i saw you reblog the bingo meme and realized i wanted to see you do it for every single cloud ship. your tweet about the epic battle for his hole and soul has been stuck in my head since i saw it. if thats too much uhhhhh pick one?

aerith/cloud:

the thing about aerith and cloud is that they are not fixing eachother's issues even a little bit but they are having so much fun that it's hard to fault them. they have really depraved sex about it (positive)

sephiroth/cloud:

this is a scuzzy dubcon bodice ripper about a serial killer who traps you in his basement and hypnotizes you into repopulating the hive but it is canon. their souls are entwined on every plane so they can smack eachother with big swords. idk it's disgusting but it compels me. they have really depraved sex about it (negative)

tifa/cloud:

this is my number one forever ship unfortunately. I'm obsessed with how bad they are for eachother but also how much they are now the only people capable of fixing eachother. huge "but they were both bottoms" energy but I believe they'll pull through and break out the double-ended dildo

barret/cloud:

this is the only good cloud ship. it's just sweet. I want cloud to be marlene's new dad. I want barret to cradle cloud in his arms as they enjoy a tender moment together and learn to relax their machismo and embrace their touchy-feely sides. I want cloud to be lured out of his internet tough guy routine by barret's enthusiasm and compassion. it's just NICE. it's just SWEET. IN ADVENT CHILDREN THEY ARE ESSENTIALLY CO-PARENTING

Once every six months for the last 15 years I get the urge to write a Clephiroth (or whatever they call it now) time travel reboot fic, but I can never decide on the plot. Your art is throwing me headlong into that urge again a solid three months ahead of schedule. Kudos.

wooo, look at me, finally getting back into playing ffviir XDD

have finished chapter 7, and even tho i want to get ch 8 done as well (bc aerithhhhhh, i loooove you bby girl!!!!), i’m stopping here bc i’m too tired rn, and i want to be able to enjoy aerith to the fullest, and not have my delight be dulled by exhaustion XD

anyway, there’s not much to say on ch 7, as it was mostly just working your way through the reactor to get to the boss fight. but here are a few story related notes:

- avalanche......you guys, you literally made a public announcement that you were going to bomb reactor 5, y’all have no right to be shocked that shinra was lying in wait for you

- the way the remake handled the meeting with president shinra was a really cool update, bc it never did make much sense to me that this super important guy, who keeps monologuing about how avalanche isn’t worth his time....took the time out of his busy schedule to meet with them in person. so having it just be a hologram of him works a lot better, imo

- it’s interesting that president shinra also brought up mako degradation, as i’m pretty sure that crisis core introduced that concept. so i guess they really are going to be taking the compilation canon into account

(which again....just makes me so curious as to how nibelheim’s going to go down....but at the very least, the remake did do a good job at recreating tifa’s breakdown scene)

- also interesting that heidegger is planning on selling the public on the idea that avalanche is allying with wutai insurrectionists....on the one hand, it doesn’t make much sense to try to fire ppl up about a war with wutai, bc like......y’all already won that war?? and yuffie’s whole thing in ffvii is that she hates that her nation has been reduced to a glorified amusement park by shinra. but then again, i suppose this will work as a blow towards avalanche’s relatability, by making them out to be plants by those icky foreigners to destabilize the country for their revenge, or something

- aerith!!!! she’s so beautiful, i love her so much 💖💖💖

- and on a final note, this exchange amused me a lot:

Nobody wants to know but here’s how I feel about the main (Cloud) ships of the FFVII Fandom:

Clessie: Worst name (but not as bad as the old days of Clephiroth), sounds like a sex move. I don’t like Jessie, so obviously it’s gonna rate low. 0/10

Cloti: Boring. They work better as best friends. They are very special to one another, but not romantically involved. 2/10

Don’t make me write Cl*phiroth, please don’t (Sefikura): Extremely interesting dynamic, but after everything in canon it’s very hard for me to take it as a serious suggestion for a relationship. It’s a manipulative relationship that will never end well for Cloud. 3/10

Clarret: Great banter and dynamic, but I don’t think either would want a romantic relationship with the other. 5/10

Zerith: Nice in a sickly sweet kind of way. They almost seem too perfect for eachother. It would’ve been nice if they ever got more depth together. 6/10

Clerith: Cute, pretty sad. I’m biased since I like Aerith just a little more than Tifa, but I still think her and Cloud work better as a romantic pairing than Cloud and Tifa. 7/10

Clack/Zakkura: God tier. They work very well together, and everything they went through, especially in the labs and on the run, created a truly strong friendship and/or possible romantic relationship. Also great for AUs. 10/10

Edit: Aerti: Also god tier. Very sweet, very cute. Pretty ladies deserve each other. Amazing supportive relationship. 10/10

Would you be up to telling me why the Sephiroth/Cloud pairing is called Sefikura? Is it for a specific scenario, or just a pairing name that's been grandfathered in?

No problem!! It’s just a pairing name that uses the Japanese spelling of their names instead. Sephiroth spelled in katakana is more like Sefirosu, and Cloud is Kuraudo. So mash the names together (like people always do for pairings, lol) and you get Sefikura.

There were other pairing names that people used to use a lot more in the English-speaking part of the fandom, like Clephiroth or SephCloud, but for some reason we’ve ended up leaning more towards Sefikura in the recent years. I don’t really know why, but that’s the origin of it, at least. :)

(In a very similar vein, Zack/Cloud also has the Japanese pairing name of Zakkura, from Zakkusu and Kuraudo. Clack is used more in our corner of the fandom still, but I have seen stuff tagged with both, and if you were ever searching on Pixiv or other Japanese-centric sites Zakkura is what you’d want to look for in those cases. ^^)
