Piebald Golden Jackal (Canis aureus) killed in Serbia.
It's possible this animal may be a hybrid with a domestic dog. Hybrids between the two species are well-documented, however a similar-looking piebald jackal culled in Israel was DNA tested and found to contain no trace of domestic dog ancestry, suggesting this colour pattern may also occur naturally in the species.

“When I run over the frightful catalogue of my sins, I cannot believe that I am the same creature whose thoughts were once filled with sublime and transcendent visions of the beauty and the majesty of goodness. But it is even so; the fallen angel becomes a malignant devil. Yet even that enemy of God and man had friends and associates in his desolation; I am alone.”

Close-ups of all my farm fo.x pelts to date. There's plenty more colours I'd love to get someday but don't really have space for any more right now.

If you start a tv channel or an online streaming service with the entire identity being "retro content" I think it should be illegal for you to then decide later to start showing newer shows and the audience should be allowed to sue you for monetary compensation.

Thinking out loud about wing aus and you know I've seen a lot of different things for Bruce from eagles to owls but I'm here to propose something else:
Pigeon wings.
Just think, they're a symbol of cities. Domestic animals that were just let free. They come in so many different colour morphs it wouldn't be far fetched for Bruce to have black wings.
That iconic creaking noise their wings make when they fly, criminals begin to fear that noise never knowing if it's just a bird or the Goddamn Batman.

hi! i really enjoy seeing your thoughts on wyrm biology on my dash, they're an interesting read and it's clear that a lot of thought is put into them
theoretically, would it be possible for them to have morphs like snakes and lizards do? would that kind of thing even matter if they can change their appearance at will? at least in terms of size/shape in pk's case (but i guess that's extra special because it was him changing bodies??)
Oh absolutely! In fact, I'd consider it odd if they didn't have morphs or colour variation, considering how essential that adaptation is to certain habitats. For patterns, I can't really say- I've never put much thought into that beyond their scales being iridescent or metallic-looking with luminescent points, as they are a burrowing species that spends most of their time deep underground and rarely surfaces unless they're bursting from the ground to grab prey- but there is for sure a range of different colour variations, and they'd likely have different concentrations based on where in the wastelands the wyrms settle. I headcanon that most near Hallownest are pale tans/greys/silvers/off-white to match with the terrain there, but there are a good variety of red-phase wyrms out there who do just fine, as well as sables and melanistic morphs. Wyrms that are currently ovulating or carry many clutches/prefer to carry (aka trigger their ovulation cycles repeatedly) will always be darker, as the wyrm estrogen equivalent increases melanin production allows them hide better in their closer-to-the-surface nesting burrows, but it will never be enough to fully obscure their colours, and would fade as the influx of westrogen (wyrm estrogen) returns to pre-breeding levels. PK might even be a leucistic wyrm, given his moniker for being 'pale' while the Blackwyrm was specifically noted for her dark scales, but it could also just be that both were named by bugs and were distinguished as such because those were the only two wyrms they saw. But out in the wastes, there is indeed great variety! You just have to wander very far and be very very lucky to see it, as most wyrms only linger on the surface to bask- or to die.
I do think this would matter, too, since I headcanon that most wyrms are blind (they can see light vs dark with rudimentary photoreceptors but thats about it) and thus would not care very much about what they look like. Natural selection based on colour would probably occur when they were hatchlings, then phase out as they grew bigger and more capable of digging deeper burrows, where they could flee to if caught basking on the surface. Additionally, while PK's transformation proves that they can indeed change their shape at will, it required his old body to die and his new one to be born from a cocoon of his old flesh, which is a pretty drastic transformation- probably not all that convenient if you decide you don't like what shade your scales come in, and probably not accessible to youngling wyrms who haven't yet figured out the extent of their powers. Those would just get picked off by predators before they had a chance

the first guys ever ^ they hold their tails cuz it's just fun they're so cute
little freaks ^ a normal leucistic and melanistic one cuz i also like colour mutations obv WHO DOESNT!!!!
then i also love maned wolves they're like the sisters to servals to me and they're their own special species not very closely related to any other canid which is cool i also love coyotes specifically but wolves are preddy cool too i don't know much about them as much but i will watch any coyote documentary i can and much like foxes things that are considered pests and adapt in unique to urban living are but little angles to me
i also like melanistic kodkods cuz they're like wild herbert and all sharks but especially blacktip reef sharks these are babiess
also like bamboo sharks and nurse sharks. then also deer + orcas + domestic and feral horses + flying foxes which are extra special cuz they're very cute but they also live HERE and scare the dickens out of me when i go outside and they take off it's like a tent flapping in the wind it's crazy. i like tanukis too they're like jelly donuts. i really think most animals are cool and have their own merits and i can appreciate their splenderifousness i find most things cute too i think snakes are like puppies i also think it's cute that shark baby is called a pup that's so true .. and ofc i do like foxes but maybe not as much as people assume LOL i actually like arctic foxes the most☝️ they're so round. i tend to like the scary versions of things too like seals are cute but sea lions rule
