Colours of Spring - Light Pink
Well, what do you know, I actually did pick up the camera! :)
Took a few pictures of the nearby cherry blossoms, although my phone says they're plum blossoms. Either way, they are very pretty.
The annoying thing is, I had some trouble with my new bifocal glasses, hard to read the settings through the viewfinder. I'm going to have to find a way around that, getting old is not fun :(

And so spring has come to my country. It's warm at last and full of fresh green. Trees and shrubs are blooming. Pink and white blossom visited by bees and butterflies are so eye-catching that I feel tempted to take a lot of photos. And after many days of cold and rain it's very refreshing to take a walk in the sunshine, breathing in the delicate scent of white blossom.

He's back! This time we even got a few pictures from the kitchen window through the shutters, and as you can see he is definitely, exultantly, exuberantly PACKING himself with the blackthorn blossoms & smearing them all over his beak in the process. He flitted around his buffet for about half an hour, so we got a great view -- easily the best & clearest I've had of a bullfinch. My hedge planting plan is succeeding & I'm a great landscape engineer. As usual, s/o to my Viva Piñata career & its formative influence on my gardening.
#I hope this becomes something we can expect in the spring#within reason#bullfinches are welcome to have all the sloes#but he was also eating the cherry plum blossoms and#I would like to have SOME plums left to eat please#one bird can't do too much harm#so he can have all he wants#but once his friends get wind of this#-- which they definitely will when he shows up with that mess on his face --#my plum-eating future may be at risk#the hedge plants are a ways away from the 'real' plum tree so maybe the birds will get stuffed in the hedge & leave the tree alone#incidentally his name is Brian#Over hartside#bullfinch
