This is a collaboration for @carry-on-big-bang where @theearlgreymage has written the story and I made art.
In Chapter Two, Hades leaves the Underworld for the sunshine of the Mortal Realm. I loved how in Lore Olympus there was such a visual difference between the two places and I tried to capture that—and also the peace that Simon finds there.

Summary:
Summary: We’ve all read of how soulmates can find each other; the red string of fate, the wrist timer, finally seeing colour, the shared song…but what about the first person to find their soulmate? The creator of that original soulmate spell?
Simon Snow is having zero luck developing an 8th year spell. So he’s elated when he casts “Threads of Fate,” and something actually happens. But when the spell creates a thread that leads him right to his nemesis, he’s not so sure what he’s created is actually a good thing.
When trying again results in everyone in the World of Mage having a string that ties them to someone else, he wonders: did his spell tie him and Baz together because they are fated to fight to the death? Or could there be another reason?

I hold still, unable to break the moment.
He looks extra golden, as though glowing with some kind of inner light.
A small smile plays about his mouth, a fondness coming into his eyes.
It’s too tender, too intimate for what we are to each other—or, what we should be.

“Don’t make me say that again.” He mumbles, looking down at his eyes, avoiding eye contact at all costs.
But I need confirmation. I need to know what he actually said. “No, I need you to repeat it. You see, I must have had a momentary blimp in my sanity because I thought you said that you thought we should date.” I force out a dead, humourless chuckle.
“Fake dating.” He corrects.

And more serious snippet below (although not much more serious):
I blink and Tyra’s back on stage, flexing her biceps, pink lips kissing them while she confesses, “I know I’ve got a big ego,” she winks and it lands with a punch to my solar plexus, “I really don’t know why it’s such a big deal, though.”
I manage to peel myself off the floor and crawl back to the safety of Gareth’s booth. He’s laughing at my pain, the bastard, while Tyra feigns ennui to the tune of, “chore, chore, chore.”
With a sigh, I slump over the edge of the booth and rest my chin in my hands. (“I want more, more, more.”)

WIP Wednesday!
thanks for the tag @forabeatofadrum !!
i!! have!! been!! writing!!!!!
so i finally feel like i have something to share this week. once again from my cobb fic, which i am just so so excited to share with you all.
I babble on into silence, as Baz neither stops me nor interrupts me. He doesn’t say anything for a long time, and I trace back through my speech, wondering what it is I said this time to fuck things up.
He lets out a long breath, before finally asking, in a tight voice, “Why are you doing this, Snow?”
“Doing what?” I cock my head at him, trying to read his unreadable expression.
“Doing this.” He waves his hand about in a way that tells me absolutely nothing, but I expect is supposed to tell me a whole lot. “Trying to be all—friendly with me.”
It’s my turn to stare at him for a moment, wondering if he’s actually being serious.
