his hand rested on one of hers. "Glad you feel the same."
Even through the pain in her back, she was ecstatic.
