Imagine just how funny a Discworld's take on NFT would be. Imagine CMOT Dibbler selling badly-drawn pictures of the Librarian via the clacks.

"You're out late, Mr. Dibbler," he said, politely.
"Ah, Mr. Worde. Times is hard in the hot sausage trade," said Dibbler.
"Can't make both ends meat, eh?" said William. He couldn't have stopped himself for a hundred dollars and a cart load of figs.

With the events of Night Watch in mind, CMOT Dibbler writing the Discworld equivalent of "Gone With The Wind" in Moving Pictures is either brilliant foreshadowing, an astonishing coincidence, or incredible attention to detail on PTerry's part. Given the fact that one of the central characters of the penultimate Discworld novel is the son of a character who appeared in a single novel twenty two years earlier, I'd say it's the latter.

So, hear me out...I just reread Moving Pictures shortly after watching King Kong for the first time. Now, I can't unsee the image of Jack Black as CMOT Dibbler, and I want a movie adaptation with him in it right now immediately.

A dwarf tentatively raised his hand.
"'Scuse me?"
"Yes?" said Soll.
"Why is it all Mr. Dibbler's films are set against the background of a world gone mad?" said the dwarf.
Soll's eyes narrowed. "Because Mr. Dibbler," he growled, "is a very observant man."
