i didnt watch unknown as it was airing bc i knew it would consume me so i decided to binge it all today. i was correct. it has consumed me.

#i am so unwell #and the thing is there is no specific moment or ep i can point to or rewatch to get out out of my system #there is something about the all consuming atmosphere of the show that’s so dense and heavy it’s impossible to escape it I don’t know how #and i find it incredible how they managed to established that atmosphere and built it so well and reached these peaks of emotion that you’d #think would break all that tension but it just returns 10-fold #like this is how you do storytelling this is how you plot a 12 episode drama #bc you get the peak in ep 6 that is the crux of the story getting revealed but you’re only halfway #there’s still so much story to go and they show all of it #they show that this is a thing that takes time and thought and it perfectly demonstrates how stuck in his ways wei qian is #and i find it incredible how both the actors were able to convey the passing of time and their growing up through their performance you can #really feel how wei yuan matures and how what’s perceived as this childish crush or obsession never leaves bc it was never that it was #always more serious and concrete but in his maturity he can show that #and there’s something so crushing about watching wei qian i swear i choked up so many times watching this show bc they both got to me so bad #but wei qian’s story and his outlook on life is so universal and so true to that older brother role that so many people have #i am rambling so bad i just wanna like… exist in the vibe of this show forever #bc the heaviness of it makes you feel the weight lift in the moments of joy it’s beautiful #unknown

thinking about lucifer post-cage, in pieces from it because nothing could come out of that isolation whole, begging sam to let him in. and it doesn’t sound like a voice, obviously, it’s a whine of tv static and the creak of a window opening and crunching glass spilled on the floor and a knock on something hollow and the last echo in a cave before it’s all silent again. but sam hears him, and he hears him saying, help me help me help me. you spend a couple million years in a locked basement and remember more words than that, and then you can talk. day in, day out, everything sam hears is lucifer, all the rumbling, hissing, coughing, crackling noises of the world, lucifer’s in them. no vessel means that all he can do is surround sam (is it suffocating? yes. lucifer would like to be suffocated. he would like something, anything, to press itself so close to him that he can’t breathe, but nothing does, so he does it to sam instead.)

a wounded animal. and sam is so, so human. he can’t just leave lucifer like that, in pain, not after weeks trying to block him out. weeks where lucifer just got more desperate, louder, screaming at sam because he couldn’t tell if sam heard him at first (if sam was even real, if he was even free at all.)

he’s got to let him in. if he can’t do anything else right, maybe he can stop one being from suffering. just one.

#lets him in and lucifer. is not gentle. gentleness does not survive hell. but he loves sam. chokes him with it but loves him all the same.#tries not to hurt him (can’t see all the ways he is but the ones he does. the ones he understands. he tries not to. he tries.)#sam catatonic on the floor for a week straight while the devil tries to settle inside him and he tries to. help isn’t really the right word.#it’s more like soothe. while lucifer slowly learns from him how their nerve endings work.#the first thing they do is drag themselves across the floor. drag. lucifer hasn’t figured out how to walk yet.#but. crawl on his belly? he can do that. sam helps. hands over lucifer’s at the controls. moving them forward inch by inch.#until they reach the small bathroom beside sam’s room. curl inside it. cut themselves on broken glass from the mirror lucifer shattered when #sam said yes.#cutting their palms up lifting shards high enough to look at themselves.#and they stay like that for another few days. at least. the amount of effort it takes just to see themselves is tremendous.#lucifer spn #sam winchester #spn #samifer

#covid #life of sponty #ive been sick since i got back home on 12th #infected probably 1 to 3 days before that #so im coming up on 2 weeks of covid #and right now the worst symptom remaining is the fatigue and exhaustion #i got up and showered and sat at my desk for 30mins and now I'm so exhausted i have to go back to bed #it's effort to stroke the cat #the other day i did a small physical exertion and afterwards was so intensely tired it tooo about 6 hours of recovery #just to be able to lift small objects without dropping them #shits fucked bruh #also I'm getting the classic taste fuckery and bitter and alkaline flavours are literally making me choke #it's wild #desperately hoping it doesn't last because i really dont want to lose onions forever #i love onions #i was scared for a second that I'd lost mango too but it turns out it's just the mango skin flavour. the flesh is fine #cough was only monstrous for like a day #rest of the time it's not been any worse than ive had from normal nasty coughs. pretty manageable #the fatigue is wack though #I've never been this weak before #it's kind of fascinating from an authorial perspective #this is going to be useful experience for the writing banks
