I've taken upon myself to draw every main character of the podcast I listened, first up Howie coxwell they're one of the first podcasts that i listen and made me explore and listen to other shows as well, they're one of my personal favorite and I hope you like the art!

milkman of saint gaffs doesn't have the best prose, but in terms of writing a FRUSTRATING unreliable narrator it's eerily good at it

howie feels a lot like brother faulkner from silt verses. a guy that's been through a lot, so it coaxes the audience to feel for him, but then you find out that literally everything that's ever happened to him is his own fault and he doesn't SEE that, no matter what the universe does to try and open his eyes. even more, there are some aspects to it that may not actually BE his fault on account of supernatural circumstances, but never once does he take accountability for it. it's maddening watching him bumble along and get worse and worse as a person and yet it's really fascinating how he manages to dodge every moral the story tries to chuck his way

truly cannot tell if i enjoy or am revolted by listening to little howie narrate his twisted little choices 🐄

Hello friends! Happy Sunday. Early post today because I have some goodies for you.

First, a promo snippet from today's chapter of where I belong (that I'll probably post late in the day):

“No one ma’ams me, boy,” I hiss, finally looking up at him. He looks like all the bad qualities of every kid I’ve ever been sent wrapped in nervous energy and embarrassment. Fucking ideal. He’ll run back to his Mummy crying in two minutes.

And then six sentences/short paragraphs from a new WIP! I was struggling to pick only 6 snippets, but then I noticed that the first chapter contains the word Christ 6 times, and the choice was made. I decided to share all of them:

Christ. Of all the people who could have visited me on a nice November Sunday, it had to be Basilton Grimm-Pitch. The one who got away.

“Because he's good! Christ,” they sigh, dreamily, and here's another parenting failure to add to the list (whether I mean the swearing or the thinking positive feelings about Basilton Grimm-Pitch is up for debate), “he won GBBO when he was nineteen.”

Christ, Basilton, keep it together. Just because I haven't had sex in five weeks, which is probably the longest I've gone without a cock in my arse since I started university, doesn't mean I need to mentally throw myself at him like a desperate slut.

Chapman-Coxwell, Chapman-Coxwell… Christ. Neither can I.

I choke on the tea I'm not even drinking. On the idea of it. Fiancé. Me. Simon. Christ.

“Christ, Dad, are you even listening to me?”

Basically Christ is a main character and apparently the third fiancé 🤷🏻‍♀️

Tithe barn

A tithe barn was a type of barn used in much of northern Europe in the Middle Ages for storing rents and tithes. Farmers were required to give one-tenth of their produce to the established Church. Tithe barns were usually associated with the village church or rectory, and independent farmers took their tithes there.
