continued from here @wormb0i
“And, what does he say?” Akemi is certain it's anything but kind words, but she is more than willing to lend an ear. Calmness accompanies the young man’s voice, despite the unsettling revelation, she finds it praiseworthy. “You seem to be calm, is that what you truly feel, or… is it just a facade?” Her voice remains gentle.
Yuuji is selfless to the core, and the claim is supported by his actions. That’s what makes Yuuji admirable, but at the same time, she fears that this may be his downfall.
‘Four fingers, so far, that's one-fifth’ she recollects. “Aside from the two incidents Gojo-san has informed me about, that being your first meeting and this- your first mission, have there been instances where he has taken over?”
First, let’s take it slow. "Feel at ease, I won't force you to answer any questions. And if any discomfort, let me know."
Acting upon her own curiosity, and Gojo’s indirect encouragement, she’s here to study the circumstances that surround the young man, in the hopes that she can help the student, and hopefully that her research proves to be of some help. To find a way to convince the higher executives to not rush into any decisions. 'Though by now they must be relieved,' to the world, Itadori Yuuji is dead.
'For now,'
‘The body and soul are one and the same’ is a theory that’s engraved in the history of Jujutsu. In Yuuji’s case, it will either support the potential the young man has or… ‘Let’s not go there,'

I really like that Yuuji was a well adjusted and popular kid. He's highly athletic with good social skills, high EQ, perceptive, and has an overall good personality. His physical prowess doesn't dictate how he acts or treats others in his daily life.
But then he got in way over his head.
What an unusual shonen hero! He's by far the most normal shonen protagonist I've ever seen. He's not maladjusted, a weirdo, eccentric, gloomy, an idiot, a genius. He doesn't have some grand ideal or dream. He's just. A decent guy.
He's likable and brave and kind. He's not a pushover. He can get annoyed and mad like anyone else, but it's not exaggerated or overblown.
But then life shits on him constantly.
The most "heroic" characteristic you can say of Yuuji is his determination— that he's constantly pushing forward. And even that wasn't especially excessive.
At first, it was because of his positivity; his naivete that let him get past desperate situation after situation. Until it got to the point where even he couldn't ignore the unrelenting traumatic horror his life's become. Then, it's because this is life. This is it. What else is there to do but live? (The alternative is to stop. And it's not like that option wasn't constantly hovering over him anyway.)
Tumblr media
Resigned? Kind of. Acceptance... may be closer. He went from optimist to realist. His realization that he's a cog in the machine... it's based on the fact he was that normal guy.
He already was a normie cog, even if he hadn't consciously thought of it. Then he got exposed to this idea that he was part of this grand destiny; that there was something only he could do.
Tumblr media
(And he kind of was. Kind of wasn't. *hand wavy* Because it was all deliberated by Kenjaku. Not that Yuuji's entirely aware of that yet.)
But he was disillusioned, those thoughts bitterly crushed.
So, he pushes forward, step by step now, as part of this... existence. This world.
It's really entertaining.

JJK chapter 213 spoilers
Tumblr media
Our poor baby got punched through several buildings. Some even suspect this is the end of him given he can't heal himself without Sukuna anymore.
Only... Yuuji isn't a regular human, is he? He's way more resilient than any other, except Maki (and Toji). Is it too much to hope he will survive this? Objectively speaking, there is no way, but Gege never gave us any indication of how much Yuuji can actually take.
People seem to forget this: Sukuna didn't enhance Yuuji's physical strength and durability. Quite the opposite actually - because of it Sukuna couldn't so easily take control over him. Only thing Yuuji got from that unwanted guest was his cursed energy. Gege didn't add that scene of Yuuji running past Megumi at unbelievable speed or beating his P.E. teacher at that metal ball throwing (what's the offical term? English isn't my native language) for nothing.
Yuuji might just be another person with heavenly restriction and with Sukuna gone, just like Maki, he might reach his full potential. What if Gege showed Maki struggling to reach it even after Mai's death to explain why Yuuji wasn't fully realized at the beginning of the series? Like for everything in life, you need to work for it in one way or another.
Which poses another question: why did Yuuji keep his abilities after ingesting Sukuna's finger as opposed to Maki while Mai was still alive?
I guess if he didn't he wouldn't be much of a vessel? Plus, it's quite possible that Sukuna only halted realization of Yuuji's true potential (he was seen as a whole being from the beginning) while Maki was completely prevented from it due to existence of her sister and that twin rule, if that makes sense.
Or maybe I'm just coping with the pain in this way because I can't deal with Yuuji's death too

So I re-read ch 244 and these scenes feel very different now that we get more clarifications from ch 252 and 256.
Tumblr media
Gojo was unsealed around Nov 19th which left 5 weeks to Dec 24th, the Shinjuku showdown. This meeting seems to happen quite early within that 5 weeks cz after that we knew Yuji and co been training hard for a month. Logically only those fighting in Shinjuku were training so Noritoshi might have left very early bfore they start all the hard trainings and further strategic meetings. This notion is also supported by how in many other flashbacks of their small strategic talks in further chapters, Noritoshi was never seen again even in the shadow so safe to say he had already left the quarter by then.
Tumblr media
Then we know Choso taught him BM and even RCT. So to me now it looks like Noritoshi 'taught' him the basics of BM at the beginning, prolly more into theories, and cz it's the basics it's pretty important. Then he left the place and Choso was the one continue teaching as well as 'training' Yuuji all the practical aspects of BM and RCT and just training/sparring with him in general to up their skills and reach that perfect and harmonious synchronized movements we saw in chapter 256.
Tumblr media
I have explained before that Yuuji said "he sucks at 'teaching'" most likely cz Choso not into theories himself as he is self-taught, he's naturally gifted and talented (much like Higuruma, perhaps more instinct than theories) hence why Yuuji cudn't comprehend lol. Logically, it seems like Noritoshi taught Yuuji separately or in separate times from Choso training Yuuji hence he seemed to have no clue whether Choso was actually bad at teaching Yuuji or not. However, we had the proof in chapter 252 that when he instructed Yuuji to calm down for RCT, it didn't look to me at all that Choso was bad at 'teaching'. His explanation was clear, easy to follow, and he looked very patient. Of course it doesn't eliminate the fact that what we saw in ch 252 might also be the result of Choso and Yuuji's continuous training together so they were now at the same page with the way Choso taught him.
Which brought us to the other option (thanks to ch 256 that now we know Yuuji can't do convergence well yet) that Yuuji was just badmouthing Choso *affectionately* cz he cudn't master it yet and blamed his big brother out of frustration 🤣 and Choso looked so surprised at Yuuji not only cz he didn't think Yuuji would say that to an outsider but also I imagine his surprised look also saying "wait...what?? So you're blaming me now?" Lmao he knew Yuuji still not able to do it yet but because he's such a good onii-chan he didn't say anything and just silently accepted the allegation thrown at him.
