in january 2022, i began my second 3d modeling project ever. after months of work, i'd learned a lot about 3d modeling... too much, in fact, so this project never saw the light of day until now.
my design of prism has greatly shifted since then, but im still proud of this little model in the end.
#some details about the project: originally was just going to edit the smash model... of larry. never got anywhere though#then i got the idea to model prism as well as another character. after scrapping the initial project i started on new models of both#but then i took a big break from blender for a long time. the other model is /close/ to finishing (iirc only textures left)#but prism not so much so i decided to completely scrap her and just post the old version#cpuk#cpu kerfuffle#my art#in the time since the project's creation i have watched her do so many fortnite dances... the power of 3d

hey so idk if this is a theory as much as it is analysis but i just realized: In Prism’s search for a new god, she isn’t looking for strength— she’s looking for manipulability. She’s looking for flawed, passionate people who wear their hearts on their sleeves, who she can aggravate easily and possibly turn against other people.
My evidence for this is as follows: her choice to turn Peppermint of all people into a goddess, the fact that she focuses on Dani as a prospective new god, and then also her dissatisfaction with Cobalt, who is almost as strong as Dani, but who is less susceptible to her manipulation.
im gonna come back to this later and flesh this whole theory out as an essay, but i dont have time rn. I will say- its been a bit since i reread the NCCTs, and I havent seen any of the stuff past halfway through NCCT4. So if there’s any extra info from there that either supports, disproves, or adds another angle to this, I’d love to hear it.

"Jack please help me."
When the sword hits, it hits hard. Shadow is sent flying from the tiny platforms, hitting the faux lava with a pathetic slap. It'd been a close battle, closer than any of Shadow's before. Not that it mattered, really, as it ended just the same.
Words are shared. They, as per usual, are not his own. However, just this once, they are about him.
"Its clear that me and Shadow are...incompatible. :)"
"So how 'bout this? I let him go... :)"
What?
"And...the two of us test our compatibility. :)"
Jack hesitates. His one red eye is flashing fast, indicating that the Discord was speaking to him. Whatever they were saying, Shadow was the only one who couldn't hear.
"Nelson...do you trust me?"
And that's the last thing he hears. Like an atom bomb, Prism exploded out of his skin, shedding that sickly purple hue as she take control of the swordsman. Shadow fell to his knees, his own, red knees.
"...Wh...What did you do?"
His first words. For Gods know how long, he hadn't been able to speak, not of his own volition. And yet, despite the freedom, all he could feel was that same damned regret.
"Jack, what the hell did you do?" The Red Shadow called out. "Why... Why would you...?"
Prism hasn't taken him, not yet, not fully. Hes crouched on the ground, clutching his chest with a pained expression. And yet, he smiled.
"...You're free. Please, take that freedom...that's all that they wished for."
Tears. Are the Jack's? Shadow's? Both, neither? Shadow's hands are shaking, and despite it all, he can't stop them. Once again, he can't control himself.
"You... You're an idiot. She'll destroy you. It's a fate worse than death."
"Just...trust me, okay? It'll all... It'll all be just fine, Shadow. :)"
Dammit. Once again, in a body that isn't yet his, Shadow runs. Where, he does not know. He just has to run.
"Hey, don't got yet! You're up next! :)"
Prism pushed the dream world forward, catching up to Shadow and making him run in place. At the same moment, Cosmic Love is pulled in, hovering just in front of him.
"C-Cosmic, you-!"
She frowns.
"...Allow yourself this pleasure. So many have fought for it."
And, for the first time, Shadow stops, breathes, listens. That note...the message they'd left for him. This is what the meant, then. This was what they'd all given him. What Cosmic has given him. What Jack had given him.
"...I feel so different."
The tears are back. He knows who's they are now.
"Thank you, thank you so much Jack..."
He chooses to cry. Prism can wait that long, can't she? He can cry, without her pulling him forward and forcing him to fight.
"If you can hear me...thank you..."
"...He can."

nccts is funny. anyway cyberbullying prism is a way of life and i am committed to it i am putting her in a shoebox with no airholes and floating it down the Alafia River to be carried to and sink to the bottom of Tampa Bay where she will be torn asunder by the sharks
#considered marking 'i like them enough to project my own issues onto them' but thats not quite accurate#the nccts have made prism's character into a frighteningly real depiction of an abusive parent that reminds me of my own experiences#and so theres stuff that feels almost instinctively true about her and her relationship with the cods that isnt#bc im seeing my family in it and probably projecting a little because of the parallels im seeing#so i guess it's more 'wow... they are LITERALLY my dad' (derogatory)#i hate her very much (she is an extremely effective antagonist)#she's metatextually interesting bc 'narrator thats a character aware that its a story and has godlike power over it' is not a New concept#but shes a very interesting take on it because shes proper introduced several seasons in#and shes grounded in the world she exists in because her actions have consequences in it on people who are just as real/fake as she is#so its easy to fully invest in the idea that this world is meaningful even if it isnt real unlike some other metafiction thats so consumed#by pretentious metatextuality that it becomes kind of hard to care if thats not the point because it undermines itself and your investment#but cpuk comes with 1) so much investment from seasons of fun and goofy storytelling beforehand#and 2) a thin 4th wall to begin with#so its neither surprising nor undermines its world that the emissary of the highest god of its reality is Literally A Narrator#that polices and alters the narrative to her whim with the goal of driving it toward a meaningful and satisfying conclusion#whether the characters would Really be ultimately happy with their predetermined trajectories as chosen by her or not#because she wont doesn't and doesn't know How to understand them deeply enough to really know what they Need#just what they want on a surface level. without really understanding why they want it. because she can't really imagine something deeper.#which leads her to an often flawed idea of what their 'happy ending' would be especially when she doesn't want to face an ending at all#and thats not even getting into how she's come to view her wards the ciblings like sacrificial lambs on the altar of meaning#someone has to keep things in line. someone has to be a tragedy. someone has to be the villain.#even if it means shaping the lives of the fellow immortals in her care for the worse so that they ultimately hurt themselves and others#girl i think you gave your youngest son a paranoid complex that if someones too Nice tm to him theyre lying and only cruelty is honest#and on top of that your daughter has literally disowned you and her godhood about how you make her feel#your only kid who trusted your opinion on Anything came to you for advice on connecting with people and you gave him an identity crisis#i cant say i dont understand why prism's like this. and i empathize with the problem. but i am still hissing and killing and biting also#*because she can't really imagine a state of content#she can imagine people having depth she just. cant imagine a state of contentment with the self and ones own life#so how's she supposed to really help other people to reach that point
