Liz Cheney is an anti-Trump pro-democracy Republican. Kari Lake is a rabidly pro-Trump conspiracy nutcase who was the Republican candidate for governor of Arizona.
Cheney’s political committee spent over $500,000 for political ads to attack Lake and Mark Finchem – another unhinged pro-Trump fanatic who was running to be Arizona’s top election official.
Lake was defeated in the November 8th election by Democrat Katie Hobbs who had been endorsed by Cheney.
Finchem also lost.
After Hobbs was declared the winner, Cheney trolled Lake.

Republican Rep. Liz Cheney said Saturday that she would be willing to campaign for Democrats as she criticized her party's acceptance of candidates who deny the results of the 2020 election.
“Yes,” Cheney, of Wyoming, said simply when asked whether she’d be willing to stump for Democrats — the first time she has said so explicitly.
Cheney made the remark in a discussion at the Texas Tribune Festival in Austin while talking about Arizona gubernatorial candidate and election denier Kari Lake.
Cheney, who has been a vocal critic of former President Donald Trump, said “partisanship has to have a limit” and mentioned Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who has said he will campaign for Lake.
"He’s demonstrated that he’s somebody who has not bought into the toxin of Donald Trump — but he campaigned recently for Kari Lake, who’s an election denier, who is dangerous,” Cheney said.
"That’s the kind of thing we cannot see in our party. We cannot see an accommodation like that, and I think it’s very important that we be clear about that,” Cheney said.
Asked specifically whether she would campaign for Katie Hobbs — Lake’s Democratic opponent — Cheney said, “I am going to do everything I can to make sure that Kari Lake is not elected.”
Cheney is on her way out of Congress after she lost the Republican primary to a Trump-backed challenger in August.
Youngkin defended campaigning for Lake at the Texas Tribune Festival on Friday. “I am comfortable supporting Republican candidates,” he said. “And we don’t agree on everything. I have said that I firmly believe that Joe Biden was elected President.”
Cheney declined Saturday to offer many details about her own plans, including whether she will run for President.
She also did not disclose much about plans of the House Committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, of which she is one of two Republican members.
The House Committee is set to return Wednesday for its latest hearing.
Cheney did say that she does not think the Committee's hearings will conclude this week.
Chairman Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., said last week that unless something else develops it will be the last, “but it’s not in stone, because things happen.”
“We don’t anticipate that it will be the last hearing,” Cheney said.

I wouldn't say angst, but it's in regards to the reader's safety which leaves Reader to snap at Rogue because she can take care of herself, which causes him to even question that she trusts him.

You and Rogue had been dating for a few months by the time the honeymoon phase seemingly ended. The two of you began to bicker here and there about trivial things, mostly. The one major thing you two had bickered about, however, was his hovering. You felt annoyed at the fact Rogue would always seem to hide in the shadows watching over you. You were a more than capable wizard yourself and it almost felt like a slap in the face to you that he still felt the need to watch over you.
One particular day and countless bickers later, your short fuse had burst. The words flew out of your mouth before you were able to stop it.
"I've had it with you, Rogue Cheney. That's it, I'm done.."
The words hit their mark, all right. Rogue stormed off wordlessly, leaving you alone to similarly stew in your own anger.
It wasn't until later that evening that you realized things were serious. He'd still not returned from wherever he'd gone off to. You debated going to look for him, beginning to get dressed when you heard a faint *ping of a text message coming through.
"Rogue," you thought to yourself, rushing to the phone. Disappointment flooded through your body when you realized it was only Sting.
You groaned and threw your phone to the side, hating that he was right. Once you were finished getting dressed, you headed out the door of your dorm and toward the once place you knew Rogue frequented whenever he wanted to get away and clear his mind.
Sure enough, you found your dragon slayer sitting at the edge of the lake, staring out into the fading light.
"I… I didn't mean what I said earlier," you said quietly. "I never should've said it."
Rogue didn't even bother acknowledging you, barely giving you a shrug in response.
"I mean it, Ro. I'm sorry."
"Yeah, well, you did. What are we even doing, yn?" His carmine eyes turned toward you. "You clearly don't trust me, so why shouldn't we just end things?"
Tears welled in your eyes. Shaking your head, you knelt down next to Rogue.
"That's not true," you replied. "I do trust you. It just feels like you are the one who doesn't trust me, when you follow and hover over me all the time." You flinched when Rogue pulled away from your touch.
"I don't think you quite understand what trust means, yn," Rogue said darkly. "I trust you more than anything. What I don't trust is all of the people you fight head on with no regard to your safety. They could kill you and you don't give a fuck about your own life."
The words spilled out of Rogue's mouth as if a dam had burst. You listened quietly as he continued.
"I care, though. I wanted a future with you, you know. I know I can be overbearing, but you knew that going into this. If that's not something you want, let me know. I don't want to waste my time here."
By now, the tears were falling down your cheeks. Normally, Rogue would gently wipe them away and embrace you until they stopped. Not this time.
Sniffling, you nodded. "I know. I want a future with you, too. I can try and be better about rushing into things, but I need a compromise from you, too. I want to know you trust me to take care of myself. I did it most of my life, and that doesn't just change because I'm with someone. I'll try and be less reckless, but I need you to back off me a small bit and let me do my own thing. If we can both do that for each other, I think we'll be okay?"
Rogue stayed quiet for a bit, chewing his lip in thought.
"It won't be easy," he exhaled. "But I do trust you, yn. I meant it. If you promise to think before you barge into fights, I'll stop hovering. But I'm not going to stop worrying, I just can't."
This time, he didn't pull away when you reached your hand out to his face. Instead, he turned into the gesture, kissing the palm of your hand.
"I'd never ask that of you, Rogue. But I promise I will try and do less to make you worry over." You stepped into his embrace, happy to have worked things out. The two of you walked toward your dorm in happy silence, having hope for the future.
