24 culturele organisaties in Breda kunnen in 2024 rekenen op de eenjarige subsidie cultuur. Het subsidieplafond van de eenjarige subsidies in 2024 is dit jaar verhoogd met € 350.000 euro door de inzet van resterende coronamiddelen en vastgesteld op € 1.034.285. Ondanks de verhoging van het budget is het niet mogelijk alle subsidieaanvragen volledig toe te kennen. Het beschikbare budget is naar rato toegekend. Wethouder Marike de Nobel (cultuur): “De culturele sector in Breda ontwikkelt zich in de volle breedte en zoekt steeds meer de samenwerking op. Dat zien we ook nu weer in het aantal en soort aanvragen. Met de toekenning van deze subsidies ontstaat er een mix van innovatieve organisaties die met hun culturele aanbod een zeer divers publiek weten te bereiken met hun activiteiten. Ik kijk al uit naar alles wat er komen gaat in 2024.” Eenjarige subsidie culturele organisaties De eenjarige subsidie cultuur is een subsidie voor het organiseren van activiteiten. Culturele organisaties, professionele kunsten en organisaties binnen verschillende disciplines van Urban Sports & Culture konden hiervoor tot 1 december 2023 via de gemeente Breda een subsidie aanvragen. Organisaties die deze eenjarige subsidie dit jaar ontvangen zijn: Stichting Popwaarts, Belcrum Beach, Zuidland, Bosse Nova (Kunstbende), Stichting Body of Art, Classic Young Masters, CLIB, De Cultuurkantine, Dansnest, Circusfestival Stek, Breda Beats, Facilitaire Theaterwerkplaats Breda, Het ZuidLand( stichting Pruik en Zonen), IDFX, KOP, POB, Sound of Europe, Stichting B15 (Bühne), Stichting Beeldmakers Breda , Stichting Cultuur Tijdens het Middaguur, Stichting Skatepark Breda (Pier15), Witte Rook/stichting Electron, Stichting Breda's Festival Orkest en Art . Selectiecriteria De aanvragen moeten voldoen aan een aantal voorwaarden. Een aanvrager moet bijvoorbeeld gevestigd zijn in Breda of samenwerken met andere organisaties in Breda. Daarnaast moet er sprake zijn van andere inkomstenbronnen naast de aangevraagde subsidie. Ook wordt de aanvrager beoordeeld op zakelijke en artistiek-inhoudelijke kwaliteit of op het faciliteren van activiteiten voor de cultuursector. Nieuw beleid, nieuwe regelingen Eind 2023 is het nieuwe cultuurbeleid 2025-2040 vastgesteld door de Bredase gemeenteraad. In dit nieuwe beleid komt de eenjarige subsidieregeling niet terug. Vanaf 2025 bestaan er enkel meerjarige (twee- en vierjarige) subsidies en activiteitensubsidies. Het budget gaat over naar die meerjarige regelingen zodat meer organisaties hiervoor een aanvraag kunnen indienen. Die langere termijn zorgt voor meer duurzame relaties met en duidelijkheid bij organisaties. Naast de twee- en vierjarige subsidies blijft er in het nieuwe beleid ook ruimte voor activiteiten en projecten. De daarbij behorende subsidieregelingen worden in 2024 verder uitgewerkt. GEZIEN | Cheptel Aleïkoum’s Brass-Circus-Band: Circa Tsuica (FR) speelt MAINTENANT OU JAMAIS Afgelopen zaterdag 28 oktober trotseerde ik het herfstweer voor een avondje Theater Op De Markt in Neerpelt. Dit circusfestival, dat al aan zijn 10de editie toe is,brengt een selectie van Vlaams en internationaal circus. Enkele van de getoonde voorstellingen werden gecreëerd in de circuswerkplaats. Uit een breed en divers programma is het altijd moeilijk kiezen. Nu of nooit, geniet dus mee van mijn keuze. Al genoten we ook van het ‘gratis’ aanbod met een stop bij de tent van ‘De Stijle Want’. Noteer intussen alvast 9-12 augustus 2018, voor een zomerse editie in Hasselt.
