Akin to the "Saloon Has A Basement" post I love but can't find...

Layouts that "Make Sense"

please note there are good reasons the game looks as it does. CA did great!

Here's the area I'm focused on

Firstly! The Clinic / Harvey's Apartment

The furniture will not match but the walls layout makes more sense being arranged this way to fit the shape of the building!

Does the Kitchen in the Attic make a super lot of sense? No, but perhaps his bedroom is actually swapped.

As I said, furniture isn't probably accurate, but the rooms themselves make sense!

Next! The General Store / Pierre, Caroline, and Abigail's Home

All the buildings are far more vertical than shown in the game, so I figured out a layout that makes more sense to me.

Most public areas are on the lower floor and the greenhouse is unfortunately most likely also there.

Despite my genuine annoyance, it makes more sense for there to be an actual apartment layout with a kitchen upstairs.

The bedroom (and perhaps shrine) downstairs was likely intended to be a storeroom originally (like at the Saloon)

I also found a way to address the "useless" balcony! Abigail is an adult so her having an apartment upstairs makes sense.

If you have your own ideas for alternate layouts please share!

Using visuals rather than writing it out may actually work to my detriment, but I thought it'd be fun to see it in action!

aww thank u so much !! i actually collated a few resources for my friends about bookbinding so u r in luck ⭐:)

but before all that, i want to mention the most important thing and it is to always get the permission of the author of the fic you're wanting to bind first and to never print any art related or not to that fic without the artist's permission !!!!! let's keep it respectful in these streets yeah? BUT printing your own art though.. that's a slay 🤞🏽

ok hehe to the fun stuff yippeeeee

bookbinding tools & materials (beginner friendly) - super helpful + in depth, i recommend starting with this one to really get a good idea of the entire process (she specializes in journals though so it doesn't include printing process or anything like that!)

14 helpful hints before getting started - very very useful hacks that will probably save you a lot of mistakes in the long run, also i love this man (one thing i have to mention though is that paper grain is not entirely important unless you're looking for a more advanced bind)

how to bind fanfic tiktok series - this is a good one that has a step by step guide which includes the typesetting + printing process

tutorial focused videos

DIY book press - very useful + efficient, but if you can't be bothered to make this (like me oops) you can just use really heavy books or weights

DIY binding cradle - essential tool to punch holes in your signatures, honestly saved me money and also my life, once again i love this man where would i be without this tutorial

french link stitch - easy to follow, has some good sewing tips too!

weaver’s knot - important hack, you don't want your thread to be too long when sewing it's a nightmare

hardcover case binding - good tutorial on hardcover but this one is flatback - it's still fine to follow though if you switch the spine to card stock to give it more flexibility especially if it's a thick book

whew, sorry for the long ask i hope this is helpful enough ;; another important thing is to be patient and have fun !! try to enjoy the process especially bc it takes SO long but trust it's very worth it <3 there's also a lot of materials and tools so pick whichever is the most accessible to you ok byeeee

Whatever you do on Doctor Who, whatever technology or futurism you're putting on on screen, it's always going to look like it was made now. And it should, you know. Science fiction in the sixties looks like it was made in the sixties - seventies, eighties. The worst and most stupid thing you can do is got into a meeting and say "Let's make it timeless!".

For a start, why? I think these programs are a record of the era in which they were made. And they should be. You should show that off. Plus, you can't fight it. That will creep it in aywhere. There's not such thing as a timeless design, ever.

I think we have to celebrate that.

Captain is a very Not sane Pirate King, who set out to rescue their kidnapped friend and later got lost down a path of crazed bloodlust.

last night i saw the effect which is succession writer lucy prebble’s play starring taylor russell and paapa essidu and not only is it the greatest theater experience of my life i cannot stop thinking about it i am buzzing from it wow good art is so good for the soul huh
