So far I absolutely ADORE wildwood story, I’m having the time of my life and I’m overjoyed my custom pelt carried over from the demo! Though I’m confused, can you only give one gift per day now? Trying to make talon bearable to interact with and I can’t give him more than one item at a time

#dogblr#rory borealis#ive been doing a lot more scent work in the fields#hiding frozen birds in big areas and then having her find them#this was the biggest area yet#my usual field is about 2 acres#i throw my birds wherever (so she cant track my scent and i dont really know where they are to help her subconsciously)#and this time i used a river valley which was about 14 acres#and threw my birds wherever#some additional challenges included cattails elevation changes and weird wind patterns#it was so cool to watch#honestly there isnt much i love more than watching her in the field#she is so responsive and so in tune with her environment#i see why people get hooked

I’ve never been able to make an oc that sticks around for long. I’ll draw a new character one or twice then never again 🤷 kinda difficult to make ocs if I’m never really gonna do anything with them. I feel like I can’t really get into characters without a story and fan base already around them. I also don’t know why but I get really attached to the characters in a fandom that are ‘crazy’ like Spamton and jevil or like krampy in cattails, Yellow guy dhmis, miles edgeworth ace attorney and ice king adventure time.

Cattails experts! I need help!
I am playing on the switch and this is the old game, not the newer one. So I used the custom colonycode which completes all pillars in the forest guardian quest for you a little too early, like before I gave the first pillar any of the stuff it needed before the jewel, and now the other pillars don't work. They won't power up like they're supposed to. I already have a lot of progress in other stuff in the save and I really don't want to leave it behind and do all of it again. If you have any advice I'd love to hear it! It may help.

i think maybe one of the other reasons why i ended up hating the great sky island’s stupid periodic saxophone chords was because it did nothing to actually be atmospheric or add to the setting and just kept reminding me of the cattails soundtrack
#man at this point idk if its sax or like. some clarinets or whatever. but i feel like if it was clarinet id fucking know as a clarinetist#btw this is not me dunking on cattail's soundtrack that game has a delightful little ost#give the cattails soundtrack a listen it's really cute i love it#man totk just got me thinking about games i like more that totk#i could be very easily winding myself up against totk by thinking abt what i hate in botw but i really havent clicked with totk at all yet#salty talks#i just. a lot of botw's ambient music really didnt help as like. set dressing they just set a tone and that was it#which is fine but then a lot of places just ended up without any kind of unique musical identity at all#like. elden ring has similarly ambient music for it's areas but theyre all specifically different from each other and give a sense of place

Aaron knows you harbour more affection for him than anyone else on the team, which is a true compliment to him, as you adore Spencer. He can never tell if you're friendly or loving, if you want some or all or nothing, the line between you blurred.
When Morgan and Garcia first began their flirtatious friendship, Aaron thought they were seeing each other on the sly for a whole fortnight. He's a profiler, but he doesn't know everything.
He does, however, know that something is wrong with you today. Hand held up over your eyes, you squint out over the crime scene with a wrinkled nose. The lakeside smells as bad as it looks with gore blackening the surrounding grass. He's been telling you for months to get some shades. You've been ignoring his advice.
Your disapproval of the smell is normal. Your unsure footing is not. You take his forearm when he offers it and step across the muddy bank to the body without audible complaint, though you give him a 'this fucking sucks' narrowing of the eyes when he gives you the time.
"Agent Hotchner," a deputy greets, "Agent L/N. We found the second body here. Bystanders pulled the first out thinking she was still alive, but that was unfortunately not the case."
You shift unprofessionally close to Aaron. He doesn't really care. The sheriff barely looks at you both, his attention on the corpse hidden between overgrown cattails.
Aaron hates to admit that he gives you more of his attention than is helpful. You seem odd. Call it intuition, call it plain old profiling, Aaron reads the next minute of events in the smallest twitch of your finger.
You put your hand on his back and he doesn't think, he just grabs you. The sheriff deputy startles as you fold over Aaron's arm like a marionette with strings sliced, exhaling hard as your body does its best to hit the grass beneath your feet.
"Agent L/N!" The deputy yelps.
"I got her," Aaron says, easing you down to the ground. He keeps a hand behind your head to lay you down flat, the other quick to leap from your side to your cheek. You'll likely have bruises in the shape of his hands at your waist. "Y/N?"
He rubs his thumb under your eye. Quick, he leans down with an ear to your lips and relaxes at the sound of your shallow breathing. He pulls away, resting a hand atop your chest.
"Can you hear me?" he asks, conscious of and ignoring the copious pairs of eyes watching over you.
You don't respond. Aaron goes into emergency mode, flagging down a cop who races for a paramedic, hands at your throat unbuttoning the first button on your blouse, the second in an overabundance of caution.
"Y/N, if you can hear me, I need you to open your eyes. Can you do that?" His tone wavers somewhere between demanding and desperate. "Come on. Come on."
Fainting is one thing. Fainting with no signs of dehydration and little sun exposure is another, especially considering you hadn't moved from one position to another. You've passed out with no obvious cause. Any number of things could be wrong.
He doesn't slap you —it works in the movies and not often elsewhere. In fact, Aaron finds himself at the opposite end of the spectrum. Patient outwardly and insanely panicked on the inside, he holds your face in his hand and waits for someone to tell him you're alright.
Your breath catches, your head lolling into his palm. He straightens it, weary of your airways. "Y/N? Tell me you can hear me."
The whirlwind of your fall and the eternity of your recovery has him holding his breath.
"I can hear you," you mumble, again attempting to turn your head. He lets you this time. He's so relieved, he'd let you do anything.
He fights the urge to shout, Where's the medic? instead following your face, tilting his head to the side. "Open your eyes, honey," he murmurs, for your ears alone.
Your lashes twitch against his pinky index finger. You frown as though you're in pain and finally rouse to attention.
"What hurts?" he asks, brows furrowed.
"Nothing hurts…" Your frown worsens. "You look really unhappy."
"I'm not ecstatic about this," he says. He gives in, shouting, "Where's the medic?"
"Oh, no, please," you say, trying to sit up, "that is so embarrassing."
Aaron pushes you flat to the grass beneath you. "Stop, you need to stay flat. You passed out. This is the solution–" He puts his hand flat over your chest as you put in some effort. "Hey, this is what you need to do. Listen to me, agent."
"What happened to honey?" you ask quietly.
"That's when you were doing what I wanted."
You close your eyes in a faux strop. "I guess I'll have to do what you want more often, sir."
"That's enough." He sounds fond. Why does he sound so fond?
The deputy clears his throat. "Paramedics are here."
You groan. Aaron hides a smile. Through everything, his hand has stayed on your cheek. He doesn't pull it away until he absolutely has to, and even then, he holds some part of you. Your elbow, your wrist. He has the sense to be sheepish about it when the paramedic ushers him back, but even then, he's thinking about when he'll get to touch you next; he needs the assurance that you're okay.
He gets it a half hour later when you're sipping on a gatorade in the back of an SUV.
"Do I still get paid for today?" you ask, smiling playfully. "Or is this a write off?"
He wants to joke about it with you, but there's work to be done. He sends you back to the hotel with a frankly unprofessional hug and a demand to take it easy. He's sure you'll be back stepping on his heels by late afternoon.

Ugh my mother and sibling are visiting my grandma back in rural North Carolina and I am SO homesick
#my mothers actually talking about moving back and opening a bed and breakfast she’s wanted to for years#and she and my grandma are SO woven into the community my mother has so many cousins and friends still there#she’ll be around her childhood best friends who I grew up calling aunts#and not for nothing my grandma is 89 so she’ll be there to help her out#my family has legit lived there since the 1700s and it’s a pretty rural area so like that side of the family is SO interconnected#with the rest of the community#but god…I just want to see the ocean I miss her#i want to eat REAL bbq and hush puppies#(look regional differences with bbqs in the south are legit)#i want to go to my grandmas house. which was built in like…1946 I think?#been renovated fully 2 separate times in my life from hurricanes#but like…that house is the closest thing I have to a childhood home I moved like once a year when I was young#but spent summers and breaks and even 3 day weekends down there#also lived there for kindergarten and first grade#i want to eat dinner and then follow my grandmas nightly routine#of local news then nightly news then wheel of fortune and then jeopardy#i really really really want to go out and play in the backyard like I’m a kid#like play with cattails and jump over the ditches and lay in the grass#also taking the sorta trail sorta hike through the woods to get to the ocean#picking clovers and pennywort and other wildflowers#dear god if that area wasn’t so republican id also consider moving there maybe some day down the line#start like an Artist collective with permanent residences and residencies etc#I’ve considered that on and off for a while#I’m really really hoping I can get the money and time off to get out there for thanksgiving#anyway these are just my melancholy homesick ramblings#personal

Asha is a character I can't help but be fascinated by. She's never once present in the books. She's dead before they even start. The only time we even hear her name is a passing line from Cattail as she's telling Clay about how she sold Asha, her sister, his egg for a cow. Yet, I can't help but be enamored by her.
Why did she want to be a Guardian? What was her story? Cattail implies that she was a kind, hopeful soul who believed in the prophecy with all of her heart. She also talked about how Asha wanted dragonets, something taboo and unheard of with the MudWings. Their culture was just getting together once a month for the. Love Nights, and then leaving behind the eggs to fend for themselves. Asha...Asha was different.
Asha had faith. She had hope. She wanted to raise the dragonets. She believed in that prophecy. What would have happened had she survived? She was caught in the crossfires between Blister and Blaze's armies, dying just as she got there.
What if she lived? Would she have stood up to Kestrel? Would she have taught the DoD the life and joys of Pyrrhia? Telling stories and myths? Not just history lectures or battle strategies, but tales of heroes overcoming hardship? Would she have inspired them to dream of a world they made better?
Asha... Asha, Asha. A wonderful mystery of what-ifs and hypotheticals. One of the most compelling characters, yet one that does not even speak a line of dialogue. What would you be, had you lived? I don't know. We may never know. That is what I struggle the most with.

at the cost of sounding like a total bitch I gotta say I cannot stand when my mother drags me in to help her cook/bake something that’s proven to be more than she can handle that I myself never agreed to help with from the beginning.. I think besides the fact that I don’t have the motivation/energy to do the things I Need to get done let alone help with some weird superfluous goddamn recipe she found on f*cebook, the fact that this has gone on My Entire Life whilst my brothers get to perpetually just sit on their gd asses is. Extremely grating. to say the least. Which doesn’t exactly fill me with inspiration.
