idk if this has been documented before but at least in seasons 8-10 the bounty sleeping setup is all of them in the same room. and assuming off of colors we have:
to the right it’s nya furthest back, she is next to kai, and kai is next to zane
on the back left is cole, then jay, then lloyd.
just thought the order was interesting!
(imo more canon evidence for cole and jay being best friends and zane and kai being best friends)

this is like slightly more personal than i normally am on tumblr but oh well.
as someone who deals with panic attacks, dude they are handling lloyd’s visions and panic attacks so well.
the whole thing of rontu telling him that he needs to learn to be okay with it and not be afraid of them, and then lloyd is just insistent that he needs to stop them from happening at all. that’s so realistic.
lloyd says out loud how terrifying they are. that he’s scared. that he’s anxious because he doesn’t know when they will happen and that only makes it more scary.
he’s worried about not being present enough to be a leader because they just ‘shut him down’.
the fact that no one is telling him to just get over it and that it’s not a big deal. all of his friends are doing their best to support him and tell him that they still trust him.
panic attacks are scary. and even when you get used to the actual panic attacks, the fear of having another one almost becomes worse.
i really didn’t think that this season would impact me that much, but they’ve done such a great job. thank you ninjago writers, for putting this kind of stuff into dragons rising and taking it seriously. i know i’m not the only one who feels very seen and understood through this season.

do you ever think about how truly hilarious it is that i live my life this emotionally invested and obsessed with in a kids show about lego plastic ninja
like i completely recognize that it’s the funniest thing ever to be analyzing this show like it’s literature and making sad and symbolic art for it.
doesn’t mean i’m going to stop of course,, but yes i do have self awareness i know full well that this is insane behavior

ok wait i want to talk about the whole ‘kai gave up his childhood to take care of nya’ vs ‘no in canon nya was the one looking out for kai’
bc i don’t think it makes sense for either of these to be true?
kai was the one running the whole blacksmith shop, he was doing his best to provide for them all the way up to season 1. i think obviously kai took care of nya when she was too young to do things for herself, and that he definitely took on a parental role bc he’s what 2 years older than her? as a kid that’s a lot!
but do we really think nya, hyper independent nya, would sit back and let kai slave away for her when she could do things for herself? i’m sure she was trying to get kai to let her take care of herself as soon as she was able to!
nya would never just let kai do everything for her, and kai would never allow his younger sister to be the one providing for the both of them.
and throughout the seasons they’ve barely shown to have an a huge younger sister older brother dynamic, they view each other as equally capable of taking care of themselves.
i feel like at the end of the day, they were just kids looking out for one another however they could.

here’s some in progress pics for the thumbnail art i made for @parachutingkitten ‘s video essay! and a explanation of the design process :)
i sent her the first one to give an idea of a composition and designs. she liked the layout but wanted different expressions for harumi and pixal which i thought was a good idea as well
so second concept art was sent with a loose sketch to get a better idea of what it would look like and to update the expressions! she told me that looked good and i sent over loose colored design for approval.
she liked the skin tones and colors overall, but wanted pixal to have glowing green eyes, change nya to her season 10 suit, and wanted me to incorporate more red if possible. (which i added to pixal and nya). i also asked if i could make harumi’s hair more white and she gave me the go ahead!
after those notes i cleaned up the lineart, finalized colors, made the changes she requested, and sent over the final design!! which is what was used for the video :)
was a lovely process and she was great to work with :) i had a ton of fun working on this and thought you guys might want to see the stages it went through!
