This is for @undreaming-fanfiction 's Steddie 2023 Music List Collab! The timing is kinda perfect because I've been listening to this song the other day and thought about Steddie immediately:

Coraline by Maneskin

This song talks about a girl who takes the weight of other people's problems as her own but never thinks about herself. Coraline is described to be a beautiful girl who's considered worthless by other people, she has anxiety, she wants to move away from her town but she's stuck because of a big weight holding her back.

The story of Coraline is told from the singer's POV who asks Coraline repeatedly to be honest with him and tell him all her truths. The singer wants to help her and declares he would do anything, be a soldier or a shield for her and he doesn't want anything in return, just a smile from her.

I fell in love with the idea of Eddie noticing Steve's pain after everything he went through, his efforts to make everyone in the Party but himself happy, and writing this song to Steve to show him he knows and would do anything to help him out.

Also there are a lot of symbols that remind me of them: there's a reference to a castle in which Coraline can hide (Steve's house), the singer being a Shield (like the shield Eddie made for the bats), Coraline being afraid of water (some suggest that Steve will be scared of water after jumping in the lake) and the singer asking for more time to help her (we'd all love it if Eddie had more time, wouldn't we?).

Written by the italian rock band Måneskin for their album Teatro d'Ira, this musical-shaped fairytale without a happy ending will surely touch your heart

Coraline tells us about a young, caring and lonely woman who suffers on her own, but still wants to help everyone carry their pain. Hiding her tears and trying to fight her fears and worries in a world who doesn't seem to understand her.

Accompanied by amazing vocals and heavenly guitar beat, Coraline makes the perfect song for when you need to be alone for a while and breath to the music
