not to be pretentious about cat behavior in the warriors fandom of all places but real life cat colonies are not nearly as simple or universally structured as a lot of you seem to think they are. "just adult females and kittens every time" doesn't even begin to cover it. the sisters aren't some bastion of realism.

this is an article from a couple years ago that i read recently that gives a good overview of what we actually know about cat colonies, which can be broadly summarized as "it depends"

Today i was able to pet both Colmillo and Solecito (pictured above). I couldnt take photos of me petting Colmillo, cuz my phone died LOL ill get some next time.. IM DYING WAAA im so happy im going to explode seriously goddd. They're so soft.

TNR stray cats

Sometimes, the most you can do is TNR strays, and leave out the cheapest kibble you can afford with a bowl of water. It still helps, A LOT.

Contact your local Feral Cat Coalition or Humane Society and help reduce the stray population. I have had stray cats steal my heart and/or pass away. But I always TNR them and feed animals in need.

Long story short... this is my Dad several years ago, looking at our lovely cat named "Mama" She was originally a feral outside. We fed her and her kittens, but one time saw one of her kittens hurt. My heart couldn't take it, so we took him in. Sadly, he was taken from us too soon. So, in our grief, we took in his mom to try to fill the hole. And she has been with us ever since. She basically saw that she was getting regular food, warm places, Comfy beds, strange tall things that liked to talk to her in funny voices, and LOTS of pets/cuddles... That she decided that she wasn't going to leave. Making herself, and indoor cat. This is one of my favorite shots of them together. Mama does love me, but I will totally get ditched 95% of the time, for dad. Also, our cat colony we have outside, is mainly her lineage. With a few cats that are unknown if they have connection to her. But I want to make a family tree/identification chart some time for all the outside cats.

Everyone please wish junior a speedy recovery, he had to have his tail amputated because it somehow broke off at the base (he's part of a semi-feral cat colony we're working on getting neutered/spayed, it was probably in a fight), he's home now and he's not enjoying having to stay in the house this long :(

hi hi! cat clowder update . from october 12th 2023

second day ive been hanging out with the clowder. i want to give a name to the group.. im thinking train clowder. or oil clowder. they live in the train car... conductor clowder..station clowder..subway clowder'??

ANYWAYS. i brought some wet cat food for them : ) at first i only saw Colmillo (the white one) and Solecito. but soon Daisy and the tuxedo kitty (havent nicknamed him, thinking Sam) showed up also.

I am learning more about them. Daisy is very cautious, she seems to have a loner personality. actually, i dont think you can see her in any of these photos LOL! she was there all the time , but instead of laying down, she kept going away for a bit, walking, then coming back. making rounds. it seems she may prefer to be alone.

Colmillo and Solecito seem to get along well. They seem to stay close together most of the time.

The gray kitty, i think im nicknaming him Nebby. Well, he is part of the clowder! He seems to be very delicate and curious... likes to approach from above but keeping his distance! he has very beautiful emerald green eyes, that you cant see well in this photo (thank you sun)

The tabby brothers, Trueno and Tormenta. I have learned to differentiate them from eachother! Trueno has a more wide-set face, that also appears smaller because he doesnt have as much cheek fluff as Tormenta (may trueno be a girl?) . He also has 6 black stripes on his tail. Tormenta, has a more balanced face, with cheek fluff, and 4 black stripes on his tail. Their eyes are a different hue as well.

Trueno seems to be playful and silly! I saw him playing happily with a piece of trash >_< he was rolling around ehehe. cute ~~

Anyways! Development! I spent around an hour or so with them in the early afternoon before class. Then, i had the opportunity to go back to them a bit later, i had bought a muffin so i wanted to give them a few crumbs and just say hi again.

Well! Colmillo surprised me because she got quite close! I didnt dare try to pet her yet, but she bumped into my leg a bit??! Amazing! I hope we can become good friends soon..... ! I think if Colmillo becomes closer to me, Solecito may get the courage to also come closer.
