so I figured I should make an intro post…?
idk man, my name is Gigi and I go by they/them. I’m in my early twenties and haven’t been on tumblr in quiet a while now but I made this blog so I could have a place for my ✨sinful feels✨ towards various Far Cry antagonists and connect a bit with others from the community (I’m also a cosplayer but I don’t wanna post about that here because if someone were ever to make the connection from my unholy thoughts to me irl I’d feel like a pretty big clown)
Citra was what made me fall completely for the franchise. I still love her unconditionally to this day despite the horrible things she has done. Vaas is a close second. Then FC5 came along and I never wished for anything more than to be locked up with all of the Seeds in a bunker. But Mary May managed to steal my heart and she holds a special place there hehe

It's about the hurt/comfort. *clenches fist* I do definitely have days where I prefer one over the other. But both are definitely fantastic, and I cannot have just one and nothing of the other. The development of getting through or past the angst is often one of the most delicious points to me, and, equally so, a good dose of fluff is a fantastic little reward of its own. There's a lot of depth and a lot of things to explore in both situationally or for an individual character, and exploring whatever story fits them most is what will be the most satisfying for me, in the end!
For... say, a rough overview of an example, Astor has... generally been through enough being a Warrior of Light that him obtaining a healthy, happy relationship with Gaius or, in my friend and I's shared timeline of events, her oc Eden is the icing on the cake. It's what I want most for him, and what he craves most - an end to all of this fighting and uncertainty and something better to look forward to. Don't get me started on spluttering about their height differences or the silly little hcs about braiding and playing with hair or jewelry or forehead touching. It's just fantastic. It's great. It's wonderful. It's what they deserve.
But Shay's arc, on the other hand, is largely focused on him having a lot of issues that he never worked through, and now he's an adult and trying to do this whole relationship thing, and he struggles with it. He fucks up. He doesn't talk about things because he never learned how - never was really allowed to when he was younger, and he doesn't always handle that in a healthy or right or fair way the first time. Him and Airi meet in the very, very early beginnings of A Realm Reborn, and he does not really get a whole lot of it right and smoothly communicated until well at the end of Shadowbringers. He makes progress. They get better. He learns slowly how to be more genuine and kind to himself, and, as a direct result, those around him, but it's still a process. And, y'know, his whole thing is Dark Knight and greatswords and painting himself as the villain if he needs to. He can be very dramatic about it at times.
So both. Both is good.
🏆 fic you're most proud of?
If you might indulge me referencing something outside of XIV for a moment, some of my favorite personal work is actually two things I wrote for my Deputy from Far Cry 5. I meant to do a whole lot more with him and the fandom, but never got back to it outside of these two pieces, but I still find myself going back to them as a reader and enjoying what I did, and the title music of Far Cry 5 still does things to me. I actually bonded very hard with my Deputy and, while I'll admit it maybe wasn't the best of games ever, I still enjoyed it greatly and it holds a lil special place in my heart with its memories and what I did create.
So, those two, in chronological order of game events rather than the order in which I wrote them are the one thing stronger than fear, set at the close of the game's first big arc, and before the new dawn, which is a lil... fix-it, sorta to the ending of FC5. XD Both available on my AO3!
As for a specifically XIV piece, I... actually had a bit of trouble with this one. Astor being my main and having gone through a few changes since I first started playing and writing, not to mention the whole having several iterations of events bit... I have several unfinished works, and many works I've technically written, but things have changed since then, and, admittedly, I've got a bit of a writer's bane problem about it where I'm my own worst critic. I do actually have a spicy piece I wrote about Gaius and Astor's first encounter, but I'm... severely baby, severely inexperienced, and extremely asexual myself, so as happy as I am with it, it's... a me present more than anything I've yet to feel comfortable sharing. x,D
For XIV work, however, I have two selections that I'll refrain from posting for the moment at least because they both live in my google docs only and I have yet to let them live on AO3, but I have a piece set during Heavensward that explores both Astor's lingering relationship and feelings for Odeve and him and Eden's developing feelings for each other that's near and dear to my heart because it finally offered me some better closure on him and Odeve, who I actually still love dearly, and they still have lingering feelings for each other, I think, even though they both mutually and happily agreed that hey, we're best as friends, so this was an instance in which they made an exception to that - something that bothered Astor for a while because a part of him felt like he took advantage of her and used her when he was just... in a really rough spot. So having written this and knowing he and they have to work through those kinds of feelings is what keeps that place near and dear to my heart.
The other is a piece I did for a "what if Shadowbringers, but it all went horribly wrong" and basically explores what Theo would leave behind for Carvallain as that captain's most beloved nuisance. I actually adore Theo and his relationship with Carvallain and Stephanivien, but this is like, the only thing I've actually personally written for them yet, which is both tragic and wonderful because I love the emotions in this piece, but also I have... the literal entirety of their actual relationship to put into words instead of just hcs, too. xD One day!

Happy Birthday Far Cry 5!
So Far Cry 5 turns 2 today, and I can’t quite believe it’s been that long already! Being a part of the community has been a truly extraordinary experience, one of the highlights of my internet ‘career’ ahahaha!
I knew almost nothing about the Far Cry franchise when FC5 entered my life, but suddenly, there I was, with John Seed dead before me, and I thought:
‘Well... that guy was really hot.’
Two years later, here I am still. Trash for my sad psycho boy with the beautiful blue eyes and ridiculous plane coat. So I thought I’d just list some of my favourite things that have happened to me because of this game, and because of the wonderful, amazing people who are in this fandom!

For Just a Moment
Pairing: The wonderful and beautiful Deputy Lila O’Cain x Deputy Staci Pratt
Word Count: 1656
Summary: The signs of all the pain Jacob had put Deputy O’Cain and Pratt through still lingering in the air of the Whitetail Militia bunker grow to be too much, Lila takes matters into her own hands. What ensues might just be what they both need to get them through the tough times ahead.
Note: I want to thank fc5 birthday bash giftee @far-cry-all-the-time a million times over for having the patience of a saint as I tried to get this out at a reasonable time and forgive me when it’s late. I ended up having more editing and revising then I thought to get it to where I (kinda) liked it. lol Anyway, I hope to god this fic doesn’t disappoint. I hope I did Lila justice, too. She is such a wonderful Dep, and I love her. Big thank you goes to @edensgay as well for putting on this wonderful event for the community. I can’t believe it’s been a year already. This is exactly why I live and breath for this community and I love you all. Hope everyone had a happy #fc5birthdaybash

Pratt sat in his seat in quiet contemplation as what few lights the bunker had hummed their annoying and static tone. For the most part, he was alone in a large room he could only assume was meant to be a common living space, the distant sounds of voices mixed in with the static as the Whitetails that gave him shelter went about their business down distant hallways. On a ratty couch opposite him, Lila his fellow deputy, lay in sleeping. He envied her as his own slumber eluded him, memories of his time in Jacob’s presence bombarded his mind and refused him solace. But all of that quickly dissolved as he watched her face contort as she shifted in place, beads of sweat streaming down her face. Pings of guilt replaced his envy as he remembered that same look from behind the bars of a cage as he stood helplessly watching the effects of Jacob’s ‘conditioning’ take its hold on her. The degradation of the body and mind of the woman he grew fond of, and admittedly thought of intimately more than once, ate at him like an infection.
The weak must be culled… Only the strong survive.
The words pricked at his mind like pins, constantly nagging at him. Weak… Strong… Jacob ‘trained’ her into his definition of the latter. Or at least enough for his ends. Dragging her through the dirt and beat her down to get her there. She was strong, she survived.
And where does that leave him? A man meant to be culled, or should have been, yet here he is.
“Hey,” came a soft voice from the couch, breaking him from his dark thoughts. Looking up from his spot next to the door, Pratt’s eye met the beautiful green gaze looking back at him. Lila gingerly leaned up into a sitting position, her body feeling stiff and sore like she hadn’t slept for weeks. “Did you get any sleep?”
Pratt cleared his throat and looked away, “It’s… It’s been a long night.”
Lila’s lips formed into a thin frown. “Nightmares getting to you, too?”
“Among other things,” Pratt replied in a somber tone without looking back up at her. With a deep inhale, he ran his fingers over his face to wipe away his tiredness. His fingers eventually ran over the scar on the right side of his face. Rook saw the flicker in his eyes as his hand lingered on it for a moment. “Jacob... He took me on one of his hunts weeks back. Once we killed the deer, he had me skin it.” His voice cracked a bit at the end. Pratt’s gaze rose to met Rooks and, for a moment she could sense a flurry of conflicting emotions within it. “Before I could even finish, the deer vanished. No, transformed. It changed into a cougar. I… I couldn’t process what happened. Still can’t. I-I don’t know what to believe anymore, Rook. Even when you found me… I thought you were just a trick of the mind.” His voice trailed off, face twisting into a jaw-clenching frown.
Rook knew the implications of that statement. The thought that Pratt hadn’t slept soundly since their return to the Whitetail bunker tore her apart, but she hated hearing the thoughts that wreaked havoc on his mind keeping him from getting sleep even more.
Rook leaned back in the sofa and ran her hand over her forehead, pushing aside stray hairs from her face. “Fuck.” The word slipped from her lips in a harsh whisper. Her mouth felt dry and her mind at a loss for words. What was she supposed to say? Was there anything she could say? She thought none of this would happen. It shouldn’t have. How did a simple arrest come to this?
With a sigh, Rook stood and stepped toward Pratt, offering her hand to him. He returned her offer a questioning look.
“Come,” she spoke with the softest voice she could muster, gesturing for him to follow her as she grabbed a lantern off the table near the doorway and began making her way through. “We’ve spent too much time already sitting around sulking in this stuffy bunker. I think it’s about time we take a little time to ourselves, get a little fresh air, you know?”
“And go where?” Pratt asked.
“Trust me. I know the perfect place.” Rook replies with a wide grin.

As the pair stepped out of the door of the bunker out into the night, Lila in the lead, the cool night breeze swept down to greet them. A stark change, albeit a welcome one, from the stuffy suffocating warmth of the bunker. Though the moon cast the world around them in dim blue light, the transition from the well-lit hallway they came from was blinding. Fumbling for a moment, Lila turned on the small gas lantern and held it out before her.
“All right then, follow me. It shouldn’t be far from here.” Lila said as she continued forward. Pratt followed closely behind her as she led them up the path that led to the ridge just above the bunkers main door.
Within minutes, the pair arrived at their location. There, near the edge of the ridge line looking out over a good portion of the Whitetail mountains area, was a pair of fold-out chairs nestled next to a small fire pit. A small radio sat at the foot of the chairs on top of a cooler. Rook, without so much as breaking her stride, stepped around one of the chairs, placed the lantern on the cooler beside the radio, and stepped towards the cliff. Her hands found their resting place on her hips and she took a deep breathe in as she took everything in. Curiously, cautiously, Pratt followed suit and took a place beside her.
“What, what are we doing here?” Pratt asked as he shifted from side to side, scanning the darkness around them just outside of the lanterns reach.
Lila places her hand gently on his shoulder, feeling the tense muscles in them as he turned to look back at her. Without so much as a word, she tilts her head and motions to take a look out at what is in front of them. Pratt broke away from his paranoid surveillance and looked out over the cliff side. Out before them was the whole of Hope County’s beautiful landscape, dimly illuminated under the moonlight. Home lights sporadically dotted the forested hills and valleys like Christmas lights. A sight laid out before them that he hadn’t seen in so long. Not since that fateful helicopter ride weeks prior. It was hauntingly familiar yet distinctly different from what he remembered before recent events. Before Jacob; before the cult.
“Eli would pull me out here in weeks leading up to his passing.” The memories of the past few weeks rushed back to her mind, her heart felt so heavy. “Back when I felt alone, stranded, and in the dark. At my lowest. Jacob had taken so much out of all of us. Taken almost all of what we had. Food. Weapons… People. He thought it’d be best to get me out to breath. It was in taking me here that he showed me something that had become so clouded.”
“I just have one question for you,” Lila continued, “When you look out there, what is it that you see?”
“What do I see,” Pratt repeated the question, not quite sure how he wanted to approach the question. “I see Hope County, but it’s… different. A place I once thought I knew, but now I am not so sure. It has changed, Lila. It has become weak. Dying.”
Lila could feel her heart grow heavy with every word he spoke. With all that they have been through, all of the horrors and atrocities that Jacob inflicted on him—on both of them— it was little wonder his view on the world changed. Didn’t hers do the same? Wasn’t it because of her that this all happened in the first place? For a moment, she stood there contemplating over his words and her own thoughts. Pings of guilt and shame poked at her. No, come on now Lila. She thought to herself. This is what you brought us here for wasn’t it?
“You know what I see?” Lila asked as she looked back over the landscape. “People, in spite of the overbearing presence of harm and death, choosing to remain and fight those that would bear that down on them. Together they fight for what they are and what is theirs. A good life, a family, an earnest living. Together.”
“Listen to me, Pratt. You are strong. We are strong, we survived.” Lila said with conviction as she gently placed her hand onto his shoulder.
“What do you mean? I only survived because you rescued me from the bunker.”
“And I only survived that fucking hell hole of a vet center because of you. You risked everything to get me out. I could not have gotten out of that on my own. Jacob is dead because he wasn’t strong enough, he had no one to back him up. Not even his own family…” Tears began to run down Lila’s face as all the emotions she held back began to flow out. “We are strong, we survived together! We are meant for this world. Meant to help it. Together!”
Instinctively, Pratt wrapped his arms around Lila’s shoulders and pulls her close. She belongs to me, Pratt thought. The way she melts at his touch, melts into him. He knew. Her heart, her mind, her strength, all that she is belongs to him. Not to Jacob, or to Joseph, or to anyone else. Just to him, just as much as he belongs to her. Hi, i just wanted to talk about what people have been upset at you for but they haven’t been able to explain it in a clear manner. I’m only aware of two situations: the Jacob Seed headcanons and the Wheaty x Rook story. So, for the headcanons, it’s upsetting to anyone of your readers who might be PoC or gay, like you said, you’re aware that these are supposed to be stuff that make you happy and whereas you might see it (1/2)
as realistic, others might not because there’s not really anything that indicates to Jacob making homophobic or racist. The 2nd issue is that Wheaty is a teenager, so shipping him w/ Rook would be labelled as pedophilia. It’s been unclear as to how old he is exactly but he’s definitely in his teens. There’s also the noncon content you wrote, but I know that I don’t have to explain that to you. Anyway, I hope you have a good day and hopefully, this clears things up. (2/2)
1: I dunno why you’re coming to me with this today. For starters, I haven’t been a part of the fc5 fandom in like 4 months, so none of this is even relevant anymore, but I’ll bite. I already know what some people were upset at me for and I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I just simply don’t give a fuck. I don’t need you to “explain” anything to me and you coming into my inbox and suggesting otherwise just makes you sound passive aggressive and condescending af.
2: What headcanons are you talking about? I can’t recall headcanons that are against poc or people in the lgbt+ community.
3: Wheaty is above the age of 19 during the events of fc5. He’s a war vet and in order to join the military you have to be over the age of 18 and to have access to veteran privileges, you have to have served for varying amounts of time. So no, it’s not paedophilia.
4: I don’t give a fuck about people not liking non-con content; it isn’t for those people. I like it and so do the tonnes of people that always requested it and enjoyed it. I put appropriate warnings on it and if people read further than those warnings even though they knew they weren’t gonna like it, then that’s very much a them problem, not a me problem. Main Verse; FC5
In her youth she was a competitive gymnast and a high school cheerleader. She grew up being close with her grandfather, a WWII sharpshooter who would often reminisce of his time with his buddies and the passion he had to serve and protect. Kaliya was no stranger to the shooting range, as she wanted to follow in her grandfathers footsteps.
Her junior and senior years of high school she attended a school that had a junior officer program. After graduating high school she took a break from school, mostly taking odd jobs to make some money and help her parents out. Despite the desire she had when she was younger to pursue something further in gymnastics, she never really did anything with it after high school. Other than her regular jogging schedule and light weight lifting, she did slow down a bit when it came to athletics.
Her grandmother wanted the family to attend Sunday church services, having always been a woman of faith, even currently, in her old age and poor health she still attends church every Sunday morning. Despite her grandmother, Kaliya’s parents were only casually religious and didn’t push her to be religious if she didn’t want to be. Her grandfather passed away about a year after the Seed’s moved into town and her grandmother moved to live with her oldest son in Washington.
The whole Eden’s Gate shit started to pick up more, they started to be a problem to the community. The whole thing really pissed her off, from John being a problem for her parent’s and their antique shop in Falls End to catching wind of what Jacob had going on in the old veterans center. Kaliya really resents Jacob and what he’s got going on in the Whitetails, especially because her grandfather loved the Veteran Center back when he was alive.
At this time, Kaliya decided to do something, and has been working for the County Sheriff’s Department for a short period of time. When the opportunity to shut these motherfuckers down and stop their reign of bullshit came around, she was quick to volunteer to be on the team to help arrest Joseph Seed.
