Thank you Larian Studios for providing the most tense experience of my recent gaming career.

It only took two attempts, the first one crashed and burned about eight hours in due to a softlock due to a bugged dialogue, and almost put me off trying again. But the second attempt flew past at breakneck pace.

My squad was Gale (Divination Wizard, for guaranteeing those critical CC spells), Karlach (Tavern Brawler Open Hand Monk, for quite possibly the highest DPR in the game), Shadowheart (Light Cleric Spell-Tank abusing Radiating Orb) and Anja, my PC (Halfling Lore Bard who talked their way out of every sticky situation Karlach couldn't punch).

Potential BG3 & Honour mode spoilers below:

Honorable mentions to Astarion, the incredible flying Owlbear (who helped me beat Grym by leaping from the top rope and doing an incredible 200 damage) and Jaheira, who helped me buff to avoid certain one-shot thresholds in the later game.

Honestly, I think I spent too much time prepping for this challenge. All the way back in Act 1, I was making choices to ensure I had access to certain allies and options later on in Act 3 to avoid difficult checks (like recruiting Yurgir for the Raphael fight) only to end up... not really needing them. Act 1 had some of the toughest fights by far, and making sure I hit the right thresholds for XP was really important. I remember tiptoeing through the Goblin Camp, hunting for shreds of XP to hit the right level to face the Goblin Leadership, only to end up being caught out and having to brute force my way through several fights. Inquisitor W'worgaz required a whole setup to ensure I could kill him in 2 rounds, but after he fell and I sauntered into Act 2 with the Blood of Lathander and Adamantine Scalemail for Shadowheart, I was feeling pretty confident.

I talked the three Thorms to death, fireballed some plants and blundered the portal fight (Sorry Halsin!) before finally rocking up to Catacombs and taking on the Trials of Shar. I cheesed Balthazar by using Knock on his door (and treating myself to a cutscene where the only member in range of the trigger was my Quasit, who looked very bewildered by the whole encounter) and the rest was a breeze. Even Ketheric fell over to Karlach's punches, and the final phase of the Illithid colony turned out to be pretty easy when I realised I could tank 99% of the Avatar of Myrkul's damage and negate his healing just by having Karlach stand in range with her Necrotic resistance and 20 AC, and having Gale haste himself and cast Bone Chill every round. Sucks to be beat at your own game, huh Myrkul?

Act 3 swiftly turned into a collect-a-thon as I scooped up the last few powerful items I needed to make endgame builds. Lorroakan never got a chance to cast a spell thanks to two characters with counterspell, and with Markoheshkir and the Weave set, Gale became the ultimate hobo wizard capable of blowing up pretty much any threat. Level 11 brought Globe of Invulnerability and turned some of my biggest fears (House of Grief, Gortash & Raphael) into steamrolls where I didn't even take a single point of damage, and never saw a single hostile action. Viconia De'vir spent her entire lifespan being Black Hole'd into a Wall of Fire/Black Tentacles/Silence combo that rendered her impotent, new Legendary actions and all. Gortash got one round of throwables in before Karlach turned his face into a grey paste with the aid of six attacks per round, and Raphael? Oh brother. Using all the explosives I could find in Felogyr's basement, I collapsed all his pillars and then stomped him into the ground with Stunning Strike and Tasha's Hideous Laughter.

Orin came close to ruining my run through my own hubris - She managed to out-initiative my party by quite a lot and land smack bang on top of my Danse Macabre ghouls... blowing them all up and causing a huge chunk of friendly fire to Gale, who went down to bleed before his turn came up. Fortunately, some well placed potion throws and a haste bottle brought both Gale & Globe of Invulnerability up, and upcast Magic Missile did the rest.

The walk to the brain didn't bother me, even though I did forget about Voss' ambush if you don't free Orpheus, because by that point I was so stacked with items anything without the ability to deny CC would just turn into oh-so-much chunky pulp whenever I looked at them. When the time came to fight the Netherbrain, I hesitated... the pressure of losing my run to the Brain's turn timer was terrifying, and I didn't want to take that risk.

So that was when the contingency I'd been planning from Day 1 came in.

I'd been romancing Gale. Primarily to get to see his scenes and how he was as a romantic partner, but also because it lowered the DC to persuade him to detonate the orb to a 25, with advantage. I had no re-rolls left, but thanks to my Halfling race, a natural 1 was unlikely. With all my buffs & stats, I needed a 3+ to succeed, and when that total came up with a 33 I knew I never needed to worry.

And just like that, Gale of Waterdeep sacrificed himself, and the golden dice were mine.

Tokyo ghoul camp camp AU?

Camp Campbell is camp for young ghouls. Flyers can be found at cafes that ghouls frequent.

The flyers still advertise a certain camp while at the same time finds a way to get the “we help train your children to protect themself” message across.

Whenever humans try to sign up, they usually find a way to scare them off. They’ve only had three human families let their child into Camp Campbell. One child later joined the Woodscouts. (Y’all know who it is.)

Notes:

-Ered’s dads are human but have friends that they’ve known since high school that are Ghouls. (They’re how they adopted Ered.)

-Max is a one eyed ghoul.

-The campers have never seen QuarterMaster or David use their Kagune (Pretty sure they would call it something else since they don’t live in Japan but oh well) or have seen their eyes switch colours.

-The two also smell weird, but the campers are 90% sure that they are human.

-They teach the campers not to binge eat.

Any other ideas for this?

Dogpoo Petuski Application

IN CHARACTER:

Name: Devin “Dogpoo/Dogtooth/Dev” Petuski - I am fully aware that it isn’t his name, but I can’t take Dogpoo as a name seriously (There will be something in ‘bio’ about that) Age: 24 years old Gender (pronouns): Cis male, he/him Sexuality: Pansexual? Bisexual? Who knows! Occupation/Role: Owns a butchery type deal. Does alright taxidermy on the side. Goes out hunting regularly. Location/Faction: Centennial City Personality: - Devin is at first glance, quiet and introverted. Deciding that, since he lives in the ’big,scary city’, he would rather be a loner and not speak to many people outside work circumstances. This, combined with trust issues is not a fun combo. While he does hate it sometimes, he knows that is what keeps him safe. When he does speak to people however, he does it with the utmost respect and manners. Having manners might just make someone’s day, after all. He always tries to have a very positive outlook, or well, as positive as one could be in the wasteland. Always walking with a smile on his face, but don’t be fooled into thinking that he is naïve or gullible. He is very quick to realize when he’s been lied to. - He can get very protective of who and what he cares about, to the extent that he’d rather die trying than give up what’s being protected. - He keeps his promises and stays loyal to those who stay loyal to him, until given reason not to be. - He has literally no patience for snobby/bitchy types. It is the only time he doesn’t stick to being friendly. If a snobby type enters the butchery, don’t be surprised if he tells you to fuck off. - Unless you’ve personally hurt him a lot, he will not hold a grudge. He will shrug it off and, you guessed it, not care. - A brave bastard. He will not even flinch if you pull a gun or knife on him (Unless you’re, as an example, a CC military type). Stupid brave, to put it simply. - Has slight abandonment issues, but hey, can’t be abandoned if there’s nobody to abandon you. Bio (It’s not up to Gregory’s app’s standard I apologise x-x): Born and raised in Centennial city, where he still lives to this day.

At the time of his birth, Devin was nameless. His parents, back then, were completely clueless on what to name their baby boy. Like most wasteland parents they feared that he wouldn’t manage to live long. That, even when they were living inside the safe walls of the city, danger would still swoop in and take him from them. So, he was simply referred to as ’son’ and ’boy’ to start with.

His parents ran a butchery in the city, a surprisingly successful one at that. One night, when Devin was barely a year old still, his father offered to watch him while his mother was out buying a few things for the house. His father, somewhat careless, left him to crawl around and play with some things while he was busy preparing what would be sold the next day. Devin took interest in the family’s dog, who often stood by in case he could possibly get meat scraps. When the dog walked off to go outside for…business, Dev followed close by. By the time his father realized he was missing, he was just…sitting outside, playing with, you guessed it, the dog’s poop. Can’t really blame him for it, he was just a little kid. A baby. That earned him the nickname ’Dogpoo’. Originally his mother was against it, it was a very silly nickname to go by, but she was reasoned with to accept it. Said that it was only a temporary nickname. They were still unsure whether he would live past the age of 5. Nothing personal or against him, they loved him very much, but with the amount of dangers in the wasteland it was a possibility that he would die young.

That was not the case.

Through the years, to his parents’ surprise, he managed to stay alive. From a young age, he showed interest in following in his parents’ footsteps. So, they taught him everything they knew. Proper hunting, skinning, knowing what cuts are used for what, what to dispose of and watch out for, even things like sewing, reading and a hint of writing. He also learned how to cook a variety of foods from a variety of items, not only meat. He avoided joining the CC’s ranks as a guard or mercenary, rather slowly started helping more and more around the butchery.

It took him until the age of about 11 or 12 to realize what he is called, and what it was. At 16, he also figured out that his parents weren’t sure that he would live as long as he did, which is why he didn’t really have a proper name. He hated being known only by a dumb nickname purely for his mistake as a baby. He was being mocked for it behind his back, he was sure of it. So he slowly began reading up and figuring out what he would name himself. He asked for suggestions. Wrote down possible names. Anything. If people asked about his name, about ’Dogpoo’, he would say that it was misheard. That it was actually ’Dogtooth’. He stuck with that every time he was asked. While out hunting on his own for the first time, he had his first run in with something that would not die easily by a few shots from a hunting rifle. He wasn’t afraid of it, rather cautious and curious. It wasn’t until he was pinned down, blood streaming down his face from being clawed that he realized he made a mistake getting close to it. He barely made it out alive, and if it wasn’t for the beast seeing other humans messing with it’s nest, he probably would have died right then and there. He still has the scars. Another time, not too soon after that, he experienced radiation for the first time ever. He could feel it damaging him almost, but he would not be defeated by it. He didn’t want to become a ghoul either from making stupid decisions. This was where he started putting together gasmasks of his own design from old, broken ones he had bought, traded for or found. One was based of a dog, similar to the family dog years back. The other was based off what he called a ’tusk-beast’, a weird animal he saw in form of a broken, ruined statue in the city. Those would protect him to an extent, and hide his face.

Fast forward to 2279, almost 2280. One day, Dogpoo was left in charge of the butchery for the day, while his parents went out for their weekly hunting trip. It was a quiet day, not too much going on in terms of sales. He spent his time removing the guts from the baby gecko who would become the taxidermized mascot of sorts for the place, Steven. It started getting later and later, but rather than fearing the worst, Dogpoo accepted that his parents had possibly gotten lost, or had decided to camp out for the night. He made a promise to himself that he would keep running the family business, rather than closing it for the time being. He knew that they would be proud of him for it. Only recently, a few months back to be exact, he took the day to make it official, that he was named Devin, that nobody could argue. Not even his parents.

Up until this day, though, he is still waiting for their return. Not as Dogpoo Petuski, but as Devin Petuski.

Headcanons: - This boy has never learned to shoot anything other than a variety of hunting rifles. - Fairly skilled with knives, cleavers and saws, only because of the butchery. - Has a huge claw scar across his face from getting attacked by some creature while out hunting. Very self-conscious about it. - He tends to pay others for meat, just in case it runs out or he couldn’t find anything on his own. Wouldn’t catch him complaining, though. - He literally has no idea about anything or anyone outside of the CC and the small radius around it where he hunts. - He has been trying to perfect his taxidermy technique. His only successful one so far has been a baby gecko. He stands in the corner next to the door of the butchery. Dev calls him ’Steven’. - Dev can read numbers and do basic equations (add, subtract, multiply, divide). He keeps a small notebook in which he writes down things such as expenses, money made for the day, how much he has to pay people and so on. - No, the money made is not kept at the butchery, nor does he keep it on him. So don’t even try to rob him. - Will try to befriend anyone and everyone. Very friendly, even to those who are not friendly towards him…. In most cases. - Seems to speak with a slight Canadian accent. - Not afraid to get dirty - No matter if it’s mud, blood, or anything else. - This boy hasn’t had a decent haircut since he was born. When it gets too long, he cuts it himself. Send help. - He sticks to the laws, rules and regulations of the city to make sure he doesn’t get into trouble. - He is a pretty decent wasteland chef and yes, he will make you food if you ask him to. (Once again, if something needs to be changed, I have no problem with doing so)

Omggg I love monster aus, your ghoul au is so good! May I please request what the performance trio are/ look like?

Oh! And is it just Camp Campbell that are ghouls or are the other camps like the Wood Scouts and Flower Scouts ghouls as well? It’d actually be kinda funny if they were humans and are freaked out at first but then eventually get used to it and keep being menaces like they are in canon.

Daniel too, he seems like the kind of guy to just stay a creepy ass human that everyone kinda assumes is a ghoul cause the fucker never 𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘴.

funny you ask i was literally just designing/planning on how the performance trio looks !!

(subject to change) harrison died in a failed illusionist trick ( he wasn't the one doing the trick ) and he got split in half. he revived as a magician/wizard nerris died in a larping accident with their friend , they got hit on the head with a staff and they died on impact ( OW!!!!!!!!! ) they revived as a elf ! small issue , they have coordination and balance struggles and eye misalignment , they use their staff to help them stand preston died in his 'one-man-one-lake' play. you can guess what happened. ( he drowned ) and got revived as a siren !

all the main characters from other camps are ghouls , all the woods around the lake count for ghoul area (so woodscouts and flowerscouts are also ghouls !) i haven't gotten around to thinking about daniel yet .. but having him come in and do the cult camp things would be fun. maybe xemug had a prophecy about the ghouls and daniel is searching for them ? non canon thoughts I'm just talking out my ass here

Gonna add more than just artists or fic writers to my rec day post, and slap a few nice blogs dedicated to Neil on here because....you know what? He deserves it.

okay so here’s what was gonna happen in DVV in the original ending before i butchered the plot and made it unusable lol

Basically after chapter 10, attila tells dead sea what caesar had to say and ofc dead sea is terrified for aurelius. he discusses maybe going on his behalf to take whatever punishment caesar had in mind, surely he'd be merciful to one of his favoured legionaries

there was then just going a bunch of bullshit involving dead sea just having to watch aurelius’ body falling apart because of the radiation exposure he underwent at CC as the days pass on (forgetting about caesar’s warning) . Soon it clicks with dead sea, he's becoming a fuckin ghoul and really can't stay here. so dead sea decides he's going to smuggle aurelius out of the legion, going against everything he’s supported bc he just can't see aurelius die. he summons ace dakota to nelson, to lead in his absence as he needs to ‘’visit’’ a legion camp near by.

then aurelius and dead sea sneak out the night ace arrives, heading up north towards nipton’s mountains. they reach the legion’s safe house as dead sea hopes he can rely on atticus’ help as they were good friends at the fort. but they find it locked up with no sign of life anywhere. dead sea tries picking the lock, as aurelius gets increasingly more frustrated at his many failed attempts to open up. then, aurelius just fuckin CHARGES the door and breaks it down and dead like “.....or we do that too w/e.”. the first thing dead sea notices is that there's a horrible stench in the house, like rot. aurelius can't smell it bc his nose/sense of smell is just gone at this point. they see the smell is coming from the bottom of the stairs of the legion safehouse and when they go down, to their horror, they see the decomposing skeletal remains of atticus.

dead cant handle the smell or shock, staggering outside as aurelius tries figuring out what happened. hours later, aurelius has dealt with the body burying it and doing his best to scrub up where he’d died. he tells dead sea it was a suicide to comfort him, in reality he could’ve determine what caused the man’s death. they sleep on the sofa and leave the door open, letting the place air out until morning.

in the mean time, attila and caius are dealing with ace’s idiot behaviour in nelson. attila heads out to go hunt for mirage, but spots a patrol heading his way. he tries hailing him but they suddenly rush him and slam him to the wall, demanding where aurelius is. attila pleads ignorance and hes dropped as they charge the camp, interrogating ace next who really doesnt know. to get ace talking they threaten to kill a recruit for second they dont get what they need. ace again tries to faign innocence and didnt even know aurelius was here, so they turn and shoot leo in the chest killing him instantly. caius goes to scream in horror but is silenced by attila and dragged away, telling him they need to escape and NOW or they’ll both be killed. the rest of the plot for these two remains the same in SF so i wont spoil!

back to aurelius and dead, aurelius starts wondering if they can build a life in the safe house, but dead sea says how they'll never be away from legion here, aurelius needs to leave the mojave or find refuge in an area not controlled by ncr or legion. aurelius asks dead sea to come with him if he does so which really puts dead sea in a dialema...stay with hsi faction who he owes his life to, or stya with the man he loves and live free from war. orignally he agrees to stay and they do try to live out in the safe house together as no legionaries ever seem to come by anymore, they find new clothing and dead sea handles a lot of the trade as he’s not as ‘’legion looking’’ as his boyfriend.

one day after coming months, dead sea comes home calling to aurelius that he managed to strike a good deal on some weapons for the cazadores nesting in the cliffs near them. no response, he calls again slightly concenred now. he heads down the stairs and just sees the place looks wrecked beds overturned and he fears the legion found them, but then suddenly something jumps him and bites straight into his neck from behind. aurelius turned feral, but dead sea can’t bring himself even to fight back, just quietly whispering he forgives him as his throat in torn open by someone he once loved

Ghoul camp au question(s): How did all the campers/counselors die? Similarly how did they get revived? Did they get revived by qm?

pretty big question to unpack but lets get into it >:)

the first person to experience 'ghoulification' was davey(10). he .. got in a nasty situation lets say , and he woke up in the middle of the woods , suddenly looking like this.

hes scared and confused. he cant really go home like this (or at all anymore) so he runs to camp campbell , the only other place that he called home luckily , QM was there. he's naturally born a goblin (how? don't ask. why? no clue. QM is just as weird in this au as in canon). he let him stay at the camp , in exchange for unpaid labour. davey couldn't say no. a few years later , gwen(13) was touring with her dad. a little accident happened , she got wrapped in some wires and a speaker fell on her. she died on the spot. she had a funeral , but she woke up in the woods , covered in bandages and when she pulled them back , her body was rotting. she didn't pull the bandages back again.

davey(14) found her in the woods while he was playing , he took her back to the camp and let her stay. after that , cameron's son cj died due to a supplement drug overdose. he found this out after cj died. what cameron didn't know is that his son woke up days later in the woods , but this time he has a thirst for human blood. QM found him and called cameron , who was shocked. he hadn't been at camp campbell in a long while , he abandoned the project and he let QM live there because he simply liked the guy. plus he was creepy and he didn't want QM to kill him possibly , who knows. cameron goes to check out if what QM said was true , and it was. also why the FUCK ARE THERE MORE FUCKED UP MONSTER KIDS HERE ? long story short , camp campbell becomes a home for 'ghouls' who got revived , because they all seem to wake up in the woods surrounding the lake.

SPEED ROUND !!! max got ran over by a car and he became a zombie neil had a terrible panic attack which led to a heart attack and he became a ghost nikki ran off into the forest and got eaten by wolves (she put up a good fight) and she turned into a werewolf

ill definetly make a part two explaining all the other characters/their stories/what ghoul they are bla bla

i was putting off making a post about all of the campers since i don't have all their designs drawn out , but i can always make another i suppose ive been DYING to talk about all the campers camp campbell: David , frankenstein monster - first to be 'ghoulified' and wake up in sleepy peak woods. QM let him stay at camp since he couldn't go back into society like ... this gwen , mummy - got tangled in some wires at her dad's show and she died when a speaker fell on her. her dad held a funeral for her , but she woke up in sleepy peak after it. cj , vampire - died from supplement overdose , something to do with his red blood cells idk he's a vampire now QM , goblin - he was born this way cameron campbell , human - didn't die ! max , zombie - died in the middle of the night when a car ran him over. they didn't see him on the road neil , ghost - died while having a terrible panic attack which led to a heart attack nikki , werewolf - died when she got lost in the woods and a pack of wolves ripped her apart ( she put him a good fight ) harrison , wizard - died in an illusionist trick , he got cut in half

nerris , elf - died in a larping accident , someones staff fell on their head and they died on impact preston , siren - drowned in a lake while preforming his 'one-man-one-lake' show ered , stone golem - died in a awesome extreme rock climbing incident dolph , werepup - died when a german police dog ate him ( he's a pup not a wolf because he didn't put up a fight ) nurf , centaur - horse ran him over idk space kid , alien - got abducted by aliens and he died when they experimented on him
