Becchi Ayumi, Untitled, 2023 & 2022

I love the fact that this artist isn't afraid to use colours wherever they see fit. The first piece is filled with details not always decipherable but there is a clear repeated motif: the tree. In fact, the image at the centre appears to be a cut trunk of a tree seen from above. Maybe all the images surrounding it are the many things the tree saw in its life. In the second piece the artist explains in their original post on Instagram that they used a leaflet they got at Nagoya's City museum. At first I thought the leaflet was only used in the right hand page but if you look closely, the head from the figure appears to also have been cut and pasted on its colourfully detailed body.

Seraphina and Jophiel

These two lovely ladies are Seraphina and Jophiel. They're some adopts I got from a friend and another person I'm familiar with. The more I looked at them and thought about them, the more I got attached. I have a big backlog right now and other priorities, but y'all. I want to draw so much artwork of them. You have no idea. They are girlfriends and I love them. I'm still working on developing them and their story, but I have a rough idea. Seraphina is an up-and-coming idol in the angelic realm and in space. She'd perform on Earth, but. Having four arms and four eyes and not being able to easily hide that would be terrifying to a lot of people. She's the daughter of a cupid and an accountant. I imagine the look and terror of an angel's biblically accurate form depends on their innate magic and power. I also imagine that how intimidating someone's biblically accurate form equals desirability. The reason I'm bringing this up is because Seraphina's mother (she's the accountant) is beautifully horrifying. When she tunes down, its incredibly hard to see her face. Her face just isn't visible in hers and her husband's wedding photos. Seraphina loves and admires both of her parents, and her parents are really proud of her and how far she's come. Jophiel used to be a Power. Her parents were past Powers and they wanted Jophiel to continue that legacy. In fact, she was named after one of the Archangels of old. However, the role wasn't very compatible for her, so she switched to working as a sports model and fitness coach. Because of this, she has a really strained relationship with her family. She tends to come off as cold, uncaring, and incredibly stoic, which has ended a few of her relationships. She and Seraphina were roommates before they started dating. Jophiel is also quite tall. She loves Seraphina's hugs and cuddles because of her arms.  Seraphina was designed by wanderstar39 and Jophiel was designed by Sinomis. Fun fact, I used to only draw portraits for a very very long time because I was completely overwhelmed by the idea of drawing bodies. Now, I’m overwhelmed with the idea of drawing portraits on bodies😅 So,I decided to draw an old photo of myself and I’m actually proud of how it turned out. Cure Feather!" Angel, aka Cure Feather, is one of the members of Yume Yume Precure and the resident pink cure. I imagine he's one of the two midseason cures, or he appeared as a cliffhanger before the midseason. He took care of Omelet, one of the fairies trying to find the Precures who were to stop the Sleeping End. Omelet was stranded from Hat due to an attack on the pair by the antagonists, and he was found by Angel. He is also one of the high school students in the group, along with Penelope and Circi. Angel has been close friends with Penelope (Cure Comet) for years, and Peace is inspired by his dancing in ballet. However, Angel is the only child from a wealthy but restrictive family, and although he's also in archery, being in ballet is one of his few freedoms. He is allowed to be friends with Penelope, and Peace trusts him enough to walk her home from school when Penelope can't. Although sheltered, Angel is a very expressive and sensitive sort of person who cares deeply about those he is close to. His Dream Jar transformation mainly provides him strengthened ranged attacks, an ability to float and glide, and increased accuracy and speed. Although he is the only boy of the group, Angel does help a lot with supporting Peace and figuring out strategies for how to defeat the antagonists. He is also more perceptive than he tends to appear, similarly to Penelope. With Angel, his design just. Got more colorful and more extra when I was tweaking him. I do enjoy drawing Angel in pinks (its a contributing reason as to why he seemed more fitting as a pink cure to me compared to Peace). His attacks and background having elements from ballet was inspired by Princess Tutu, which is one of my favorite magical girl anime. um mini desenho por dia

No meio de um turbilhão de compromissos da vida, eis que resolvo, mais uma vez, cumprir um desafio de desenho - rindo de nervoso.

Eu não sei explicar, mas parece que se não for assim não vivo?!? Aliás, se não fosse isso, talvez eu nem tivesse vontade de escrever.

Bem, vamos lá!

Não sei se chamo de desafio, série, ou diário, pra falar a verdade, porque ao meu ver é uma coisa mais pessoal, pois não tem dia pra começar e a ideia é completar quantos dias você se propôs a fazer.

Eu me inspirei na Keiko, que iniciou em janeiro do ano passado. Ela usou o formato calendário e eu não tinha visto ninguém fazendo assim antes.

Eu ia fazer um caderno novo que deixaria exclusivamente pra esse desafio, mas me enrolei pra fazer aí resolvi não complicar mais minha vida e estou usando um caderno que já tinha para estudos em geral.

Não tem regras e não criei nenhuma além de fazer um mini desenho por dia, durante o ano de 2024, e é só isso mesmo.

Vou usar materiais que der vontade e desenhar o que vier a cabeça: pode ser relacionado a algo do meu dia ou qualquer coisa que quiser mesmo e couber nesse mini espaço.

E por quê um mini desenho?

Porque é muito mais fácil não desistir e conseguir pelo menos alguns minutinhos no dia para desenhar, ou até m mesmo 1 minuto que seja, fazer um rabisco simples e rapidinho. Tudo vale.

E por quê desenhar todos os dias?

Pra criar o hábito, não se deixar "enferrujar", e, pessoalmente, porque eu consegui finalmente evoluir meu desenho no ano passado para o caminho que desejo seguir, voltei a desenhar com constância e quero continuar a produção e a evolução nesse ano e achei que começar esse desafio no início do ano me ajudaria a iniciar o ano produzindo e não na preguiça. Pode parecer pouco, mas faz a cabeça trabalhar, pensar espaço e cor, mesmo em um dia que eu não tenha trabalhado em estudos maiores.

Aqui um vídeo que fiz pra me incentivar e levar adiante, quem sabe não te inspira também.

Por enquanto, meu mês está assim. Estou usando caneta finalizadora, aquarela e lápis de cor.

Na lateral estou escrevendo palavras-chave do que desenhei só pra quando eu for revisitar me lembrar. Por enquanto as anotações estão meio literais, mas as vezes pode ter alguma coisa ou outra que eu queira detalhar, alguma ideia que queira desenvolver ou mesmo só lembrar de um momento, já que acaba se tornando um diário, um journal, ou como quiser chamar.

A ideia é fazer uma postagem mensal pra mostrar os desenhos do mês por aqui, mas no Instagram tenho postado diariamente nas histórias e estou deixando salvos em destaque.

Era pra ser um post rápido e virou textão. Eu não penso nisso tudo quando tenho as ideias, mas escrever me ajuda a racionalizar e as coisas passam a ter mais sentido e compartilhar é jogar para o universo e contribuir com a inspiração de outras pessoas.
